Walkthroughs --------------- Walkthrough -------------- - This section, as is to be expected, is under heavy construction. Please bear with me as I try to finish the game. I promise, I'll try to cut down the amount of time I spend just messing around. =) - < Arriving in Los Santos > You play as Carl Johnson, better known as CJ. After getting off the plane, you take a cab home. The fuzz pulls you over, strips you of your money and belongings, and drops you off in hostile gang turf. Even though you haven't been affiliated with any gangs for the last five years, the Ballas know you, and they won't be adverse to putting a few bruises or bleeding cuts on your body. Or leaving you for dead. Time to boogie on out of here. - There's no place like Home - Run over to the bike, hop on, and get moving towards the CJ Icon on the map. You actually shouldn't have much trouble with rival gang members as long as you keep moving, and head TOWARDS the icon. I only had trouble when I detoured... so, don't do that. - BMXing for Dummies - Bikes, though similar to motorcycles, are new to GTA, and they have their own controls. Holding X will move you at a nice speed. Tapping X will start pedalling faster. Holding L1 will crouch you for a bunny hop, and releasing it will make you bunny hop. While crouched, you can't pedal, so get speed before you jump, mmmkay? Bunny hops are actually one of the most useful things in the game. While wheeling around, you can avoid quite a few scrapes by bunny hopping. CJ gets enough air to get onto most cars, so he can avoid becoming road pizza simply by jumping on the hood of an oncoming vehicle - even Police Cars! This _usually_ has the odd side effect of shooting you into the air with a slight forward velocity. Getting onto rooftops and such can be easy with this little trick, so escaping gang members and cops can be a lot easier if you know what you're doing. Be warned, this doesn't work so well with 'taller' cars or the flat part of pick-up trucks. I am digressing, sorry. < Home at last > CJ comes home to his dead mother's house. While remembering his family life before his move to Liberty City, a large man attacks him. CJ recognizes him as old friend, Big Smoke. Happy meeting ensues. Smoke and CJ go to the cemetary, where they find Kendl, Sweet and Ryder. Kendl is CJ's sister, while Sweet is CJ's older brother. Ryder, Kendl and Sweet are all members of the Orange Grove Families - the gang CJ used to be in. Sweet is mad at CJ for running away, and Kendl is dating a Mexican named Cesar, which Sweet is also mad at. Before much else can happen, the Ballas come and destroy Smoke's car, so the crew grabs a set of nearby bikes and makes for the neighborhood. - Playing chicken with gun toting gang members - This next part can be a little tricky. Basically, stay with the gang, designated by the marker. The Ballas will come and shoot at you. This is where having a little skill with the bike can help you. If you fall or somehow get behind their car, they will most likely slow down or even stop to wait for you. Take this chance to pop a bunny hop onto their car and just ride over them. During the escape, you'll stop following Sweet and start following Ryder. Just keep riding home. The Ballas shouldn't give you much trouble. Ride into the circle, and gain some respect. < Unwanted > CJ insists that he'll stick around. Sweet isn't too happy about the idea. - Home, Again - You are now able to save your game. It's usually a good idea to do so. I'll wait. - wakey wakey - Your house has your room, upstairs. It's useless, right now. Across from your room is a door that leads to a wardrobe - from here you'll be able to change your clothes. As all your stuff was taken by the cops, you currently don't have any clothes, and this room is also useless. Later, though. One thing I suggest is to find a car, jack it, and cruise the neighborhoods nearby. Run over some guys here and there. They'll drop cash and occasionally weapons. I headed straight out from the Grove Street Cul-De-Sac, and I found a guy who had a pistol and $2K on him. Believe me, at this stage of the game, every little bit helps. You'll be able to afford a little more in the ways of haircuts and clothes. Head over to Ryder's place when you get around to it. < Changes > CJ gets a phone call from Sweet. Sweet explains that the Grove Street Families aren't big anymore, and that CJ should watch his back. [Ryder] A pizza place is painting over Grove Street tags, and Ryder wants to teach them a lesson. First, though, CJ seriously needs a haircut, so get that done. If you followed my advice above, and got some extra money, you'll have your choice of which hair you'd like, but if not, the game'll