Introduction: ===================== My name is Mike, thank you for viewing my very first walkthrough! FFVII was always one of my favorite games next to FFIX. Like I said this is my very first walkthrough so I'm feeling very proud this accomplishment, I just said to myself one day "ah why not"? So I decided to make a walkthrough for one of my most favorite games. I also wanted to share my walkthrough for gamers out here on gamefaqs as well as the entire web, just doing my part to contribute to society. As a foreword this is not a spoil free walkthrough, I'm going to be detailing nearly every event in the game, so if your looking for a walkthrough with no spoilers attached then you might want to look elsewhere. I hope all of you enjoy reading this walkthrough as much as I enjoyed writing it! ^^ PS Basic Game Control ----------------------- /__L2__/| /__R2__/| /__L1__/|/\__________/__R1__/|/\ |______|/\____(O)____|______|/ \ / _ \___________/ _ \ | / _|U|_ \ S O N Y / _ [T] _ \ | | |L|X|R| | PS |[S] _ [C] | | |\ |D| / |> \ [X] /| /\ | \_______/ Sel Str \_______/ |/ \ / /---------------\ \ | | / \ | / / / \ \/ \ / \ / \_____/ \_____/ Directional Buttons = Movement Control. The purpose of this walkthrough is help you, the reader to beat the game, help you with Side Quests, tips and advice to help you succeed on your Final Fantasy VII Journey. Final Fantasy VII is for both the Playstation & PC, so we will be combining a little bit of both in this walkthrough. Final Fantasy VII was created back in 1997 by Squaresoft, which has later changed its name to SquareEnix. This game has 3 Discs of non-stop fun, action, and excitement for any Adventurous RPG fan. Now without further ado, let's begin! Cloud Strife Age: 21 Hometown: Nibelheim Status: Mercenary/ Ex-SOLDIER Weapon Preference: Swords Cloud is the main character of this story and the game pretty much revolves around our spiky-headed hero. Cloud was at one time a member of Shinra's elite military squad known as SOLDIER, but during to a certain "incident" during that time, Cloud has since become a Mercenary for hire taking up his signature-starting weapon "Buster Sword". As the game begins Cloud has joined the Midgar rebel group AVALANCHE in their mission to destroy Shinra's Mako Reactors that sucks up Mako energy or as Barret puts it: "The Planet's Life Blood". You'll want to have Cloud in your party at all times when present and on the front lines since his sword attacks do great damage and his limit break attacks can really devastate his foes in battle! Cloud's Limit Breaks: ====================== Level 1: Braver: Deals Damage to one enemy Cross-Slash: Slashes one enemy with a chance of paralysis Level 2: Blade Beam: Fires a wave of energy of from Cloud's Sword to damage one enemy, then diffuses into smaller energy waves to damage all opponents. Climhazzard: Pierces one enemy and leaps in the air. Very effective on most bosses. Level 3: Meteorain: Leaps up into the air and fires a barrage of meteorites on all enemies. Very effective on bosses. Finishing Touch: Creates a Tornado, which wipes all enemies off the field. If withstood by monsters it will deal medium damage. Level 4: Omnislash: Cloud's Ultimate Limit Break. Deals 17 powerful blade attacks on one enemy. With the right weapon, this attack is guaranteed to finish off bosses in one hit. * To obtain Cloud's level 4 limit break you must obtain 32,000 BP at the Gold Saucer's Battle Arena. Barret Wallace Age: 35 Hometown: North Corel Status: AVALANCHE Leader Weapon Preference: Right Arm Guns Barret is the leader of the rebel group known as AVALANCHE. His goal to destroy all traces of Shinra's evil, including destroying their Mako Reactors, which is rapidly draining the Planet's life energy. Barret lost his family, friends, and hometown to Shinra Inc. during the building of Mt. Corel's Reactor. An incident at the reactor forced Shinra to attack North Corel, burning it to ashes. Barret has a daughter named Marlene, which he loves to death but regrets having to leave her in the care of others when he is fighting against the Shinra. Barret hates the Shinra with everything that he is and will go to any extreme to crush their evil doings. Barret's Limit Breaks: ======================= Level 1: Big Shot: Fires a large ball of Energy at one enemy. Mind Blow: Fires a large ball of Blue Energy to one enemy, which reduces the foe's MP. Level 2: Grenade Bomb: Targets all enemies on the field. Very effective when faced with a group of enemies. Hammer Blow: A powerful punch, which removes one enemy from battle. Ineffective on Boss enemies. Level 3: Satellite Beam: Shots massive beams on all enemies, which can deal close to 3000-4000 damage. Ungarmax: An attack, which hits all enemies. Powerful, but weaker then Satellite Beam. Level 4: Catastrophe: Barret's Ultimate Limit Break. Shots a Ultra Powerful Plasma Blast, which incinerates one or a group of enemies. Tifa Lockheart Age: 20 Hometown: Nibelheim