Introduction | ----------------- Created by the mind of Koji Igarashi (behind the games: Symphony of the Night, Harmony Of Dissonance, Lament of Innocence, Aria of Sorrow, and Dawn of Sorrow.) And this time it takes place three years after the events of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. The year is 1476, and you are Hector, a devil forage master who has betraid his evil lord, Count Vlad Tepes Dracula. During this tragic event, that took place, this allowed Dracula to be defeated by none other than Trevor C. Belmont, who carries a burden and the sacred whip known as the Vampire-Killer that has been passed down and wield by his Clan for generations, to be the bane of the night. But as Hector you are traveling to hunt down a former friend, but now a deadly arch enemy named Isaac who too is a devil forge master, and has had Hector's wife Rosilly trialed as a witch and killed. Hector seeks vengence, but in order to fight not only his brother by spiritual body but, as an arch enemy. But alas - Hector must regain his powers, and must try to over come and vanquish the evil curse which plagues the lands of not only Transylvania but Europe as a whole. Now, the only downfall to this game is that there has have been a few minor changes since the first PS2 installment. There is now camera control functions, a lock-on system. But the combo system from LOI has been removed. You are now given a few attacks and a finisher depending how many times you press the main attack button then the finisher button to preform combos. And the move list from LOI no longer exist except for the guard and guick-guard functions. But it lags, and isn't as smooth as from its predecessor. -------------------------- | II. Characters. | ------------------ Hector: The main character of COD. Hector is troubled soul bent on the force of good and evil. He was a devil-forge master and respected by Isaac three years ago. But when Mathias/Dracula ranged his unslaught towards the humans by the death of his wife Lisa, he now seeks vengences on Issac for killing his wife Rossily. Now he must get in touch with his darker nature not only to slay Isaac but must battle the Curse of Darkness within himself. Isaac: Himself a devil-forge master, but he did not give up his powers. He is in league with the Prince of Darkness, and will not stop until the true darkness within Hector is unleashed. Julia Laforeze: Isaac's sister and a real witch who had escape the witch hunters within Europe. She helps Hector care for his demons, and provides him with basic supplies. Trevor C. Belmont: From the family that swore vengence on Mathias Cronqvist, and swore to to hunt and be the bane of the night. Trevor Belmont was the first Belmont to actually face Count Dracula Vlad Tepes with the help of Grant Dynasty, Slapha Belnades, and Adrian Farenheights Tepes (aka Alucard) in a battle for Humanity. Trevor now is not only hunting the children of the night. But, he is also trying to find a way to vanqish the dreaded curse which Dracula bestowed on Transylvania, and Europe. Zead: A strange man, who looks to be no more than mere-monk, who desires not only to rid the curse of Dracula. But also to track down evil. He is also on a mission to hunt down Saint Germain. Saint Germain: A mysterious man with strange motives unbeknowst to Hector He, only wishes, that Hector to not presue Isaac. But reasons for this are unknown. -------------- | 2. Controls || -------------- The controls in COD are very simplified. And the learning curve of this game will only take about 10 minutes. Left Analog stick - Menu select/walk/run Direction button: I.D. (Innocent Devil) controls/menu select Square Button: Attack Triangle Button: Ability/Innocent Devil Ability Circle Button: Finisher button/Steal/Use/Examine X Button: Jump/Confirm L1: Reset camera. L2 Button: Lock-on Target L1: Enable/Disable Lock-on Target R1: Guard Attacking Attacking in this game is very diffrent from our counter part from LOI. Insted of a combo system you are given afew choices of method of attacks by what diffrent weapon you use. But attacks are normally like this Square, Sqaure, Sqaure, Sqaure Sqaure, Circle Square, Square, Circle Square, Square, Square, Circle So you should get the point the only limit that I have seen in the game is 8 hits, but you can do some nifty combos. There are also afew other moves within the game that the manual doesn't list like the following Up slash/uppercut - hold the R1 button then attack (aka Luncher attacks) Jump Kick - Press the circle and square button at the same time. Down attack: Can be used when using a heavy weapon (i.e. Claymore) Other Infomation - Unlike LOI this game is fully RPG. So every time you kill an enemy you gain EXP to level up Hector so he may get stronger, and allows him to have more HP (Hit points) So here is a layout of the RPG system in COD HP - Hit points (when whiches 0 you are dead) Atk - Your basic attack (how strong you are with weapons) Def - Your defense (the higher it is, the better protected you are.) STR - Strength (the higher, the stronger you are.) CON: Constitution (determines recovery time on status'.) Poison: Resistence to posion. Curse: