Pets - Attack pets - Heal pets - Mezz pets - Pet control basics 5. Links 6. Credits ======================================================================== 1. CHOOSING A BREED ======================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHAT BREED AFFECTS ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Breeds have quite an effect on your MP so you should choose carefully. All breeds are viable, but all have disadvantages and advantages. There is no 'best' breed; except, perhaps, what the player comes to think. Your breed affects your main abilities of: Strength, Agility, Stamina, Intelligence, Sense, and Psychic. Your abilities affect your ability to equip most armor/symbiants and trickledown to other skills. Your breed also affects your maximum health and maximum nanopool(think mana). Each ability is given a color in the skill window according to breed. Green are cheap to raise in terms of IP and have a higher maximum cap. Blue are more expensive than green and have a lower cap than green. Dark blue are the most expensive to raise and also have the lowest cap. Lastly, breed affects the maximum -nanocost your character can have. Solitus - 50% Opifex - 50% Nanomage - 55% Atrox - 35/45% (Not sure on this one; if someone can confirm for me it'd be appreciated) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ SOLITUS ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ability: Level 1 200 Max 220 Max Strength 6 472 772 Agility 6 480 780 Stamina 6 480 780 Intelligence 6 480 780 Sense 6 480 780 Psychic 6 480 780 Solitus are the average all-rounders. They have no real strengths or weaknesses. All abilities stay relatively close together which makes equipping armor and symbiants relatively easy. All abilities are light blue making them have a medium cost. They have medium health and nano. You cannot go wrong with solitus as a breed and I would suggest it for a beginner. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ OPIFEX ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ability: Level 1 200 Max 220 Max Strength 3 464 764 Agility 15 544 944 Stamina 6 480 680 Intelligence 6 464 764 Sense 10 512 912 Psychic 3 448 748 Opifex have strong agility and sense, but dark blue stamina. Their abilities are rather high and their only downside, stamina, is one of the easiest abilties to buff in the game. They have approximately the same health and nano of that of solitus. There is not a real downside to choosing opifex. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ NANOMAGE ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ability: Level 1 200 Max 220 Max Strength 3 464 664 Agility 3 464 664 Stamina 3 448 748 Intelligence 15 512 912 Sense 6 480 780 Psychic 10 512 912 Nanomage have very high intelligence and psychic giving a good deal of trickeldown and nanopool. However, their health is extremely low and it can be a problem and may not be worth the slight benefit to nanoskills. They suffer from dark blue strength and agility, two of the main skills used to equip many types of armor. Nanomages can be a challenge to play and have no real rewards at high levels. Not recommened, except for a challenge. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ATROX ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ability: Level 1 200 Max 220 Max Strength 15 512 912 Agility 6 480 780 Stamina 10 512 912 Intelligence 3 400 600 Sense 3 400 600 Psychic 3 400 600 Atrox have strong strength and stamina skills, but dark psychic and intelligence. They have the most health of the breeds, but a very small nanopool. They do not get very much trickledown to nanoskills due to low intelligence. Though the health is nice, not being able to cast as often can be a problem especially at lower levels. Not recommended for a beginner. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ FINAL WORD ------------------------------------------------------------------------ For someone new to the game I would go with solitus. But as I've stated earlier all breeds are viable and can be played to high levels; they just provide different challenges you'll have to overcome. ======================================================================== 2. Skills ======================================================================== Metaphysicists have many important skills to raise and this can lead to a very IP tight profession for the first few levels. I'll list the skills I think are important to raise, but as I did not use weapons until around 150, I cannot comment on using IP for weapon skills. You open the skill window with the "U" button. Abilities section Max Strength - Mostly used for armor/weaponskills if you use a weapon Max Agility - Trickledown and used for some armors Max Stamina - Trickledown to body dev and used for some armor Max Intelligence - Trickledown to nanoskills