Status: Bartender, Martial Artist Weapon Preference: Gloves, Claws Tifa is Cloud's Childhood friend, but they parted ways after Cloud left Nibelheim to join SOLDIER. Tifa and Cloud are very close and before Cloud left Nibelheim they made a promise that when Cloud becomes famous in SOLDIER and if she was ever in trouble he would come to rescue her. After Tifa's parents died, she also left Nibelheim behind and headed for Midgar to start a new life. Soon after opening her well-known Midgar bar "Seventh Heaven" she met Barret and created a bonding friendship with him and the rest of his team. Tifa then decided to join Barret's team and provide them with a new home base. Tifa joins Cloud and Barret on their missions after their first mission at the Sector 1 Reactor, in order to stay close to Cloud so he'll definitely keep their promise. Tifa's Limit Breaks: ======================== Level 1: Beat Rush: Unleashes a Third Hit combo against a single enemy. Somersault: Follows up Beat Rush with a powerful Somersault flipping Kick. Level 2: WaterKick: Following Somersault, Tifa unleashes a elemental wave of water drowning the foe. Meteodrive: Lifts the enemy into the air then slams the foe into the ground. Level 3: Dolphin Blow: Calls upon Mr. Dolphin to leap up to deliever a watery uppercut. Meteor Strike: Jumps into the heavens then slams the foe hard to the ground. Similar to Meteodrive but the damage is higher. Level 4: Final Heaven: Tifa's Ultimate Limit Break. Tifa hits the foe with the extreme force of an explosion. Aeris Gainsborough Age: 22 Hometown: Originally born in Icicle Village, then moved to Midgar Status: Last Surviving Ancient, Healer Weapon Preference: Staves Aeris, next to Cloud has got to be one of the most important characters in FFVII. Aeris's chance encounters Cloud after the Sector 1 Reactor mission in the streets of Midgar. Her first meeting forever alters Aeris's life with our Spiky haired hero. Aeris later meets Cloud coincidently at her church in the Sector 5 Slums. Aeris has a very mysterious background and for years the Shinra has been trying to capture her for their own reasons. Aeris has a very strong will, a very kind and pure heart, and will put her life on the line to protect the ones she loves. Aeris's Limit Breaks: ======================== Level 1: Healing Wind: Restores the party's HP with a healing breeze. Seal Evil: Causes Stop to all enemies. Level 2: Breath Of The Earth: Removes all Status Aliments on the party. Fury Brand: Aeris Sacrifices her Limit Break to fill the party members Limit Gauge to full. Level 3: Planet Protector: Forms a protective barrier around the party making them temporarily invulnerable. Pulse Of Life: Completely restores HP, MP and removes all status aliments. Level 4: Great Gospel: Aeris's Ultimate Limit Break: Fully heals the party and makes them temporarily invulnerable. * For Aeris's Level 4 limit break you must obtain Mythril from an old man near Junon then trade it to the Weapons dealer near Gongaga Village to receive Great Gospel. Red XIII Age: Unknown Hometown: Cosmo Canyon Status: Research Specimen, Intelligent beyond his years Weapon Preference: Clips & Claws Red XIII's real name is Nanaki. Although his fiery looking fur and tail make him look like a animal, Nanaki is actually really intelligent and very wise beyond his years. Nanaki was being held captive at Shinra's Head Quarters in Midgar being used for Shinra's odd experiments, until Cloud and the others came to his and Aeris's rescue. Nanaki decides to repay his new friends by joining them on their travels. Nanaki's strong physical attacks and strong magical abilities make him a force to be reckoned with in battle. Red XIII's Limit Breaks: ========================== Level 1: Sled Fang: Charges through a single opponent. Lunatic High: Covers the party with Haste. Level 2: Blood Fang: Charges through a single opponent causing damage and stealing MP. Stardust Ray: Summons a shower of stars that deals severe damage to a single or group of enemies. Level 3: Howling Moon: Causes Red XIII to become Berserk. During this state he will be unable to cast magic or any other abilities. Earth Rave: Attacks a group of enemies with a series of five powerful elemental attacks. Level 4: Cosmo Memory: Red XIII's Ultimate Limit Break: Summons a large Ball of Fire which explodes engulfing all enemies in a ray of super heated plasma. Yuffie Kisaragi Age: 16 Hometown: Wutai Status: Female Ninja, Materia Bandit Weapon Preference: Shuriken Yuffie is a member of Wutai's shinobi clan, and the daughter of Godo, the head shinobi of Wutai. Yuffie left Wutai to go on a journey to find lots of Materia in order to help her struggling hometown. Yuffie meets up with Cloud and his friends on their journey and decides to travel with them, in order to get stronger as well as a certain "hidden" objective she has up her sleeve. Yuffie is a optional hidden Character you can find early in the game