The amount does not increase with each level. Enchant: Lvl 1: Dark Ripper (+2 combo hits) Lvl 2: Rising Phoenix (additional combo move) Lvl 3: Ground Zero Lvl 4: Use the above techniques without equipping crest. Strength: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 Defense: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 ***This legion is best used for fighting large groups of organic enemies. As you increase the strength level and force level of each Legion, their attack frequency and attack strength will increase, allow for maximum damage against enemies. The best time to summon the Guilt is when you are in the CENTRE of a group of enemies, so that once they are summoned, they will attack in a formation surrounding you, while protecting from engulfing enemies. Good uses for Guilt: a) Lognagaiser (Side A) b) Maponos (Boss #6) c) Fast moving enemies Best Legion Combonations: 1)Use Guilt in conjunction with Malice for a dual pronged attack approach. If you have both equipped, you are prepared for all kinds of enemies. Malice for metallic or armoured enemies, and Guilt for the organic fast (or slow) moving enemies. 2)Equip both Guilt and Blasphemy for a full on hard hitting approach. This combo is good for clearing out LARGE groups of enemies. Use the assist command for Blasphemy to kick a bomb into a group of enemies, and follow up with Guilt to clean up the stranglers. The best thing about this combo is that it is useful for taking out enemies that respawn constantly. If you take out the majority of enemies in one go, they will all respawn at the same time, allowing for you to repeat the process without having to regroup around moving enemies, since they are all attacking from their original positions. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ||||||| ========================================================================================== ======= Legion: Hatred Attribute: Power Description: Behemoth man-like legion; uses hand-to-hand combat Force: Lvl 1: 2 legions Lvl 2: 3 legions Lvl 3: 4 legions Lvl 4: 5 legions Assist: Bad Karma Lvl 1: Hatred hold off enemies while you attack Lvl 2: Hatred holds off enemy and damages at same time Lvl 3: Hatred holds of and damages enemy for longer period of time Lvl 4: Same as level 3, only extended period of time Enchant: Lvl 1: N/A Lvl 2: Breakdown lvl 1 Lvl 3: Breakdown lvl 2 Lvl 4: Use Breakdown lvl 2 wihtout equipping crest Attack: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 Defense: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 **This legion is very useful for fighting off the larger enemies like the Ogmas and the Guirath's. Once you have 4 Hatred Legion, you can hold the R1 button for parallel movement, and the Hatred will surround the nearby enemy. If your strength is high, Hatred won't even give the enemies a chance to attack since they can attack really fast if you keep pressing triangle. Hatred is good for dismantling the organice enemies, but is almost useless for attacking the armoured, or metallic enemies. Good Uses for Hatred: a) Maponos b) Zagan (Stage 3) c) Large enemies, enemy generators d) Spreading out tight groups of enemies Best Combonations with Hatred: 1)Equip both Hatred and Flawed together. Not only is Flawed good for attacking metallic enemies, but they can attack enemies while they are down. SO if you are faced with one of the Behemoth standing enemies, get Hatred to attack until he falls flat on his back, and quickly summon Flawed to drill him in the gut while hes down. If your strength is high enough, you can dispatch enemies like this in one swift attack. 2)Hatred and Arrogance make a great team. You can either use Arrogance's invicnibility assist to make your way through enemies, or you can use Hatred's tackle attack to to burst through large groups of enemies. Both of these abilities are good if you want to go through a level as fast as possible, and attack only the target enemies. This way you can plow through normal enemies, and go straight to your target, without wasting time with idle fighting. 3)Hatred and Thanatos make for the best hard hitting team ever. If you have Thanatos in his adult form thats even better, or even his Perfect form. There are two approaches to this combonation of Legions. You can have Hatred break up a group of enemies, and follow up with the Ignorant Masses to take out incredibly large amounts of enemies, or you can do something else. As you should know, Thanatos does a 4 or 5 hit attack on groups of enemies casueing them to go flying. Once he has performed this attack, call back Thanatos and switch to Hatred. While the enemies are recovering, Hatred can go up to the enemy, and pound them into the ground. This strategy is especially helpful when trying to get through level 12 or 13 with all of the tough skinned enemies, and it helps a lot if you have either 4 or 5 Hatred legions to attack with. