how to avoid the save file has been erased due to corruption or damage. the game can be played... i just finished my pokemon emerald in my gameboy sp by defeating the elite four the the save file has been erased.... can you help me by fixing this game?
I've seem to have got around the problem some how, heres what happened. Like some of you I
had problems continuing the game after I beat the Elite 4, I tried some of the suggestions
but when I switched over to save as 128k it still saved as 64k, this should help you fix
this and continue the game. After the save in the Hall of Fame, a message came up saying
the Save File is corrupted and his been erased. But luckily I saved a VBA state just
before it Saved, I hope you have to or this will not work. Anyway if you have, heres what
to do; Go to the folder of the rom, delete the SAV file, Start up VBA (I use 1.8.0 beta)
go to Options > Emulator > Real Time Clock, this resolves the time based events
problem. Now go to Options > Emulator > Save Type > Flash 128k, mine was set on
64k before. | Now load the Pokémon Emerald (U) Rom, there should be no error messages at
the start since you got rid of the SAV file in that folder. Start a new game. At the point
where you have freedom to move around Hit Start and save the game, and then hit CTRL + R
to Reset. Check your folder where the rom is located again and confirm that the SAV file
is now 128k and not 64k. Now load your VBA state (Again, mine was set just before it saves
in the Hall of Fame), let it everything happen as normal, after the ending credits hit
CTRL + R on your keyboard to Reset (if it doesn't do so itself after 'THE END' screen - a
commen problem experienced in VBA Ver. 1.8.0 BETA), go to the folder of your rom again to
confirm that the SAV file is still 128k. Now when the Main Screen comes up a message
saying "The save file is corrupted, the previous one will be loaded" that isn't exactly
what it says but its something like that. And thats it, you will be upstairs in your
bedroom. Go down stairs to find out your the new Champion. When your outside Save the
game, reset your emulator and there will be no error messages, this may sound weird but it
actually did work, somehow. This Has Nothing To Do With Using The IPS Patch People Are
Talking About, I Haven't Used It Myself.
After I beat Wallace trying to get my Wailmer leveled up so I could catch the Regis and
then the Credits came up I didn't want to watch them so turned my game off. I didn't do
any special save because this was just on my GBA. But then it corrupted... I tried to do
whatever I could and I need a Person to give me the answer to this ridiculous problem. I
have no solutions but I might go to GameStop or something but I think you can re-arrange
the clock and go back to the minute before and do it. It seems like a *** solution but
I will do anything to get my Pokemon Emerald game back.
First of all thanks to the writer of "Corruption Proble Solution", it actually seems to
work - except!
It's fine up until the place, where I have loaded my saved file (just before it saves in
the Hall of Fame). The problem is, that the SAV file turns back into 64 instead of 128,
when it does save in the Hall of Fame. It's really annoying, because I don't know how to
I hope someone else does - thank you!
I saved my game right before it saves on the hall of fame, i did everything you said but
after adjusting from 64k to 128k and loading my game again right before it saves in the
hall of fame, the sav file keeps getting back from 64k again. What should I do?
I bought pokemon emerald,(used)and I beat the elite 4 and all was well. Then I tried to
migrate the legendaries to soul silver, and it restarted the game. I tried it again a
couple more times just to make sure it wasn't a fail, and the game restarted. I tried to
defeat the elite 4 a twice, and BAM, game restarts. I never got to defeat Steven or even
try to complete the pokedex. I'm really worried I won't be able to do those things. I
checked, and the new games on other websites are to expensive.($189.99)And most places
don't even have it.I'm not surprised though, it's an old game. Only a couple game stops
have it, and I don't have enough money for it!(they're about $40.00)And even they're
running out fast!
First of all, you guys need to learn unoriginal pokemon versions/roms in GBA/SP damage the
internal memory of the GBA/SP. Unless, you have DS or Lite, sayonara! I recommend playing
Pokemon! on an emulator preferentially No$gba cos it is compatible with most of the roms.
