This guide uses a Quick Search Feature which takes advantage of the Find
feature used by many web browsers. This feature will allow you to go to any
chapter or section in this guide quickly.
On the left side of many of the chapters, as well as the right side of each
of the major section headers, in the Table of Contents is a four character
code. To access any of those chapters or sections do CTRL-F (PC) or Clover-F
(Mac) to activate the Find feature in the web browser. Then enter the code in
BRACKETS (or at least the left bracket) like this:

You will notice that the chapters for the Main Story Missions do not have a
four character code. They are accessed a little differently. To access any of
the Main Story Mission chapters you activate the Find feature and enter the >
character followed by the chapter number like this:

has it's own four character code. Should you want to quickly go back to the

My name is Robert Allen Rusk and I am a hardcore gamer with about 30+ years
of gaming experience. I am an ex-gametester (Broderbund Software, LucasArts
Games, Point Of View Computing) and an ex-arcade attendant (Namco
Cyberstation - Pier 39, San Francisco, CA).
I also own multiple systems such as the Sega Dreamcast, Super Nintendo,
Nintendo 64, Atari Jaguar, PlayStation 1 and 2, Xbox and Xbox 360.
I currently work at JCPenneys at one of the malls here in San Antonio, TX.
Retail isn't the best job in the world but JCPenneys is a very stable company
unlike some of the other places I have worked for in the past like internet
service providers or web programming companies.
I started writing guides in 2003 because I felt it was something I could do
utilizing my writing skills gained in college and gametesting along with my
passion for vidgames. Over time I have honed my overall writing and
organization skills plus my creative thinking skills. I have extended the
play value of the games I have written guides and FAQs for many times over
plus I have received many letters from all over the world.
I am also what one may call an RGB enthusiast. I hack my game consoles to try
to get the best possible video from them and that usually involves tapping
into the RGB Analog video signals and using them on the right monitors to
achieve my desires. To this end I became a member of the GamesX.com mod forum
and I post regularly on their "RGB + Video Discussions" forum area.
In addition, I am a member of the X-Otic Computer Systems of San Antonio
(www.xcssa.org), a group who specializes in Linux, Mac and other systems.
I am also a regular forum poster at GameFAQs, an occasional poster at
www.Atariage.com and Digital Press and I am also a member of the MOFAT (a
members only message board set up by "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" players
who met on the "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" message boards at GameFAQs).
Outside of gaming, my interests include Godzilla (I have been a G-Fan since
the age of ten) and Red Dwarf (I own all eight series on DVD).
As far as favorite sports teams go my teams are the San Antonio Spurs (NBA)
[the local team], the Denver Broncos (NFL) [although I live in Texas I am
originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado] and the Air Force Falcons (NCAA
Football).

This guide was constructed using TextWrangler 2.3 on a 1.5Ghz Single Core
Intel Mac Mini. I view my work in Safari to help in seeing how it would look
on the web and correct format errors.
I also play "Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned" on a Viewsonic A70 RGB
monitor using the Xbox 360 VGA cable.
When I do my writing and guide revisions I run my Mac (on a Dell monitor)
alongside the Xbox 360 (on my Viewsonic A70 monitor). This way I can
simultaneously play and make changes to the guide at the same time.
The sound is hooked up to an old stereo box I got from Radio Shack when I
acquired my first Amiga 500 in 1990 and it has served me well considering its
age.

When I first posted my initial version of my "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City"
guide in 2003, I did not know how well it would go over and how many people

The main emphasis of this guide is to provide creative and simple solutions
to many of the missions of "Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned". Many
hours were spent going over each mission and finding unique ways to solve
them. I think you will be surprised by many of the solutions found here.
I have worked hard to make sure that this guide is as complete as possible
but at the same time leave room for exploration. I hope that you enjoy this
guide as much as learn from it.
While this guide was written initially for the Xbox 360 version of the game,
this guide will also benefit those with the PS3 version. If any of the
strategies in this guide won't work in the PS3 version, feel free to write me
and let me know so I can make additional adjustments in future revisions.
Another emphasis of this guide is ORDER. If you do the missions and tasks in
a certain order, the game will be easier and more fun for you. You don't
absolutely have to do them in the order I have suggested but as you read the
guide you will see how it benefitted me.

guide. In addition there is a three letter Region Prefix (listings below)
indicating a particular area where the item can be found (in these examples I

"Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned" is a additional chapter to "Grand
Theft Auto IV" that can be downloaded onto the Xbox 360 or played from the
"Episodes From Liberty City" disc (explained later).
A very interesting addition to the main game. Much shorter than GTA IV but
tells the story of another character within Niko Bellic's story. The story of
Johnny Klebitz also intersects with Niko's on a couple of missions and a few
others help to set up some missions within GTA IV.
There are also a couple of points where TBoGT also intersects with "GTA IV:
The Ballad of Gay Tony".
This game introduces new weapons, vehicles, races, conflicts and radio
material.
All in all, a pretty good game and well worth the purchase regardless of
whether you do the download or play from the EFLC disc.
Now, let's look over the game in detail.....

