Walkthrough - Perfect Score WalkthroughYoshi's Island DS, an FAQ/Walkthrough for this game on the DS. Copyright 2007 by Banjo2553, Version Complete ******************************************************************************* Welcome to my Yoshi's Island DS FAQ. This is a walkthrough of the game, plus featuring a few other things. The walkthrough is done differently, due to the build of the game. You see, Yoshi's Island DS has items that help you get a total of 100 points. The walkthrough will be in sections for each level, detailing important items. There are breaks in these item sections, such as a brief moment where there is a tricky spot to get through, or if you're going through an area that has no important items, but is worth noting about. Check the walkthrough section for a better idea. Yoshi's Island DS is considered the true sequel to the original Yoshi's Island on the SNES. It's been a long way, and nothing much has changed - for the better. This FAQ includes a walkthrough, detailed above; an unlockables section; and other things. This FAQ will also use a user-friendly search system. Each section will have letters and numbers in brackets corresponding to them. Simply press Ctrl + F, then type in the letters and numbers of the section you want to get there instantly. (You can include the brackets or not, it doesn't matter.) For the walkthrough, the levels listed do not have brackets. If you want to warp to a specific level, just type in the level's name as shown on the Table of Contents. Finally, this is best viewed in Notepad or any other simple .txt file viewing program. Now let's get going! ******************************************************************************* Table of Contents I. Version History [Hist] II. Game Story [Story] III. Credits, Legal Notices [Credits] +----------------------------------------------------+ | Version History [Hist] | +----------------------------------------------------+ - Version 1.0, released Dec. 31 2006: The start of this FAQ, released just in time for New Years. Think of it as a gift. Alright, I completely covered World 1 in the walkthrough, and covered all unlockables. The next version should come really soon, covering World 2 or more. - Version 6.0, released Dec. 10 2007: After almost a year's worth of waiting (yeah...sorry about that), I've finally covered all the Worlds, and completed the Minigames and Museum Lists. As of now, this guide is COMPLETE. Any updates will likely be tips and tricks submitted by viewers, and any overlooked typos or grammatical errors. - Version 6.1, released Mar. 11 2008: I got an e-mail from Scott Duncanson letting me know about a Red Coin I forgot to mention in 5-7, under the paragraph "RED COINS (9 of 20), BABY COIN (Baby DK)." Thanks Scott! +----------------------------------------------------+ | Game Story [Story] | +----------------------------------------------------+ Years have passed after Yoshi's first adventure that took place in Yoshi's Island 1, and the island has enjoyed peace at that time, until Kamek and his baddies started kidnapping babies again! This time, the Stork was able to save a few significant babies from Kamek, but was unable to retrieve Baby Luigi. Yoshi, unaware of the things happening at the skies, is enjoying himself, when all of a sudden Baby Mario falls from the sky. Yoshi, with a curious look, has a strange feeling that he's seen this baby before. Watching Baby Mario's motions, he realizes that the baby is looking up toward the sky. Yoshi looks up at the sky as well, and sees an ominous floating castle above the island. Yoshi determines then that something is wrong, and brings Baby Mario with him on his back, ready for yet another harrowing adventure! Is Kamek really up to his old baby-snatching schemes again, or is there a higher plan involved? Hurry Yoshi, and retrieve those kidnapped babies! +----------------------------------------------------+ | Game Controls and Basics [Ctrls] | +----------------------------------------------------+ First of all, this is a DS game that doesn't actually use the stylus, so you don't have to take out the stylus at all during play time. Besides, the game does fine without it. First of all, the controls. These are the default. - The Control Pad moves Yoshi and navigates through menus. Pressing down makes Yoshi crouch, and when he has an enemy in his mouth, will also create an egg out of that enemy. It will also allow Yoshi to ground pound. Pressing up makes Yoshi look up, enter doors, or lock the aiming reticule directly above you. - The A button is used to bring up the egg-aiming reticule, and makes menu choices. When the reticule is out, press A again to throw. This is in Patient mode. In Hasty Mode, hold the A button to bring up the reticule, and release to throw the egg. - The B Button is used to jump. The longer you hold it down, the higher you jump. To Flutter Jump, either hold the button through the first jump, or press and hold the B Button while in the air. - The Y Button makes Yoshi stick out