shortly after leaving Midgar. Yuffie can be find in any forest or wooded areas where there is grass you can run in, she appears randomly in battle so it could take quite a few tries before you successfully find her. Yuffie's Limit Breaks: =========================== Level 1: Greased Lightning: Attacks a single enemy with a quick Slash. Very effective, but becomes useless after you get Yuffie's level 2 limit breaks. Clear Tranquil: Covers the party in blue orbs that restore HP. Level 2: Landscaper: Pounds the ground with tremendous which deals a decent amount of damage to a group of enemies. Bloodfest: Yuffie performs 10 quick and deadly slashes to a group of enemies. Level 3: Gauntlet: Summons a vortex of enormous energy beneath a group of foes to deal a large amount of damage. Doom Of The Living: Much like Bloodfest, Yuffie moves around the screen dealing deadly slashes upon a group of enemies. With the right weapon equipped this will definitely be her best limit break of choice. Level 4: All Creation: Yuffie's Ultimate Limit Break: Gathers a large amount of power into her weapon and blasts her opponents with a huge beam of light. Cait Sith Age: Unknown Hometown: Unknown Status: Fortune Teller Weapon Perference: Trumpets and Megaphones Cait Sith is a fortuneteller who gives out fortunes as a job at the Gold Saucer. He meets Cloud and Company coincidently when they are touring the Gold Saucer. He gives Cloud a very out of the norm fortune and decides to join Cloud and Friends on their travels (without any hesitation that is). Cait Sith also has a side purpose as to why he is traveling with Cloud and the others, of which is known later in the game. Cait Sith's Limit Breaks: =========================== Level 1: Dice: Throws dice. The resulting score determines how much damage Cait Sith will do. Dice's power grows over the course of the game, which can be a very powerful asset. Level 2: Slots: Slightly similar to Setzer of FFVI's Slot's attack. There are many different outcomes depending on slot rolls you receive. 3 stars = Mog Dance (Restores the party's HP, MP and removes Status Aliments) 3 Kings = Toy Soldier (Six toy soldiers appear and attack all enemies) 3 Bars = Summon ( randomly casts a summon spell. The Summon is picked by random) 3 Mogs = Transform (Transforms into a giant. Cait Sith fights alone in this form. Only Cait Sith gains Exp from the battles when Transform is in effect.) 3 Hearts = Lucky Girl (The party's hit % is boosted to 100. Ensures perfect hits against all enemies) 2 Cait Sith & Bar = Death To All ( Not a roll you ever want to get. When this is rolled Death is automatically casted on the party, which results in a game over. This is a rare roll, but try to stay clear of it) 3 Cait Sith = Instant Victory ( All enemies are removed from battle) Vincent Valentine Age: 27 Hometown: Unknown Status: Former Turk Weapon Preference: Guns/Shotguns Vincent used to belong to the Turks, a elite Shinra Spy agency, but after a incident involving his wife Lucrecia, and a betrayal from his former comrades he was nearly killed and put into a long sleep by Hojo, a Shinra research scientist. Cloud and the others later awaken Vincent from his long sleep. Both Vincent and Cloud share an experience regarding Sephiroth. Vincent decides to join Cloud in his fight to topple Shinra and defeat Sephiroth. Vincent, like Yuffie is an Optional hidden Character you can obtain at the Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim. Vincent's Limit Breaks: ======================= Level 1: Galian Beast: Transforms into a beast with horns that uses Fire elemental attacks. Beast Flare (Fires several orbs that explore on contact with a group of enemies) Berserk Dance (Performs a combo attack against a single enemy) Level 2: Death Gigas: Transforms into a huge giant with powerful physical attacks as well as lightning elemental attacks. Gigadunk ( Hits a single enemy with a powerful punch) Livewire ( Hits an entire group of enemies with electricity) Level 3: Hellmasker: transforms into hockey masked chainsaw wielder. Splattercombo ( Slashes one enemy five times) Nightmare ( Infects several negative status aliments on to one enemy) Level 4: Chaos: Transforms into a powerful winged demon. Chaos Saber (Slashes through an entire row of enemies) Stan Slam ( creates a large skull underneath a group of enemies which either kills them instantly or attacks them with flaming skulls) Cid Highwind Age: 32 Hometown: Rocket Town Status: Representative of Shinra's Space Program, Expert Pilot Weapon Preference: Polearms/Spears Cid is an expert pilot and mechanic, who has a dream to fly higher then the sky, and too become the first man in Outer Space. In fact his dream was close to getting fulfilled that is until he aborted a launch in order to save the life of one of his crewmates. Cid nowadays spends his time trying to repair his old Shinra No.26 Rocket in the hopes that Shinra will one day restart the space