give you enough for at least a basic cut. That done, head out, and Ryder suggests that you get some food, as you're too skinny. Alas, hold L1, and you will find that you have a whole new set of stats you have to keep balanced. Though not as bad as The Sims, you'll need to keep yourself healthy. Head into the Well-Stacked Pizza. Hell, you might even be low on health, so get on in there. Another new game feature - you can order different meals. Go up to the counter and order any meal you can comfortably afford. if you spent ALL your money on a new haircut, then the game will give you two dollars to get a basic meal. Remember not to target the clerks, even while unarmed. < This is a raid! > After getting your food, Ryder will come in and stick up the clerk, who isn't at all intimidated. CJ argues with Ryder, giving the clerk time to pull out the boomstick. Ryder and CJ run like hell. - sad, sad retreat - Once outside and in control, run for Ryder's car before you take buckshot to the back. Speaking of buckshot, while in the car, turn around and run down the pizza guy, and take the shotgun. Believe me, it's fun to have this stuff for later. Either way, head for Grove Street. Getting home and dropping off Ryder nabs you some respect. But hey, when you have a shotgun, who cares about respect, right? Save your game and head over to Sweet's place. [tagging Up turf] You'll find Sweet and Smoke playing some ball, and Sweet wants the other gangs to know that CJ is back and banging for the Grove, so he enlists you in tagging over some of the other gang's tags. - Taggin' yo - Upon arriving at the marker, the game will tell you how to tag up over other tags. Follow the map to get to the other gang's tags and commit some defacing of pubic walls. Get back to Sweet's car. You'll drive to another part of Los Santos - Ballas territory. They're dressed in purple. Anyway, spray over the tag near in front of you, then head for the other - it's guarded by two Ballas. What you might NOT know is that spraypaint is a lethal weapon. Kill the Ballas, cover their tag and you'll probably get some heavy cop attention. Well, I got a motorcycle and a car, which is pretty bad for this early in the game. They'll likely break down the fence. - F the Po-lice - Run for the next blip. What's new here is hopping fences. Just run and jump into them, or perform a standing jump while next to a taller fence to grab onto the ledge, push jump again to climb up. Yeah, now we're getting around Cali style, yo. As I live in California, I can say that people do jump a lot of fences. Legit. Head up, spray this tag here, then run for Sweet's car and head for home. Upon getting home, you'll get some props from Sweet. - Home - Finishing the mission gets you $200, some respect, and a spraycan that spawns in your bedroom. Didn't I mention that room earlier? Go save your game. In your bedroom, you'll find the spraycan, and a camera behind the bed. The camera allows you to take pictures and save them to your memory card. Cool beans. Grab some more spray, and head out. Sweet's house now has a basketball in the court. Go over and pick it up triangle, then try your hand at shooting hoops. See if you can nail a two pointer from beyond 10 meters. Just for fun. Then head into Sweet's house. [cleaning the hood] Some crack peddlers are making the Orange Grove look bad, and causing their members to give up gangbanging for a life of crack. CJ's sent to clean up some of the mess, just to show that Grove Street's coming back. Ryder will join him on the clean-up. Head over to recruit some thugs - only to find that they're both cracked up out of their minds. Time to make it rough on the dealers. Cruise over to the drug deal, and off the dealer. You should be able to take him yourself with a constant flurry of punches. Ryder will recognize him as a former Balla, and he knows where he lives. Grab the dead guy's bat, head over, walk in, and bust some heads like it ain't no thang. If you're really getting into it, go and beat up the guys who are lying down drugged out. However you get it done, get back to Sweet's house. You score some respect for this mission's completion. Save, and hit up Sweet's house again. [drive-thru] Smoke's hungry. Looks like it's time to grab some food, dig? Drive over to the Cluckin' Bell without killing yourself. Watch as Smoke single-handedly makes one of the funniest speeches in the game thus far. A Ballas car pulls up in front of you, headed for Grove Street. Drive your boys close enough to smoke those punks. Once their car catches fire, the Ballas will bail. Hang back, and see if the explostion wipes them out. If it doesn't, run one of them over, and your crew will wax the other one, most