his long, sticky tongue. If it comes in contact with an edible enemy, he'll retract his tongue and fit the enemy inside his mouth. Pressing Y again will spit the enemy out. (You can spit enemies upward by looking upward while pressing the button.) - The X Button locks the aiming reticule. The L Button is also used as this function. Another use is that holding it then pressing up or down will make the perspective change screens. An example is that Yoshi is on the top screen. If you hold X then press up, the game will scroll up so that Yoshi will now be at the bottom screen, allowing you to see high above Yoshi. Note that you can't do this all the time. There are four control styles. The first two are the Patient and Hasty versions of the default controls, as described in the A Button's paragraph. The last two are Patient and Hasty with the L and R Buttons taking the place of X and Y, respectively; and B takes the place of Y, while the A button takes the place of the B Button in the first two control types. I prefer the alternate Patient controls, to fit the GBA port's controls. Next, different from the first game is that you now have five different babies to have Yoshi carry, and each one enhances or at least changes Yoshi's abilities. Here's a list: - Baby Mario: Same controls as the first game; bouncing eggs, ability to run fast. He's also the only one who can allow M Blocks to be seen and have physical properties. - Baby Peach: No fast running ability, but Flutter Jump is enhanced, especially near wind. In return, eggs don't bounce, but break on contact. - Baby DK: Very versatile baby. Allows Yoshi to Dash Attack (crouch then press Y); climb vines; and eggs explode on contact, destroying many things in its radius. Also slows Yoshi's walking, and holding down during a Ground Pound will let Yoshi plow through multiple layers of ground or immediately ground a small pillar. On the downside, the Flutter Jump is severely hampered by his weight. - Baby Wario: Even in his young age, he was greedy. He always carries a large magnet, and this magnet will attract coins and other metal objects. If something metal is above you, either jump or press up to use the magnet. Like Baby DK, your Flutter Jump is hampered, but not as bad as Baby DK's. - Baby Bowser: What? Even the young Koopa King has joined the crew. OK...this baby, I think, has the most useful ability, other than Baby DK, and that is when you press Y, instead of Yoshi's tongue lashing out, Baby Bowser fires a fireball, which pretty much instantly kills any enemy that comes into contact with it. The downside is that the fireball is really slow, so I wouldn't advise using it during high velocity traveling. The fireball also melts ice cubes, as you're knowledge of fire vs. ice may have told you. Once again, the Flutter Jump is hampered about as much as Baby Wario does to you. Finally, Yoshi still morphs into many vehicles and other stuff, but the car is sadly taken out. A shame, as I really loved that transformation. Alright, time to end this section. +----------------------------------------------------+ | Items and Score Items [Items] | +----------------------------------------------------+ First, I'll explain the normal items that are common in the levels. Just a note, the special item cards that were in the GBA port of the original Yoshi's Island are NOT in this game, so you can't use the last-minute stars item card like I did. Keys: These unlock doors. Many of the doors that are locked just lead to mini- games, but there are some locked doors that lead towards the level's goal, so when you find a locked door, there must be a key nearby. Eggs: Eggs work a bit differently. They don't bounce as much as in the first game, but they do change colors with each bounce, and they break no matter what when they're red. Also, red eggs don't always drop stars, as they did in the first game. They drop mostly coins, so it's even harder to collect the 30 Stars needed for that perfect level score. Coins: These coins with Yoshi's face on them are abundant in Yoshi's Island. Collecting 100 of these nets you an extra life, but that's about the only use for them. Hint Blocks: Hitting these gives you information on the surroundings and/or tells you how to execute advanced techniques. These would be very helpful to you, if you weren't reading this FAQ. Stork Stop: A new item added in the game because of multiple babies, standing here calls the Stork, allowing you to switch babies by jumping up at the Stork. Switches: Finding these and jumping on them do various things. One useless thing to mention, is that Yoshi doesn't bounce back up after landing on one of these switches. Maybe he put on a little weight... Winged Clouds: Yes, these return, and as usual they hold various things. Not sure what's in there? Hit it with something! (Yes, other things besides eggs can be used.) Middle Ring: These are the checkpoints of the level. Not only do these give you 10 Stars, but when you die after passing one, you start at the same spot with