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ||||||| ========================================================================================== ======= Legion: Malice Attribute: Arrow Description: Small archer-like legions; uses energy crossbow to attack Force: Lvl 1: 2 legions Lvl 2: 3 legions Lvl 3: 4 legions Lvl 4: 5 legions Assist: Great Depressor Lvl 1: Summon Malice for breif period of time to attack enemies Lvl 2: Same thing, longer time. Lvl 3: Even longer time. Lvl 4: Longest time Enchant: Lvl 1: Prisoner (attack move) Lvl 2: Long Distance Lock-on Lvl 3: Spartan (attack addition) Lvl 4: Use Prisoner, Long Lock-on and Spartan w/o equipping crest. Attack: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 Defense: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 Good uses for Malice: a) Volvor (break away armour) b) Gil Volvor (break away armour) c) Gil Balor (snipe weak spot) d) Sniper mode to attack weak spots of enemies. e) All metallic enemies Best Combonations with Hatred: 1) Equip Malice with Claw. Together, you can take out all metallic enemies with ease. Best suited for the stages with an abundance of Metallic enemies like Stage 3 and stage 6. Claw can also defend against organic enemies, which takes of any that may appear in those respective levels. 2) Malice and **Any hard hitter: Use this combo to your advantage in tough enemy battles like the Danu's, or for Bosses that only expose their weak spot after being attacked, like Gil Balor or Lognagaiser. If you do chose this combo, remember that it is best suited for players who like to let their legions do all the talking, while you do the walking. In some cases, it is better to make yourself the hard hitter, and then use Malice but you run the risk of losing life, if you are low on it. I think this would be best to use against small groups of enemies or particularlly large single ones. 3) Malice and Guilt are sometimes the best duo in the beginning of this game. Using their respective strengths against different monsters will win the battle in more than one scenario, and will usually be the most reliable since you KNOW that Malice is wicked against metallic enemies, while Guilt will slaughter the organics. ALthough, this combo becomes obsolete when Claw comes into the picture because Claw can take care of both Metallic, Organic, and even the spiked enemies that you would usually have to use Blasphemy to kill (like the Spike balls). |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ||||||| ========================================================================================== ======= Legion: Arrogance Attribute: Shield Description: "X" Shaped legion; uses energy to stun enemies for set period of time Force: Lvl 1: 2 legions Lvl 2: 3 legions lvl 3: 4 legions Lvl 4: 5 legions Assist: Rampage Lvl 1: Arrogance makes Sieg invicible for set amount of time Lvl 2: Sieg is invicible for longer time, and shield protects from stunning attacks Lvl 3: Same as Lvl 2, only longer period of time. Lvl 4: Longest period of time for invicibility. Enchant: Lvl 1: N/A Lvl 2: Avenger (counter attack) Lvl 3: Avenger Lvl 2 (stronger counter attack) Lvl 4: Use Avenger Lvl 2 without equipping crest. Attack: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 Defense: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 **I don't particularly like to use Arrogance, simply because you can mostly get through the game without ever using him, but sometimes you may wish to take a more defensive approach to things, and need to use their invincibility for a breif period in order to pass a group of extremely difficult enemies. I've never maxed Arrogance, and have almost never used him except to get a feel for his abilities, but thats about it. I will do my best to give you advice on how to use them though. Good uses for Arrogance: a) If surrouded by enemies, use Rampage to boost yourself through them. b) If you can find a good strategy to defeat a boss or group of enemies, use Rampage to go head first and worry about defense later. c) use Force mode and parallel movement to make a protective barrier around yourself. Good combos for Arrogance: 1) The best combo for Arrogance is Hatred. If you use Hatred and Arrogance's respective assist attacks, you can plow through enemies and make your way to target enemies without having to bother taking out mass amounts of enemies before you get your chance to strike. IMO, Arrogance is the least useful Legion in the game, although for gamers who like the defensive approach, they can use their defensive shielding to protect from enemies, or the Rampage instead of using a healing item. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ||||||| ========================================================================================== ======= Legion: Flawed Attribute: Claw Description: Ninja-esque legion, jumps high; uses metal claws to attack Force: Lvl 1: 3 legions Lvl 2: 4 legions Lvl 3: 5 legions Lvl 6: 6 legions Assist: Laughing Stock Lvl 1: Set a booby trap for enemies, when it is hit, Flawed emerges to do a drill attack to them Lvl 2: Same thing, only more attacks, and stronger hits Lvl 3: Even more, and stronger attacks. Lvl 4: The most attacks with the highest strength. Enchant: Lvl 1: High Jump (1.5x jump height) Lvl 2: Double Jump Lvl 3: Night Raid (stun attack) Lvl 4: Use High Jump, Double Jump, and Night Raid w/o equipping crest. Attack: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 Defense: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 **Flawed will eventually become the main legion that you have equipped all the time. You will eventually realize all of Flawed's strengths, and that they have very few, even almost no weaknesses when it comes to fighting normal enemies, AND bosses. The only flaw I can find in them, is that they have hard times hitting moving enemies, and need to be told to attack, otherwise they will idley slash away at some enemies. Although, by the time you aquire Flawed, you should be accustomed to using the attack orders button, so using Flawed will be a piece of cake. The advantages Flawed has are phenomenal. Flawed can take out BOTH organic and metallic enemies. Other enemies, like the Hover Spikes and Walking Spikes, that usually need to be taken out with Blasphemy, can be taken out with Flawed as well. Flawed's attack also makes many hits when performed correctly. In one push of the attack orders button, they can do anywhere from 6-12 hits to a single enemy, and if you have six legions, this makes for a great combo. Good uses for Flawed: a) All types of enemies, except fast moving ones. b) Bosses whose weak spots are on top of their heads, or in an unreachable location. c) Reach enemies who chose to attack atop high balconys or rooftops, because they can jump high. d) Basically, a very well rounded Legion, the best next to Thanatos Good Combonations for Flawed: 1) Technically, any legion with Flawed is a good combonation, but i'll give you the best ones. The first is Blasphemy and Flawed. Any level with a particularly large amount of enemy generators will be toast when attacked by this duet. Use Blasphemy's Crimson Carnage assist type attack, and follow up with the unleashing of Flawed, to drill the Generators in to the ground. A good example of this type of system is in Stage 3 where you have to take out 5 enemy generators in order to proceed through the level. 2) If you want to dismantle a large group of enemies, who are always staying together, use Arrogance and Flawed. You can use Arrogance' assist move to get into the centre of them, and then use Flawed to stun them and tackle them to the ground. This is especially good, since when you summon a legion near an enemy they are usually knocked to the ground, and Flawed's ability to attack grounded enemies is priceless in these kinds of situations. 3) Flawed and Hatred are the best power house combo in the game, if you exclude Thanatos from any given equation. Flawed's jumping abilities, as well as Hatred's tackling ability, allow Sieg to dodge and plow through opponents with ease. Mind you that this is best suited for enemies that appear in large groups and respawn in the same places. Since Hatred move so slow, it would suck to get caught in the middle of a group of entirely different enemies that you haven't had time to make good battle plans for. This combo is best used in levels 7 and 8. (See also Hatred combos) 4) Flawed and Thanatos: 'Nuff Said. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ||||||| ========================================================================================== ======= Legions: Blasphemy Attribute: Bomb Description: Red mine-shaped legion; uses Kamikaze techniques to attack Force: Lvl 1: 1 legion Lvl 2: 2 legions Lvl 3: 3 legions Lvl 4: 4 legions Assist: Crimson Carnage Lvl 1: Kick a Blasphemy at a group of enemies. Lvl 2: Larger blast radius, and stronger attack. Lvl 3: Same thing as Lvl 2. Lvl 4: Large Blast radius with high strength. Enchant: Lvl 1: soul +100 Lvl 2: soul +200 Lvl 3: soul +300 Lvl 4: soul +400 **These Enchant levels also come with defense bonuses, but are sometimes insignificant to the amount of attack and defense ups you can grab by replaying Stage 2 over and over again. Attack: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 Defense: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 **One thing to note. With Blasphemy, you may never want to summon them in Force mode, since each attack cunsumes Soul, and the same effect can be obtained through their Assist attack. Blasphemy has the ability to explode on impact into one or a group of enemies. You must learn to use this to your advantage later in the game if you can't find any other way of passing through certain levels. Blasphemy is essential for destorying Spike balls when you don't have Flawed in your party. Good