No, you don't have to be a member to get bits of metal. In order to get this ingredient,
you could trade ingredients or find it somewhere in pixie hollow. Sometimes when you
complete an adventure, you will sometimes see it in the big circle shaped thing that has a
bunch of ingredients.

You need to be level 3 talent skill to go into the wilderness, its ok not to be a member,
you get the bits of metal there
