Secret - How is Blue Burst better than any other PSO?

by Aldermar Oct 21, 2010

Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst (or PSOBB for short) is an MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game). This game was developed by SEGA in 2004. But since the official SEGA servers have been permanently shut down due to a very weak population and move onto Phantasy Star Universe series.

To get straight to the point, the title as you play PSOBB is a little similar to PSOGC and the title theme will always remain the same. On the Japanese Servers, the title says, "Phantasy Star Online Episode IV." If you're all wondering what happened to Episode III, that game is known as "C.A.R.D. Revolution" for Nintendo Gamecube only.

*Your controller will be your Keyboard. The very same Keyboard you use to type and such. You can connect your XBOX 360 or PS3 Controller or any Joy Sticks to PSOBB once you configure the settings how you want to play the game by being in the lobby with any character, the Options and set controller. For more details, click here. (This one here will also help you how to connect a controller on Windows 7.)

Unlike PSOGC or XBOX, you will need to register for your Username and Password to create an account for PSOBB on a specific server. The active and well known Private Server today is, SCHTHACK. This server has over 300-500+ Online players. This also includes the shut down systems for PSO Ver. 1 & 2, PC and Gamecube. SCHTHACK does not XBOX sadly. The Microsoft company said that they don't trust Private Servers. So please do not make fuss about it. Once you registered for your Username and Password on SCHTHACK Server, now you can login into PSOBB.

PSOBB has 4 Character slots just like PSOGC. However, there is one problem--When you create a character on PSOBB... they will not have names with same Section IDs. If you named your HUmar, Seung, he will be Whitill. If you name your RAmar, Seung, he will be Skyly. You think this would work like PSOGC, but no, SEGA made it complicated for novices about Names and Section IDs for all 12 Characters to select from. And there is also a 10 Character Limit to make up a name for your Character. You may use any symbols, letters and numbers.
If you wish to find a specific Section ID for a certain class, you'll need to add space or symbols on your desired name. (ie: Seung- or Seung' or Seung!)
Doing this so will change your HUmar's name from Seung to Seung!. You will get a Skyly HUmar with the desired name.
Please use PSO-World's Section ID Calculator

*Please note that, if you're going to ask, have SEGA altered the max stats at Level 200? Well, no, they're generally still have the same max stats. But you can look more closely if you like.

***FROM THIS POINT ON, I WILL BE ONLY PROVIDING DETAILS ABOUT PSOBB SCHTHACK SERVER***
(That being said, I have never been on the official SEGA servers on PSOBB myself.)

Once you created/selected your character to play the game, you will be sent to the lobby. But first, there's a menu that show the list of Ships you want to be at. The Ship with the most people is where you'll most likely go.

**CONTROLS IN THE LOBBY**
W, A, S, D - Move around as long you don't hit space.
SPACE - Pressing this will enable typing. After your written message, press ENTER to submit message.
ALT + A-Z, 1-0, F1-F12 - Perform Lobby Actions.
SHIFT + ALT + A-Z, 1-0, F1-F12 - Must be in Lobby. You can perform Opposite Gender Lobby Actions.
F1 - Displays Helpful information about the F# Keys. (If you're in the lobby, only F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10, F11 & F12 will work.)
F5 - Send and share your Guild Card, Search a Guild Card for specific players, Search players.
F6 - Manage in game messages to one person.
F7 - Customize your Symbol Chats here.
F8 - Display Guild Members (Team members). You must make or Join a Guild (Team) to view the list.

*Team Legend: Red = Guild Master, Blue = Team Captains, White = Regular Members

F9 - Display Team Chat. Press SPACE and talk with your Guild. You must make or join a Guild (Team) to use Team Chat.
F10 - If you have Team Chat displayed, pressing this will switch from Team Chat to Normal Chat.
F11 - Also known as a Chat Button. Many get immobilized by this key. When you have nothing to say, press F11 again, you should able to move.
F12 - Pressing Home Key works as well. It opens up your Menu.
Home - Pressing F12 Key works as well. It opens up your Menu.
End - Display chat options. Pressing TAB changes into using Symbol Chat. Press TAB again for boring chat options.
CTRL + END - Show list of Categorized Lobby Actions.
Page Up - Scrolls Upwards in Team Chat or Log Window.
Page Down - Scrolls Downwards in Team Chat or Log Window.

Knowing these controls, you should have no problem of asking how to do stuff. Now lets talk about making and joining Party Rooms. Party Rooms are displayed when you select "JOIN ROOM," a list of rooms will appear.

*White Text = You can join this room, White Text + Locked = You need a pass to enter
*Gray Text = You can't join because the room is FULL or Quest has been played, Gray Text + Locked = You cannot join this room at all

If you want to make your own game, simply select "CREATE ROOM." You will need to name your Party, the password is there if you want it as a private room or leave it blank and let other people play. There are 2 other settings you should know:

*Difficulty: Normal = Anyone can play this for a start, Hard = You need to be Lv20 to play Hard Mode
Very Hard = You need to be Lv40 to play V.Hard Mode, Ultimate = You need to be Lv80 to play Ultimate Mode
*Play Mode: Normal = This setting makes it as a public room for anyone to join, Battle = Challenge others in a brawl
Challenge = Play Challenge Mode with 3 other people (are you veteran enough to do this?)
Single Player = You can make this a private room for yourself without a pass. Monsters are weaker in this mode so it's easier for you to hunt and kill. Side Story Quests take place instead of Government Quests.

When you're done making a room, you can probably do anything you want now. And I'm going to end my tutoring here. When you meet with other pro players (like Level 80 or higher), ask them for more further information.

All credits goes to me for explaining most of the guide.
