This is a FAQ/Walkthrough to help with the game 'Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell
Chaos Theory' for the Nintendo™ DS. This contains no script (except for when
it's important*), bonus costume locations (except when they're easy to find)
or items (except when they're there). Btw, the FAQ parts are

Redding - Your OPSAT has been updated with 3 objectives. To access hit press
START and use +Control pad to move through your objectives. Hit START again to
come back into your training. You can access your OPSAT at any point during
missions.
Sam, use the +Control pad to move and the Touch Screen to positiong the
camera. Using the Touch Screen, you can either drag the camera around with
your stylus or press down on the arrows to move it in the selected direction.
Practice this by moving to the blinking light on your right.
[ Move around with your Dpad and click the right arrow on the touch screen. ]
Redding - Way to go! Move towards the blinking light across the room.
[ There is a light at the end of the hallway. Run towards the light. ]
Redding - Pretty good. Can you see the flashing door? Move towards it.
[ The door with a lamp above it will be blinking. Tag the door and use your
Optic Cable (the 'Y' button) to look under it.
Press 'B' when you're done looking and press 'Y' to bash or open the door.
I pray you bash the door, 'tis fun. ]
Redding - Grab the upper ledge of the wall and lift yourself up.
Use the 'X' button to jump . Once you are hanging from the edge, press the
'X' button again to pull yourself up.
[ Run towards the ledge and press 'X' to jump and start hanging. Hoist
yourself up by pressing 'X' again and jump over the ledge again (to the other
side). Go near the hole and wait for Redding's comment. ]
Redding - You can crouch and crawl through tight spaces. Press the 'B'
button to crouch and crawl towards the door on the other side.
[ Press 'B' to crouch and go through the hole (it'll go in to FPS mode for the
time in the hole) and reach the door. Press 'Y' to interact (open, bash or use
Optic Cable). ]
Redding - To climb a ladder, simply walk up to it and press +Control Pad up
to start climbing.
[ Go to the ladders base and start climbing it. ]
Redding - Grab a zip line by pressing the 'X' button to jump. Make sure you
start from the launching board.
[ Go under the zip line and press 'X' to jump on the zip line and you'll start
swinging to the other side. When you're done, jump to the bottom and go to the
door and bash it down with the 'Y' button. ]
Redding - To proceed, you will have to use the pipe above you. Hit the 'X'
button to jump on the grey box and press it again to grab the pipe overhead.
Use your +Control Pad to move forward or backward.
[ Climb the box next to you and press 'X' to jump on to the pipe. When you're
on the pipe firmly, use the up and down buttons on your Dpad to move using the
pipe. Get to where you will be instructed by Redding again. ]
Redding - You might need to grab the pipe with your legs to squeeze through
tighter spots. Use the 'X' button to move on to the next area.
[ You're hanging on the pipe right? Great, now press 'X' to get on the pipe to
where it makes you look like you love the pipe too much. When you're in the
pipe position, start going forward using the pipe through that little space in
the wall. ]
Redding - Use the 'B' button to lower your legs and hit the 'B' button
again to drop from the pipe.
[ You're hugging the pipe. Now's the time to get off of it. Hit 'B' and
you'll be hanging on the pipe. Hit 'B' again and you'll drop. Yeah, spies
land on their feet too.
When you're done getting down, head to right and read the sign by hitting
'Y'. You'll read you need to split jump to get on top of a wall. When you're
down reading the post, get out of that corner and look to your left. Go to the
opening. ]
Redding - When space allows, you can perform a split jump. Move to a wall
and look straight ahead. You will need close quarters. This isn't easy.
Rapidly press the 'X' button twice to perform the split jump. Press the 'X'
button again to fall back to the ground. Look on the floor ahead, you'll
find foot prints to help your positioning.
[ Ok, you're there on the ground level. Go to the footprints on the ground and
hit 'X' twice and fast to do the split jump then do 'X' again to fall on the
ground again (wtf?). When you're done, go down and read the sign (and wait for
Redding's instructions. ]
Redding - It is more difficult to be detected if you move silently along the
walls. Get close to a wall and (taken from the sign because I was too slow to
look at the rest of Redding's instructions) press the 'Y' button to turn back-
to-wall.

