Best used with support mechanisms like left arm MGs, SGs or GRs. Also works well with all types of EO support. Burst rifles are Great for stacking, which I will discuss later in the guide. They are also very good for closing in with an energy blade. Their only drawback is their reload rate, so if you use support mechanisms, you should do great. Energy rifles are even stronger than regular rifles, but they take up energy, so be careful and equip your parts accordingly. It?s best to use low-drain parts in tandem with these. Dual laser rifles are even stronger, but with more energy drain. So just double the specs of the regular laser rifles. Sniper rifles are very accurate and have a high damage rating, as well as great heat specs. They are also good for taking out targets? weapons. Always use in tandem with rapid-fire left arm weapons. This will improve your firing rate and save you in close combat situations. Try using dual rapid fire standard rifles with good ammo stores and ammo heat in tandem with EC eo support fire. This is excellent for mid to close range battles, as the combination of strong shell and energy damage drains AP very quickly. Lastly, always use high accuracy FCS and arm parts. In fact, do this for all weapons. It saves ammo and kills targets faster. Machine Guns Machine guns are fast-killing mid range weapons that are good for continuous damage and heat pelting. These are very good in tandem with left arm GRs, or another MG. If you were to add eo support fire to any of these setups, you?d have an AC unit with excellent firepower. Omega/Clown Face had this setup, and he had serious potential, the only thing that limited the unit?s potential was it?s idiotic AI. Fingers are excellent close range rapid-fire weapons. They kill extremely fast and are best used in tandem with either another Finger, SGs or FTLs. Always use Fingers for hangar parts, they are the absolute best sidearm you could possibly ask for. Ammo/Bullet Life had excellent firepower with this setup, by the way. Just make sure you?ve got something to engage the target from long ranges, like SMs. Handguns Handguns have only two good features; stun damage and heat. Besides that, their firing rate, range and damage are mediocre. Only use these if you?ve got no other choice. Try using dual handguns (make sure they?ve both got stun damage) in tandem with MG eo support fire. If used properly, many targets will not be able to even move once you?ve engaged them. Their AP will chip away and they will be destroyed in seconds, thanks to overheating. Shotguns and Flamethrowers Shotguns are powerful close range weapons with good ammo stores and excellent heat specs. Always use in tandem with either another SG, an FTL, or a Finger. If you were to use this setup with any eo support fire, you would have an excellent close-combat unit. Just make sure you are good at basic evasive maneuvering. Make sure you are never right in front of the enemy while leeching away his AP. Dual SGs with dual Finger hangar units make an excellent unit. FTLs are good to use for those who have already mastered evasive maneuvers and can stay at point-blank range without taking hits. Use either two of these or use them in tandem with Fingers or SGs. Bazookas, Plasma Cannons and Grenade Rifles These usually have inadequate ammo stores, but excellent damage and heat specs. They are highly inaccurate at long range, so use them wisely. Be sure to use these in tandem with a rapid-fire weapon in case of damage races. Tatara/Zanba demonstrates how to use a bazooka at close ranges. Just be sure to use eo support to help drain the targets AP while you stall, heat, and damage it?s unit with your massive single shots. Stacking Stacking is when you use left arm weapons or eo support fire at the same instant you are switching your primary weapon. This way, your stream of fire is continuous, even if you are switching weapons or reloading. Very effective when using burst rifles and rail guns. Missiles and Warheads Missiles are all-range effective guided ordinance weapons with damage and heat specs depending on their size and numbers. Always distract the target while launching salvos of these. You can initiate an OB dash while locking on, and launch your missiles as soon as you actually OB into the enemy. That way, the target is busy fending you of while volleys of missiles are crashing into him. It takes experience to know when to perform one of these. Titan warheads require the most backup, as they are extremely slow. Try using them at mid to close range, like how Foxeye uses them. The only missiles that are safe to launch from a distance are vert SMs, stealth SMs and hi act SMs. Rockets and Spread Shot Rockets Rockets are inaccurate mid-range weapons with impressive damage and heat specs. Like some bazookas, you need to use these wisely, as they cannot lock. Always use in tandem with MGs, so you will damage them continuously while aiming. Do not forget that left arm weapons can be fired at any time, even if you are using back unit weapons. Back Unit Guns Chainguns are good to use for tanks and quads that stack with single shot weapons. Damage, heat and ammo stores are significantly increased in comparison to arm MGs. Slug Guns are excellent close range weapons. Use in tandem with FLTs and RKTs for either heat or stun damage. I?d personally recommend RKTs, so that while they are stunned, you can land a shot with your SLG. Excellent firepower and heat specs. Grenade Launchers, Rail Guns and Energy Cannons are the same as their BZ and GR counterparts. Always, always use stacking while using these, as that is what makes them most effective. Make sure you have a high accuracy FCS part equipped so you land your shots more often. Use these in tandem with stalling weapons. A Karasawa LRF is an excellent choice. I don?t recommend using these at long ranges. Use them only at mid range, as you get splash damage from point-blank blasting. I?d only recommend these with tanks or quads, since there is no human plus in ACN. Once again, emulate MxGTHGS? (I spell that right?) style of battle, only improve on his pathetic AI. Orbit Cannons Only use these with multi-target FCS? with quick lock speed and long range specs. It is recommended that you barrage your opponent while he is fending away your orbits, as it confuses him and ends up getting him killed very quickly. I recommend an OB core with FTLs, SGs or Fingers to go with an OBT. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------- Special Thanks & Notes Special thanks to everyone who helped me get my first FAQ up. Sonecor, Indigo and everyone else. I?d also like to comment that all tactics listed above are fully tested and working. Test subjects include the entire arena roster and human opponents?who are members of the NorCal Steel Raven?s Society.