the items you had when you touched it. Baby Coins: A brand new addition to the Yoshi's Island miniseries, there's one Baby Coin located in each level. They can either have Baby Mario, Baby Peach, or Baby DK's face on them, and only the character with his face on it can see it and collect it. Other babies can only see the outline of the coin. Most of these require a second visit to the level once you got the abilities you need to get the coin. Noticed anything missing from the original? Yep, that's right. Those fun Watermelon items that allowed you to spit seeds, fire, or ice are gone. Oh well. Next, are the Score Items, which are the items that affect your total score in the level. Red Coins: Twenty of these are in each level, and each one counts as one point. These are usually found hidden among normal yellow Coins, but occassionally, Fly Guys and Item Balloons are found carrying them. Flowers: Five of these 10-point items are found in each level. Collecting them all gives you a 1-up, so that's some more incentive for finding them. Stars: You can hold a maximum of 30 of these, and coincidentally, you need 30 of these to fill in the last remaining amount for the perfect score! These also have another purpose. When the baby Yoshi is carrying is knocked off his back by getting hit, a star is lost for each second the baby is off Yoshi's back. There are usually more than enough stars in a level. A final note is that if the star power falls below 10 when the baby is away, and you grab him, the number is reset back to ten. If the stars are at 0, Kamek's Toadies will grab the baby and you'll lose a life. Alright, you've been waiting for it, and so have I, so here's the Walkthrough! +----------------------------------------------------+ | Perfect Score Walkthrough | +----------------------------------------------------+ This walkthrough will explain how to get each and every Score Item in each level in the order you encounter them. Each item (or group of, depending on the situation) will have its own paragraph, for easy reading. There will be a break in these paragraphs to explain anything of importance or to get through a tricky situation. Oh, and just so there's no confusion, when I say "swallow" an enemy, that means capture them with your tongue, then make an egg from them. "Egging" an enemy means firing an egg at it. And don't worry, I will be including boss strategies. That should be it. When you start the game, it basically tells you what I explained in the Game Story section of this FAQ. After the story intro, you'll go through a little training level. It has no score items, and is really not an official level. It's just a training level, telling you the basics. It's fairly straightforward, so I don't think there's a need for a walkthrough on it. (And no, you can't get back to it, unless you start a new file.) World 1 \_____________/ World 1 is a lush field, full of wildlife and other significant things. The world does start to get more barren as you progress, though. World 1-1: Ba-dum BUM! -------------------------------- START: Follow the arrow on the ground, swallowing the two Shy Guys and the Crayzee Dayzee. FLOWER 1: Right by the Crayzee Dayzee mentioned is an easily reachable flower surrounded by four normal Coins. FLOWER 2: Head right from the first one, swallow a couple of Shy Guys, and egg the Winged Cloud to make a stairway appear. This stairway leads to this flower and seven normal Coins. RED COINS (3 out of 20): Left of the second flower is another platform with three Red coins and a Hint Block. COIN COLLECTING AREA PLUS RED COIN (4 out of 20): Drop down, and head right until you see a Piranha Plant hanging from a ledge guarding a Warp Pipe. Egg the Plant to make things easier, and collect the right coin on top of the Pipe to net a Red Coin. Go down the pipe, and prepare for some running. Hit the switch, then hold the run button (same as the button for eating enemies with) and collect all the Coins as you zigzag down to the end. If you're fast enough, you should collect them all. Use the bouncing ball arrow to get back up and go through the pipe there to exit. RED COINS (6 out of 20): As soon as you exit the above area, there will be two Coins to the left. One of them is a Red Coin. Now hit the purple egg block to allow you to get up to the left, and flutter across through the line of Coins. The last one is another Red Coin. STAR NOTE: The Winged Cloud to the left of the above-mentioned Red Coins contains five stars to collect. FLOWER 3: Drop down the right side of the yellow ledge near the rotating wheel of platforms to find this. RED COINS (9 out of 20): The coins surrounding the wheel of platforms has three Red Coins hidden among the normal ones. STAR NOTE: To the right of the wheel of platforms, (I'll call them "ferris wheels" from now on) are two yellow ledges. Below the second one is a hidden Winged Cloud. Hit it after uncovering it (by walking where it's hidden) to get five stars. RED COIN: (10 out of 20): The line of coins above the hidden