I am Aussie and started as Adelaide Utd. Won with them - league, cup, champions league -
then applied for Australia job, got it, and got head-hunted by Inter. 

Expensive crap players suck. Can them on a mutual if you have to. The best players come
from the Under Age National teams. Pick up players for all under 2mill. If already
established by selective for key attributes if you are going to spend big. Some
Midfielders look rather crap but fit into midfield beautifully.

Speed kills. The only guy allowed in the team without pace better do Cnrs, Frees and
Penalties a la Fabio Grosso.

Formation: 1 x goalie set to goalie with short passing (J Cesar, Brazil_Marco Amelia,
Italy)
           2 x centre backs (pref one real tall one really fricken good all round) set as
centre backs (Ivan Cordoba, Columbia_Pepe, Brazil_Nicolas Burdisso, Argentina_Walter
Samuel, Argentina_Andrea Mei, Italy plus youngsters)
           2 x wingbacks that drop back (shift key) set as defensive midfielders with man
marking that cross a lot from mixed (Fabio Grosso, Italy_Maxwell, Brazil_Maurice Munoz,
France_Pablo Zabaleta, Argentina)
           1 x defensive midfielder set as defensive midfielder (Patrick Viera,
Senegal_Vincenzo Grella, Australia_Daniel maa Boomsong, Cameroon plus youngsters)
           1 x central midfielder set as attacking midfielder (Matteo Cardinali, Italy)
this is perfect for an outright MC but I use both AMC and DM in the position which can be
set to attack of defend as neccesary. Can be a very dangerous player. make sure
throughballs are set to often.
           2 x Wide attacking midfielders set to run forwards (shift key) and set as
wingers with man marking. I like to have a lot of wingers to rotate. (Mancini,
Brazil_Franck Ribery, France_Lucas Trecharrichi, ?_Pedro Leon, Spain_Gianluca Capolei,
Italy)
           1 x central attacking midfielder set to attacking midfielder with throughballs
turned off. (Julio Baptista, Brazil_Dejan Stankovich, need good young CAM)
           1 x central striker set as striker with all 4 lower attributes set to the
middle. acceleration, anticipation, off the ball and pace are lethal with good dribbling
and finishing. (Adriano, Brazil_Zlatan Ibrahimovich, Sweden_Goran Slavkovski, Sweden with
heaps of younger wannabes)

There are so many strikers in the game. Find three that suit your needs, need not all be
super expensive.

Be prepared to rotate your playing staff a bit so that A. you always field a team full of
100% fit players and B. when players get injured/suspended (always happens for big crucial
games) you can replace them with fully fit proven performers C. you know who to cut and
who to keep.

This team averages 2.5 goals per game and concedes 0.5 goals per game. I never change the
formation or other team instructions or ever have to specifically man anyone up. 

This formation also took Australia to the Semi-finals of the world cup, no cheating, no
lie. Beat England in round of 16, beat check republic in Qtr, smashed paraguay in group,
drew argentina in group lost argentina in 3rd place play off (hey, they have some great
players), drew switzerland in group , lost to France in Semi. Joshua Kennedy with world
cup Golden Boot and Tim Cahill as player of the tournamant.

A good way of testing your team is to set it and forget it. Set your line-up, foramtion
and tactics then go on holiday for an entire season. An Inter team not quite as good as
the one listed above with a couple of bad injuries finished 3rd in league, semifinal of
Champions league lost one nil in extra, final of the italian cup, lost 2-1 in extra etc.

Remember, young players are cheap and can come through into your team nicely, especially
if you set the U20's the same as the firsts.