and comp. lit Max Sense - Trickledown to a few skills Max Psychic - Increases nanopool Max Bodydev - Related directly to max health Max Nanopool - Bigger nanopool, the more you can cast ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PRIMARY SKILLS ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Speed Section Max NanoC. Init Increases your speed of casting nanoformulae. Trade and Repair Section Max Comp. Lit Used for equipping belts/NCUs which are very important for a MP because our buffs take up a lot of NCU. Nano and Aiding Section - Most important section for a MP. Keep these skills maxed as you can. Max your Matt.Metam Used for our nanocost nanoline. Used for our mezz pet nanoline. Used for our damage&init debuff nanoline. Used for Quantum Wings. Max your Bio Metamor Used for our instill and evocation nanoline Used for our heal pet nanoline. Used for Odin's Missing Eye. Used in our creation weapons nanoline. Used in Quantum Wings. Used in Notum Rejection/Nano Shutdown lines. Max your Psycho Modi Used in our nanobuff nanolines. Used in our combat nanolines. Used in our debuff nanolines. Used in our nanocost/interrupt nanolines. Max your Matter Crea Used for our pet nanolines. Used for our combat nanolines. Used for our creation weapon nanolines. Used for our instill/chant/evocation nanolines. Used for crystal summoning nanolines. Used for our pet desnare/root nanolines. Max your Time&Space Used for our pet nanolines. Used for Quantum Wings. Used for our pet desnare/root nanolines. Used for our evocation nanoline. Used for our creation weapons nanoline. Used for Curse of Cronos. Used for our interrupt nanoline. Max your Sensory Impr Used for our nanobuff nanolines. Used for our chant nanolines Used for Curse of Cronos. Used for our interrupt nanoline. Used for our dominate/unmake nanoline. Max your Treatment This is a very important skill. It is used for treatment/nano kits and more importantly - implants and symbiants. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ SECONDARY SKILLS ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Speed Section Evade Close Combat Dodge Ranged Duck Explosives These three skills are your ability to evade enemy attacks. Duck explosives is the least used on Rubi-Ka so if you're tight on IP you can let that skill slack a bit. Run Speed Your ability to run faster. I would suggest getting this to around 200 or so and that should be enough for most areas. Nano and Aiding Section First Aid This is your ability to use first aid kits/spindles. I do not think it is overly helpful, but I suppose it could save you in some instances. Navigation Section Map Navigation This skill is used for map upgrades to your mini-map and uploading different maps of areas. This is not overly useful; however, raising it to 130 to get the most important upgrades can be very useful to see machines, people, monsters, etc. on your mini-map. ======================================================================== 3. Implants ======================================================================== Implants are very neccessary to any profession, but they're very important to MPs. All of our slots are important to have filled, I guess, but their are what I would say six very important slots. These would be: Head, Eye, Right Hand, Chest, Waist and Ear. The store bought implants are actually well made with the exception of chest where I would implant biomet instead of matmet. I am only suggesting nano skills, fill in empty slots as you please. Pre level 100 Head Implant: Shiny: Matter Creation/Time and Space Eye Implant: Bright: Sensory Impr Faded: Time and Space Ear Implant: Faded: Psycho Mod Chest Implant: Bright: Biological Metamorphoses Faded: Sensory Impr Waist Implant: Faded: Biological Metamorphoses Right Hand: Bright: Time and Space/Matter Creation This is a decent setup for nano skills. You'll want to focus on MC/TS nanoskills to keep your pet as high as possible. BM to keep a decent heal pet out as well. Just keep shining MC and bright/faded TS, or vice versa. The Sense Impr and Psy Mod will help to cast your nano buffs a bit sooner. I will try to make a suggested setup for other implants later, but these should carry out for your nano skills and main implant slots. ======================================================================== 4. Pets ======================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ATTACK PETS ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MPs have three types of pets: Attack pet, Heal pet, and mezz pet. They can have one of each type at once. Pets improve as you can cast better nanos due to your nanoskills. Buffing into a higher pet can be very helpful and nice, but make sure you'll have 75% of the skills needed to cast the pet if the buffs run out, otherwise your pets will not listen to