Resistence to cure. Stone: Resistence to stone. Paralyze: Resistence to parayze. Fire: Resistence to fire. Ice: Resistence to ice. Thunder: Resistence to thunder. Wind: Resistence to wind. Eath: Resistence to earth. Light: Resistence to light. Dark: Resistence to dark. ------------------------------------- | 3. Introduction to Innocent Devil's | ------------------------------------- Innocent Devils - The thing I really like about this game is the introduction to a new style and form of game play. Well not really new but, new per-say. Innocent Devils (we shall refer them to I.D's for now on.) are like familiars from SoTN (if you have played the game; it is a demon that follows you around and helps you take out monsters within an area.) Kinda like a second player but controlled computer A.I. only. In COD the I.D's play more of a significant and vital role within the game. The I.D's will gain levelsto help them grow stronger, to learning new skills, which allows you to have more opitions on how to clear out a room. And will evolve (if you choose) with what evolution crystals to use, which will allow them to help our hereo Hector to reach new areas within the game OR help clean up the mess of monsters within an area. How do they work - But how do I.D's work? Well, let me explain to you my friend! I.D's are very easy and simple to control, you can either put them on Automode (using your directional button's up and down) which puts the computer in control of what special moves it can actually do at that point in time, depending on its level and form. Or you can press it back down to the regular control and use the right or left directional button to select what and which special ability an I.D. can do and use it by pressing the triangle button. Now the I.Ds are mainly used for getting around areas. So that they really aren't that needed unless, you want to clean house faster. You can also do solo play. But I wouldn't recomend it unless, you find the early game abit too easy for you. Leveling up I.D's & abilities - I.D's level up the same we Hector does (by earning experince points.) Innocent Devil's get abillities after doing certain task. Like killing a certain amount of monsters or walking around for an hour. I do (and HIGHLY) recomend after you evolve each I.D is that you stop harvesting EVO crystals (by turning it off in the select summon screen.) So that it will give your I.D's time to gain their newest ability. Devil Shards - After a certain amount of time and use of a particular I.D they will drop shards (I.E. eggs) so that you can forge new monsters, and bestow them on a path of new abilities that one doesn't have. I will also explain why some Devil Shards are so important later in this guide. Types of Innocent Devil's - Fairy Type - The healing type which can also give status effects towards enemies Battle Type - Pretty much the meatwagon's in the game. Bird Type - The aerial attacks of the night Mage Type - Pretty much the wizard type, spell: Time Stop Devil Type - A very agressive I.D (alot more agressive than the Battle-Type) Also a plot device... But it can have it's good momments if used propperly! How to Evolve Innocent Devil's - Evolving your Innocent Devil veries from which weapon type that you use. So if you use a Sword (which is the color of Red) monsters will drop Red EVO crystals. If you use an Axe type weapon monsters will drop Blue EVO crystals. It depends on how many evolution crystals that you have so that you can upgrade it's form to a newer one. But once it reaches to it's Crown (the highest level that one can go.) you can no longer evolve it. So choose your weapons carefully so that you can upgrade and evolve the right Innocent Devil that is for you. Each I.D. has diffrent strengths and weaknessess, so use what is right for you. Take your time in this game and experiment. Do you want a Mage type I.D. that can kill every monster in the room? or do you want a Battle-type I.D. that will help you on a slaughter fest? Or would you rather have an Aerial attacker that will bomb the hell out of them? So take your time, have some fun. Work your way out on it. ----------------- |4. Walkthrough | ----------------- Note: As I mean right or left, straight or backwards I am referring to as Hector is entering the room...Etc. For on the map screen I will be referring: North, South, East, West...Etc. **** ALSO THE MAPS ARE IN FIXED MODE FOR THIS GUIDE! So keep that as a reminder so that you DON'T GET LOST! It'll make it a lot easier with this guide if you keep the map in the FIXED MODE. **** The beginning of the game, will tell you about the back story and you will then be introduced to Hector and Isaac. After the cut scene the game will begin ------------------------------------------------------------------ A. The Abanonded Castle | | Map: http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/castlevania_ | cod_abandoned_castle.png | ================================================================== This area is more like a mere introduction (with awesome music to back you up) play around for a few minutes in the game to help you get familiar with the controls. So take this time to