yes we need this thread

Just gaming discussion in general as the title says. Starting off by saying that there's a free downloadable game called Spelunky. It's worth a try if you like retro games, though I didn't like it much.

Okay this is good, hopefully it will work.

Retro games aren't my thing, I'm more into the bigger ones.

Well, I'd say retail games but I don't think that explains it right. The games with more depth and content and gameplay.

Yeah, perhaps I should just say immersive games. Sure newer games tend to be more immersive, but I'm not restricted to that. I've been playing Earthbound which is a really great game, it was made in the early 90s.

Spelunky, I haven't gotten past the ice levels yet.

I wouldn't say so. It has a retro feel to it, though. I think it came out in 2004 or something.

I really want Metroid Other M. How good is it (To me it looks good but I want somone elses opinion.)

I haven't gotten it but the controls look like a mess. Boss fights remind me of the Gruntilda fight in Banjo-Tooie where if you don't get the aim perfect within a matter of seconds you're dead.

You hold tne wiimote sideways for the main game but by pointing the wiimote at the screen you enter 1st person allowing you to shoot missiles,and find hidden items but you cant move in 1st person so in many boss battles require you to switch from 1st to 3rd rapidly.

You can't shoot missiles whenever you want, only when something that can be destroyed with missiles is in the way and is locked onto. It could definitely have been improved, like having Prime's missile button (down on d-pad, actually it's right but whatever) considering the d-pad isn't used in FPS mode.

Also I would spoil something but I actually don't want to ruin it!

The controls are okay; they make the game far too easy though. That is, when you aren't in FPS mode, which is a time when you can't move or even strafe. The normal gameplay is great, except that you can't use certain weapons (meaning just about all of them) until Adam says you can, which is pretty retarded. It'd make sense if he didn't allow usage of Power Bombs because of their power, but if you could use all of your weapons then there'd be no reason for failure in the missions you go through, really.

I haven't bought a console game in forever, but I'd really like to get Other M. I'd just copy the data of my cousin's game (where I started a new file) onto my SD card and play the data on my Wii so I can start off where I left.

I'd like to see a sequel of the game using the same mechanics, but greatly improved like they should have been in the first place. I would have preferred using the Nunchuk instead of having poor controls.

Question:Does the Metroid prime series take place after metroid fusion?

Other M Takes place between super metroid and Metroid Fusion.