[ The first, and second easiest, mission. It is tricky because you have to go
back and back and retrace your steps. But it's cool because you can kill
people in this mission. Go forward and turn right in to the opening tunnel in
to the lighthouse after the briefing.

[ A difficult mission. A lot of security ('tis a bank). Not many guards but a
lot of lasers and cameras. When the briefing is done, head to the hole in the
wall under the bridge and crawl through. You'll come to a small room. Follow
it out and you'll see a big gap. Above the gap is a pipe. You've been through
training. Hold on to the pipe by pressing 'X' and get to the other side. Drop
down and go through the door. Follow it to a little area. On the left side of
the wall, there's a ladder. Climb the ladder up. Equip your Sticky cams and
stay by the building away from te guard doing his patrol. Zoom and cam him in
the head. Equip your chaff grenades or your shockers and shoot or throw to
disable the camera for 10 seconds. Go to the little room and hack away. Talk
to Lambert and disable the camera again. Run to the vertical vent and climb up
the ladder. Grim will contact you. Follow the path and go through the door.
Go near the open hatch to the bank. Grim will contact you and tell you you
need to shut off the lobby lasers. Pick the lock of the door behind you and
hack in the panel and shut the lasers off. You did but the backup security
turned them back on. Damn. Rapel down or fall down. Save 1/4 of your life
or waste 1/4 of your life. When you get down, go through the door and turn
your camera to the right. A guard facing one way is doing something, grab him
with 'Y' and knock him out. Press 'Y' near the guard and pick the key up.
After that, go nearby the panel that is lighter than the other panels and
hack it. The lobby lasers are now disabled. Walk back to a door next to
the big black cabinet. Go in the hallway and talk with Lambert and 'Turtle'.
Turtle will advise your breaking of the vault task. You have 5 minutes to get
to the president's office and hack his computer after you switch off the
authorization panel.
Go through the pair of doors ahead of you after the talk with Turtle. Save
here. Go through the doors and in the lobby. Go to the doors in the center of
the loft. There's a camera to the right of you behind a desk. You can waste a
shocker or a chaff grenade and disable the camera and not get caught or you
can crouch walk by the dark sides of the room and go around so the camera
can't see you and not waste anything. Crouch walk by the sides of the room
and go round. When you're at the right of the desk behind a wall ahead of you,
equip your chaff grenades. Throw one and disable the camera. You can walk
around the desk and save time and dodge the camera or disable the camera and
climb the desk and then jump and waste time and dodge the camera. Walk around
the desk and dodge the camera and don't waste time and go through the vent at
the right of the doors ahead of you. Go through and meet at a hallway of
doors. Think brown Matrix. Go through the doors on your right. A guard will
be walking around the area. Stay in the shadows by the door. When he turns his
back, grab him with 'Y' and knock him out. Hack the four computers in the
room. You've forged 5 emails in the mission. There're 8 emails. The other
three are coming. Go out the other door near the back of the room and equip
your shockers, cams or airfoils. Go near the stairs and you'll get a caution
alert. A guard will come down the stairs. When he's coming, shoot him in the
head. Equip your shockers or your chaff grenades and disable the camera on the
wall. Go up and go to the room on the left. Pick up the chaff grenade next to
to the door and save near the desk. Pick up the other chaff grenades behind
the desk and hack the computer. The door ahead will open; don't go yet. Wait
for it to close then press the computer (hacking is done so no time taken) and
throw a chaff grenade. The lasers afront the door ahead will be disabled. Run
past the door and get in. Quickly so you don't have to waste another chaff
grenade, switch both panels in the room and switch the third panel next to the
door you came from and the door will open. Run past the door and leave the
room. You have 5 minutes to get to the president's office and hack. Go down
the hallway, past the sleeping guard and go through the doors at the end of
the hallway. Go down the new hallway and take the health pack; go to the vent
beside the bookcase. Go through the vent and make your way to a room with a
door, a guard, a camera and lasers that won't read you unless you try to go
through this other door. Go to the left of the room and go to the end of it.