uses for Blasphemy: a) Destroying Rudo Lognagaiser's Shield b) Attacking and damaging large groups of enemies. c) Destorying spiked enemies d) Stat bonuses Good combonations for Blasphemy 1) Blasphemy and Guilt are always a good combonation. If you launch a Blasphemy at a group of enemies, you can summon Guilt and use the parallel movement to go in for the kill, like creating a wall of destruction headed their way. The reason you want to use Blasphemy is because you want to disperse and knock down as many enemies as posssible before you turn Guilt into a moving wall of swords. I've never had a problem with this combonation ever in this game. This is how I got through levels like Stage 3 with a 3% time on the total results screen. Don't get over zealous though, this isn't a good strategy for every stage; mainly for for the ones early on in the game; the latter levels will have you rethinking your strategy since the enemies respawn so much, and become a lot stronger and won't be knocked out so easily. 2) If you are an expert at getting soul, and countering enemy attacks this combo is for you. Equip both Arrogance and Blasphemy. Using Arrogance's sheild abilities and their assist commands, you can make your way through many groups of enemies, and use Blasphemy to blow them to bits. You can launch all attacks from varied distance with no worry of ever getting hit. (Except for the laser shoosting enemies, but they aren't that difficult to dodge anyway.) The reason you need to know how to get a lot of soul, is because you will have to go melee for a while if you want to keep launching assist attacks since they consume soul. This is not suggested for long levels, since you will need to use a lot of soul. Although, this strategy is especially useful for replaying previous early levels, trying to level up, or gain attack and defense up items. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ||||||| ========================================================================================== ======= Legion: Thanatos Attribute: Ultimate Legion Description: Egg: Egg-like creature with wings; uses physical attacks Juvenile: Dinosaur like qualities with arms, physical attacks Adult: Monsterous form, with obscenely large arms; uses physical attacks Perfect: Human-like in form, with giant metallic wings, only 3x the size of Sieg. (God-like) Force: Lvl 1: Thanatos in Egg Form Lvl 2: Thanatos in Juvenile form Lvl 3: Thanatos in Adult form Lvl 4: Thanatos in Perfect Form Assist: The Ignorant Masses Lvl 1: Time slows, and Thanatos launches a series of homing energy bullets Lvl 2: Longer slow time, and more bullets which cause more damage. Lvl 3: Even longer time, a lot of hard hitting bullets. Lvl 4: Very long slow time, and the most bullets with the highest strength. Enchant: Lvl 1: Attack bonus Lvl 2: Soul Bonus Lvl 3: Self Heal (Stand still and wait for health to regenerate) Lvl 4: Use Self Health Recovery w/o equipping crest. Attack: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 Defense: Max: 8, Spiritual Max: 10 **Thanatos is the extreme Legion. He can destroy any type of enemy, and has the highest strength out of all the legions. He can single handedly destroy any boss, and has the unique ability of appearing behind enemies to launch his attack, making him almost impossible to dodge. Of course, his speeed, frequency of attack, size, attack, defense, and ignorant masses increase with each Force level. Good Uses for Thanatos: a) All bosses b) All enmies c) What isn't a good use for Thanatos? Good combonations for Thanatos: **By now you should know that Thanatos is the ultimate killing machine in Chaos Legion. There isn't one single Legion that Thanatos isn't a partner with, but if you want to read about the best, I suggest scrolling up and reading the individual combos listed in some of the other legions combonation lists. You can't go wrong with this guy. His assist attack is extremely devastating, especially when in large groups of enemies, and his normal attack in Force mode, can kill groups (up to and including 10) of enemies in a single attacking spree. There is nothing Thanatos can't do, so if you are a hardcore Chaos Legionator, I suggest getting every Thanatos piece in the game, and taking the time to max him out. It is well worth the rewards, and he is especially helpful when fighting the final 3 bosses in Azrail's temple. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ||||||| ========================================================================================== ======= Good Luck! I hope this guide is very helpful in learning the in's and out's of this game. There is obviously a certain level of personal preference when using these techniques. Make your own techniques, and use the legions any way you chose; I'm merely trying to help you on your way to becoming a true Legionator. All Question and comments can be forwarded to my email.
