Example: Plasma weapons are more effective against graviton shields, less effective against molecular shields and 'normal' effective against positron shields. The damage dealt to a shield is ALWAYS modified by one fifth (20%), no matter if you use a laser or a particle weapons and no matter if it's against a light fighter shield or against a freighter shield. Example: Angelito I (Cl. 5) Basic shield damage: 60 72 against molecular shield (60 + 60 / 5 = 60 + 12 = 72) 60 against graviton shield (60 + 0 = 60) 48 against positron shield (60 - 60 / 5 = 60 - 12 = 48) You see, because it's only one fifth of the basic damage, it doesn't make much of a difference, one fourth or more would be more hurting. As a basic rule: The more damage, the bigger difference. Of course only shield damage is modified, the hull damage is always the same (there isn't a shield anymore if hull damage counts!).
