I have a sim that was born of a dead and a living person. she is an elder, but she won't die. she doesn't have her grave in her inventory. in the family tree it shows her as dead but she won't disappear from my active family. any thoughts?

Im having trouble entering cheats into The Sims 3.
When im in game mode i press Ctrl+shift+C but nothing happens, no menu appears where i can entre the cheats.