get used to the game. And instead of going right into the castle, we shall turn around to snag up a few goodies, A potion and a moai statue (if you have a Lament of Innocence save file.) Now, return to the castle, and go up to the door and enter. Upon entering move forward until you see an Executioner break down the wall. This may provide a challenge but, not really. Just block his attacks or dodge and hit him with the weapon combo attacks that I told you about earlier in this guide. After the battle a blue door will be shown to you - that is a save room. Go inside and save your game. (and register it to be a return location if you desire.) Now upon coming out make a left down the stairs and into the water. Destroy the Mermen within this area, and then look for a staircase to go up on the left side of the area to grab a potion at the top You will also see a door. But when you go up to the door, you'll notice you can't open the door and that something fits in it. Remember this door, and return to the Save Point. Now continue straight until you find yourself facing some Skeletons. They shouldn't be a problem if the Merman were simple, then these guys shouldn't pose too much of a threat at all. Now, if you kill one of them and if they drop something called Bronze I will explain that to you when the time comes. Now continue going forward and you will find a door; enter it and go into the next room. You should be now going south on the map screen if it is in Fixed Mode. Continue going forward and into your next room. In this next room you will face your first room battle (if you're new to Playstation 2 CVs.) The object is to destroy all monster or a certain group of monsters within the room in order to open up a new door. But this should be really easy, for you're only facing skeletons. Also in this room you will find an ability which will allow you to quick-step by holding the R1 button and pressing X and the analog stick in either direction. After the battle go up the stairs, you will now be in an outside area. Continue going forward and killing the Fenrir's that run towards you. You will then come up on a group of Skeletons, just take 'em out and go left and enter the door. Tip: Candles hold very little money (Like $1 coins) but some candles hold meat, potions, and curable status potions. Again continue going straight and kill off the Skeletons. You will then find another save room. You know what to do! To carry on with the game, continue going straight, and take out the monsters who block your path with sheer ease. And enter the next room. In the center you'll see an item. That's the Abandoned Castle map. Which can be very important if you get lost! ^_^ Now again, head left and go straight killing off the hounds of hell and vile bag o'bones. And enter the next door. In this next room you'll be in another locked room. Just kill off the Skeletons and the Cyclops. After that just enter the next room. In this room you'll find a treasure chest, but upon you trying to open it you discover you cannot! You'll find out how to open this chest in a few minutes. Instead continue going straight up the stairs into a room with a green door and a scene will be shown. Now after that really 'cool' scene you obtain your first Innocent Devil, and you'll meet your second character - Zead. But you're probably thinking after that "cool" invocation you'd get something cool? Naw, they start you off with a fairy. An efin' Fairy! Yeah... I know - that's what I thought too! But fear not! The fairy is very valuable, and special. Now remember what these doors look like for these are doors which take you to rooms to gain new Innocent Devil's. After the scene you'll be given an explanation on I.D's. ------------------------------------------------ Innocent Devil #1: (Fairy Type) Instant Fairy | Level: 1 | Abilities: Unlock, Heal Lvl. 1 | ================================================ Now, leave this room - You remember that chest outside? That's right - the Fairy has the ability to open chest such as this one. Within the chest you'll be given a Dragon Crest. Now do you remember that door I told you about? The one that you couldn't get in to? It's time to return to that door, because it will allow you excess to open that door. Now it's time for something a little bit more challenging. Kill off the skeletons in this room and then the Executioner. Also in the center of this room you will find the Bestiary, which will record the information of the monsters you have killed. Now loon the left (or right depending on the direction of the camera) head into the cracked wall to goto the Basement First Floor. In this next area you'll be given a fresh bunch of new enemies called Ghost, just attack them any way you please and continue forward in to the next door. Again continue forward killing off any enemy you see. You will then come to a new save point, use it and then leave and go through the next door. Go down and kill off the Fenrir's, and go forward Now you'll come to a turning point to either go forward or left. Just keep going forward for now. And kill off the Fenrirs and in the next room you will be ambushed by three Ghost! OMG! Just