Winged Cloud hides this Red Coin. FLOWER 4: Continue right and you'll find this Flower reachable near a Warp Pipe. NOTE: The Warp Pipe contains nothing whatsoever. CONTINUE: Go right, swallowing some enemies, and hit the Winged Cloud to uncover a seed which makes a large flower grow. Jump up the petals to continue. RED COINS: (14 out of 20): Above the magic plant is another "ferris wheel". There are four Red Coins hidden among the normals. RED COINS (17 out of 20), FLOWER 5, STARS, and 1-UP: Left of the "ferris wheel" is a Winged Cloud. Hit it to unveil a stairway leading to the last flower inside a Winged Cloud, three Red Coins, and a Fly Guy holding a 1-up. There's a hidden Winged Cloud between the two yellow ledges that contains five stars. BABY COIN (Baby Mario): From the right of the "ferris wheel", head through the Middle Ring, beware of the Windbag blowing Nipper Spores, then head down the Warp Pipe to the right. Inside is the Baby Coin for this level. RED COINS (20 out of 20): There are three sets of four coins as you approach the goal. On the first set, the top 2 are Red Coins, and on the third set, the rightmost coin is the last Red Coin in the level. The Winged Cloud contains coins or stars. END: Jump through the Goal Ring to end the level. If the ring stops on a flower, (the flowers in the Ring show how many flowers you've gotten on that level) you'll play the Bonus Game for that World! World 1-2: Hit the M Blocks! -------------------------------- START: Not really much to say here. If you have Baby Mario, continue to where you see two M blocks next to each other. Also on previous visits to this level, there's a Stork Stop right at the beginning. RED COIN (1 out of 20): Use the M Blocks that are next to each other to climb up. At the top is this Red Coin. RED COIN (2 out of 20): Continue right, getting rid of the Crayzee Dayzees, and collect the Red Coin amid the line of normal Coins. FLOWER 1 AND RED COIN (3 out of 20): Left of the second Red Coin, the right M block contains a seed which makes a plant grow. Hop up the petals to reach a platform with two more M Blocks, a Flower, and a Fly Guy carrying a Red Coin. Egg him to make him drop the coin. (Of course, the egg could pick it up as well.) RED COIN (4 out of 20): Right of the magic plant are three coins above an M Block. The bottom one is a Red Coin. RED COINS (6 out of 20): Keep heading right, hit the Winged Cloud for five stars, and fire an egg toward the group of coins above to collect a Red Coin. To the right here is another group of coins with a second Red Coin. Head down the warp pipe. RED COINS (8 out of 20): Once underground, head right and drop down. The blue mushroom platforms each have one Red Coin. RED COIN (9 out of 20), FLOWER 2, AND STARS: Continue right, and hop up the mushroom platforms. The topmost orange one has a Red Coin. Up above you should see a flower. Egg it to collect it. Finally, head to the top of the platform and jump where you see the indentation in the ceiling. A hidden Winged Cloud should pop up. Hit it to get five stars. BABY COIN (Baby Peach): Again, right from the previous items is an M Block. Hit it with Baby Mario to reveal a bouncing ball, and switch to Baby Peach using the Stork Stop further ahead. (Which is only available during a second visit.) Use the bouncing ball to get up to an area full of normal coins and the Baby Coin. Over to the right is a hidden Winged Cloud containing some stars. RED COIN (10 out of 20): In the area with a bunch of mushroom platforms, there's a Fly Guy carrying a Red Coin high up. Hit the Middle Ring for some more stars. RED COINS (13 out of 20): Right of the Middle Ring are three M Blocks. The middle has a bouncing ball. Use it to get up to where a locked door is and a horde of coins. There are three Red Coins hidden among them. MINI-GAME HOUSE: Right from the house is a key for it, being carried by an Item Balloon. Grab the key and use it to unlock the door. The mini-game is a test of Flutter Jumps. Check the minigames section for more details. CONTINUE: Head right and use the bouncing ball to enter the next area. RED COIN (14 out of 20): Hit the M Block in the next area to make a magic plant grow, then climb the leaves to get up to the higher platform. Now, using the top screen, find a Winged Cloud high up and hit it with an egg to reveal a stairway. This leads to a warp pipe and this Red Coin. Head through the pipe once you have the coin. FLOWER 3: The objective here is to quickly run to the end while making sure you don't get caught behind the rising walls. When you're ready, press the switch and run with all your might. If and when you get the flower, return from whence you came here. RED COINS (16 out of 20), FLOWER 4, STARS: Head right from the entrance of this area until you get to a bunch of tall plant-like enemies. These pop when you hit them with an egg or if you jump on their heads. There are two Red Coins surrounded by two of these, and a Flower that is blocked by a really tall one. For the stars, stand where