Q: Why are their three different rewards & unlockables for each race? A: At the beginning of the game, you have a choice of 3 different cars. One is a tuner, one is a muscle car, and the other is an exotic. The car you pick determines what you unlock/how you unlock things throughout the game. For example, If you pick the Camaro SS, what reward you get & what you unlock each race will be shown next to "Muscle:" 2. Q: Why did I start out in a different area than you? A: What car you pick at the beginning effects where you start out. If you pick the Mazda RX-8, you'll start in Downtown. If you pick the Chevrolet Camaro SS, you'll start in Kempton. If you pick the Alfa Romeo Brera, you'll start in Fortuna. 3. Q: In the video, your car is much slower/faster than mine. Will the video still help me? A: It should. Keep one eye on the Duel meter in the upper right of your screen. If you fall behind for to long, you automatically lose. **Canyon Race** Take on three other drivers in a race to the bottom of a canyon. **Checkpoint** Reach certain checkpoints on the track before time expires to earn bonus time to finish the event. **Canyon Checkpoint** This is just like a regular Checkpoint event, only with the added dangers of the canyon. **Canyon Drift** Reach a target score to win this event. Earn points by drifting around corners. The longer the drift, and the faster your speed, the more points you earn. Earn multipliers by maintaining a clean run and not hitting any walls. **Circuit** Race on traditional lap-based courses with barriers to help keep you on track. **Sprint** Drive as fast as you can in a point-to-point race. **Drift** Like the Canyon Drift, you need to reach a certain score by drifting around corners. You earn multipliers for linking drifts around multiple corners. **Speedtrap** Race through a number of speedtraps in a point-to-point race. The driver with the highest cumulative speed at the end of the race is the winner. **Race Wars** It's you against nineteen other drivers in a three-lap race. ===================== | | | Heat Levels [A.2.3] | | | ===================== **Heat Level 1** The easiest of all heat levels. Police drive Crown Victorias and travel in groups of 5. They pretty much just chase you. You can easily out run these guys. **Heat Level 2** Driving Undercover Crown Victorias, these police officers throw normal and rolling road blocks at you. **Heat Level 3** Now it starts to get a little tougher. These guys drive Pontiac GTOs and send Rhinos to ram you head on. **Heat Level 4** It gets a lot tougher at this stage. Driving Undercover Pontiac GTOs, in packs of 20, these guys start to send out helicopters to chase you. As long as you're in its line of sight you can't escape. The roadblocks are also upgraded with spike strips. **Heat Level 5** This is where it gets fun. All the cops are driving Chevrolet Corvettes and throw everything at you. Stacked Deck: The most powerful crew in Palmont the player must race against, with a variety of Exotic, Tuner and Muscle cars of tier 3 origin; led by Darius in the Silverton District of Palmont. **Minor Crews** 1. Black Hearts: A small group, who are mainly in Kempton District. Prefers exotic cars. 2. Inferno: A minor and weak Muscle Car crew that can be found in some parts of Fortuna. 3. Kings: The weakest of the minor crews, they are found in the Downtown District and only challenge the player in a few races; and are subsequently completely defeated. They drive all types of cars. 4. Once you go up the big hill, it'll be on your right. The last shortcut will be an alley on the right, just after the 45 degree turn. 3. Between trap 5 and 6, you'll see a big s bend coming up. Right before you get there, take the alley shortcut behind the dinner.