kill them off. Now check your map. Now do you remember that path I told you to ignore (which is now an unexplored section) go into the unexplored areas until you've come to a door you haven't entered. Enter it. In this room you'll see a bunch of barrels. Hmm, let's see wood + sword = smash! ^_^ so destroy them all until you can pick up some wine but it doesn't stop just yet. You'll find a potion and another treasure chest which carries Aluminum. Now go back to where you fought them three ghost and go into the unexplored section and on the right, enter the door. Now in here were things get a little challenging. Just kill off the Fenrir's and Ghost, and grab the $100 bag in the center, and now leave and go right and forward and then a quick left, forward and then a right. You will then come to another door. In this next roo--H-hey! Wait a minute, the music stopped! And your fairy (if still activated) has a question mark above her head and is going looney! Look towards a rotten out pillar! And next to it you'll get the Weapon Combining Skill. This skill will allow you to forge new weapons of war to rape upon your victims! So, anyways right now you're going to want to make a few new items. In the select menu, and select the Combined Weapon menu. In this menu you will be asked to forage certain weapons (if you have certain items) It really isn't that hard. Just select a weapon that is ???????? (which is a new weapon or armor piece to create.) Or you can forge weapons that you have already created. Now you have a few choices. You can either make Sword, Axe, or Knuckle weapon and some armor (Helmet/Armor) But, honestly it's completely up to you on which weapon you desire to make. But I honestly prefer a sword. But first create another Short sword (using Bronze) and then you will use Aluminum and a Short Sword to create a Foil which is +10 to attack. Or you can create an Axe by using a Short Sword and Wild Memory. Or a Knuckle Weapon with Bronze and Aluminum. After creating your items, it's time to see what's up with this pillar. Well any old school Castlevania vet knows what this means. If you don't, just attack the pillar until it breaks to reveal a new path. Go up the new path into a new room (Hey! The music stared! Woo! And don't forget to collect the treasure chest!) In this chest you will now have the ability to harvest evolution crystals which was explained in the early chapter of this guide (See: Intro to Innocent Devil's for more information.) Anyways turn around and continue straight into the next room. In this room you'll be facing some new baddies: the good ol' fashion ZOMBIE! *Does the song thing from Sean of the Dead while zombies approach* You know the drill! Just take 'em out with your new goodies! And continue into the next room which will be located on the North side of the map. Again kill the zombies and go into the next room. Now in this room, you'll encounter the 'healers' of the evil monestrous group known as Wizards. Just simply kill them. Note: If you encounter these guys around other mixed forces such as Axe Knights or Skeletons...Etc. They will heal them. So take these guys out first and fast. Now go into the next room and go straight into the next. *sigh* (Yes, I know you're probably getting me sick and tired of telling you where to go, but it's my job to help you!) Anyways, in this room, you'll be fighting some more baddies Now it's time to head back up the 1st floor (not seriously go ALL the way back to where you started, but the stairway in this new room.) In this next room you'll be in a room with some Zombies and Wizard's. Remember to kill them Wizzies off first. Again leave this room into the next area. And in the next room you will find yourself the ye' ol' zombeeeeeeeeeeya. But after you kill them some Skeleton Blazers will appear, they also appear to be a good challenge. Just quickly take them out and leave this room and continue straight into the next. In the center of this room you will find a potion a Wizzie, and a few zombies, you know what to do. Next leave the room and go straight into the next room and kill off the zombies. Also look for the chair in this room which looks like an electric chair. Sit on it for some laughs. Shocking, eh? You're probably curious of the chairs. The chairs in this game are for a special side quest that seems to have a very good purpose (you'll find out later) I will to try tell you where the chairs are in this walkthrough or on a side-quest part of the game. Now head up the stairs and you will now be on the 2nd floor in a new part of the castle. In this next room you'll be introduced to Axe Knights, they may be slow but their strength is something not to be underestimated. Just take them out and carefully dodge their hard hitting attacks. Now leave the room on the south part of the map (or just go straight, heh.) Continue going straight into the next room. In this room you'll find more Wizzie's and a Axe Knight. Kill off the Wizzie's first, then the Knight. After that turn left and go into the next door. Go straight, kill the Axe Knight, and go left, kill the second axe knight and then go straight into the next room. In this next room