the arrow sign is, and jump left from where it is to unveil a hidden Winged Cloud containing stars. RED COINS (20 out of 20), FLOWER 5, STARS: Right near the Goal Ring is a huge "ferris wheel". There is a Red Coin on the bottom, both sides, and top of the circle of coins surrounding it. There's a Winged Cloud concealing the last Flower up near the top as well. You'll have to use an egg for both hitting the Winged Cloud and getting the Flower. Finally, there's a Winged Cloud to the left of the "ferris wheel" which may contain stars. World 1-3: Mario's Fleet Feet -------------------------------- START: Alright, make sure you have Baby Mario. If not, there's a Stork Stop (only available during second visit) right at the beginning. Now, Hop up to where you see the platforms, and prepare for some high-speed action. RED COINS (7 out of 20), FLOWER 1: You have only one chance to get these. After falling down a set of platforms, watch for elevated coins. The ones that are higher than the other ones are Red Coins. Watch for this for 3 of them. Next, there's a Red Coin right at a platform after a small drop. Don't jump and you'll grab it. Finally, there are three Red Coins leading toward the Flower at the end. If you don't have seven Red Coins when this race is done, you must restart. Hit the Middle Ring and continue to the next area. CONTINUE: Continue right, swallowing some Shy Guys if needed, and use eggs to bash through the soft stone here. You should make a bouncing ball fall down. Use it to hop up, and jump left to see three M Blocks. They contain coins and stars. Keep on going until you get to the wooden platforms. RED COINS (9 out of 20), FLOWER 2: Get to the topmost platform, and throw an egg toward the coins, using the arrows as a guideline. The egg should collect the two Red Coins and Flower at the top. RED COIN (10 out of 20): At the place with a lot of soft stone. Throw eggs diagonally to reach an enclosed area with this Red Coin. Throw one downwards to reach an Egg Block if you need a refill. RED COINS (12 out of 20): Using the Chomp Rock here, roll over the enemies, and when you get to the bottom, hop on top of it so you can reach the coins. Two of them are Red Coins. The Winged Cloud nearby has some stars. Head into the next area. CONTINUE: This area is pretty much one to rush through. Use the switch to get up, hit the next switch, and run through the red block platforms without jump- ing. FLOWER 3: While the red blocks are still up, use them to reach the Flower from the second switch. CONTINUE: Hop across the wooden platforms with arrow signs, and hit the switch up here. Run across some more red blocks, hit the Winged Cloud for a 1-up, and keep going. RED COINS (15 out of 20): Hit the switch past the gate, and race across even some more platforms. When you see some red blocks above, jump to them so that you can collect these three Red Coins. Head into the next area. RED COIN (16 out of 20): Pound the crate for some stars, then pound down the pillar next to it to collect a Red Coin. RED COIN (17 out of 20): Right from here is another pillar. Pound it down to collect another Red Coin. RED COIN (18 out of 20): Jump up to the left ledge, collect the coins, and jump to collect this Red Coin. Pound down the pillar below it to reveal a hidden Winged Cloud. Egg it to raise some platforms, allowing access to the warp pipe above. FLOWER 4: In this area, use the Kangaroo friend to jump up and collect the many coins, holding the jump button to hover for a short time. Near the end of this coin fest is this Flower. Use the warp pipe to return near the seventeeth Red Coin. RED COINS (20 out of 20), FLOWER 5: Use the Egg Block for more ammo, pound the crate and the soil beneath it for some stars. Jump up, get on top of the pillar and jump to get a Red Coin, then pound the pillar for another. Pound the cracked rock to reach the last Flower. BABY COIN (Baby Peach): Head right some more, and you'll encounter a strong gust of wind coming from below. Using Baby Peach's umbrella, harness the power of the wind to fly up to this Baby Coin. World 1-4: Castle of the Big Burt Bros. -------------------------------- START: Yep, you've just arrived at the first boss's castle level. Head forward, hitting the yellow egg blocks to turn them into yellow eggs, and hit the sides of the buckets with eggs if you want some coins. RED COINS (4 out of 20): When you reach the first "ferris wheel", the left and right coins are red ones. The other two are at the second "ferris wheel"; they are the top two ones. RED COINS (6 out of 20): Before hitting the Winged Cloud up ahead, head past it until you see four coins. The top two are red ones. FLOWER 1: Hit the Winged Cloud mentioned before to reveal a switch. Hit this to activate some temporary blocks. Climb the blocks until you reach the top. (At the ledge below and to the left of the top ledge, at the third block, going from right to left, reveals a Winged Cloud. Hit it for some stars.) At the top, pound down the pillar so you can collect