I found out how to lv yourself up if your weak, but you can probably do this with other gyms too. Okay, first:

1. Get the poke you want to lv up as your starter and give it hydro pump.

2. Challange brock.

3. Use hydro pump. If you lose to the first onyx, try again you eventually win.

4. Keep doing that, using hydro pump with all the pokemon, I was lv 5 and I got to lv 11 in like 1 min

Make sure your starter has the highest level on the team, because this is what level the pokemon in the tower will be.

Put pokemon you want to gain exp. in front, make sure it knows leafstorm. You will encounter 1 regular cubone and 1 dark marowak, spam leafstorms.

Cubone: Will ALMOST always faint the first time you attack, if not, it will be left without about a quarter of its HP

DarkMarowak: May cause you to faint once in a while, it depends on your luck, usually goes out in two hits