you are locked off and ambushed by baddies, Kill off the Wizzies, then the other local scum! Also in this room you'll gain a new ability for double-step which allows you to do a second quick step! After the battle, it's time to go to the 1st floor (look on the map of that unexplored section) for it's not time to go up to the 3rd floor just yet! In this hallway you'll find another save point, so use it if you desire. After that go down into the room which holds the stairway to the 1st floor. In this room you have Axe Knights, kill them if you want too, then go down stairs. Next go back up stairs, and re-kill the Axe Knights and leave. Then head to the third floor. In this next area you'll encounter more baddies, just kill 'em off and go to the next room and continue forward. In this next room you'll encounter a good old friend, the Bone Dragon. Just jump up and attack him to do an air attack combo. After this battle head into the next hallway and go into the next room. Anyways, you probably get the picture, just go around the square and head to the fourth floor. Anyways in this next room you'll find a save point on the left side going done the hallway. SAVE, for it's about time to fight your first boss. Continue forward 'til you see a door with crossbones on it. That is the symbol of a Boss Chamber. Enter it. ----------------------------------------------------------------- - Boss - Crazy Armor | Level: 9 | | This boss is really simple. He swings his right weapon two times | and his left weapon once. Attack him with your weapon combos and | dodge. Also air combo attacks work very well. If you're having | problems, have your I.D. heal you. Once Crazy Amor gets done to | his yellow life gauge. He will unleash a few new attacks (like | throw his head at you) After you destroy him, he will rebuild | himself. (isn't that a surprise...) He will shoot fireballs | at you, and do this flamethrower thing if you get close to him. | But don't let that bother you, this boss is a piece of cake. | ----------------------------------------------------------------- After the battle, he'll blow up. You will then see an elevator raise up, and you'll also see this circle of shiny light. Go in that after every boss fight and it will automatically replenish lost HP for both your I.D. and yourself. Now go back to the save point then enter the Elevator next and you'll be taken to a new area. ----------------------------------------------------------------- B: Baljhet Mountains | | Map: http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/castlevania_cod_ | baljhet_mountains.png | ================================================================= At the first of this area go forward and you will then come to a new green door within it you'll find your first Battle-Type I.D. ------------------------------------------- Innocent Devil #2 (Battle-Type) Magnard | Level: 1 | Abilities: Aura Blast | =========================================== Afer that is done, leave the room. You will then be abused by Fenrirs and Lizardmen. These guys should pose no problem for you. Also here's a little BATTLE TIP: You can do chain attacks with your Battle-Type I.D. When you see the word "Chain" appear hit the regular attack button or the finisher button, this will make the Battle-Type I.D. disappear and reappear in front of Hector. This will cause extra damage! Also if timed correctly chain attacks will add special effects! Neat, eh? Okay, let us carry on. After your slaughter fest is finished. Continue going straight then take a sharp left and go straight. You will then have the stupid Lizardmen running towards you. Just take 'em out and enter the door way. In this part you'll face Fenrirs, and a few Skeletons which shouldn't pose too much of a problem. Now you have two choices here, You can either go: 1. Straight or 2. Head to the door way on the right. But it's totally up to you because, we're going to get something really nifty in a minute. But if you want extra map presentege then this is the best thing to do. So make a quick right into that door way. In this part you'll hear a door lock, and see monsters appear. Just take 'em out and continue going straight and enter the next door way. ...Say, isn't...wait, aren't we outside? Are there any door ways? What the heck man?! Them crazy Konami's! Anyways just head straight and you'll see a door that is closed off. That door is where we don't want to go into yet instead, we will want to go to the door on the left. Pick up the green money bag on the ledge (double jump up there to get it.) And you'll also see a door on the left side of this area. Kill all the Skeletons and walk towards the door you will have a face off with a Clycops which should pose no problem in this next room you will have obtain Prefect-Guard. Perfect-Guard is an ability if you time correctly when you guard a monster's special move Hector and the monster will flash. This will allow you to regain to Hearts back for I.D's. After that back track all the way to the area before the area with the room that leads to the perfect-guard. Do you see them last two parts that we didn't go to on the map? That is kinda of a circle path. So