Walkthrough - Atlan Weapon GuideAtlan Weapon Guide/Walkthrough By: Arcaida This is a walkthrough to help those of you somewhat new to this game that wish to aquire an Atlan Weapon, though recently one of the patches Atlan Weapons became droppable, but I doubt that anyone who is new to the game knows someone who is willing enough to spare one. I remember back in my day, all I wanted was one of these, and there is a reason for that. They aren't your average from-the-shop or found-on-a-corpse weapon, they are much stronger, plus they look quite stylish in my opinon. --------- After you obtain your Atlan, you can obtain stones to place in them, giving them elemental properties, but we'll discuss these later. -Section 1 - Pyreal Motes So you want an Atlan? Well, your going to have to start off collecting Pyreal motes (this are much different than Pyreals, keep this in mind). To obtain these, your going to have to hunt down some golems. And after you do that, hunt down a few more golems, and then just a few more. In total, you will need 16 pyreal motes. Mud Golems and Water Golems are definately the easiest to hunt down, and can be found not far from the starter towns. For Yaraq, head out to the beaches in search of golems, but not too far, for you'll run into some tough monsters out there. Another good idea is the Wood Golems and Mud Golems that spawn on the hills next to Glendon Wood. These golems aren't that hard to defeat, however, they aren't likely to drop a mote, so I'd reccomend fighting some Limestone and Sandstone Golems. Your best bet is to do some runs through the Golem Burial Grounds. You should be able to ask around for a portal to one of the numerous dungeons, but if not, I'd reccomend trying some Asheron's Call fansites to try and find the coordinates to one. After your long hunting sessions, you'll eventually have your 16 pyreal motes! Now it's time to move on to the next step. Note: the higher level golems have a greater chance of dropping motes, and some even have a chance to drop pyreal slivers or nuggets, but chances are that if you are strong enough to kill these golems, you are far past a point where you need an Atlan Weapon. -Section 2 - Combining Your Motes Now you must combine your motes in attempts to get a Pyreal Ingot. Simply double-click on one mote. Once your cursor turns into a group of small yellow circles, click on a second mote. This will create a pyrel sliver. Now do this until you have 8 pyreal slivers. Once you have them, do the same with your slivers to create pyreal nuggets. You should have a grand total of four of them. Combine them again, which gives you two pyreal bars. Now, this is very important. DO NOT COMBINE THE TWO PYREAL BARS! If you do not have an alchemy skill of at least 195 do not even try to put them together, for you will most likely fail. If you do not have an Alchemist, try and find one, and your going to want to try and find one with an Alchemy skill of 250+ as they have a good chance of succeeding. Now, have that person combine them for you so you can get your Ingot. And another important thing. Make sure it is someone you can trusy, because they might steal your Pyreal Bars, trust me, it's happened before. You could trade him the two bars for something valuable of his so that he won't run off. And if he does, chances are you just got yourself something decent. Now, once you have your Ingot, head to Hub or Marketplace and try and catch a portal to Crater. I'd suggest bringing a friend atleast level 30 with you as some of the monsters there can do some damage. Now, head into the town at Crater. TIme for the next step, but first, make sure you have 5,000-10,000 pyreals to by your glyph. I would bring 10,000 as the price for each weapon type will vary. -Section 3 - Getting Your Weapon The time has come! In the town you will find the NPC titled 'Archmage Silencia' or something along those lines. She will be with a golem up in a tower. Now, open the purchase menu and open up the section with the glyphs in it. Make sure to get one of the grey ones and not the green ones. The green ones are used for Isparian Weapons (which you do not have to skill nor ability to obtain at this point in time). Buy the glyph that represents the weapon that you use. And I have said this before and I will say it again: do not do this quest if you are a spellcaster. Now, make sure your skill with that weapon is at least 200. You could have your skill at about 170 if you have a mage with you that knows at least level 5 Creature Enchantment spells. If this is the case, have him cast Sword Mastery on you (or the weapon that you weild rather than Sword) aswell as spells that increase the two attributes that feed into that skill (for Sword that would be Srength and Coordination). You can check the table below to find out what attributes increase your weapon skill. Once your skill is close to or at 250 (or past it), double click the glyph and use it on the Ingot. You should now have a Super Infused Pyreal Ingot. Hand it to the Golem. DO NOT HAND IT TO SILENCIA OR ANOTHER PLAYER! The Golem will hand you back a weapon dependent upon how the ingot came out. You will most likely be rewarded with a Peerless version, which is what you want. If you get Superior or Fine versions or the weapon, that is okay, though Peerless is definately the best of the three (Superior being second and Fine being the worst). -Section 4 - Stones and the Stone Tool So you want to add stats and a nice look to your weapon? Well, you'll want one of the Elemental Stones to do that. You could either go for the Major Stones or the Minor Stones. The Minor Stones will change the appearance but will not add elemental damage to the weapons. They will however add bonuses. The Minor Stones are on the ground in various outdoor locations and should be that hard to get, so I won't bother explaining. The Major Stones however, are kept within Vaults and I wouldn't go after them unless your atleast level 30 and with a few others. Getting to the Vault might actually take longer then getting the Stone. As the guide is mainly about the weapons themselves, I'm not going to bother telling you how to get through the Vaults. It's not that Difficult, so do this yoursleves. Smoldering Stone (Fire) Jahannan Vault 66.9N x 15.0E Shivering Stone (Ice) Serac Vault 75.9X s 29.1E Stinging Stone (Acid) Incunubula Vault 35.9S x 47.2W Sparkling Stone (Lightning) Amperehelion Vault 56.5S x 72.8W So you have your stones, but thing is, only one fits in at a time. Well, if you have 4 Atlans your problem is solved as you can hold one stone in each weapon. But one Alternative would be a Stone Tool. The Stone Tool is located at 26.6N x 45.8W Whether or not it's in a Vault or Dungeon, I'm not sure as I've never used one myself, I just made four Atlans instead, and I'll tell you why. The thing that's good about the Stone Tool is that you can remove stones. Well, the Stone Tool is fragile and has a chance of breaking at any given time. It could break on your first attempt to remove the stone, it might never break, but I'd rather not chance it. Another thing is that it can also break the Stones, and I'd rather not try and get them again. As for the stones, there are actually two mre. One is the Shadow Stone, which was obtained by very few people. Long ago, there was an event where some of the greatest players where portalled to Asheron's Island, and if they completed the Quest there, they would be given the Shadow Sotne, which is no doubt the best Stone available in the game. It also is not able to be given. As of the patch where Atlan's became droppable, I believe the Shadow Stones remained attunded and bonded to your character, but since VERY FEW where ever obtained, no one is certain. I will provide the stats of the two known Shadow Weapons, but it won't be of much use other than just to know what they are like. Then there is the other Stone, the Stone of Black Fire. When inserted, you Atlan will become much stronger than usual (but not stronger than Shadow Atlans). The staff will retain it's appearance, with two exceptions. The Stone will not be translucent as it is when no Stone is inserted, instead it will be black, just like the name implies. The second is that the staff will be on fire like it is with the Smoldering Stone. This Stone, unlike the Shadow Stone, is still obtainable by completing the Aerilinthe quest, but I won't go into details about that. -Section 5 - Elemental Statistics Major Shivering Stone Spells: Defender IV, Cold Protection Self IV, Blood Drinker IV, Swift Killer IV, Heart Seeker IV, Quickness Self IV Spellcraft: 200; Mana: x/750 Mana Cost: 1 pt. per 30 seconds.