likely. Either way, out of the car, and collect their submachine guns. Like I said, loading up is more then worth it. Head back to Sweet's, where you'll drop off Sweet and Ryder. Smoke needs a ride home, and guess who's taking him? Duh. Drive him home. For completing the mission, ya get $200 and respect. Save your game. - the goggles, they do nothing - You'll soon get a call from Sweet, which basically just unlocks the gym. Head on over and work out. Working out is interesting. You can either do muscles or stamina. The bench press and dumbbells work muscles, while the bicycle and treadmill work stamina while rapidly making you less fat. I find the max weights on both the muscle workouts to be easy enough to do to be able to do a ton of reps with little problem. I'd do a lot of muscle work, and then round it out with some running. After your muscle mass goes up, which will be after two or more visits, you can fight the boxer and learn some new moves from him. [nines and ak's] CJ finds out that the Grove Families don't have any guns, so he decides to go see the Grove's old supply, Emmet, even though he isn't too close to the Grove Families anymore. Smoke decides to accompany CJ. You meet up with Emmet, and get some target practice in. - not quite the same - You'll find that the aiming system is awkward at first. for those of you who still play Vice City, the aiming isn't quite like that anymore. For Manhunt fans like me, it isn't quite Manhunt either, but something right in between the two. Use this opportunity to play around with aim mode. Take Smoke home. Sweet calls you, and the conversation unlocks a store for you. Go to Binco, and buy some new threads. Make sure you get some green, 'cause that's your gang color, boy. If you can afford it, get some jewelry. Once you leave the store, you'll pass the mission and get some respect. Have you saved recently? You now have two places to get missions from; Sweet and Big Smoke. For the sake of simplicity, I'm going to assume you're taking Sweet's missions first. [drive-by] Grove Families decide to do some drive-bys on Balla turf, and you're the wheelman, as per usual. Drive over, get loaded, and start driving. This part of the mission is easy. I typically ram the car the Ballas are standing near each time. This'll usually kill at least a few of them, and the crew will ice anyone who's left over. Repeat this a few times. Each time you wipe out a group of Ballas, get out and pick up their guns. You should never pass up a chance for a free strap, dig? - damn fuzz - Once you wipe out the Ballas near the bridge tunnel, the cops will be on you, and with a two star wanted level. This means that you can't just wait it out. Thankfully, the game points you towards a pay'n'spray. Avoid the cops, and get the car in there. It's free to use, this time. Just don't commit any crimes while the stars are flashing. Once the stars are gone, head back to the Grove. You'll get your usual respect, and $500 to play with. You thinking it's time for a haircut? Have you hit the gym of late? Pizza cravings? Want a tattoo? Get to it. You're already saving the game, right? [sweet's girl] You look for Sweet and Smoke in Sweet's house, only to find no one. On exiting, you get a call on your cell from Sweet. He's been seeing a Seville girl, the Sevilles found out, they ain't too happy about it, and are trying to kill him. Looks like you need to save the day. Get a car from your garage, if you've been doing that, or jack one on the street behind Ryder's house. Make sure it's a four-door that isn't a Taxi or some such other kind of utility car. Head across the bridge, pull up near the blips, and get out of the car. If you've been grabbing all the weapons you can, this shouldn't be too hard. Coming from the street, jump the low wall to the right, head up the stairs, crouch, and make your way foward from there. Go for headshots. Assuming you drove there fast enough, you'll have plenty of time. If you have a pistol with three shots, you're probably screwed. A good tactic would be to drive in and start running down some Sevilles. Once the car is flaming, get out, and shoot what Sevilles are left. Hopefully you won't have to try to go toe-to-toe with a guy wielding a gun. Not fun. If this is the case, hopefully you at least got the running knockdown move from training at the gym. < another daring escape > As you bring the car around for Sweet, you'll find that the Sevilles aren't ready to let you go so easily. They'll chase you to the Grove, while Sweet will shoot at them. Not too tough. Just head home, it's something like four blocks away. I think you get some more respect. Save? [cesar vialpondo] You'll find that Kendl is dating a guy from