just follow it around then to that entrance way on the map. In this area a scene will come in. And you will meet Julia. Now there are a few reasons why I enjoy this area of the game: 1. No monsters, 2: There is a Warp Room. (That yellow door which is right in front of you as you entered the area.) As you enter the room you will notice that the warp room isn't active yet. You will activate it soon enough. But remember these rooms are marked as green rooms on the map. These are also rooms are very vital, so that you don't need to back track in very huge areas. They will allow you to warp to another area of your choosing. Anyways, as you leave the area pick up the potion by that stone building. Also go up to the door and try to open it. But as you try to open the door, it seems you cannot open it yet. Remember this area, for we will be back later. You now have no other choice but to venture towards the new door way which is right in front of that very building. In this area you will pick up a Magical Ticket which will allow you to warp right to Julia's shop. There is also a save room on the right, so take advantage of that as well! Once entering Julia's house, you've now have accesses to a shop. There really isn't honestly anything good to buy in the shop besides Potions, High Potions, Serums, and Uncurse potions, and a Death Doll. The rest of the items within this shop are useless. But the main good thing about this shop is that you can give her your Innocent Devil's to care for. So that when your demons spawn Devil Shards (eggs) to make new demons you can bring them here to hatch them, and take care of them. Also within her shop you will find a Rocking Chair and a Map of the area. So sit on the chair and then leave. That shop was stupid, wasn't it? Yeah I know... Upon leaving the shop, it's time to move on. Make a left (or north on the map if in fixed mode) into the new area. Now that we have the map for the area, it makes things a lot more easier for this walkthrough! Anyways you'll find the steal skill right by the entrance into the next part of the area. In this part you'll get rushed by two Axe Knights. Next head up the stairs, and kill the Wizard. Continue going up the stairs and kill the other two Axe Knights, and Wizards and move on. So take your time, or just slaughter them! Also make sure you kill the Skeleton who is shooting the cannon at you. After that sit down on the cannon and take the two out on the left and right, then take down the barrier that is blocking your route. After killing the cannon squad, and the orcs, four Axe Knights will appear (I told you things will be getting challenging!) Split up all the Axe Knights and attack them. Using your Magnard's Aura Blast helps too! After that fierce battle head inside the door. In the next area you'll here another door shut off, it's time to kill some baddies! Now in this room you'll be greeted by a few Axe Knights. Take this time to steal some items from them. (Lock on them until the icon turns purple [or pink I think...] and press the square button. After the battle, again move on into the next area. Continue going straight and right. There will be a save room on the right wall. After that go up to the Orcs who are firing arrows, and a Skeleton Blazer. After that keep going forward, killing off the Skeleton Blazers and go into the next area. In the next area you'll here another door shuts off, it's time to kill some baddies! In this area keep going up until you see a lot of Orcs, you will also be greeting by them damned Skeleton Blazers again. By now one of your Innocent Devils will/might have evolved. Anyways move on to the next area - Now, in this area we're gonna go up the hill where we'll meet a one eyed, one horned, giant purple people eater. Just bash him away! And again another. After that, move into the next area and kill the next baddies. You will then come up to Blood Skeletons, as you try to kill them (well any CV vet knows this) that they come back to life, and barred door wont open. Remember this area, because we will be coming back here later. So in the mean time back track to the hill where you met that one eyed, one horned giant purple people eater and go into that next section. Keep going killing off baddies (check the map if you get lost.) In the next area you'll here another door shut off, it's time to kill some baddies! In this next area you will be a huge waterfall, and a bridge, just cross it and go up to the chest and use your fairy to open it. 'Cause you'll be given the Innocent Devil chart that will map it's abilities, progression, and status. After that enter the next area, and take out the new baddies. Anyways take a left at this first turn point and keep going forward, you'll be in a room with ghost. Head up the stairs and double jump to reach a treasure chest to obtain the Boiling Ring, which protects you against fire elemental based attacks. *rolls a d20...