The cheat codes that werre listed here are for the Sims 2. I doubt that they will also
work on the Sims 3. The Ctrl+Shift+C might have also changed.

Just curious, but I didn't think the game was out yet. Do you have a legit copy?

A friend had that problem to he uninstalled it and cleaned his computer a little bit and
then installed it agian, I worked for him maby for you to. BTW all the cheats work they
are all the same as the sims 2 because those are the only one are out, they just tried
them and watched if they worked:P

Mine works, although some of the cheats from the sims 2 do not work for the sims 3..

i'm playing on a laptop too

The console pop out is a tiny gray bar on the top of your screen.

You guys are all giving bad advice and talking about unneeded ****. Here's what you do
lol. What i did is, I pressed SHIFT CONTROL C all at once and on the top left corner of
your screen will have a space to type so just begin typing and look at it! Type the cheat
code then press enter. Some cheatcodes are: motherlode. or hideHeadlineEffects on. Or you
can add OFF to that. Then press enter. And to get out of that mode press escape. I hope
