[1] What are the benefits of registering?
Registered users can make a cheat book, use forums, contribute cheat requests, list games they play, send private messages to other users, gain points and be a part of the monthly contest, edit their answers in Q&A and forums, chat on profile chatboxes, make a friends list, get email notifications, and subscribe for updates to forums, questions, and cheats. And of course other users will be able to recognize you!
[2] How do I contribute a cheat or hint to Cheatsguru?
It's very simple to contribute something to the site. The first thing you should do is find the game you want to submit something for on the site. You can search games by platform at the very top of any Cheatsguru page, or you can use the search bar located beneath the site logo. Once you're on the page you should look in the top-right corner, directly across from the search bar for the "Contribute Box". It will look like this:

Make a selection to go to the submitting page, you can customize more details of what you're submitting there. For a more detailed walkthrough you can see this guide: Walkthrough - How To: Make a Good Cheat(by 5-Year-Old)
[3] I contributed, now why hasn't it shown up on the site?
Once you submit a contribution to Cheatsguru it is sent to the moderators to confirm that it isn't spam or repeating another contribution already on the site. Please be patient as it may take a day or two to appear on the site. If your contribution is a repeat of another one, bad quality, or inappropriate, then re-submitting it will only waste your time. The only case in which you should re-submit a cheat is if you think it might have been rejected for poor quality and you improve it.
Note: In times where the administration is on holidays contributions will take longer to be submitted.
[4] How do I get an avatar/user picture?
Avatar restrictions on cheatsguru.com are 80px by 80px in size, must be in gif, jpg, or png formats, and must have a file size of less than 100Kb. First you must go to your "Control Panel"(look in the very top-right corner for a yellow link), once there look under the search bar on the left for a menu of options. Click on "Settings" and go to the "Edit personal info" tab, the change avatar option is at the bottom of this section. Click the button that says "Browse" or "Choose File"(depending on your browser) » locate your desired avatar on your hard drive » select on it » click "Open". It should now show the file directory in the field next to the "Browse" button, just click the "Save personal info" button to upload the avatar.
Note: To verify your avatar is changed go to your profile and refresh the page once or twice(make sure you let it load fully). If it doesn't appear please double-check that your avatar is within cheatsguru restrictions.
Note(2): Moving/animated avatars are simply an image type, to get an animated avatar you must find one. Try including "animated" or "moving" in your image search.
Note(3): This guide assumes you're clever enough to get an image and save it on your computer before wondering how to get it on the site as an avatar. If you are stuck at that step then I recommend going to Google images or a image hosting website.
[5] How can I show images on Cheatsguru?
First you must make sure the image you want to display is uploaded on another website and you have a direct URL. A direct URL can usually be gotten by 'right-clicking' an image and selecting "copy image source"(or similar), or by 'right-clicking' the image and selecting "view image"(or similar) and copying the URL from the URL bar. Some image hosting sites also provide direct URLs.
For Q&As and profile pages you will want to use this HTML tag, just type it as shown and change the yellow section(URL) to the direct image link you want:

For forums, you will want to use this BBC tag:

Along the top right of the text box when you're writing in forums you should see some white formatting buttons with black font. Press the "img" button to generate these tags quickly.
[6] How can I change text color?
You can only change text color in Q&As and on your profile. Here is the HTML tag to change text color:

The section marked blue is where you type the text you want to show, the section marked yellow is where you enter the color you want it to show as. For a list of web safe color names go here: Link
[7] How can I make links as words instead of the URL?
To link on words as opposed to showing the full URL you must use a coding tag. For Q&As and profiles we must use HTML again, the tag is like this:

Pretty self-explanatory; your URL goes where marked yellow, and the text you want it to show as goes where marked blue. For forums we must use BBC, the tag will look like this:
http://i1011.photobucket.com/albums/af235/Fe7Ace/linktext2.p ng
The above example would display just like this: This is the link.
[8] How can I switch games I play between finished and unfinished, and why?
First you must go to your "Control Panel". Once there you must look on the right side of the page directly under the "Contribute Box" for a "Games I play" list, click "View all". Towards the right side of each game listed there is an option to change status, it will also have the current status displayed. Click on "change status" to cycle the game between finished and not finished. When a game is marked as finished you will no longer show on the "Who's playing" list for that game, but it will still be displayed in your "Games I play" list.
[9] How can I change text colors outside of the "about me" section on my profile page?
You can change color of list headings, your shoutbox text, links, and more by using CSS styling codes. To see the original and well-written guide go here: Easter Egg - How to make the profile multi-coloured(by Armalon)
[10] How can I get a background image behind the top section of my profile page?
You can put a background image behind the section of your profile where your avatar and generic details are by using CSS style codes. To see the guide for this go to this link: Easter Egg - How to put Background Image in profile(by Comrade)
Note: The recommended image width is different on different resolutions, you should have it at least 782px wide to prevent repeating on low resolutions, and over 1082px to prevent repeating on some higher ones. Recommended height is 208px.
[11] How can I put bigger spaces between text on my profile?
Note: Formatting in the "about me" section is not preserved, this means it may look different on your profile than it does in the "about me" section. Most commonly is that inserting large spaces and using the 'enter' key will be reduced to one space on your profile. Use the following tags to create larger spaces.
To put larger spaces on your profile page you will have to use HTML, just insert these tags into your "About me" section where you want the effect. The line break tag will move the text after it down one line, here is the line break tag:

