At the start of the game, after you have done tank training and you go to get your armour, do a 'noclip' cheat through the wire wall and pick up the gas by the tank. This means that later on in the levels where you get a tank, you have an extra gas bottle. It also means that if you find the others anyway you can drive into the mine at the end...
