Introduction/Version History (1A) | |-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-| Why, hello there! :D ("Why, hello there! :D" and all related properties are copyright Xboxlover2, 2006.) I'm Xboxlover2, long-time GameFAQs user, Railroad Tycoon 3 fan, and relatively new FAQ writer. This is the third FAQ of my career, so I'm starting to get used to this whole FAQ writing thing. As the title of this FAQ should suggest, this guide will cover ONLY the trains of Railroad Tycoon 3. If you're looking for a walkthrough, you're **** out of luck as there aren't any FAQs for the game (other than this) up at the moment. However, I do plan on writing a full walkthrough for the game in the near future. Stay tuned! If you need to contact me for ANY reason (and I mean any reason) at all, read the Contact Information section for my contact info. CTRL + F (4A). If you've read any of my previous FAQs for Rune and/or Rune: Halls of Valhalla, you're going to notice that I have completely and unashemedly re-used the layout I used to format those FAQs. Rather than unnecessarily wasting my time by thinking up a new, creative design, I just decided to use the layout over as it's neat (at least, in my opinion I plan on adding info about the industries and cargo types available and how they affect revenue. As I have done and will continue to do with all of my in-depth FAQs, I will give a little introduction to the Railroad Tycoon series and Railroad Tycoon 3. Railroad Tycoon 3 is a railroad stimulation strategy game, the third in the Railroad Tycoon series and one of many in the Tycoon series. Railroad Tycoon 3, without a doubt in my mind, is the best of the RT series, as it completely reinvented the series by making the game in full 3-D and adding a lot more depth and customization capabilities to the game. It is THE definining railroad stimulation game of our time, and will most likely continue to be for years to come. Now that that is out of the way, let's move on to the meat of the FAQ, shall we? ************************* * Version History (1AA) * ************************* 1/21/06 (0.1) - Started on my third FAQ. 1/23/06 (0.5) - Finished info on half of the trains 1/24/06 (1.0) - Finished up the other half. 1/25/06 (1.0) - Submitted to GameFAQs. ************************ * Coming Soon... Trains (2A) | |-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-| There are a plethora of trains in Railroad Tycoon 3, ranging from steam engines to diesel trains to electric bullets. This section will give in-depth descriptions on each of the trains, stating each trains' speed, year of release, and other important details. As there are nearly 60 trains in total in the game, this section is quite large. To make it easier to find a train, I've created a navigation guide. A little explanation on the terms used in this section: Grade - Refers to the slope or inclination of the track. The higher the track grade percentage, the slower the train will run. Cars - The cars that are used to carry cargo/passengers. The higher the number of cars, the slower the train will run. Reliability - The integrity of the train; how reliable it is to not breakdown. Freight - Trains that carry cargo exclusively. Express - Trains that carry passengers exclusively. Mixed - Trains that carry both cargo and passengers. Passenger Appeal - How the passengers will respond to the train's design. People aren't going to want to ride ugly trains. Fuel Economy - The train's fuel consumption rate. You obviously want the most distance for the least money. Annual Maintenance - The train's yearly maintenance costs. --------------------------- --------- | Trains | Section | --------------------------- --------- | Planet 2-2-0 | (3A1) |
