It's been a while since I last did for Carbon. Now this year, on the November 14, EA has released a new NFS, Need For Speed 11: Pro Street. I no longer support Carbon questions, please do not e-mail me with those questions! I have lost interest in Carbon during August 07. So please, enjoy the guide, and take your time to read. With all the great info I can provide. I will also try my best to keep the Spoilers as low as possible. These sites have my permission to post my guide on their sites: http://www.gamefaqs.com http://www.supercheats.com (All my latest version of FAQs are at GameFAQs regularly.) A little final note, sometimes I may not reply to your e-mails, mainly because I'm tired (Studying for Exams, 3D Modeling and/or Playing Games.) and/or probably it is late night. So please don't get the idea of me ignoring e-mail messages. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Section Lists [PS-SECT#-#]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* SECT 1-0: Controls of the Game SECT 2-0: Game Modes SECT 3-0: The Car List SECT 4-0: Starting of the Game SECT 5-0: Organizations & Boss Informations SECT 6-1: Battle Machine Challenge: Nevada SECT 6-2: Battle Machine Races (Part 1) SECT 6-3: Battle Machine Challenge: Texas SECT 6-4: Battle Machine Races (Part 2) SECT 7-0: Showdown: Chicago SECT 8-1: React Team Sessions Challenge: Autopolis SECT 8-2: React Team Sessions Races (Part 1) SECT 8-3: React Team Sessions Challenge: Ebisu SECT 8-4: React Team Sessions Races (Part 2) SECT 9-0: Showdown: Autopolis SECT 10-1: Super Promotion Challenge: Autobahnring SECT 10-2: Super Promotion Races (Part 1) SECT 10-3: Super Promotion Races (Part 2) SECT 11-1: Rogue Speed Races - Portland International Raceway SECT 11-2: Rogue Speed Races - Chicago Airfield SECT 11-3: Rogue Speed Races - Infineon SECT 11-4: Drag King Challenge - Infineon II SECT 12-1: Noisebomb Races - Ebisu SECT 12-2: Noisebomb Races - Tokyo Dockyard SECT 12-3: Noisebomb Races - Autopolis SECT 12-4: Drift King Challenge - Autopolis II SECT 13-1: G-Effect Races - Mondello Park SECT 13-2: G-Effect Races - Texas World Speedway SECT 13-3: G-Effect Races - Willow Springs SECT 13-4: Grip King Challenge - Willow Springs II SECT 14-1: Nitrocide Races - Autobahnring SECT 14-2: Nitrocide Races - Ebisu SECT 14-3: Nitrocide Races - Nevada Highway SECT 14-4: Speed King Challenge - Nevada Highway II SECT 15-0: Showdown: Autobahnring SECT 16-1: Showdown King Challenge - Nevada SECT 16-2: Showdown King Challenge - Tokyo SECT 17-0: Tips/Tricks/Hints SECT 18-0: Official Cheat List SECT 19-0: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) SECT 19-1: Easy Career Cash SECT 20-0: Official Soundtrack List SECT 21-0: Customization SECT 22-0: Credits/Contributors SECT 23-0: Contact, Contribute & Questions Hint: If you want to find a section quickly and fast, hit Ctrl + F on your keyboard and type PS-SECT#-#. Check back soon. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Game Modes [PS-SECT2-0| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* Pro Street this year has changed lots of game modes and since it has stopped the street racing, they take it to the courses and closed tracks. Mode: Grip Racing Type: Grip Description: A normal single race, you vs 7 opponents on the track. No handicaps so everyone is racing whatever they brought to the race. First to cross the line wins. Mode: Sector Shootout Type: Grip Description: Sector Shootout is a unique challenge where the tracks are divided into 4 parts, each with a sector checkpoint. Drivers battle to compete for the highest points and accumulate them up. If you dominated all the sectors, you will be awarded for dominating the sector shootouts. The driver with the most points after the event wins. Mode: Time Attack Type: Grip Description: Time Attack is basically you, yourself versus the rivals to battle for the fastest time on the track. All racers will be given multiple laps (maximum of 3) to do their best. Careful though, racers are still on the track, so things still get pretty hairy. The driver holding on to the fastest lap time wins. Mode: 1/4 Mile Drag Type: Drag Description: Typically a Drag racing, in 1/4 Mile (0.20). Only you