the Southside, and Sweet is much opposed. He tells you to follow, but you need a Low Rider, as Kendl is going to meet the guy at a car club. Head to the blip, and an old friend of Sweet's will get you some sweet wheels. Back into the garage to check all the mods you can put on your car. Put at least something on the car, and then leave. A paintjob will only be $150, so that'll do if you're on a budget. Look under 'Colors'. Drive over the the meet, where you'll be challenged to 'bounce'. This next section is pretty easy, so bet the max you can. It's much like DDR. It should only take you a few bounces to get the timing down, and then you'll easily beat the other guy. < Kendl and Cesar > Kendl congratulates you, and introduces you to Cesar. A terse meeting follows with CJ, Cesar, and some of Cesar's gang. Cesar saves CJ from a beatdown from his gang. CJ decides to accept Cesar's offer of friendship, and they will hang out sometime in the future. Mission complete. You earn twice of whatever you bet. So, I got $2000. Sometime after, you'll get a call from Cesar, and he'll now vouch for you at illegal street races. Always a good thing. Take your low rider home, and put it in the garage, for later. You're done with Sweet for now. Let's move on to Ryder. Save first. [home invasion] Ryder, while strung out, tells you about an ex-Army guy who has a lot of guns that the Grove can use. Ryder has decided to get CJ to help him break in and get some supplies. You'll drive over to the house, where CJ will convice Ryder to go Ninja, rather then storm the place. Crouch down and move slowly through the house. Filling the noise meter twice will alert the owner. If that happens, you'll run outside to find Ryder and the truck gone, and you'll have two stars. It's a long run home. There's a box directly to your right on the other side of the cannon. Another is in the kitchen on your right. A third is on the landing on top of the stairs, while a fourth is at the end of the hallway at the second floor. The last two are in the guy's bedroom, one at the wall near the foot of his bed, and the last is tucked in the corner of the room furthest from the door. On your way out of the owner's room, check the wall for a cameo poster. Head to the lockup. Going down the freeway is one of the quickest ways. Mission complete, and you got some more respect. Save. [catalyst] Ryder's making some of his own drugs, when the fuzz shows up. Tenpenny and his corrupt officers inform CJ and Ryder that there's a train stopped just down the road with a lot of 'supplies' onboard. Tenpenny leaves, after asking CJ to, again, stay away from killing cops. So, drive over to the blip in Ryder's car. When you get there, you'll find that two other gangs are already fighting over it. Simply exit your car, take a knee, and start blasting like it ain't no thang. When you down them, a Ballas car shows up. Take them out, or run to a point where you can see the driver's side of the car, take a knee, and blast the gas tank. That'll take all the Ballas out real quick. You'll be sent to go and investigate the train. When you get on the train, it'll start moving. Now, you'll be on the train while Ryder follows behind, and you'll have to throw boxes of contraband at him. At first, when he's directly behind you, it's easiest to aim just above his head and throw at full power. Experiment with the throwing. If you miss, it'll bounce a few times and explode - which looks really cool. Pass ten boxes to Ryder, then you'll drive home. Getting to Grove Street gets you respect. [robbing uncle sam] CJ meets up with Ryder, who's high as a kite. Claiming intelligence, he says that the best place to get guns is, of course, the army. CJ lets himself get involved for some reason, and off to the depot they go. Get to the gate, and you have to shoot the panel on the other side of the gate. You can either hop the wall, or you can use a few cars to form stairs to climb on the ledge on the right side wall, and clear the courtyard from up there. Drop down, pop the panel and any incoming fuzz. Run over to where Ryder pulls up to, and shoot the panel. He'll pull back into the opening and get out to back you up. Shoot the guys inside, then step into the forklift, so you can pick up the boxes. Drive up to each one slowly. Hold up on the right analog stick to raise the box off the ground, then do a reverse 180 to turn around and put the box in the truck. Every box, check on Ryder. If he's being shot at a lot, cap the guys who are giving him trouble, then get back into the forklift. On the last two boxes, a guy might run past Ryder and yank you out of the forklift. If he does, get up, and shank him... or shoot him. Whichever you have