How do I fix this problem?(Desperate!!!)

I did the mission with the sarcophagus(i did everything from the sewers to the mansion and then with the minivan)and I end up in LaCroix's office,the sarcophagus is there as is the historian as far as I can see,I go speak with the prince and instead of telling me smth new he just repeats the same spech before the mission and then the log upates itself and again I must find the thing I had already found!!!I tried reloading and loading earlier saved games but I end up in the same situation...I even reinstalled the game without deleting the saved games-the same happens over and over again!I would really hate it if I must start a new game just when it got interesting for me.PLEASE someone help me...I beg you!!!