program. However that wish never comes true as he gets betrayed by the Shinra hoping to use his favorite plane Tiny Bronco to chase after Sephiroth. Cloud and Company come to his aid and save Cid. With his dream looking further away thanks to the Shinra, Cid decides to sign up with Cloud's team in order to get revenge on the Shinra for taking his dream away from him. Cid's Limit Breaks: ========================= Level 1: Boost Jump: Leaps into the air and impales a single enemy. Dynamite: Lights a large stick of dynamite and hurls it at a group of enemies for a decent amount of damage Level 2: Hyper Jump: Cid leaps into the air and drives his weapon into the ground causing a massive explosion. Similar to Dynamite but much more powerful. Dragon: Summons a dragon to attack a single enemy while restoring Cid's HP and MP. Level 3: Dragon Dive: Impales a group of enemies and creates a large explosion. Very effective, but kind of inaccurate. Big Brawl: Cid launches himself into a group of enemies delivering a variety of fast attacks. Level 4: Highwind: Cid's Ultimate Limit Break: Summons the Highwind to launch a huge salvo of missiles against a group of enemies. Very Powerful. Hints, Tips and Advice ========================= Throughout this Walkthrough I'll tell you of places that are the best places to level up going through the course of the game, as well as where to obtain Enemy Skills, weapons, Materia etc, so look for a "TIP", "NOTE" or a "HINT" randomly throughout this guide. Always buy Hypers! These items can put your characters in Fury, which when you are in Fury and you are constantly attacked by enemies your limit gauge will fill up VERY quickly! So make sure you buy plenty of them! Save Always! Either you're playing the PS1 version or the PC version, it doesn't matter! Just Save! Because you never know what will come up, or a boss you think you can beat kicks your ass. You'll regret it (trust me) so save always and save often. Level Up your Characters! FFVII allows to level at your own pace but that's what the game wants you to think (Thank You Square). If you're below level 15 by the time you leave Midgar you'll be in for one hell of a rude awakening! However that's why I'm here, to help you through the grinding leveling process, I'll provide good leveling hotspots for you to level up and take on anything without fear of getting your ass kicked. Never Run From Battle! Unless the monster you fight is extremely powerful DO NOT run battle. You'll lose out on chances to gain lots of Gil, Exp, AP and other useful items. Long as you level up and stick to the guide you won't need to run from battles. Never Sell your Materia! Now unless you have several mastered All Materia or more then one type of materia you need then do not sell them, you'll see that most of them, even ones you thought were worthless can be a big help in future battles. All Materia is your friend. Buy All Materia for the characters you want to use in fights, as putting all in front of a Green Magic Materia like "Restore" can be a great benefit. Cure-All restores HP all your party members, just like Ice-All casts Blizzard on all enemies. All is very handy level it up well. Also once you master a few All Materia's you can sell them for A TON of gil. Look for Armor and Weapons with Double or Triple Materia growth. Very useful for getting your Materia leveled up faster. **Main Walkthrough** Disc 1: Midgar Series ======================================================================= ================================================ Sector 1 Reactor ==================== After a very beautiful opening FMV you'll gain control of Cloud, you can change his name if you want but for this guide we'll call him Cloud. Before following Barret grab the 2 potions from the first downed guard you see, and then configure your game however you want. Like the past few FF games you'll have control of the ATB setting but for the issue of speed set your ATB setting to wait so you'll get time to select your commands in battle. After you configure your settings head up a few steps and you'll get into your very first battle in the game! Simply hit the attack button a couple times for your first win, and you'll notice that Cloud has the Ice and Bolt Materia equipped so you'll want to use Materia often but be careful not to use it a lot as it drains your MP. Go up the stairs and approach the rest of the team, and then Barret will show and yell at you all for standing around. You can name Barret if you want but we'll keep him as Barret in this guide. Before you enter the reactor you might want to level Cloud up a little bit. Cloud should be at level 7 now so try to get level 8 for him by fighting the MPs. Afterward enter the reactor. Once inside the reactor before following the others up to the top of the screen level Cloud up some more from where you enter to where Wedge (the round guy) is standing. Get into a fight with 2 MPs and a Mono