wack up their reputation to full and boost their finances to make yourself rich. also make your training facilities to noch
this will allow you to sign some awesome youth players and as you are in the lower league they play every game and become awesome.
I did this with accrington and my team have won 26 league games out fo 26 the team is:

Vanden Borre
Steven Taylor
Felipe
Marcelo
Nani
Lucas
Anderson
Babel
Nsue
and a brasilian youngster 18 immense in real life nicknamed the seal but cant remember his real name lol
note: some of the players are hard to get work permits for but their are ways around the work permit sitch i'll let you work that out for yourself ;)
this has worked awesomely for me and you should try it
also try out things with the editor my fave so far was changing wayne rooneys age to be 13 and letting him come through my youth ranks :) immense is the only word you can use
