Walkthrough - Archer/Warrior GuideGUIDE TO THE RANGED ONES No matter which land you're from, the ranged ones are better levelers in the long run. Period. If you're the archer type in your realm, at higher levels you can do as much as 600+ several times before melee is initiated. As a spellcaster, you may do the same damage from the same range with spells, or your pet will do beastial damage with the buffs and/or chain-summoning you do. No matter which type you are, just specialize in anything that can dish out/prevent damage be it spells or arrows or knives, and many people will group with you (if you even let them, soloing should be a piece of cake for you by now). But, my experiences being a little in all realms, I find I like the Ranger from Hibernia, and the Cabalist from Albion the best, the Runemaster/Spiritmaster of Midgard coming both in second on my list, followed by the Hunter of Midgard (yes, the hunter is the bow person in Midgard, suprise!). Also, if you do group, try to group with your same class or something similar (Cabalist and Cabalist, Ranger and Ranger); you'll generally find you level faster that way for some reason. GUIDE TO THE BRAVE WARRIOR OK guys, you've had your fill of the ranged guide, and now you want to know what we folk of the sword do in general. Fine, here it goes. If you are a warrior type (those suite for melee) then in the beginning you can solo yellows and almost oranges with even moderate equipment. In the beginning! As the levels of monster you're fighting progress, you have to upgrade to better than average stuff, usually costing more than you have, and your incredibly high HP increase rates will no longer suffice. This is ok, you will get over it. Generally, if you're a warrior type, you want to go either for dual-wielding classes at 5 or (if possible) go for the melee/caster hybrids, i.e. Hibernia's Champion. These casual caster spells can make a tremendous impact upon your fighting ability and you will soon find that your average equipment not only suffices, but between it and your spells, you can finally solo the orange creatures you see everywhere and will also become the perfect soloer unless you're mobbed or come across a better caster enemy (monster and otherwise). For the dual-wielders, don't despair at my unexpected bravo for the Champion types, you possess just as much potential. hilst the spell-casting ones are off soloing, you can too. Try to find two weapons with extremely low delay and decent DPS, these generally do better than the slow/fast weapon combination most of your kind use. Although you wont do a lot of damage per hit, you do it very, very fast and don't go through those intagonizing low-life episodes of "Will I hit first? I better hit first, if I don't hit first then I'll die, but if I do then he'll die. Please hit first pleas.....sonufa*****! The bugger hit first! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and you'll generally have a lower blood-pressure, longer life, and more enjoyable experience playing. Also, go for the techniques that require no opening, they do lower damage then the ones with openings, but generally go with your low damage, high speed style AND they use less END, allowing you to sprint to safty or pull off more techniques, allowing you to do greater technique damage overall compared to the high damagin high END using techniques. HOPE THIS HELPS! -Legendary Archer |
