Now enough of all the mushy stuff, and on to the actual message. This FAQ was done for Bloodmoon 1.6.1820, and was written from my own experience in the game. This is just a walkthrough for Falco Galenus's quests for the East Empire Company after you choose to aid him at the 'crossroads' event, none of the quests in which you are nuetral with Carnius and Falco. Things that I highly suggest for these quests are Mark and Recall spells, or items enchanted with these effects. These will greatly ease the amount of traveling you have to do, and I will be writing this as if you have them. I'd also like to note that my titles for the quests are taken straight from the Quests function in your journal. As I stated before, this is my first FAQ, so I'm well open to comments and suggestions. If you wish to contact me, see the bottom section of this FAQ. ============================================================================= Section 2 :: Version History ============================================================================= Version 1.0: 12/2/03 First version, everything complete. Version 1.1: 12/16/03 Made a note on the 'Race Against the Clock' quest after recieving an email. ============================================================================= Section 3 :: Walkthrough ============================================================================= Now we get away from that junk and get to the good part, eh? ============================================================================= 3.1 :: Setting up Shop ============================================================================= Falco will tell you he has to make a tough decision between making a trader or a blacksmith shop. Take some time and think about each, and ask the colonists for their thought. I chose a trading outpost because the majority of the colony seemed to want one, and I also wanted one myself, but you choose your own. When you've decided, inform Falco of your decision, and cast Mark near him. Now take the boat to Fort Frostmoth and tell Carnius what's going on. Cast Recall and talk to Falco. Now rest a couple days until your journal updates. Talk to Falco, and you're free to check out the new shop in town. ============================================================================= 3.2 :: Supply Route Problems ============================================================================= If you talk to Falco, he'll tell you that a supply ship has arrived, but the captain drank a little bit too much vodka and refuses to leave without extra payment. Go down and talk to him. You'll notice that when you talk about Elberoth he'll say things like 'he can take you down anyday', so go back and report to Falco. He'll tell you to talk to Apronia, so do so, and she'll give you Elberoth's Saber. Go back down to the captain, equip the saber, and draw it. Now talk to him and see what he has to say. Report back to Falco. ============================================================================= 3.3 :: To Catch a Thief ============================================================================= Falco will tell you that ore has gone missing from the stores. He suspects Uryn Maren and gives you the key to his house. Grab a scroll of Ekash's Lock Splitter, or a high Security skill and a decent lockpick. When you enter Maren's house, go through the door at the left and unlock the chest (by pick or scroll). You'll find that it's empty, and your journal will update. Head back to Falco and he'll tell you to follow Uryn in the mine. Head into the mine. Uryn is in the first passage on the right. Keep your distance and follow him as he sneaks around. He'll eventually head into the store and stop at which time your journal will update. Head up behind him and talk to him. See what he has to say, and head back to Falco (who'll tell you to report to Carnius). ============================================================================= 3.4 :: Bar Brawl ============================================================================= Falco will tell you that Seler Favelnim has gone on a rampage in the Raven Rock bar. When you reach the door, Favelnim's wife will stop you and beg for you to not hurt her husband. When you enter, Favelnim is the old Dunmer to your front. Step near him and he'll challenge you. DO NOT ATTACK HIM. Let him take a few hits on you, and he'll eventually plead that you attack him. Continue answering with "No, I won't do it," (the bottom choice every time). He'll eventually give up. Report back to Falco. ============================================================================= 3.5 :: Discovery in the Mines ============================================================================= Falco will tell you that a strange block of ice has been found in the mines, and the miners are unable to penetrate it. He will send you off to find a Nord names Graring, who is located where two rivers meet. Go to your World map and look at the island of Solstheim. At the northeastern part is where the two rivers meet, far north and slightly east of Raven Rock. Graring's settlement is on the southern side. When you travel up there, you may find Graring and his companions under attack. If so, kill the assailant. If not, search around until you see a red-haired Breton, and kill her. When you talk to Graring, he will thank you, and give you a special pick to penetrate the ice. He asks you to bring back a sample it. You can cast Mark here so you can get back quickly with the ice (what I did), or cast Recall and keep Mark casted near Falco. Either way, get back to Raven Rock. Head into the mine and into the farthest tip, where it is extremely dark. Search the left wall until you find a block of ice called Stalhrim. Equip the pick and activate the block. Take the Raw Stalhrim and get back to Graring. Show it to him, and he will give you his trust, along with telling you you can speak to his companions for Stalhrim armor and weapons. Not only are these extremely powerful, but they can make you a fortune if you sell them. Choose very wisely, though. Report back to Falco and he'll tell you to give Graring all the Stalhrim you can find, although this isn't part of the quest and you don't need to do it. ============================================================================= 3.6 :: Race Against the Clock ============================================================================= BEFORE YOU TALK TO FALCO AND GET THIS QUEST, take the boat to Fort Frostmoth and cast Mark where Carnius is standing. You will also need a