Basically, i try not to include any character guide or in-depth story mode. This
is not to spoil the mood of the game and to let you experience the story better.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION
==================
First of all, GTA: Vice City is not an extension nor sequel to the great GTA
III. It stands alone entirely as a new story in a different time, space &
location. This game is somewhat about 10 - 15 years towards the past from GTA
III time. Some of the familiar characters in GTA III will make special
appearances in this game. They are much younger than they would in GTA III.
Although Vice City is entirely a new story, it still consists of lots of
vehicles from the previous game plus some of the newer ones and of course my
personal favourite the motorcycles. Now with those babies, you can squeeze
through most of the alleys, between cars & reach places you never thought
possible. Oh before i forgot, there is the all new aircraft: helicopters. You
can forget about the horrendous flying controls of the dodo from GTA III too as
now it came with better controls.
Firepower is the thing in this game. You have better & more variety of gunpower
for your daily activities. One of the new features of Vice City are assets. You
can buy, own & make money out of it. The trick is to do a particular mission
which only then you'll be allow to buy them.
This game has a better use for the money you earn. Assets! You can buy & own
them with each of them generating revenue. Complete the game 100% for more
bonuses.
Since this is the PC version, it still has the MP3 folder for music die hard
fans. Place your music into the folder and select the mp3 channel during the
game to hear them. There are mods & skins of all sorts which you can download
from the net. The "Replay" key is back. Just do a memorable scene and hit the F1
key to relinquish it.

Bugs
======
There are quite a few bugs in PS2 version. And most of the bugs are being iron
out in the PC version.
1  - Stuck in wall bug
It's being said that you can get stuck in wall when you drive high
speed into it.
This bug has being fixed but i have encountered a faggio that got
stuck into the
engine of my infernus when i ram it at high speed straight on.
2  - Helicopter with wheels
Basically you can drive the helicopter into garage and exit with
wheels attached to
it. It's being removed.
3  - Hyman Condos prizes
The PS2 version must have hidden packages picked up before buying
the Hyman Condos
but this bug has been fixed. Packages bonus will appear after you
bought Hyman
Condos.
4  - Havana Outfit
In PS2 version, this outfit if towards the left of the shop which
cannot be attain.
Pc version has fix this but sometimes it will happen.

Display
========
Basically it is the same to that of GTA III. You got the normal Vice City time
ticking away by the minutes. Your HP which starts at 100. There are 6 stars
beneath your HP. They are the wanted level.
1 star  --- Cops running on the streets looking for you and occasionally 1 or 2
police cars.
(Cops aggression: minimum)
2 stars --- Cops looking for you everywhere with lots of police cars on the
streets.
(Cops aggression: normal)
3 stars --- More cops plus undercover cops in cheetahs & banshees. Road blocks
and spike strips
are deployed to stop you.
(Cops aggression: high)
4 stars --- The standard amount of cops with police choppers called in and
SWATs. SWATs
repelling from the choppers & unloading from the enforcer.
(Cops aggression: very high)
5 stars --- What you have for 4 stars with extra toppings of FBI plus high
firepower.
(Cops aggression: NEED some HELP here)
Note: To activate 6 stars, complete the "Sir, Yes Sir!" mission first!
6 stars --- The military call in to join the fun. Barracks OL, Tanks and all
thats' military.
(Cops aggression: WISH i had the TRAINER running)
Next is the fist icon means you're empty handed. When you change weapons, it
will be reflected at this area.

Hints
======
There are some hints or stuffs you should know about before starting the game.
--------------------
Getting Killed Fast
--------------------
- Never drive or sit in a flaming vehicle. Those flames means it's going
to blow.
- Try not to have to many crashes when riding a bike. The crash will
take some HP plus
when Tommy fly away from the crash, it takes away some more HP. I had
100 HP taken away
while doing a crashing wheelie in which my sanchez roll over Tommy.
- Never run head on towards a vehicle you know it won't stop. Your HP
will flow like
running water.
- Getting pin under a vehicle will also have HPs dropping fast.
- Never get into a gun-fight without proper firepower which ensures your
survival. This
apply for both gangs & cops.
- Try not to do wheelie on the beach, it can take a huge chunk of your
HPs in no time
(only for straight line wheelie).