Drive, this group offers a total of 54 xp, which can definitely get Cloud up to at least level 9. After that enter the reactor at the top of your screen. Here you'll find Barret, he'll talk about what the Mako Reactors are really doing to the Planet, and then he'll join your party. With Barret in your party head up and talk to Biggs (the dark haired guy) to open the first locked door. Then head up and talk to Jessie (the orange haired girl) to open the next locked door, go through the door and go down for a Phoenix Down then talk to Jessie again and enter the elevator. Press the switch that Jessie asks and you'll head down deeper in the reactor. Soon as you exit the elevator expect more random battles as you head down, but use these chances to level Cloud and Barret up as we have a fight we have to win soon. Head down the stairs following Jessie and on the next screen talk to Jessie again and climb down the ladder. Grab the potion at Jessie's feet and head down the next ladder to the next area. Now head down and you'll find the first Save Point in the game, use it. But before heading into the next area, level Cloud up to level 10-11 by fighting a group consisting of a Custom Sweeper/2 Blue Soldiers you'll get 84 exp which at this point of the game is decent. Now your ready to continue on, head into the next area and you'll see what you came here for, the Reactor. Grab the Restore Materia at Cloud's feet but you can't use it right now so just continue on to the reactor. As you approach Barret will ask Cloud to set the bomb, then a mysterious voice in his head interrupts Cloud. Cloud shakes it off and sets the bomb, but an alarm sounds meaning Shinra knows you're here! Get ready for a boss battle! Boss Fight: Guard Scorpion HP: 800 MP: 0 Weakness: Lightning Absorbs: None Immune: Gravity, Slow, Sleep Difficulty: Easy Spoils: Assault Gun This has got to be one of the easiest bosses in the game. First off, Have Cloud alternate between regular attacks and Bolt spells. This boss is mechanical so slam it with Bolt spells. Have Barret use his regular attacks as well. If he breaks your limits use them. After a few attacks the boss will raise its tail. DO NOT attack while its tail is up, if you do it will counterattack with Tail Laser dealing close to 75 points of damage! Wait until it lowers its tail then continue to pummel him, keep it up until he dies. With the Guard Scorpion out of the way, you have 10 minutes to get your rear out of there! Before you go, take a moment to equip Barret's new weapon, the Assault Gun. Now go to the save point and save, then backtrack the way we came. As you continue back up you'll see Jessie, her foot is stuck, help her, and then follow her up the ladder and back to the elevator. Exit the elevator and talk to Jessie and Biggs again to open the locked doors, and quickly run out of the reactor and watch another awesome FMV of the reactor blowing up. Train To Sector 7 ==================== After a successful mission the team escapes the ruined reactor. Barret wants everyone to meet at the Sector 8 Train Station, so follow Barret to the top of the screen and into the streets of Midgar. In the next screen you get to meet the flower girl (Aeris) whom you'll get to name later. She'll ask what is going on, choose either of the choices but for now choose the bottom option and Cloud will mention her flowers, she sells you a flower for 1 gil, so make sure you buy it, its only 1 gil! Afterward follow Aeris to the bottom of your screen and into the next area. In the next screen grab the potion on the left side of the screen, talk to the people if you want, then head down and into the next area. As you scroll down the street Shinra Soldiers will approach you, kill them. Then run down and you'll have to fight more soldiers. After them head right and fight more soldiers. It seems Cloud is surrounded but luck is on his side as the train to Sector 7 is running below him, he jumps on the roof of the train and escapes into the tunnels. Barret and the others will wonder if Cloud is still alive and out of the blue Cloud busts into the train car. After Barret speaks and Jessie cleans your dirty face follow them up into the next car. Talk to everyone but save Jessie for last. Then talk to her and she will give you some info about how the trains operate, and about how you need fake Ids in order to get past Shinra's sensors. Afterwards talk to Barret and you'll get a cutscene, then you'll arrive at the Sector 7 Slums. Sector 7 Slums/Train Graveyard Pt.1 ====================================== Once off the train Barret will make a speech and the team heads to the left screen to the Slums. But don't follow Barret just yet, instead head to the right side of the screen and you'll be in the front half of the Train Graveyard. Since Cloud is alone again use this chance to level him up to at least level 12 by fighting a group of 3 Mono Drives for 54 exp, not much compared to the reactor but you'll