Levitate potion or spell. Head back to Falco and he'll tell you he has a report he needs to deliver to Carnius within 5 hours (Morrowind time--which means not much). Cast Recall and you will find that Carnius is not there. Instead, someone named Constans Artius will be there. Talk to him and he'll tell you that Carnius is out looking for a good place to expand the colony. After you milk him for info, DO NOT MOVE. There is a trap on the carpet that will decrease your Speed and Agility to 0, which you don't want to trigger if you want to get the report to Carnius in time. LEVITATE over the carpet and then go down the stairs (it's safe). Carnius is at Brodir's Grove, slightly northeast of Raven Rock. Give the report to him, and report back to Falco. Note: Thanks to Amanda Spaid (a_r_s@prodigy.net) for informing me that there are three different spots Carnius will be, and it's a randomized script. Carnius will either be at Brodir's Grove, the shipwreck site northwest of Raven Rock, or on the eastern side of the island east of a big stone arch. Thanks Amanda. ^_^ ============================================================================= 3.7 :: Razing the Trees ============================================================================= Falco will tell you that he is concerned about Spriggans gathering near the eastern border of the colony. He says that the trees there need to be cut down, but the Spriggans gathering there are preventing that. There are four Spriggans around the colony, and each one has three lives, growing in size and strength each life. Take them all out and talk to Unel Lloran in the bar. He'll be happy that the Spriggans are gone, but he can't cut down the trees because the roots are too deep. Go into the mine and ask about 'roots'. The miners will tell you that they attempted to cut through, but gave up. Head down to the northen tip, but before you enter the Stalhrim alcove turn right and enter the Abandoned Mine Shaft. Ahead you will see the roots. Get closer until your journal updates, then go back up and fetch Unel Lloran and escort him to the roots. He'll ask for 5 Bittergreen Petals, which you'll have to get outside of Solstheim. Before you leave, cast Mark here, then go back to the mainland and acquire the Bittergreen Petals in whatever way you wish. Cast Recall and give the Petals to Lloran. Report back to Falco. ============================================================================= 3.8 :: Hiring Guards ============================================================================= Falco will tell you that he is looking for guards to hire. Go into the mine and talk to Gratian Caerellius about 'hiring guards'. Do the same with Afer Flaccus in the bar. Report to Falco and he'll tell you he needs some time to get them equipped before he has any more assignments for you. It takes, wait for it, 40 MORROWIND DAYS to get them "equipped". So you can either go back to the mainland and do some stuff there, or, if you're like me, you can just stay there and Rest for 40 days. Either way, talk to Falco after your journal updates. ============================================================================= 3.9 :: Protect Falco ============================================================================= Falco will tell you he is concerned about an attempt on his life. After you talk to him and recieve this info, stand next to him and Rest for a day. When you wake up, you will be under attack. The guards will go and attack the archers. Stay with Falco and some'll eventually come straight up to you and attack. If the straightforward attackers are dead and some archers are still alive, Falco will go after them. If they fight Falco for a while then back off, you need to kill them for the quest to be finished. Going a little too far will get you the message "___________, you stay here in case there are more of them!", but you need to kill EVERY ONE of the attackers or the quest will not be complete. When they're all dead, talk to Falco. ============================================================================= 3.10 :: Under Siege ============================================================================= Falco will ask you to collect 3 Silver Longswords from Constans Artius (if you're wondering, the carpet is safe now). Head over to Fort Frostmoth and talk to Constans Artius. When you head back to Raven Rock and talk to Falco, you'll find that the colony was attacked as you were gone. Run into the mine and take out all the Nords you encounter, and check their bodies until you find an paper/item called 'Tattered Note'. Take out the remaining Nords and talk to the miners in the back if you want to hear some things like "Thank you for saving my life.". Anyway, go back up to the surface and show the note to Falco. He'll recognize Carnius's signature and realize Carnius ordered the attack. He wants you to go and confront Carnius with the note. When you talk to Carnius, as you may have guessed, he will attack you. He has a Stalhrim Mace and is not afraid to use it, so don't take him as one of those commoners you beat up for fun. When he's dead, report back to Falco. You are now Factor of the East Empire Company division of Raven Rock. ============================================================================= 3.11 :: The Factor's Estate ============================================================================= There is one final matter to be settled: your house. Talk to Falco and he'll tell you to talk to Aldam Berendus about your estate. When you talk to Aldam, he'll tell you that he has put torches at 3 places your house can be built. Check 'em all out, and inform Aldam of your decision. Take him to the building site you want and order him to start construction. Give 'em 10 days or so, and check out your new house. ============================================================================= Section 4 :: Author's Ramblings ============================================================================= When you finish all of Falco's quests, you can trade in that Stock Certificate Carnius gave you to Constans Artius for 9,000 Septims. I bought Bloodmoon on 11/30/03, and my first finalized rendition of this FAQ was 12/2/03. More ramblings to come in future versions. ============================================================================= Section 5 :: Credits & Legal ============================================================================= Credits to Amanda Spaid (a_r_s@prodigy.net) for a little info on the 'Race Against the Clock' quest.
