Version 1.09 Author: The Crimson Phantom Aka: Jason L'Heureux Help Wanted Section: Seeking someone to figure out how much dex equals how much to hit. Probally will NEVER find this out as it is NOT listed ANYWHERE. Seeking info on these abilities Shadow Knight Disease Trail mana costs Version 1.00 Created February 12, 2004. All data for this faq has been derived from one of two sources, the game itself and the instruction manual. I will likly add one additional character's abilities and such every 1-3 days. I wouldn't hold my breath on getting all the spells listed, I plan to play through the game without using ANY skill points until I have 20 saved up, so that I may simply save the game and then unload skill points to get the correct figures behing the increases. I'm about 20% tempted into buying the ps2 network adaptor to go online but I am already using my 2 isp's from shaw@home so it would either require unhooking one computer or paying extra. At this point ONLY the Wizard's abilities are listed, I will endevor to add at least one more by tomorrow. I just wanted to let you all rest assured (and possibly get some help on the skill damages on other characters) that at least some faq was being done. Once this one is all up and completed, I will begin work on an Item creation faq for this game. Version 1.01 Added Skill tree requirements and the Shadowknight. Where it is already known the damage/bonus that each level will add to an ability. Also added the clerics abilities. Started on the tips and tricks etc section. Version 1.02 Added barbarian skill's stuff. Added ranger stuff. All character starting equipments and stats, for the ones known (aka wizard) the level up stat bonuses. Added the help wanted listing at the top. Version 1.03 Started flushing out skills. Lots more names down in the thanks section. Seriously thinking wolfy42 is out to get me, he keeps contributing so much that its going to make me go crazy or something, wow. Well lets get the basics down here, this is an indepth faq covering all of the characters, what abilities they obtain, and how effective each ability is at a particular skill level. Information for this faq was obtained from the game itself and the instruction manual that accompanies the game, if you see BOOK: that means it is a direct quote from the instuction manual. For the stats section I did the math for intelligence myself here are the data points I used. I spent all the mana down to 0 and having the bar at the lowest it could be, then timed how long it took to go back up, checking in 20 second intervals, and I did every test twice. The different times for the 20 second count were certainly due to how fast I pressed select to call up the screen to check. I used the cleric as the test char. We can assume that stanima follows suit on this percent replenished as well. For every point we could expect a rough approximation of around 0.5 mana per point per minute replenished. You get 1 skill point until level 7 per level, from levels 7 to 16 you will gain 2 skill points per level, from levels 17 to 26 you will gain 3 skill points per level, from levels 27 to 36 you will gain 4 skill points per level, from levels 37 to 46 you will gain 5 skill points per level, and from levels 47 to 50 you will get 6 skill points per level. For a grand total of 169 skill points you will be able to spend... or that is 8 maxed skills of your choice. I am seeking another person for confirmation of this. Every character can be male or female, their skin color, hair color, hair type, etc. can be changed to suit your preference. This is simply a cosmetic change, a male is in NO ways different than a female in terms of ability in this game. Where I list the skills when it says DETAILS that refers to the ingame details of the skill, spell, or ability. When I say BOOK that refers to how the ability is described in the instruction's. I must say I am quite impressed at this particular manual, most are not quite as well done. Strength increases melee damage and carrying capacity. Every 4 points is equal to approximatly 1 extra melee damage. Every point adds 1 to the total limit of weight that you can carry. Intelligence increases total mana and mana regeneration. Every 2 points is equal to approximatly 1 extra mana. For every point you would gain approximatly 0.5 mana replenished every minute. Dexterity increases damage for ranged weapons and the ability to hit with all weapons. Every 4 points is equal to approximatly 1 extra bow damage. Every 2 points gives one extra armor point. Stanima increases total health and health regeneration. Every two points is equal to approximatly 1 extra health. For every point you would gain approximatly 0.5 health replenished every minute. Let it be known that for skill trees you do NOT need to get all of the ones below a skill to unlock it, JUST one of the skills that touches it. For example to obtain Shock of Fire you ONLY need to get Blunt Weapons, Bolt of Frost & Frost storm... Bolt of Shock & Wizard beam are not required, OR you can get Blunt Weapons, Bolt of Shock & Wizard beam. ******************************************************************************* 2.10 Erudite Wizard Possessing great intelligence, the erudite wizard is not as skilled in hand-to-hand combat, but more than makes up for this shortfall with a devastating arsenal of magical abilities. Pure spell caster. Can learn powerful direct damage and area of effect spells. Strengths: Able to deal damage from great distances. Can imbue weapons with elemental energy. Weaknesses: Not proficient in melee combat. Limited in weapon usage. May not wear shields. Starting Stats are, (You get an additional 20 points to spend in whatever stat that you wish before you start, at level up Erudite Wizard gets 3 skill points.) Required character level: 1 Skill tree requirements: None. Details: This skill increases damage when blunt weapons are used. Book: This is your skill at using blunt weapons, such as staves. The damage you inflict with such weapons increases as your character's skill rank rises. This ability does not cost mana and is always in effect once aquired. Each level increases the damage with blunt weapons by 5%. Book: Frost Bolt fires a projectile of ice at an enemy, causing cold damage upon impact. As the skill rank rises, the damage caused by the bolt increases. At higher skill ranks, the bolt will shatter on impact, damaging enemies near the original target with scattering ice shrapnel. This ability must be activated and costs mana. Tendrils of energy will also sprout off from the target to strike other enemies within range as well. The Wizard beam lasts as long as you hold down the special ability button, or until your character runs out of mana. This ability must be activated and costs mana for each second of use. Appears to be 2 min and 2 max per level, extra foot every third level after 3, with tendrils starting at lvl 5 and then after the 1st two with that its one extra one every third. +2 mana consumed per level. Book: Cold Weapons imbues your weapon with magical cold, causing additional damage to your enemy. As the skill rank rises, damage and duration of the enchantment increase. At higher skill ranks, the cold effect will be granted to the weapons of nearby friends. This ability must be activated and costs mana. +2 min, +2 max (+3 every third level), +2 seconds per level, when the aura kicks in it adds 1 radius per level, and +1 min/max damage.