the flower. CONTINUE: Drop down and go through the door at the end. At the new area, use the Egg Block to refill if you want. RED COINS (11 out of 20): We're going to get a series of Red Coins here. First off, at the first rotating spiked ball, there's a Red Coin at the top of the line of coins under the ball. Two more are at the second rotating ball, along with a hidden Winged Cloud on the tiny right-side ledge. One more is located under the giant rotating spiked ball; it's the top one of the little triangle of coins. The final one listed here is the coin below and to the right of the Middle Ring. FLOWER 2: Hit the Middle Ring if you haven't already, and start climbing up towards the left, avoiding the spiked balls. At the end you'll be at a high platform with this Flower. BABY COIN (Baby Mario): On top of the ledge of the last rotating spiked ball is this Baby Coin. Just climb up from where the Middle Ring is and go right. RED COINS (15 out of 20): Keep going until you see a manual "ferris wheel" over a pit of lava. Hop on the right side platforms to make it rotate, thus making it go forward. There are a series of coins here; the last four on the bottom row are the Red Coins you're looking for. FLOWER 3: Using the manual "ferris wheel", get up to the ledge above the door. Use the arrows as guidelines for shooting an egg toward the flower. Make sure you have Baby Mario, as the eggs won't bounce without him. CONTINUE: Head through the door, then at the new area, continue until you reach the Egg Block. RED COINS (18 out of 20): The yellow platform below holds three coins. The middle is a disguised Red Coin. To the right of the Egg Block are four coins suspended above the lava pit. The top two are the other Red Coins. RED COINS (20 out of 20), FLOWER 4: Left of the Egg Block is a purple platform going up and down. Ride it to the top, grab the four coins in the air (two are the last two Red Coins) and drop down into the little room with barrels as flooring. There's two Burt Bros. here. Egging them will transform them into stars. The Flower is at the left side of this room. CONTINUE: Ride the purple platform over to another purple one and a green one. Up above these are three Winged Clouds. The first and second one at the left each hold stars. Get those, then wait for a green platform on the left to come down. Once it does, hop on it and ride it to a crate. Pound it to grab the key inside, then head back to where the Winged Clouds are. FLOWER 5: Hit the last Winged Cloud left to make a stairway appear. These lead to two doors. One of them is blocked, so go through the other one. In here, egg all the Piranha Plants here to make a Flower appear. There's some Boo Guys for eggs if you need any. CONTINUE: Exit the Flower 5 room, and drop down to a locked door. Use the key you got to open it. Hit the Middle Ring, and prepare for the boss as you enter the red metal door. BIG BURT BROS.: Best strategy here is to wait inside the alcove on the left or right, and fire eggs at them. If you need eggs, hop up when it's safe and grab some from the Ptooie Plant. This boss takes around four to five eggs to beat. World 1-5: Catch the Breeze! -------------------------------- START: Just head forward until you reach a pipe. FLOWER 1: Head down the pipe and collect the flower in this small room. RED COINS (5 out of 20): Ahead of the pipe is a Stork Stop. (Below in the ditch is a hidden Winged Cloud on the righ side.) Make sure you have Baby Peach, and Flutter Jump while in the wind to fly straight up. There are two Red Coins near the top of the first line of coins. Using the next gust of wind, fly up and collect three more Red Coins near the top. Head into the next area. RED COINS (7 out of 20), FLOWER 2: Hit the Middle Ring, and head forward to a gust of wind. Use it to get up to a higher platform. Among the coins are two Red Coins, and the flower is to the left of these. RED COINS (9 out of 20), FLOWER 3: Right a little more is a second, smaller gust of wind. Use it to reach a high ledge. There are two Red Coins at the top and another Flower to the left of them. CONTINUE: Head right, hit the Winged Cloud for a 1-up, and drop down, following the coins. At the bottom, hit the Winged Cloud for some stars, and continue forward. FLOWER 4, RED COINS (12 out of 20): Pass the diagonal wind, and go into the little nook. There's a hidden Winged Cloud above the wind flower here. Get the stars from it. Now use the diagonal-facing wind, and drop at the next ledge. Another hidden Winged Cloud is near the wall, and this one contains a Flower. You see the diagonal line of coins following the wind? The top three are Red Coins. RED COINS (14 out of 20), BABY COIN (Baby Peach): Using the diagonal wind, fly up to where the donut platforms are and follow them. At the top, hit the Winged Cloud for some stars, then collect the two Red Coins and the Baby Coin that are here. CONTINUE: Backtrack and go past the diagonal wind, swallowing enemies, egging Piranha Plants, until you get to three wind flowers.