How to get stars fast
-----------------------
- Do not kill a cop (with weapons or vehicles) directly. That's 2 stars
there.
- Killing a cop indirectly (car spins or crashes with other cars which
result in a cop's
death) will get you 1 star.
- Ram a police car will sometimes get you 1 star.
- Killing civilian (with or without vehicle) will result in 1 star
should the cop saw you.
- Shooting at the cop's corpse.
- Any retaliation towards the police will make rise in the number of
stars.
- Destroyed the dodo flying the banner will get you 3 stars.

How to lower those stars
-------------------------
- Familiarise with the location of police bribes around the city as
there no more bribes
outside your save point. 1 bribe will lower 1 star.
- Drive to the nearest Pay & Spray shop. This will make the current
stars blink meaning
the cops are still on alert but do not know where you are. Wait for
those stars to go
off before you create trouble again.
- Change into a new set of clothes to totally extinguished all 1 & 2
level stars.
- For 1 star, drive around to loose it too. You can also try to fly
around (i think can
work for 2 or 3 stars).

Saving your ass
-----------------
- Bail out of bikes by releasing all controls and hit the enter/exit
vehicle key.
- Bail out of vehicles by releasing all controls and hit the enter/exit
vehicle key.
Note: Tommy will lose some HP but it's better this way than burned alive inside.
For this to worked, a speed limit have to be reached.
- Try to have full HP & armor when doing missions, dangerous stunts or
getting into gang
fights.
- When you are about to crash after a jump, try to make your bike land
on it's wheels
and just pull the handbrake. This way will lower the chances of
crashing.

Miscellaneous
--------------
- View the city in it's splendor. Jack a car and drive around to know
the places, short
cuts, place of entry & locations of stores.
- Do the ambulance & vigilante missions first to gain extra health &
armor. This will make
future missions easier.
- Driving taxi/cabbie and doing their mission will help you know the
city better.
- To reload your weapon fast, just change/switch your current weapon
into the next one &
back to have a fully loaded weapon.
- Everytime you are busted during mission, a cab will sent you to the
previous location
where you accept that mission.
- To get a fire truck before the opening of west island, do Avery
mission 'Demolition
Man' and a fire truck will appear after the mission.
- Get to Leaf Links in the early stages (before any of the other island
opens). The catch
is this is a one-way ticket. Get a PCJ600 along  Vice Point near the
construction site.
From Pizza place, get over the little bridge to the area where there is
a round about at
the 'Y' junction. There is a small ramp there. Look further to see a
pier (area you have
to land). Back up till the building with a police bribe facing the
river. Building is to
the bridge's left side if you're on it facing west. Build up speed, hit
the ramp over
the water and onto the pier. Now you're inside Leaf Links.
- Move faster when carrying a weapon that requires 2 hands. Press the
jump key
simultanously to move faster.
- Car-jack a vehicle with passengers in it. Try to jack the vehicle
through the driver
side. Sometimes this trick will not work. If successful, the passenger
will not alight
the vehicle. And you have a passenger inside (passenger can be more than
one).
- To have a .txt copy of your stats, hit the 'S' key during the stats
page to have it
generated inside the save folder under 'My Documents/GTA Vice City user
files/'.

