Skate straight at the goalie. Immediately before you would normally run into him, cut to whatever direction the player's stick is (i.e. if a player is left-handed, cut left.) Immediately after the cut, press [Shoot].

Immediately before shooting against Marty Brodeur (Devil's goalie), spin either left or right and you will score almost every time.

When you are on a shootout. go to the blueline and just tap [Shoot]. If done correctly, the puck will go over the goalie.