vs the opponent with all the other 7 racers. No traffic are involved and the Drag is taking it only closed courses. Mode: 1/2 Mile Drag Type: Drag Description: Same as 1/4 Mile Drag, but a little bit further than that. As usual, you vs the opponent, battling for the fastest Drag Times. Again, no traffic is involved. Mode: Wheelie Competition Type: Drag Description: (This is going to be fun for those who like wheelies.) Basically a 1/4 Mile Drag, but you are NOT competing for the fastest Drag Time. You are basically competing for the longest wheelie during Drag Race. The longer wheelie you do, the higher chances you will win the event. Mode: Drift Type: Drift Description: Drift Mode is back. You will be competing with other opponents in drifting, but not all drivers will be on the track. Should be easy on this one, but physics have really changed alot. Mode: Speed Challenge Type: Speed Description: Speed Challenge is mainly the same as Top Speed Run. However, you are not competing for the fastest speed, you will have to keep your car in control throughout the whole race. First one to cross the line wins. Mode: Top Speed Run Type: Speed Description: Known as the Speedtrap from the previous 2 NFS games, it is now reknown as Top Speed Run. All you got to do is try to push your car to the limit and maintain as possible. Battle for Speed to be the first and win. Official Locations (where Race Days will be held): -Nevada Highway -Autobahnring -Ebisu -Tokyo Dockyard -Texas World Speedway -Willow Springs -Portland International Raceway -Chicago Airfield -Porsche Test Track (Booster Pack only) -Shuto Expressway (Booster Pack only) While in races, you will get Bonuses for achieving a good progress in the race. Here are the following. ------------------- | SECTOR SHOOTOUT | ------------------- Dominating all Sectors: 500 Points Sector Record: Whatever Points you get after crossing the Sector. --------- | DRIFT | --------- Nitrous Drift: 100 Points Long Drift: 250 Points Stayed On Track: 200 Points High Speed Bonus: 250 Points -------- | DRAG | -------- Weak Burnout!: 0% - 24% Good Burnout!: 25% - 49% Incredible Burnout!: 50% - 99% Max Grip!: 100% --------------------- | RACE SCORE POINTS | --------------------- 1st Place: 4,500 Points 2nd Place: 3,000 Points 3rd Place: 1,500 Points 4th Place: 750 Cosmetic Damage: 500 Points No Damage: 500 Points Light Damage: 50 - 500 Points Heavy Damage: 0 - 50 Points Totaled: 0 Points *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |The Car List [PS-SECT3-0]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* This here is the official car list for Pro Street. However, EA this time round made changes to every single part and feature of the game, making it NFS 11: Pro Street. Many of you will ask: What's new in Pro Street? Are there going to be more ricing and stuff? Wrong. Pro Street physics and gameplay has now changed and followed as real life. Nitrous will not be available at all times, only a couple of shots. Damage is now realistic and not only scratches and broken glass. So if your car hit hard enough, you can easily total your car which ends your race. Changes have been made to this year's NFS. When you start a profile, they will ask to choose which level would you like to choose. You have 3 choices. -Casual -Racer -King Casual: Helps you in every part of the race and the game. If you are new to NFS, you might wanna try this level. Racer: A little more difficult, now it will only helps you braking in difficult corners. Choose this level if you know few parts of NFS Series. If not, stick to Casual. King: The master level, no helps. This level lets you feel the raw power. In my case, I have been playing NFS alot, I will be choosing King mode. Customization this year has changed alot. Remember, every modification you make to the car, AFFECTS Downforce Grip & Top Speed. Especially Hoods, Bodykits & Spoilers. Also, you can now paint the parts of your car in different colours. (Front Bumper, Skirts, Rear Bumper, Hood etc.) Vinyls and Decals are back. Same as Carbon, you can move, skew, rotate and scale. Create your sick ride upto 20 layers maximum. With option for mirroring vinyls. (Only on Vinyl Shapes, Teams, Flames, Stripes and many more.) In Career, you start off as a low-ranked racer with a pre-tuned car and dominate all the Career Races. Your job is to take over every single King, including the Showdown King to complete the game and become the Street King title. Need For Speed Pro Street is available on all major consoles (PS2, PS3, XBOX 360, PC, Wii and many more) and released on November 14. Get your copy today at EA Store or your local game shop. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |The Prologue [PROLOGUE]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* In the last 4 NFS series, you started with a prologue with tuned car and later on buy a stock car. ***SPOILER START NO. 1*** However, this time round you will start out with a pre-tuned 240SX to win a 3 lap grip race, INSTEAD of a Stock Car. You will be playing as a character, Ryan Cooper in the game. ***SPOILER END NO. 1*** The race should be easy, so I don't give any more spoilers on this. After you win this race, you will unlock the first Race Day, Battle Machine Organization Challenge: Nevada Highway If you want more guide on the whole career, scroll down through this walkthrough for the WHOLE information. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Organizations [PS-SECT5-0]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* Throughout the game, you will be seeing organizations while racing. Some may have single disciplinary and some may have multidisciplinary races. *-----------------------------+ | Organization Name | Mode | |-----------------------------| | Rogue Speed | Drag | |-----------------------------| | G-Effect | Grip | |-----------------------------| | Nitrocide | Speed | |-----------------------------| | Noisebomb | Drift | |-----------------------------| | Battle Machine | Multi | |-----------------------------| | React Team Sessions | Multi | |-----------------------------| | Super Promotion | Multi | +-----------------------------* ----------- | Kings | ----------- This here is the list of all the kings, one of them owns a single org. ------------------------- | Grip King (G-Effect) | ------------------------- Driver: Ray Krieger Car: 2008 BMW M3 E92 One of the first kings you have to defeat them (if you went straight to beat Grip King). This guy drives a BMW M3 E92, with a unique paintjob as a "Grip Runner". --------------------------- | Drag King (Rogue Speed) | --------------------------- Driver: Karol Monroe Car: 2006 Ford Mustang GT Officially the current best Drag King in the game. This chick drives a 2006 Mustang and runs 8s in 1/4 Mile Drags. Something you shouldn't be foolin around. -------------------------- | Speed King (Nitrocide) | -------------------------- Driver: Nate Denver Car: 1965 Pontiac GTO You get to see a kinda look-like dude for the first time! Well, you've seen it some other time already. Nate's the best at Speed Challenges and he drives a 1965 GTO, certainly a big goat muscle car. -------------------------- | Drift King (Noisebomb) | -------------------------- Driver: Aki Kimura Car: Mazda RX-7 Probably a Jap chick, by the name and the jap car can tell itself. Drives a Mazda RX-7, probably one of the great drift cars in the game, and seriously has got serious drifting wheels & skills on that ride. ---------------------------- | Showdown King (Super Promotion) | ---------------------------- Driver: Ryo Watanabe Car: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X You wouldn't wanna mess around with this guy. Certaily drives as a pro and runs a special unique paint Evo 10. Though his car can withstand to all types of races when you face him. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Races Info [PS-RACEINFO]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* This is where you have to climb the ladder. Cooper has just won a race with his pre-tuned ride. However, don't think he will win all the races with that car. His 240SX is only limited to Grip racing. But, Ryan is going to Battle Machine, because of his successful win in the pre-given race. Select the Battle Machine logo Race Day and enter it. You should currently only have 10,000 in cash and 240SX for Grip in Garage. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Battle Machine Challenge: Nevada [PS-SECT6-1]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* Cooper has arrived at the Challenge Race Day without his ride. This challenge is using the pre-given rides. He has a choice of Golf GTi for Grip and Cobalt SS or Civic for Drag to participate. Race Day: Challenge: Nevada (Battle Machine) Points to Winning: N/A Points to Dominate: 19,220 Points Record: 24,110 (Bradley Hunter) Dominate Reward: 5,000 Pre-Requisite: Complete the pre-given race at the start of Career. ========= | Races | ========= 1. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Cheyenne Laps: 2 Points Record: 7,440 (Gavin May) Target Time: 2:22:12 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 1,800 You only can choose Golf GTi for this race and go up similiar 7 opponents. Should be able to finish this race without problem. Just score higher than the record and you are fine. 2. Race Mode: Time Attack (Grip) Track: Dakota Laps: 3 Points Record: 7,520 (Paulo Cruz) Target Time: 1:06:06 (1 lap) Cash Reward: 1,800 Same previous race, except that you are playing Time Attack and racing the track in Reverse with a little obstacle. Finish in first to win the race. 3. Race Mode: 1/4 Mile Drag (Drag) Track: 1/4 Mile Drag Strip Laps: 3 Rounds Points Record: 7,490 (Bradley Hunter) Target Time: 14:85 (1 Round) Cash Reward: 1,800 In this race, you will be guided on a tutorial of Drag racing. Your choice is between Cobalt SS and Civic. Choose the Cobalt because it does much better than the Civic in Drags. Hit the Perfect Shift with the Nitrous provided, and you can pull off 12 seconds in the Drag. Don't forget about the False Start while shifting gears. Also, don't blow your engine. 4. Race Mode: 1/4 Mile Drag (Drag) Track: 1/4 Mile Drag Strip Laps: 3 Rounds Points Record: 7,630 (Joe Tackett) Target Time: 14:85 (1 Round) Cash Reward: 1,800 Same previous race in 3. Hit the Perfect Shift and use Nitrous, and the win is all yours. Challenge: Nevada (Battle Machine) Dominated! Willow Springs (Battle Machine) Race Day unlocked! Chicago Airfield (Battle Machine) Race Day unlocked! Choose a reward marker for dominating the race day. Pick your new drag car between Cobalt SS or Civic. You have completely dominated the first race day, a 1% Career Progress should be seen in the Career Overview. Now it's the time to upgrade your cars if you have cash. If you need money fast, check the "Easy Career Cash" section of the guide. NOTE: I highly suggest you take advantage of the "Easy Career Cash" to earn lots of money and buy new cars. The current cars that you have may be too slow to drive. If you took advantage and of the trick, you should rack up lots of cash and fast enough to buy a new car for Drag and Grip. That also include performance parts. Let's head over to the first part of Battle Machine race days, beginning with Willow Springs. *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Battle Machine Races (Part 1) [PS-SECT6-2]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* Cooper finally makes himself a name by dominating the Battle Machine race day. He now gains reputation and opened himself into new race days. He heads over to Willow Springs. If you took the opportunity to do the Easy Career Cash trick, you should be able to get yourself a decent Charger R/T for Drag and 240SX for Grip racing. Don't bother about Speed and Drift cars yet. Race Day: Willow Springs (Battle Machine) Points to Winning: 11,400 Points to Dominate: 22,800 Points Record: 28,640 (Rudy Chen) Winning Reward: 2,000 Dominate Reward: 5,000 Pre-Requisite: Dominate Battle Machine Challenge Race Day. ========= | Races | ========= 1. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: GP Circuit Laps: 2 Points Record: 8,250 (Rudy Chen) Target Time: 3:02:01 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 1,000 You go up against 7 other opponents in this race, the circuit is also pretty straightforward, so you shouldn't have problems. Even so, you might not even need nitrous for this race, as your 240SX can handle easily. 2. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Short Circuit C Laps: 3 Points Record: 8,130 (Ray Krieger) Target Time: 3:08:73 (3 laps) Cash Reward: 1,000 The circuit is much more tougher than the last one due to loads of slow turns and brakes. At the 3rd hairpin turn, you will need to be careful of your car, if not, you can slide out of the track and go out of the course. 3. Race Mode: Time Attack (Grip) Track: Short Circuit B Laps: 3 Points Record: 8,340 (Gavin May) Target Time: 1:14:26 (1 lap) Cash Reward: 1,000 Much easier from the previous race, although the turns here are nearly the same as the previous one. 4. Race Mode: 1/4 Mile Drag (Drag) Track: Cheyenne Laps: 3 Rounds Points Record: 7,440 (Gavin May) Target Time: 2:22:12 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 1,000 Simple drag, although the only trouble you will get is the annoying finish line. Why? Because the finish line poles are so close to your Drag Lane, that you could even hit hard enough and total your car. Aim for the middle of the finish line if you want to be safe. Willow Springs (Battle Machine) Dominated! Portland International Raceway (Battle Machine) Race Day unlocked! Chicago Airfield III (Battle Machine) Race Day unlocked! Choose a reward marker for winning target. Choose a reward marker for dominating the race day. NOTE: You can do the next two races in any order you want, both will unlock the Challenge: Texas (Battle Machine) Race Day. He thinks he's up for it, which is.... Race Mode: Time Attack (Grip) Track: Airfield Long Laps: 3 Points Record: 7,690 (Rudy Chen) Target Time: 1:20:43 (1 lap) Cash Reward: 1,800 The track you are racing on has lots of twisty corners, so you might need to slow your car down a little. Even so, it is not a hard race. It won't take long before you know the whole track. 2. Race Mode: Sector Shootout (Grip) Track: Center Field Loop Laps: 3 Points Record: 7,700 (Rudy Chen) Target Time: N/A Cash Reward: 1,800 This race is an introduction to Sector Shootout. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Center Field Club Laps: 3 Points Record: 7,670 (Yoshi Suzuki) Target Time: 2:10:97 (3 laps) Cash Reward: 1,800 If you noticed, this course is exactly the same as the race in the beginning of the Career. Should be easy, just take turns slowly and you'll be fine. 4. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Airfield GP Laps: 2 Points Record: 7,820 (Ray Kriger) Target Time: 3:08:70 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 1,800 Lots of tight curves and turns, let go of the gas if you think the corners are too sharp. If done right, you should win easily. 5. Race Mode: 1/4 Mile Drag (Drag) Track: 1/4 Mile Drag Strip Laps: 3 Rounds Points Record: 7,870 (Karol Monroe) Target Time: 13:82 (1 Round) Cash Reward: 1,800 Another simple drag racing. You have pretty wide open space, but you should complete this easily. 6. Race Mode: 1/2 Mile Drag (Drag) Track: 1/2 Mile Drag Strip Laps: 3 Rounds Points Record: 7,730 (Bradley Hunter) Target Time: 20:20 (1 Round) Cash Reward: 1,800 Close to the previous race, except that the distance is much further out. Easy to win in this one. Chicago Airfield II (Battle Machine) Dominated! Challenge: Texas (Battle Machine) Race Day unlocked! Choose a reward marker for winning target. Race Day: Challenge: Texas (Battle Machine) Points to Winning: N/A Points to Dominate: 28,500 Points Record: 47,050 (Ray Kriger) Winning Reward: N/A Dominate Reward: 8,500 Pre-Requisite: Dominate Chicago Airfield II (Battle Machine) OR Portland International Raceway (Battle Machine) Race Day. ========= | Races | ========= 1. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Club Circuit Laps: 3 Points Record: 7,950 (Ray Kriger) Target Time: 3:11:29 (3 laps) Cash Reward: 2,500 You go up against opponents that use 350Z or Golf GTi. In this Race Day, I preferred the 350Z over the Golf. The only downside is the Golf has much better handling than the 350Z, and the 350Z has pretty much spin outs. Still not too hard, but you can break the record easily if done right. 2. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Short Circuit A Laps: 2 Points Record: 8,040 (Ray Krieger) Target Time: 3:13:61 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 2,500 The circuit is much more easier than the last, but still with lots of turns and braking to deal with. It's pretty easy to win. 3. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: GP Circuit B Laps: 2 Points Record: 7,950 (Gavin May) Target Time: 4:14:59 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 2,500 Much easier than the last two, you can gain some additional time if your perfect with your turns and much. Again, 350Z is your choice. 4. Race Mode: Sector Shootout (Grip) Track: Short Circuit B Laps: 3 Points Record: 7,780 (Henrik Dehn) Target Time: N/A Cash Reward: 2,500 The course is much more wider, making you easy to take your time and get to the next sector. Of course, you can even overtake other opponents and get to the Sector as early as possible. Also, try to broke your old sector records, so you can earn more points to add it to your score. 5. Race Mode: Sector Shootout (Grip) Track: Short Circuit A Laps: 3 Points Record: 8,070 (Joe Tackett) Target Time: N/A Cash Reward: 2,500 This one is much harder than the previous sector shootout, though you might be complaining and grumbling to yourself why can't you break the Track Points Record. 6. Race Mode: Time Attack (Grip) Track: GP Circuit A Laps: 3 Points Record: 8,440 (Paulo Cruz) Target Time: N/A Cash Reward: 2,500 Another easy one. You can gain shave off lots of seconds from the last section of the track to earn you more points. As said, 350Z will do the job, so control it well. Challenge: Texas (Battle Machine) Dominated! Choose a reward marker for dominating the race day. Pick your new grip car between Golf GTI or 350Z. Career Overview: 5% After finishing this, I'm moving on to..... *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Battle Machine Races (Part 2) [PS-SECT6-4]| +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* After clearing some buisness he had in the first few races and being invited to the Challenge in Texas, Cooper has headed over to clear some stuff that's unsettled in the other side of Race Days beginning with.... Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Center Field Loop Laps: 2 Points Record: 7,640 (Ryo Watanabe) Target Time: 2:10:81 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 1,200 Two things that make this race easy, first, it's the same track in the last Chicago Airfield Raceday you did. Secondly, you memorised this course, so the win is easily for you. 2. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Airfield GP Laps: 2 Points Record: 7,310 (Yoshi Suzuki) Target Time: 3:08:70 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 1,200 Another simple race, you should be able to smoke the opponents on this. If not, how had you make it this far? Just don't take the corners too fast or you will crash easily. 3. Race Mode: 1/4 Mile Drag (Drag) Track: 1/4 Mile Drag Strip Laps: 3 Rounds Points Record: 7,170 (Paulo Cruz) Target Time: 11:86 (1 Round) Cash Reward: 1,200 Lots of wide open space, you won't crash easily on this one. Oh yeah, just make sure you don't get a False Start or miss any Perfect Shifts. 4. Race Mode: Time Attack (Grip) Track: Center Field Club Laps: 3 Points Record: 7,270 (Ray Kriger) Target Time: 43:46 (1 lap) Cash Reward: 1,200 The course is pretty basic and you can shave off lots of time in a lap if you drive perfectly. 5. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: GP Circuit Reverse Laps: 2 Points Record: 7,830 (Rudy Chen) Target Time: 3:03:10 (2 laps) Cash Reward: 1,500 The course is pretty simple from the other Race Day, except that this course direction is going in reverse. Easy to win on this. 2. Race Mode: Grip Racing (Grip) Track: Short Circuit B Laps: 3 Points Record: 7,600 (Ray Krieger) Target Time: 3:44:06 (3 laps) Cash Reward: 1,500 Much twitchier and challenging than the last one, but the opponents are easy to pass. In this track, you will be racing 1/2 mile from a three-quarter part of a track of Nevada Highway B. While it isn't common, there's a bump that you cannot avoid, and you may lose control of your car if you reach maximum speed. My guess is to try avoid the obstacles. Also, if you start on the left lane, try to steer a little right, but not too much. If you start on the right, vice versa. 4.