* In the next area you'll here another door shut off, it's time to kill some baddies! After that, head off and head to the next set of stairs. And as you guessed it, this area turns into another circle path (two ways lead to the same area) so cover up them areas you didn't explore and backtrack to where you just where. Now as you try to enter the door to get to the area that which isn't covered by the map you'll be ambushed by Efreets, these guys are easy, just equip your boiling ring. After that go into the next section, kill the baddies, and use the save point on the left wall because it's almost time for a boss. From the save point go left (or west on your map if in fixed mode.) When you hit the next door it will lock and an Efreet will appear, just take him down with sheer ease and continue. In the next area you'll here another door shut off, it's time to kill some baddies! Once in the next section kill off the Lizardmen and continue going straight until you find the Boss Chamber. Inside you'll face your second boss. ------------------------------------------------------------------ - Boss - Wyvern | Level 14: | Steal: Shortcake | | This boss is actually what it name applies to. It's a big giant | dragon. Anyways, it's time to bash his head in. Waryvern has a | few attacks to note. When you get close to him he will swing his | tail if you are behind him. Just quick-step it, or jump. He will | also bash his head into the ground, again quick step this if you | are in front of him, but don't fear this attack for his head will | be in the ground for a few seconds, which will lead him open to | attack. He will also fly up into the air and slam his body back | onto the ground for a flash field damage attack. (so jump over | the| force wave when he hits the ground.) He will also fly a | round and breathe fire at you. | | Use your Battle I.D. to attack him, and your Fairy I.D. to heal if| needed. | ------------------------------------------------------------------ After the battle goto the healing point, then goto the last save point. After that head into the next area... ----------------------------------------------------------------- C. Garibaldi Temple | | Map: http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/castlevania_cod_g | aribaldi_temple.png | =================================================================| Welcome to the third area! As soon as you arrive, go straight and kill off the Skeletons that come near you, and enter the next room. Continue going straight killing off the Skeletons and Orcs that are in your path, and enter the next room. In the next room you'll hear the door lock off and you'll be greeted by a mob of monsters. Explore this somewhat huge area. If your curious what that huge tower is in the center of this room, that is the Tower of Evermore, we'll talk about that tower later on. Now enter the door that is on the west side of the room. In this room a scene will happen and you will meet Saint Germain, who is a very strange man indeed. Thus - it's time to continue onward into the darkness. If you check your map you will find three ways to go. For now head right until you come to a wall, on the right side you'll notice the wall is cracked. Break it open by hitting it with your sword to find your first HP Max Up. Now venture to the right side of the temple entrance you will then find a magical ticket. Now head into the temple. For now just continue going north into the next room. As you enter some Bone Soldiers, and an Ogre will crash through the glass. You know what to do. Continue heading straight until you get all the map parts in this particular section. Now return to where you just saw two doors. One of the left, and one on the Right (or vise versa if you are turned around; on the west and south side.) Go inside the west door. In this room you will be attacked by Fleamen. But don't let them bother you, just keep killing them and continue to go straight. Once you have come to a turning point, continue going west. Go straight into the next room to find some ghost. Go into the room on the left Inside you'll hear the door lock, and another batch of enemies will come fourth from Hell. Just take 'em out with sheer ease. After the battle grab the magical ticket and leave the room. After that go left (north on the map) and continue forward to pick up an uncurse potion, after that back track to where you first turned to get into this area. And explore that other path which we didn't go down. Upon entering the next room go into th room on the right side. In this room you'll be greeted by some Axe Knights, just take 'em out and grab the potion in the room, then leave, after that go north. You will then be greeted by an Axe Knight, after that little battle go left to find your first save point in this area. From the save point (go north if the map is in fixed mode) until you are in a room with Fleamen. On the east wall (right side) there will be a door, enter it. In here you will be greeted by an Axe Knight and some Fleamen, once you've taken care of them, grab the area map, and leave. From here go right and enter that door, now you'll have some more of the map covered. Now return back where you came. Continue going straight until you've find a cut off turn (north on the map) to the right, head down that path and into the next room. In this next hallway you'll encounter more Fleamen. Just kill them off and continue going