Ok so this technique requires that you know how to and have a decent grasp of duplicating. This is described by others on this site too but Ill re-post how to do it at the bottom of this thread. Probably the one of the best items to duplicate would be Gris's Blade that he gives you after you return that anvil. This is of course in my opinion as it takes up limited space and will fetch you 10,000+ bucks per trade in. So you invest in buying 10 health potions at $50 bucks totaling $500, then just turn each of the potions into a blade and turn around and sell the new 10 leaving the one original for future use. Now with your 100K+ and really nothing more, just as long as you have space for say armor as its the largest item anyways, walk over to the kid across the stream and stop just in front of him and save the game.

Now no matter how many times you ask him what he has and pay the $50 he will always have the same item, unless you buy that item. But here is where the glitch so to say comes into play, if you buy the item (regardless if you really want or need the item he is pitching), then simply load your game back up (DO NOT SAVE AFTER BUYING THE ITEM UNLESS YOU HAVE AN ITEM YOU TRULY WANT) Wort will now have a new item. Now I get it can be a little tedious here but simply talking to the kid and buying the items isn't asking much to eventually find an item that will provide you with a near 150% hit bonus AND an additional 15 damage or one of the heavenly rings that gives 12+ to each attribute (then duplicate that and bamb you have +24 to EVERYTHING!). Obviously once you do find the items you want simply walk away and save the game, then if you wish go back make some more $ off of duplicating and come back for round two or three (just remember that after buying an item from him you do need to walk into the caverns or anyplace in the game for a second before he'll regenerate a new item now).

--HOW TO DUPLICATE AN ITEM--

As mentioned above this is listed in others' threads but Ill re-post it here for easier access.
OK so the basic theme is to duplicate an item of greater value and replace it with an item of little value (say the basic manna or health potion that costs $50). So buy a few of the potions and place them in your belt on the bottom of the screen. The process is this, you drop the expensive item down and walk away some 5 or 6 spaces (distance doesn't matter its just far enough to give you time to do the... 

I always use them! They close every opened chest making it so you can collect more items/money.

hold down CTRL+ALT+SHIFT and type PowerCrave to get the maximum abilities

Drop any item on the ground and walk back about five spaces. Make sure you have room in your inventory for two of the items. Click on the item and right when you are picking it up click on any of the items in your belt (the belt is the area that has 8 spaces for potions and scrolls.) If you did it right the box where it names the thing your clicker is on should name the thing you are trying to duplicate. Press the hotkey for inventory (I) and put it in your inventory. The original item should already be in your inventory. Make sure your inventory is closed while duplicating until you put the item in.

Once again, personal choice. I think it's too risky, although 9 out of 10 times I use a Goat Shrine, I got Mana Shield. Choose for yourself.

Start a new game. Make sure the water in the well Cain
is standing next to is dirty. Then, go down to the second level
and complete the Poisoned Water Supply quest. Talk to Peppin.
He will give you the Ring Of Truth. Save the game, bring up the
menu, and select "New Game". Click on the name of your
character and select "New Game". Again, make sure the
water in the well is dirty. If it is not, keep starting new games
until it is. Go down to the second level and complete the quest
again. Peppin will give you another Ring Of Truth. Put both rings
on, save the game, and start another new game. Open your inventory.
You should still be wearing one Ring Of Truth but in the place
of the other one should be a Rare Bottle Of Mana. The bottle has
all the statistics of the Ring Of Truth. Note : If you take the
potion out of the ring slot, you will not be able to put it back
on.

•Reward: Spectral Elixir (+3 to all attributes)

•Tip: On the ninth level, players should search for a patch of mushrooms. Pick the largest one, and return it to Adria. Players then need return to the ninth level, kill a demon and then return the demon's brain to Pepin to get the Spectral Elixir