you. There are two types of attack pets. The 'meatball' type which you will be used to as it includes most of the line. The second type is the 'demon' type which have much more hp, but attack slightly slower than the 'meatballs' and are also at the top end of the line, so don't expect to be casting one until at least level 100 or so. All attack pets rely on for summoning are Matter Creation and Time and Space nanoskills. The meatball type of pets scale by a beginning word to describe them. The next step up may have slightly more health and hit slightly harder, but don't expect to see a large difference. Using Anger Manifestations as an example: Lesser Anger Manifestation Inferior Anger Manifestation Superior Anger Manifestation Anger Manifestation Supreme Anger Manifestation Greater Anger Manifestation Transcendent Anger Manifestation Each step up would have higher nano requirements, but you probably wouldn't notice a difference until going from Lesser -> Superior or even Anger Manifestation. This means you can skip pets and save yourself some credits. Demons are a bit different. There's only four of them in the Rubi-Ka line but they have a lot more hp than their meatball counterparts. They start as follows: Summon Lemur Summon Fiend Summon Demon Summon Cacodemon The first two are rather weak, but Demon and Cacodemon are very strong and useful. Too many pets to put into a table. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ HEAL PETS ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Heal pets are used to heal and keep you, your pets, or whoever alive. All heal pets are in "Calling of ..." nanos. They use BioMet and Time and Space nanoskills to be summoned. Always try to keep these up-to-date. The higher the pet, the more it heals for/more hp it has/ and more nano it has. Heal pets can run out of nano at low levels, but I've never seen the higher ones run out of it. Nano: BioMet T&S Calling of Medinos 84 84 * Salvinous 175 175 * Valentyia 278 278 * Sanoo 406 406 * Restite 519 519 * The Vivificator 663 663 * Altumus 724 724 * Curatem The Grand 778 778 * Belamorte 850 850 * Mortificant the Eternal (SL only) 1466 1463 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MEZZ PETS ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mezz pets are used to 'mezz' a mob or to stop it from attacking temporarily. It can be used to stop adds temporarily or just slow down the rate of a mob attacks at. At lower levels they may not be as noticable or useful, but are very important at higher levels. Mezz pets use MatMet and Time and Space nano skills to be summoned. These cannot be found in stores, but rather have to rolled in missions. The first eight are just named, then on they are "Summoning of..." nanos. Nano: MatMet T&S Lesser Distracting Sphere 36 36 Distracting Sphere 64 64 Greater Distracting Sphere 89 89 Supreme Distracting Sphere 114 114 Lesser Deranged Mindreaver 167 167 Deranged Mindreaver 199 199 Greater Deranged Mindreaver 241 241 Supreme Deranged Mindreaver 311 311 Summoning of Absuum 386 386 * Ignatus Mind-Clouder 461 461 * Demenus 561 561 * Duoco 700 700 * Distral 732 732 * Confane 769 769 * Balbuto the Gibberer 818 818 * Tumulten 871 871 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PET CONTROL BASICS ------------------------------------------------------------------------ There are a few commands you can use to make your pets listen to you. You can do generic /pet * to make them listen but this would be very tedious so I'd suggest making macros for commands.(ie. /macro Follow /pet follow) /pet follow This will cause your pets to follow you. When in this mode pets will not defend you if you're attacked. /pet behind This will also cause your pets to follow you. They will defend you if you're attacked while in this mode /pet wait Causes pets to wait and stay in the spot they're in when you use this. They will do nothing but sit there while in this mode /pet guard This will make your pets guard you and attack anything that attacks you. They will follow you along when they aren't not fighting. /pet attack Makes your pets attack your current target. /pet hunt Makes your pets hunt and kill the nearest enemy target. They will continue to hunt and kill enemies until dead or issued another command. /pet terminate Kills your pets so you can summon another. Helpful if you do this when your pets are low on health to summon another so that you get past the wait time. /pet report Gives information about your pets. Pet health, nano, NCU, position etc. /pet heal Tells your pet to heal your currently selected target. Now these could become annoying to type in or even make macros for. There is a very helpful program for making macros/naming your pets. Look for petnamer in the links section. ======================================================================== 5.