handy. The last boxes are outside, left from the exit, in between the warehouses. Pick two of them up and take them to the truck. - escaping the army - Ryder will jump in the back and will point you towards the lockup for this mission. You'll be followed by the National Guard, with only one star, probably. Just drive. You might want to honk to make Ryder throw a box out to increase your speed and possibly destroy the trucks that are following. Drive over to the lockup, and get some respect for mission complete. You're now done with Ryder's missions. Let's go give Big Smoke a hand, eh? Save your game. [og loc] Jeffery, an old friend, is getting let out of prison, so you're gonna go pick him up with Smoke and Sweet. You drive over, and pick up Jeffer- er, OG Loc. He needs to take care of some business, so drive him over. You find an old prison-mate of Loc's, who apparently stole his 'rhymes'... along withs something else. Anyway, the dude makes a run for it on a motorcycle, and you and Loc get on one to chase. You'll be chasing him through alleys and such, so take it slow. Loc really can't shoot worth a damn, so try shooting the guy yourself, or wait it out. Eventually, he'll stop near a group of his fellow gang members. Loc bails off your cycle and basically runs interference. Well, he gets off to get revenge, but since he's useless as a human being, it's interference. Either run the dude down, or drive up next to him and blast him. - anyway - When the guy dies, Loc asks CJ to never mention it again, and asks CJ to take him to his new job. Drive him over there, and that shouldn't be too hard. Mission Accomplished means respect for you, and doing jobs for OG Loc. Now, though, we'll go back to the Big Smoke. [running dog] CJ arrives at Smoke's house to find Tenpenny just leaving. Apparently, the crooked cops are pressuring him for information. Smoke asks you to take him to meet his cousin, just in from Mexico. It turns out, Smoke just wants some marijuana. The dealers refuse because Smoke's offensive in his conversation with them. Smoke clobbers one with a bat to the head, and the other one runs for it. Smoke sends you to take him out. This is really simple. Run the guy down, and when you get close, a few pistol shots will kill him. Mission complete, respect earned, yadda yadda. [wrong side of the tracks] Again, Tenpenny is at Smoke's house when you get there. He gives you some grief, as usual. Smoke says he's heard of something in town that'll give Orange Grove Families an advantage. Drive to the marker. It's where you met Cesar for the first time, by the way. You'll be waiting for something to happen... and then it does. A bunch of gang members jump onto a moving train, and you gotta kill 'em. Hop on the Sanchez, and follow the train. Stay off to it's right side, and let Smoke do the shooting. He's pretty competant, as long as you keep the bike relatively steady. Stay on the other side of the right hand tracks, and Smoke will take out the guys pretty quick. Only two things can really mess you up... one is at all the intersections, cars might hit you or get in the way, or the train will run into them and they'll explode. Either way, it's not good. Second is right before you hit the tunnel - there'll be an oncoming train. Just stick to the right side of the right-hand tracks like you have been, and it shouldn't be a problem. Once all the guys are dead, drive Smoke home. Get some more Respect. [just business] Smoke asks CJ to take him downtown, for unknown purposes. He apparently needs some backup for something. You get downtown, Smoke walks in, and all hell breaks loose. You run in to the middle of a gunfight. This gets real tough, real fast. Stick behind cover, and stay low. Basically, kill anyone who moves. After killing everyone on the floor, some guys will run down the stairs. Down them, too. When you clear out the area, Smoke will move towards the exit. Don't follow, but run around and grab all the ammo and money you can carry. Then, face him, and look to the left. Just behind a low wall is some body armor. Nab it. Walk to him, and you'll exit. Outside, crouch, and kill everyone you can target. Keep moving forward as you do. You'll get up some stairs onto a flat area. Kill the people there, and grab as much ammo and money as you can before the scene changes. - daring escape fifty-eight - You and Smoke escape on a bike. Though, this time, you're shooting. There'll be a lot of targets, but concentrate your shooting on the motorcycle riders. The cars will, for the most part, be taken care of. The bikes will be your main concern. Shoot the gunner off, then the driver. Or shoot the bike. However you do it, keep them off your tail. When Smoke says