This is stackable, as shown above. Adding more line break tags will move the text down more lines.
[12] What do the stars/badges on some users avatars mean?
Cheatsguru moderators are indicated by a star/badge in the lower right corner of their avatars. There are three ranks of moderator on the site, rank is shown by the letter in the moderator icon.
Game moderators:

Platform moderators:

Super moderators:

As you can probably work out, the game moderators are the lowest rank, moderating one or several games. The platform moderators moderate one or several platforms, and the super moderators can moderate the entire site.
[13] How can I become a Cheatsguru moderator?
There are no set requirements to become a cheatsguru moderator. The most recommended ways are to contribute to the site regularly, be a frequent visitor, gain respect from other users, and be on the site for a while. See this forum for more reading about becoming a moderator: Link
[14] What is the bar under users avatars for, and how do I use it?
This is called the "karma" bar, it shows how your contributions have been rated on the site. It is the average rating your contributions have got overall and only shows a rating after your cheats have been rated at least 10 times.

If your contributions have been rated up more than down the bar will show a green positive number, if they have been rated down more than up it will be a red negative number. The number is calculated from an average and will be in between -100 and 100. It will also show the balance of good-to-bad by the green and red bars beside the number.
[15] How can I triforce?
You can't triforce.
[16] What is a CG writer and how can I become one?
A Cheatsguru Writer is a valued contributor to the site with reviews and guides. The purpose of Cheatsguru Writer abilities is to let people who have proven they have good quality work to have easier access to contributing on Cheatsguru. It includes features like ability to edit all your contributions including walkthroughs and guides, has more chance to show up on the home-page and priority places on the site, able to take part in contests reserved for CG Writers, and walkthroughs and guides can be added to the site without moderator approval.
To apply to become a CG Writer you will first need to contribute to the site several good quality works in the form of reviews or guides. Once you have done that you can go to the home page and click the "BECOME CG WRITER" button near the "Users of the month" section, or look at the bottom of any Cheatsguru page for the mini-menu and press "Writers". Read the section on the page that it sends you to and complete the form, if your works are good you will have a good chance to be made a CG Writer soon.
[17] What is the "User of the month", and how can I be it?
The user of the month is shown on the home page as the top contributor of the previous month, along with the moderator of the month. You can find it down the home page on the right side, it looks like this:

Directly below that you will see the "Top 10 users" list, this is also known as the "Monthly contest". Each contribution to Cheatsguru will give a certain amount of points to that submitter which will be tallied-up on this list. The current points ranking for the monthly contest are:
- Review = 15 points
- Review of game in CG top ten list = +10 points onto review points.
- Review of game that includes more than one image or video = +10 points onto review points.
- Review of game that has more than 20 lines of text = +10 points onto review points.
- File = 10 points
- Walkthrough = 10 points
- Cheat = 5 points
- Hint = 5 points
- New game = 5 points
- Request = 1 point
The user with the most contest points at the end of the month will be the "User of the month", and will be displayed for the entire next month on the home page. Once the month finishes and the "User of the month" is named, then all the contest points are reset to zero and it will start again for the next month.
[18] How can I report something bad on the site?
To report bad contributions as fake, repeating another contribution, or offensive, then use the "Abuse" button located at the bottom of the contribution.
To report a problem with another user(s) you will need to contact the administration. Due to the administration being very busy and the amount of minor complaints that could be sent I'd strongly recommend reporting your problem to me in a private message, or to a moderator. We can judge the problem and relay it to the admins if it might need action taken.
To report an offensive or otherwise problem Q&A or forum you should contact a moderator who can delete it. The easiest and most efficient way to contact moderators would be to post a Q&A at CG Underground describing the bad Q&A or forum that you've seen, and giving a link to it. To post a Q&A at CG Underground you can click here, or read below on how to post Q&As.
[19] How can I make my own forums and Q&As?
Making forums and Q&As on Cheatsguru is easy. Let's start with forums. First you should go to the game page you want to add a forum to, along the left side under the search bar you should see a game menu list that looks like this:

Select the "Forums" option to go to the forums page, there should be a list of any forums that are already made for that page. Before adding a new one you should check someone hasn't already made the forum that you plan to make. Above the forums list near the game menu list you will see a section like this:
Click the "Start new thread" button to make your own, it's that easy!
To make Q&As you will want to go to the game page you want to add a new question to. There are two ways to do this, the quickest is to select the "Question" option on the "Contribute Box" in the top-right corner of the page. It looks like this:

That will jump you straight to the submitting page for a Q&A. The other way is to select the "Q&A" option in the game menu list on the top-left side of the page. Once there you will see a list of the other questions for that game listed by most-recent first. On the right side under the "Contribute Box" you should see a section that looks like this:
Clicking that jumps you to the question submitting page. Now you can easily submit your own forums and questions!
[20] How can I put lines across my profile page?
I have wrote a hint explaining how to use CSS to make easily customizable lines on your profile page, go to this link to see it: Easter Egg - Profile Lines(by Custard)
[21] What is the "User activity by game platforms" section of my profile?
Ever wondered what this section is and how it works? Here's an example picture of the section:

It's a percentage rating based only on the contributions you submit, not the games you add to the "Games I play" list. Reviews don't affect the averages either, they don't count. The reason of this section is to show an over-view of what platforms you use the most, and it looks nice when you add more cheats on several platforms.