The first thing to note about TLaD is that it is not a separate game from GTA
IV but becomes part of it. This means that it uses the same game save slots
as GTA IV so, if you want to preserve your GTA IV game saves, you will need a
Memory Unit to transfer them to.
In addition, the Accomplishments list for TLaD also becomes part of GTA IV's
list. However, because TLaD is an addition rather than a standalone game,
there are far fewer Accomplishments and for a grand total of 250 GS.
Of course, the game requires the GTA IV game disc to run. For the first time
you run TLaD you need to go into the Game menu, select New and choose TLaD.
After running TLaD for the first time, whenever you you put in the GTA IV
disc later, it will run TLaD instead of GTA IV. Whenever you need to play GTA
IV proper you will need to have a game save from GTA IV in one of your game
save slots or a Memory Unit and load it to switch back to GTA IV.

"Episodes From Liberty City" is a disc that contains the two GTA IV expansion
games "The Lost and Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony". Both of these games
were released first as downloadable content (for the Xbox 360) and becomes
part of the overall GTA IV story.
A brief synopsis of each game as taken from the game manual:

Across the West River from glamorous Algonquin lies Alderney; home to
industrial wastelands, strip malls, dreary suburbia and The Lost
Motorcycle Club, a notorious biker gang. A motley band of thieves,
murderers and drug-runners. The Lost have sworn to live by their own
rules, above the law and in complete allegiance to the brotherhood.
Billy Grey, the club's president, has one set of priorities: bikes,
booze, babes and blow: in any order and preferably all at the same time.
His second-in-command, Johnny Klebitz, knows that time is running out for
this gang of outlaws, and with money to be made in Liberty City, he is
determined to make cash as quickly as possible before they all ride off
into the sunset.
Johnny has been in control of the club while Billy serves out a
court-ordered stint in rehab. He has focused the gang's activities on
deals and truces, instead of petty vendettas and mindless violence, and
has been making good inroads into Liberty City's organized crime world,
even developing a working business relationship with the Angels of
Death, long term rivals of The Lost.
One problem, Billy's coming home, and he's crazier than ever.....

Luis Lopez is a man who solves problems, and when you are the nightlife
legend, Anthony "Gay Tony" Prince's right-hand man and bodyguard, there
are a lot of problems to solve. A playground for vapid celebrities and
tragic socialites, Algonquin's nightlife scene is all about glitz and
glamour, and owning the two hottest clubs in town makes Tony the
undisputed party king of Liberty City.
He appears to have it all - wealth, power, respect - but, in debt to
mobsters, loan sharks and the tax man, facing up to a changing world and
a terrible economy, and under threat from pretenders to his crown, Tony
begins to spiral more and more into a mid-life crisis from hell.
Unlike the Xbox 360 DLC versions, the "Episodes From Liberty City" disc is a
standalone title and does not require the original GTA IV game to run. In
addition, any game saves that you have from the Xbox 360 downloaded versions
of TLaD and TBoGT can be used with the Xbox 360 EFLC disc since they use the
same game save slots as GTA IV's.
Of course, if you wish to continue using the GTA IV game saves you have,
regardless of whether you have the Xbox 360 or PS3 version, you will either
need to save around them or move them to an external device for safekeeping.
If you have a mixture of game saves from GTA IV and EFLC then, when you put
in either of the game discs, it will load up the latest game save pertaining
to that disc. If, for example, you load up GTA IV then it will load up the
latest game save from GTA IV instead of the latest game save from EFLC (if
there are no GTA IV saves then it will start a new game).
The biggest difference between the Xbox 360 downloaded versions and EFLC is
that EFLC has revamped radio stations (including three new stations - Vice
City FM, Self Actualization FM and RamJam). Another change is that some of
the map data from TBoGT, new areas where Luis can go, can also be accessed by
Johnny in TLaD (such as being able to climb to the top of the Rotterdam Tower
or entering Dragon Heart Plaza in Chinatown).
One advantage of the Xbox 360 downloaded versions is that some of the new
media, like new radio station songs and television shows, can also be
accessed in GTA IV. The new media from EFLC cannot be accessed by GTA IV even
if you install it to the Xbox 360 hard drive. The same goes for the PS3
version.
Like with the Xbox 360 DLC all of the Accomplishments of both games on EFLC
will be added to the Xbox 360 Achievement and PS3 Trophy lists.
In addition, some of the missions in TLaD and TBoGT intersect with each other
in certain spots. Some of the missions where you played as Niko can be played
again as either Johnny or Luis. Other missions set up certain missions in GTA
IV.
I will make notes in certain missions if they pertain to either GTA IV or
TBoGT.

As with all the other GTAs there are plenty of vehicles to use in "The Lost
and Damned". From cars and motorcycles to speedboats. They can all be used
here.
When driving a vehicle there are some things to note.
First, if you smash the front end of the car hard enough against an object,
like a tree, you may damage the engine to the point that it will no longer
work thus forcing you to leave it.
Second, sometimes, if you smash into something hard enough, Johnny will go
flying out of the windshield of the car.
Third, if you fling yourself out of a car or off a motorcycle at a high rate
of speed you will seriously hurt yourself. The faster you go, the more damage
you will suffer.
And, finally, you can shoot almost 360 degrees from a vehicle (good for
slowing down Police pursuit) and you can use three different weapons while
driving (Pistol weapon, Sub-Machine gun weapon, Projectile weapon, Sawn-Off
Shotgun).

Liberty City has an extensive train system that runs through the Broker-Dukes
region, Bohan region and the Algonquin region.
All you have to do to use the train is to go up to one and press the Enter
Vehicle button to get in. Then you can get off at any of the train stops when