to shoot out the gate, face forwards and shoot at the gate. Later on, you'll be going through different narrow sections, and you'll pass red barrels. We know what to do with red barrels, right? Shoot 'em right as the motorcycles near them. Eventually, you'll make it out alive, you and Smoke will seperate, and you'll have another mission complete - and Smoke will no longer be available to take missions from. So, save your game, and head over to Cesar - and bring your Low Rider. You did keep it in the garage, right? [high stakes, low-rider] You meet up with Cesar, and he explains the race. You put down your pink slip as a bet. Follow him to the starting grid. Remember all the checkpoint races from Sunshine Autos in Vice City? This is kinda like those. Only, a little harder, in my opinion. Hopefully, you can get a good start that will put you near the front of the pack. If you don't get it first time, then keep retrying it, and you'll learn the route that is taken. Once you beat it, you'll get a cool $1000. Go put that low-rider away. Save your game, let's do some missions for OG Loc. [life's a beach] OG Loc's setting up a party for his album release - only problem is, he seems to not have any of the neccesary items. He needs a sweet sound system, and he heard one that was going through the drive-thru. It was a DJ's van, and it was heading down to the beach, so he needs you to go down and jack that van. Head down to the party, and talk with the DJ. Reply postitively twice, and the DJ will ask you to dance. Remember the Low-Rider bounce-off thing? You're doing that, only with the face buttons now. You need to get over four thousand points total to impress the DJ, who will invite you to step into the van. Do so, and then drive off. The DJ will dive out of the van. You're driving to under the freeway just north of Pershing Square with no opposition, so I'll assume you get a mission complete, and some respect. Save, and try to grab a knife before next mission. [madd dogg's rhymes] CJ walks in as Loc is in despair about his lack of rapping skills. CJ suggests that Loc get some help writing rhymes, when Loc asks CJ to go and get Madd Dogg's rhymebook for him. CJ agrees, hesitantly. Make your way up into the Vinewood Hills, heading towards Mulholland. Get into the mansion via the front door. - oh, by the by - For those of you who have a playthrough of Manhunt under your belts, this next mission should be fun, and even a bit flashbacky. I'll give you some bonus points if you dress up in blue jeans, white shirt, and blue coat. The game pretty much walks you through this section, but I'll do it too. Crouch down immediately, and take out a melee weapon. Hopefully, you have a knife. Slowly sneak up behind the guard while targeting him, and hit circle when you're just behind him, for a stealth kill. Move on to the pool room. Stand next to the pillar closest to you, in the shadows, and wait. When he passes you, sneak behind him, and kill him, too. Move to the next room, where the game tells you about an incoming guard. Hide in one of the nearby conveniently darkened rooms. After he's passed, sneak out behind him, and, that's right kids, slice and dice time. Move down the next hallway, noting the same cameo poster on the right wall as was in the bedroom in Ryder's Home Invasion mission. There's a gym on the right hand side - ignore it. Well, you can try to go on and use the equipment - it gave me a chuckle. Move to the end of the hall to get a quick cutscene where Rockstar uses an ingame character to again bash the Driver series. I laughed myself silly at this. This is why you never anger the Rockstar, people! - yeah, yeah, g. back to the mission, please? - Stay crouched, and stick close to the bar. I kept the bartender targeted, moved around the bar, then silent killed him. The guy playing videogames can be killed just as easily by sneaking behind the couch. You can actually kill him from the other side of the couch, so go for it. Move ahead, shadow to shadow. When you get to a darkened doorway on the left, move into it. move across the dark room, and sneak out, keeping your eyes right. You'll see a guard facing away - the last one. Stabby in the neck, and run over, grab the book. - aw yeah, mission complete - Not quite. Well, I did say it was the last guard, right? Well, I didn't take into account all the guards that appear after the book is taken. These guys are all fair game for your weapons, now. No need to worry about stealth anymore. Walk back into the shadowed room, and duck behind the corner of the doorway. A guy will walk up, and walk into the room. When he passes, and pauses at the doorway, neck slicey slice. Head back the way you came. The rest of