Tricks of the trade
=====================
This section specializes the tricks that you can do in Vice City.
Note: different vehicles due to different speed, acceleration & handling, they
have different results or some of the tricks couldn't be done.
------------------
4 wheeled vehicle
------------------
- This trick is to do a 2 wheeler with your car (2 wheels at the same
side). Try to hit a
ramp or kurb with only either the right or left side of your vehicle.
Now start
balancing on those 2 wheels that touches the ground. Right now i haven't
done it so no
help at the moment.
- Burn rubber by pressing the forward key & the handbrakes at the same
time.
- Watch Tommy jump into a car. This works only for cars without roof.
Move Tommy towards
the driver side and get in.
- If you have a sub-machinegun, while driving, hit the 'Look Left' or
'Look Right' keys to
have Tommy look in that direction. Press the fire button to fire that
sub-machinegun.
Also know as driveby shooting.
------------------
2 wheeled vehicle
------------------
Note: the bike trick has to be done with the lean up & lean down keys.
- Wheelie (pulling the bike upwards so that only the rear tire touches
the ground). To get
this trick done easily, use the PCJ 600. Just accelerate and hit the
lean down key to
achieve the effect. For slower bikes, you may have to release the
accelerate key then
hit it again with the lean down key together. Alternate between the
acceleration & lean
down key to maintain the wheelie time.
- Wheelie trick!!! Get to a ledge and let your bike dangle it's front
wheel over the
ledge only. Now hit the wheelie key and wait (do not need to hit the
acceleration key).
Just keep tommy from falling over (balance is the key). Although money
is not that good
compare to the actual thing, the rest is pretty good.
- Stoppie (leaning forward towards the bike handle and at the same time
applying the
brakes to lift the rear tire up). Faggio & Pizza Boy can do this easily.
Accelerate full speed release the acceleration key then hit lean up to
achieve effect.
If not possible then hit both the brakes and the lean up key together.
- Jump over vehicle by doing a wheelie when you charge against it
(sometimes may not work).
All the tricks above need to be practice from time to time.
- Flying kick onto the bike. Just place Tommy infront of the bike and
hit the enter key.
- With a sub-machinegun & on a bike, you can either hit the 'Look Left'
or 'Look Right'
keys to aim in that direction and fire your sub-machinegun. You can fire
your sub-
machinegun straight forward.
----------------------
How to get free stuff
----------------------
- Low on HP, get into an ambulance to regain 20HPs (not cumulative).
- Low on HP, grab a hooded car (stinger/cars without roof will not work)
and drive up to a
hooker (you'll know when you find one) with fishnet stockings or those
who wear black
leather mini skirts & bras. Sound the horn and wait for them to get
onboard. Get to a
secluded area/place and let the shaking begins (notice the pace of the
shakes). Current
MAX HP will +25 HP more. After the hooker gets out, just ram her over or
waste her using
a weapon to get your cash back. It helps to relieve stress, up those HPs
& save on the
wallet.
- To get free shotgun, just hop into a police car to gain a shotgun with
5 shots.
- Free armor when you get into those police enforcer.
- Free golf club when you carjack a golf cart when you do not have a
melee weapon.
- To get free weapons, look for weapon icons around Vice City. There are
various to grab.
- After you have collected packages, throughout the city, they will
spawn weapons near
your hideouts. Just take them save & load to respawn them and take them
again.
- Free HP refill when you grab a health icon all over Vice City.
- Free HP refill, just save on any of the save point (need not save.
Just opens up the
save screen then exit will do). After the save screen, your HP will be
full.
- Free HP refill, just drop by any stores that sells food like the pizza
place, food
outlets in the North Point Mall when your HP drops below 100. They will
serve food to
Tommy & Fill the HP up to only 100 (even though you have up your HP to
150).

Miscellaneous
--------------
- If you want to stop a vehicle (whether it's doors is locked or not),
use a gun to shoot
at the tires. This slows down the vehicle which will enable the
passengers inside to
bail out.
- If you want to stop a vehicle (whether it's doors is locked or not),
use a colt python
or heavier weapon to shoot at the driver through the windshield of the
vehicle. Make
sure you aim for the head for a one shot kill.

Vice City Outfits
===================
There are various outfits in Vice City where you can change into. All outfits
are found at various locations. Only by completing missions will you unlock
those outfits. You can loose wanted level 1 & 2 stars by changing into any
outfits.
Note: make sure the cops did not spot you changing.
------------------
East Side Outfits
------------------
Street
------
The starting outfit, a hawaiian shirt with jeans. This can be found at
save point where
Tommy can enter into the building. Ocean View apartments, Verceti mansion
& Hyman Condos.
Will appear when you wear other type of outfits.
Soriee
------
A nice Armani suit that found at the doorsteps of Rafael's after the
mission "The Party".
Coveralls
---------
Blue "Spand EX" working outfit found at the "Tool Up" hardware store
inside North Point
Mall. Appear after the "Riot" mission.
Casual
------
Brown T-shirt with jeans. Found at the "Gash" clothing store at the
North Point Mall on
2nd floor. Avaliable after the "Treacherous Swine" mission.
Golf
----
A golf outfit that looks retro. Get it at the Leaf Links country club
after completing the
"Four Iron" mission.
Bank Job
--------
Teal color body suit with a Friday the 13 hockey mask. Get it at the
Malibu club after
"The Job" mission.
Cop
---
Basically a cop outfit where you get it after finishing with the "Cop
Land" mission. It's
inside the lockers' room opposite the bookings area. Except being tight
around the crotch
area, basically it's a perfect fit. Note: need this outfit to gain access
into the
military air base.
Mr.Vercetti
-----------
Suit for the big boss. Brown suit with vertical white stripes and purple
color for the
under-shirt. Get it after you buy Pole Position Strip club. It's at the
Collar & Cuffs
store. Store found behind you original hideout on the west side of the
street.
------------------
West Side Outfits
------------------
Havana
------
White Cuban outfit found at the Little Havana Streetwear & Tattoo
Parlour. Assuming your
are approaching from starfish island into west island, turn right then
left into the next
street on your left then right. It's right in side the store infront of
the door. Note:
sometimes due to a bug, It's on your left the store with metal bars over
it's windows.
After the mission "Two Bit Hit", that outfit spawns inside the store where
you cannot get
it.
Tracksuit
---------
Jogging clothes!!! There are 2 sets. The Crimson set is found at the
Laundromat. From the
Print Works, head west then south towards the 'T' junction. That store is
to your right at
the corner.
The black set is found at the Jocksport store. From the Prawn island,
head towards west
until you came to a 'T' junction at the end of the road. Turn southwards
and check out the
stores to your right. The Jocksport is a few stores before you came across
the Pizza Boy.
It's the shop with white names all over it's blue background.