until you find a door on right, enter it, it's another lock off room, just kill off the monsters in this area. After the battle you'll notice there is a chest in here. Use your Fairy I.D. to open it to obtain marker mode. This skill is very important, we shall use it when we're finished with this area. After this, leave the room. Now, we will want to head back to that save point. (use your map if you don't remember where it is.) Now, check your map and look where it says 2nd F. That’s where we are going next. Now that we're on the second floor, this area should be easy for you. Continue going straight until you come to the door. Now, we can either go left or right. It's your choice, since this part is very small, just finish this whole area and then go back down stairs and go back to the save point. From the save point go into that door (not too far from it) that we haven't been into. (it should lead into an unblue'd part of the map.) From the door go right and kill off the Dead Fencer. After that go into the right room which is full of Fleamen. After that leave, and continue going into the next room. In this next room you'll encounter Fenrirs, just go into the open area, and kill them all. After that, leave this part, and continue going straight until you see a door which is on the left, go inside. Inside here, mark this room, because we will return here later. After that, leave the room, and continue going left then continue going right go into the next open area, after you kill the Fenrirs go into the next room (on the east part of the map.) After that return and continue to go straight unto the next room. In this next room kill off the enemies and go into the door on the left wall. In this room another battle will happen. After the battle open the chest to get the Ceremonial Tool. After that leave, and go left into the next hallway. In this hallway, you'll encounter Blaze Masters who drop Ancient Memories. So, if you have any new items you wish to make, do so now! Anyways, continue going straight into the next room. Again, continue going straight, killing off the monsters until you find a Save Point, use it. And then leave, and then go left and go into the next room. Continue going straight until you come across a fork in the path, either go left or right because both paths lead to the same point. Anyways in the next room you will meet a new enemy, called Phantom Swords. Just kill 'em off 'cause they shouldn't pose much of a threat. Keep going straight killing off the Phantom Swords until you come to a save point on the right wall. Use it, and then enter the Boss Chamber ---------------------------------------------------------------- Level: 20(?) | Steal: N/A | | Trevor doesn't pose much of a threat, plus you don't even have | to take down his life bar that much. It's just mainly a story | driven battle. Just dodge his moves, and attack him with your | Battle I.D. and heal with your Fairy I.D. if you need to. | ----------------------------------------------------------------- After the battle head to the healing point and then exit the room. Continue going straight until you find a door on the right, go inside, and move into the magical circle. This will allow your Battle I.D. to learn Brute Force, which will allow you to open big doors. Anyways, leave this room, and don't forget to pick up the Magical Ticket on the right of you. Continue going right and until you come to a door you can't open. Use your Battle Type I.D's Brute Force ability and enter the next room. Keep going down the hallway until you come to a door that is Yellow, that is another Warp Room. Mark it, because we're not going to use it just yet. Continue going down the hallway until you find a door on the left side, go inside. In this section of the area, you will fight Slogra's. They shouldn't pose too much of a threat. Continue going straight to go down stairs. In this area you will be attacked by Skeletons, and thief demons or whatever, just kill them off and continue going forward. In the next room you'll fight some more skeletons and some Wizards. And in the next room you will face some Slogra's and Wizards, kill them off to open the barred off door. In the next room you'll face Ectoplasm, and a Lesser Demon. Kill 'em off, and keep going. In the next room you'll face off some Slorgra's and some more Lesser Demons. Go inside the next room you obtain the Sixth sense Brooch, which will let you know when an enemy is going to attack. After that head back up stairs. Now that we're back upstairs, continue going straight and into the other room (where the warp point is.) Then go left into the next hallway that we didn't explore just yet. Continue going down the new unexplored area and kill off the Thieves and into the next room to Obtain a Sun Tear. After that return to the Warp Room door, unmark it (by pressing the Triangle button.) And go inside. Once inside you'll notice that Warp Rooms are now activated. Just sit in the chair, and select Baljhet Mountains. ---------------------------------- D. Baljhet Mountains (Re-visted.)| ================================== Now that we are back here, head to the save room and to the shop to |