the mansion is the other way, but the front door is the only way out. So, not to waste time, back the way you came. From here on out it's basically doing the same stufff backwards. Stalk back through the halls, and the doorway to the gaming room will have a guard standing there, facing away. You know what to do. There's another guy in the gaming room, near a couch. He's just like the guy yo offed on the way in, reach over the couch and stab him. guy behind the bar is just as easy as he was on the way in as well. move behind the bar, stick close to it, then move up and stab him when you get behind him. Pause at the exit of the bar area, and turn the camera to see down the hall. There's a guard walking back and forth who deserves death. When he walks away from you, run over to the room that connects to the gym, and press against the wall in there. When the guard comes back, wait for him to start walking back towards the front entrance, then go and slice his neck, too. This leaves the guy walking around the pool. Sneak in, hide in the shadows, against the pillar again, and make history repeat itself. Walk out of the mansion. If you're like me, and you left a bike parked outside the door, then go crazy off-roading down the hill, and make your way over to the Burger Shot. Drop the book in OG Loc's hands, and it's yet another mission complete, and that means more respect for you. < Ring > You should get a call soon. Tenpenny's got your number, and he wants to talk to you. Now you can get missions from him, too. Let's finish OG Loc's missions first, though, dig? Save your game, and get back here. [management issues] OG Loc, on a high from his recent promotion to Fry Cook, asks CJ to help him with his career in a big way. Apparently, Madd Dogg's manager had blackballed Loc to everyone in the industry. Loc wants him dead, and CJ, for some reason, again goes along with it. Okay, head over to the blip, and ram the car. A guy will get out and attack you. Either grab the car and go, or kill him, doesn't matter. Take the car to the pay'n'spray, and then head up to the meeting place. The best route I've found is to take the road the pay'n'spray is on east, then take the road east as the bigger road turns south - right where Verona Beach turns into Verdant Bluffs. Take the second left, and drive up the street, finally turning right into the meeting place. It's two really large roads that let you go fast with little fear of hitting other cars, and... well, it's just two roads. Try it. Anyway you get there, park in between the other two cars, facing the same way. When asked to, drive between the other two cars to the event. Don't hit the other cars, mmmkay? Stop when told to. - I just kidnapped a world-famous manager - Really? Then take him to his doom. Wind through the streets to lose the backup security. I ended up over by Pershing Square, then I took the guy to the pier. Just gun it down the pier, and hit triangle to dive out of the car before it leaves the pier. After a fun cutscene, mission complete, and you're a little more respected, as is usual for these cheap morons you work for. Save, and head back to Loc's place of employment for the last time. < party time > Loc, after leaving his job - or being fired - decides to throw one last party before he goes back to jail. He needs you to get some new clothes and a new haircut, and for you to bring some nice lady friends to the party - just like the girls in all the other rap videos. Cruise over to the nearby barber, and get a cut. Then go to the clothes store in Rodeo - it's where Rodeo meets Vinewood, about. Get some new threads. Then, take a call from OG Loc, inviting you to the party. Seems he got the girls himself. Anyway, head on over back to Grove Street, and save the game. [house party] You get there, and immediately leave, thanks to Loc's rapping. Outside, you're talking with Ryder and Sweet when an Orange Grove kid runs up, and informs you of an incoming Ballas posse. Sweet gets everyone ready, and the boys block off the street. When you get control, you're behind the car facing a lot of gunfire. First things first, get DOWN! You're gonna have to deal with a lot of this as it happens. First, take out the closest Ballas. Once they're gone, Some Balls will show up on the bridgen above. Each one will fall to a single shot. After killing those above, Ballas will start coming from all directions. Deal with one Balla at a time. Once you kill him, turn around, make sure you don't have anyone else firing at you. Soon enough, all the Ballas should be dead. The boys get back to the party, and that's another mission complete. Of course, you get respect, and only respect. Good thing you keep it real, right? |