be surprised at how fast leveling can be when you get into it. After getting at least level 12 for him go back to the station, then to the slums. On the next screen you'll see a Save point, use it, then talk to the boy standing near the pillar, and you'll get a brief history lesson, remember this location, because you'll be coming back here for a very serious mission in a little while. Follow Barret into the slums. Welcome to the Sector 7 Slums! Follow the team into the bar at right hand side. It is here you'll meet Tifa and Barret's daughter Marlene. You get to name Tifa if you want. After a little more talking you'll get a choice to whom you'll give the flower you got from Aeris too. Pick either Tifa or Marlene. Try to leave the bar and Barret will rush in and drag the team downstairs. You can talk to Tifa again if you want, then head downstairs as well. Downstairs, talk to Barret, attempt to leave and Tifa will try to stop you, but go up anyway. Try to leave the bar and Tifa will try to stop you again. After a flashback down memory lane, Barret will come up and give you your pay for the last mission, 1500gil. Cloud doesn't seem satisfied with his pay so he decides to stay after all and help Barret with the next mission. After this you get to rest for the night. In the Morning talk to Tifa, she'll be joining you and Barret from now on. Then talk to Barret and he'll ask how to use Materia. If your new to FFVII and have no idea how Materia works agree to teach Barret how to use it and you'll learn the basics of equipping and using Materia in battle. If you're not new to FFVII then just say no to Barret. Now its time to explore Sector 7. Go to the bottom right house, here you can purchase some more Ice, lightning, and Restore Materia, as well as some new Fire Materia. TIP! Only buy one Fire Materia because you'll be getting another Fire Materia later that will be a little closer to Fire 2. And only buy 2 more Restore Materia for now, don't bother, getting more Ice and Lightning Materia's you'll just waste your gil. Get any items you may need and head to the building in front of where you are now. Here is an armor shop, buy a couple Iron Bangles, then head up the stairs. On the next floor pick up the All Materia and the ether, then leave. Head up to where Biggs and the others are and follow them as they get on the train, Next Stop: Sector 5 Reactor! Next Mission: Sector 5 Reactor =============================== As soon as you get on the train talk to Tifa, then a alarm sounds, someone blew your cover, so you have 15 seconds to get from car to car before you get caught. Before leaving this car talk to the guy laying on the seat to get a Phoenix Down, then proceed to the next car. On the next car talk to the last guy to get a Hi-Potion, then proceed to the next car. On the next car run down and a guy will try to steal some of your gil, chase him down to get it back and hurry to the last car. It's time to escape from this train so watch Tifa jump off, then Cloud will go, then Barret will follow suit. You will be in the Winding Tunnel heading north will take you to the reactor, but instead head south until you get to the end of the tunnel, you'll find more Shinra Soldiers waiting for you down here. TIP! Fight these soldiers! They offer 84 exp each time you kill a group of them, which is great power leveling for this point in the game! At this point if you've been following the guide Cloud should be around level 12, fight these soldiers, and level him up to at least level 15, that way you won't need to grind level at least until you are about to leave Midgar. Once your party is leveled up good head back north and you'll see your way blocked by sensors so check the left side of the screen and choose to go below. The path here is pretty linear, go to where Wedge is standing and climb the ladder then grab the potion that's near Jessie and head to the left and go below. Down here talk to Biggs and he will leave, then go left and grab the Tent then save your game at the save point. Then climb the ladder Biggs was near and enter the reactor. Sector 5 Reactor ======================== Déjà vu much? This looks just like the inside of the Sector 1 Reactor! Just like the first one the path is really linear here so go through the door to the next screen and climb the ladder down, then climb the other ladder down, just keep heading down. You'll find another save point, save if you haven't already, then head to the reactor's core. As you approach the reactor Cloud will collapse and you be treated to a flashback. After the flashback Cloud will get a grip and set the bomb. Surprize, Surprize! No time limit, no boss..yet. Now time to backtrack once again, go back the way we came and when you get to the point when we entered this reactor climb the stairs like the first reactor and enter the elevator. Hit the switch to go up then exit. When you exit pick up the ether inside the yellow box, then head into |