Go through the new vent and get to a room with a door. Pick the lock of the
door and go in the president's office. Hack his computer and get the pile of
papers next to it on the desk. Go through the vent beside the bookcase behind
the desk and get to a new room. Go to the other end of the room and go through
the doors. Jump off the ledge of the new room and jump to the ground of the
lobby. The lasers are disabled so 'tis safe. Go to the other side of the lobby
where the door with the green lights above it is. Go through the door and
you'll see 2 doors in the small hallway behind the doors. Go through the first
one with the keypad. Enter the code in the keypad (check your 'saved' stuff in
your OPSAT for the code) and go through. Pick up the shockers and hack the
computer right there. When you're done, equip your chaff grenades or your
shockers and disable the camera in there. Hack another computer and run back
to the back of the room and disable the camera again. Hack the last computer &
complete the objective of the 8 forged emails. Head out of the room and go
through the other door to your left. You're in the vault chamber. Go near the
keypad to your left and type in the other code. You're timed to break in the
vault, steal 50 million in bonds and get out. When you get in there, go to the
end of the vault room and grab the bonus costume. Put your thermal goggles on
and start pick locking the cabinets with heat it in it. When you're done, get
out of the vault and run to the other side of the vault chamber. Pick lock the
door disguised as cabinets (they'll be lighter than the other cabinets) and go
through. Mission successful. ]

[ You got 9 minutes to get through this mission. You're in the shadows at the
start of the level. There's a guard right there; he only faces one way. Crouch
walk in the sides in the shadows so as he does not see you. Go behind him
slowly, grab him using the 'Y' button and press 'B' to knock him out so as
not to kill him; this mission cannot allow any fatalaties. Leave his body
and hurry up to that narrow alley you see ahead of you. Take a left and drop
down the manhole. You're in the sewers. Run a right corner and another and go
up the ladder. There'll be two guards there so watch it. Equip your 2 Sticky
cams. You'll get a caution alert for sure, wait until the guards are satisfied
and they move away. Get up the ladder and use the Sticky cam scope and zoom
for the two ballheads. Hit their heads so as to knock them out. When you're
done, follow the alley and you'll see one or two guards there on your radar.
Get atop of the three boxes and equip your 2 shockers. Aim down at the guards
at any place on the body and it's their bed time. Follow the alley to the vent
by the dumpster in the right corner. Crawl through the vent with your balls
and your word to the other end and use the save point. Go through the door
on your right and enter the shadows on the other side of the door. WATCH OUT
A GUARD! OMFG!! No sh0ck3rs!1
Settle, you don't need shockers or cams or ring airfoils or stun grenades.
You need your balls and your word. Stay in the shadows and wait for the guard
to come. He'll face the wall and turn around. Quickly go behind him when he
turns around. You could wait for him to start walking but 'tis faster to do it
quickly. Grab him with 'Y' knock him out. You can hack in the panel and waste
10 seconds or follow the corridor without hacking and save 10 seconds. When
you go follow the corridor to its end, you'll find yourself with a door. Go
through the door. You're at a dead end. The other door won't open and the
other is blocked. Above the blocked door is a way up. Press 'X' to jump on to
the ledge and hoist yourself up. Follow the way to some boxes next to a
window. A glitch is hidden in this part; if you go atop the boxes, you'll
have a mission failed screen. If this happens, keep reloading your save and
repeat from the last save point. When it works, go atop the boxes and look out
the window. Lambert will contact you. You'll have to drop down and get to the
vent near the window out there. Drop down to a ledge about a FOOT lower than
the window you're looking through. From there, crouch crawl on the edge and go
near a dark area. There, drop down. One guard will come near so when his back
is turned, grab him, knock him out and drag him to the dark area. Get the
attention of the other guard and run to the darkness. Wait for him to say
'musta been nothing' and him to go back to his position. When he's walking
back, crouch run to him and grab him. Knock him out and go through the vent.
Get to the other side and you'll be in a parking lot inside. There'll be
one or two guards. You can dodge them or try to knock them out in light.
Dodge them and head for the elevator. Press the elevator open button and get
in. Mission successful. ]
