Walkthrough - Max Life Wolf Druid FAQDiablo II Lord of Destruction Version 1.10 Max Life Wolf Druid December 08, 2003 By, TheDarkArchon TheDrkArchon@wmconnect.com Introduction: ------------- This FAQ is a how to guide on building a Max Life Wolf Druid on Diablo 2: LoD version 1.10. This character was orginnaly made for 1.09d but makes now difference in 1.10. I hope this FAQ will be easy to use. I will also be working on my Hunter Druid FAQ soon. Why Max Life Wolf Druid: --------------------------- Anyone who knows me knows I am nuts about Druids. That is why I am also writing this FAQ up. I am trying to make people realize that Druids are not as hard as people may think. This FAQ has been my most successful. It originally was a joke between me and some friends at school. A Druid with base Dexterity would never make it. Well if you do as I say in this FAQ it will not only have great Accuracy but it will also have well over 4000 life at level 85. This is one of many Druids that i have made but this is my favorite. This character will be rough at the beginning but will really start to shine the farther into the game you get. Heres why it will be rough at the beginning and better later on: Bad: ---- -Can't use the Wolf Druid's main move Fury until Level 30 -Accuracy will be low till level 30 -Using a Shield will do you no good since you have base Dexterity -Life will be low until later levels -Resistances will probobley always be low Good: ----- -Get the use Fury at Level 30 which adds massive Damage and Accuracy -You will be using Mace class weapons which means added Damage Vs. Undead -When you get Fury you will see a huge change in Accuracy -Once you get your Strength up you start to pour into Vitality which with Werewolf will raise Life up fast -With as much Life as you will be getting you won't care how much damage you will be taking as long as your killing -Mace Class weapons have huge damage and combined with Fury will just get better. -High concentration in Fury, Werewolf, Lycanthropy, Oak Sage. Secondary in Carrion Vine What is said above will help the Max Life Wolf Druid do great in Hell Mode with 8 people in a game with you. The goal is Max Life, Base Dexterity, Fury, and Oak Sage. These traits will make your player great in all modes. II. Attribute Placement: ------------------------ Strength - You will wanna spend half of all your Stat Points into this Attribute. I poured into this Stat until I got 250 Strength so I could use a Honor Ogre Maul. Getting up to this much Strength will allow you to meet any Strength requirement in the game. Also it raises your Damage a great deal. Dexterity - This is easy, you won't have to put any stat points into this since you won't need them. If you are having promblems with your Accuracy find some charms or get a weapon with Attack Rating add-ons. Vitality - This is where the second half of your total Stats will go. Its up to you when you wanna put points into this but I suggest pouring points into this after you have put how many you wanted to put into Strength. A fun thing to do is go in Werewolf form after leveling go out of town and cast Oak Sage and put points into Vitality and see how much your Life changes and you'll see why your Life total is going to be so high. Energy - Your a Melle Character, get a Mana Steal Ring no need to put into this Stat at all. III. Skills Selection, Skill Level Stats, Usage of Skill Points: ---------------------------------------------------------------- Here I will tell you what skills you will need to invest in. Any skills I do not mention here means that you should not invest any skill points in that skill. Your first main attack skill will be Feral Rage and shouldn't invest more then 1 point into this skill. Time to list the skills. Shapeshifting: -------------- Werewolf Req lvl: 1 Prerequistites: None This is your first skill and this will raise your Accuracy and allow you to take Werewolf form. This also raises your Life. You'll wanna put more then one point into this but you really should only go one point into this. Later you'll be able to combine this with Fury kinda like the Assassin with her charges. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- Rabies Req lvl: 18 Prerequistites: Feral Rage I find this skill rather weak and unnecssary. It does Poison Damage which later on will be useless vs'ing certain types of monsters in Nightmare Mode and above. Only put one point so you can get Fury. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- Fury Req lvl: 30 Prerequistites: Rabies This is a great move, works like Zeal for the most part, but has Damage Modifiers, and better Accuracy Modifiers. Hits 5 different targets at higher levels or hits the same target 5 times. Helps with Act 1 Den of Evil with all the Fallen's running around. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- Carrion Vine Req lvl: 12 Prerequistites: Poison Creeper This Vine replenish's the life of the user based on a percentage of the users life. Gameplay Notes: ------------------- From personal experience as long as you are not getting mobbed by tons of enimies then you will be fine. Oak Sage and Carrion Vine must be out at all times since one raises your life and the other refills it. More Life = More Refill from vine. Merc of choice is Cold types since more then likely you won't have cold damage in your attack. Act 2 Defense Merc from Nightmare Mode or Act 3 Cold Merc and Mode. Those two are best suited for the job but an Act 5 barbarian can serve as a massive power house with the life you will be giving it. Usually you are suppose to go for the strongest guy when attack a mob of enimies. Well I found it best to attack the smaller ones first because they will go down fast and will be food for your vine while attacking the strongest one making it seem like your not even taking damage. This Druid is the type of Druid not meant for Cow games. My Druid can do Cow games but its sometimes rather difficult since when they surround you won't be able to cast and Fury isn't like Whirlwind and gets you out of there. Best tactic is attack smaller mobs at a time. When vs'ing bosses just go head on attack on them. If you have Mana and Life Steal it will make your life so much easier going head on with these guys. I have no problem at all with Baal. If you follow the tech when you hit higher levels your Accuracy will be very high. V.