If you're having trouble finding good, working roms, try www.isoHunt.com Your welcome ;)

Please help me @ firstname.lastname@example.org
I have the right way. It may seem that when you quick load in the pokemon league on your
previous game, the previous settings are also loaded. What i did is justdelete the
previous save then i set the memory on flash and 128k. Then i started a new game. When i
tried to load it, it didn't say the save file is corrupt the save is deleted,it just
showed the continue. Try it :}
I tried everything that you said, it worked at the start of the game, but when i loaded my
vba state where i defeated wallace, it still not working. :( i checked the rom folder and
the sav is still 64 even though i checked in my saving type which is 128. Heeelp!!
I play on my gba sp. I let my friend borrow my emerald because i had finally beat steven
and done everything i needed to do. For some reason he never felt like turning it off so
he left it on 24/7 with it charging. By the time he got to the elite 4, his game time was
999:99. About a week after the elite 4, the save file was erased. Since i had been through
this multiple times, i didn't care that much. A month later i try to start a new file and
the previous file was saved. Now i'm at the battle frontier 24/7. I jus figured this out
recently. This is the reason my emerald is restarting itself. It's fake. If all of you
guys's emeralds are fake, you should be able to see half of a pale circle in the
cartridge. (this also counts for ruby, sapphire, fire red, and leaf green) look it up on
I play on a gba
I get onto my gba and try to play my emerald and then try to save. It saved. Then i come
back 1 hour later try to start playing again and it says "the save file has been erased
due to corruption or damage. " what do i do please help!!!
I will make this simple :
1. Open your vba
2. Go to options -> emulator -> real time clock
3. Go to options -> emulator -> save type -> flash 128k
4. Open your save file
5. Then delete your "pokemon emerald.sav"
6. Hit start and save the game
7. Hit ctrl+r
8. Go to the main menu and you can continue your save file
After you beat the elite 4, watch the credits and the "the end".
Then continue to the main menu and the text "the save file is corrupted, the previous one
will be loaded" doesn't true.
Just ignore it and open your save game to continue and then you will be in your room.
Erm actually i played this pokemon emerald for few years already... Since i was year 5...
After beating the elite 4... Wallace will bring u into the save room ... After save only
press once "a" then after the credits got 2 word "the end" press one more time a... I
figured it out my self hope this help~
People what you need to do is to save the game in 128kb once it´s done you should create
an outside copy of this file (out of the folder of the vba)then go to the hall of fame (in
the file were you beat the champion) then when it saves again hit control r and if it says
the file it´s damage and... Then thats ok you will try again with the outside copy and
try as many times as you need the method works!!! You just need to be patience !!!
I lost my 100 swampert my 100 mew my 100 rayquaza my 70 groudon my 84 kyogre and a hell
alot of shiny pokemon btw i had shiny 100 shaymin-i got from trade. I lost my record of
beating elite 4 a few times and it is really anooying getting thru sky pillar yyy-no

Ok, this should fix the 128k save reverting to 64k after the hall of fame save for the
emulator, among other things. I did this in vba
1. Make sure you have a state save (in-emulator save) of just before the fight with
wallace, this is optimal, but any state save where you can press "start" and manually save
as well will work. The further back you go the more progress you will lose.
2. Load this save, then turn off real time clock and set save type to 64k. (we'll reset
3. While your game is running in vba, make a copy of your save files (both the in-emulator
state saves (. Sgm) and manual game saves (. Sav)) move these copies out of the directory
they're located in.
4. Delete all of the save files that are not copies and in the original directory. This
will leave the only save you have of the game that vba is aware of running in the
5. Go to options > emulator, and "tick" real time clock.
Also "tick" options > emulator > save type > flash 128k.
6. Save in game and you should see a 128k save file created.
7. Beat wallace as per usual and when the game saves in the hall of fame there should be
no reversion to 64k as you have removed the remnants of the 64k game.
When you reset there should be no messages relating to corruption (load previous file
This amended all issues with time related events and any corruption messages at the load
screen. Note that if this is the first time turning on "real time clock" it may delete any
berries you have already planted. If you screw up you can either use the save copies you
made to restore your previous position (before the 7 steps) or salvage the original files
from the recycle bin.