Walkthrough
============
Due to the fact that Vice City is very large, i suggest that you explore the
city first to get to know the areas, icons, location of stores and any short
cuts you may find. I have included the side missions as the very first to be
done for those beginners. All these side missions can be done at an earlier
stages as your media rating is very low and practically no one knows you thus
giving you no problems (some gangs further into the game will attack you after
certain mission). The extra bonus of completing these side mission will aid you
well in future missions.
To complete the game fast, you can follow the '*********' along the way to clear
the game fast. However if you decided to skip the side missions with '********'
by all means fine by me.
--------------
Side Missions
--------------
You need to grab these vehicles get into them hit the sub-mission key to
activate their missions.
Paramedic ********
---------
Vehicle needed: Ambulance (found at the hospital)
How to end mission:
- Exit the vehicle
- Kill the patient
- Getting killed in action
- Hit the sub-mission key
Goal: Do up to 12 levels before the time is up.
Reward: Infinite sprint (run like hell without getting tired)
What to do: Get a fix amount of patients for a particular level to the
hospital before the
time is up. Pick up each patient to gain extra seconds to the depleting
time. Another
bonus seconds of time will be added when you sent those patients to the
hospital quickly
and safely (without any crashes or bumps). Remember that a maximum number
of 3 patients is
allowed for each trip.
Hint: This mission is very difficult as due to randomness, some patients
appear at places where you have a higher chance of flipping over (at the
lighthouse). You
can use the trainer for this to stop the time & regain full health for the
vehicle. I
think it won't screw with the percentage. I have some trainer recommends
at the cheats
section. Look for them.
Pizza Delivery ********
---------------
Vehicle needed: Pizza Boy (found near Pizza Place)
How to end mission:
- Destroy the scooter
- Getting killed in action
- Hit the sub-mission key
Goal: Do up to 10 level within 5 minutes in each level
Reward: UP current HP to 150
What to do: Load up 6 pizzas at the drive-by window and sent those
pizzas to the
customers. Need to throw pizza at the customer for them to get it (can get
out of your
scooter and run to push the pizza towards the customer you have missed).
For every level
more, an additional order is added to the current customer list. Have only
5 minutes for
every level.
Hint: For the first 6 levels, you pretty only need the first trip to
collect those pizzas
unless you miss throwing them. After the 6th level, you have to plan the
route you will
eventually take. Try to sent 6 pizzas to customers that are close to each
other. Head back
to load up 6 more for the other customers.
Note: for the next 2 Vigilante mission, just do either one of the Vigilante
mission up to 12 level will do.
Vigilante ********
---------
Vehicle needed: Police car, Enforcer & all police vehicles which has a
police radio rigged
into them. (found at police stations for the first 2 but
the rest has to
get stars & more stars to have them chasing you).
How to end mission:
- Did not get into a police vehicle within a minute
- Getting killed in action
- Hit the sub-mission key
Goal: Do up to 12 level before the time is up
Reward: UP current armor to 150
What to do: Starting at 1st level, kill the intended target's vehicle.
The criminal may
escape from vehicle when vehicle sustained extreme damage. Kill the
criminal then. As the
level progresses, more vehicles & criminals will appear. Sometimes, they
will carjack a
nearby vehicle for their escape.
Hint: Drive the enforcer which can take more punch plus the free 100
armor. Ram the
criminal vehicle into a wall or until it flip. Either reverse your
enforcer and wait for
the criminal vehicle to explode or reverse the enforcer get out and use
your fist or
weapons to kill them as they will bail out of their vehicle. If not, just
open their door
and pull them out and kill them. For lower levels, their weapons may sucks
but as level
increases, they have much more firepower. Do kill them and take their
weapons for use
later in other levels (easy way to earn weapons; although not the best but
will have to
do).
Another way is to use heavy firepower to blow up their vehicle before
they get away from
you. Either by using the rocket launcher, minigun, Hunter chopper or the
Rhino tank. Before you use these weapons, you have to wait till the west
island is open
up.
Brown Thunder
-------------
Note: also one of the vigilante mission but not required to get 100 % if
you did the other
vigilante
Vehicle needed: Hunter (found at the military base after collecting 100
packages or
complete the whole game)
(another location is to the extreme south of east
island next to a
building. The heli-pad faces the junction. Got to
have 100 packages
& complete the game once to have it there)
How to end mission:
- Did not get into a police vehicle within a minute
- Getting killed in action
- Hit the sub-mission key
Goal: Do up to 12 level before the time is up
Reward: UP current armor to 150
What to do: Starting at 1st level, kill the intended target's vehicle.
The criminal may
escape from vehicle when vehicle sustained extreme damage. Kill the
criminal then. As the
level progresses, more vehicles & criminals will appear. Sometimes, they
will carjack a
nearby vehicle for their escape.
Hint: As the hunter chopper has the auto aim gatling gun mounted on it,
you do not need to
line up the criminal vehicle for a shot. Just facing it hit fire and the
gun will do the
rest. Becareful of buildings, trees, power poles, street lamps and
unfriendly gunfire.
These will take you down faster if you fly to low to the ground. Ignore
police stars as
they can do nothing to you if you are high up there unless you hover to
the ground.
Firefighter (West Island)
-----------
Vehicle needed: Firetruck (found at downtown area on the west island,
opposite the police
station)
How to end mission:
- Exit firetruck
- Getting killed in action
- Kill those in flames
- Hit the sub-mission key
Goal: Do up to 12 level before the time is up (78 fires)
Reward: Tommy will be fire proof (not applied in vehicles).
What to do: This mission is to put out fire on both vehicle & it's
flamming passenger. The
passenger will bail out after the vehicle fire is being put out. Just put
out the fire on
the passenger. As level increases, there will be more vehicles with more
passengers. Using
the turrets keys to control the direction & elevation of the hose.
Hint: To know whether your water hit the flames or not is to look for
steam raising from
the flames. Wait for a while and the flames will be out. Set the hose
straight ahead and
down all the way. Just aim for the flamming vehicle and let the water out.
Try to douse
both a flamming vehicle plus it's passengers first before the next vehicle
as those
flamming turkeys sure can run. Sometimes either the vehicle or the
passenger can run into
the ocean thus making your job easier. Try not to hit a wall or dead end
as the reversing
part of the firetruck is not as fast as it's forward run.
Taxi Driver
-----------
Vehicle needed: Cabbie or Taxi (found almost everywhere)
How to end mission:
- Exit the cabbie/taxi
- Getting killed in action
- Hit the sub-mission key
Goal: Do up to 100 passenger before the time is up
The number of passengers can be accumulated meaning you need not
ferry 100
passengers at one go. Take your time do it bit by bit. Check the
stats for the

- After 7 guards down (2 more guards patrolling along the length of the

side, you either take them down or avoid them), take the helicopter and
park it right on
top of the ship which you can reach with the stairs (extreme parking; do
not hit the
metal poles there)
- Get to the pink glowing ring just below, view cutscene
- Get back into the helicopter and take it back to Print works

- Hit the detonator to kill the courier & the 4 receivers
- Load up a weapon and kill anyone that's not dead

- Run on foot or jack a vehicle and get back to Print Works

your right in yellow color.
Note: get into the cab over the pink glowing ring to start the mission.
V.I.P ********
