Here's how: Name: (Name of Boss) Health: (Number) Difficulty: (Number)/10 (Written out difficulty) Level: (Name of Level) What I have to say: (Words) STRATEGY: (Strategy) Here are the worded difficulties: 1/10 - Incredibly Easy 2/10 - Very Easy 3/10 - Pretty Easy 4/10 - Easy 5/10 - Medium 6/10 - Hard 7/10 - Pretty Hard 8/10 - Very Hard 9/10 - Extremely Hard 10/10 - Incredibly Hard =============================================================2.1 - MAIN WALKTHROUGH ============================================================= BOSS 1: Name: Dr. Neo Cortex Health: 3 Difficulty: 4/10 (Easy) Level: Jungle Bungle What I have to say: This is the first game where Cortex is a boss that isn't last in the game. He is pretty easy here. STRATEGY: Cortex will start out by firing rapid lasers at you. Run around to avoid them. He will eventually fire a large shot at you; you have to spin back at him. Now, he will throw multiple bombs at you, naming a Crash enemy with each one. He will throw 5 bombs in total. Each bomb will take out one of the outer slices of the arena out, but the center is indestructible. Now, avoid his rapid fire again, and fire his big shot back at him. He fill fire some more bombs, which will take out the rest of the slices, leaving you just the middle platform to stand on. It might sound hard to avoid his rapid fire in just the middle platform, but he fires in a different pattern. Fire his last big shot at him. He will send for a little help . . . BOSS 2: Name: Mecha-Bandicoot Health: 7 Difficulty: 2/10 (Very Easy) Level: Jungle Bungle What I have to say: This guy is way easier to beat than Cortex, even though he looks harder. A small set of stairs will fall down, leading you to the top of the wall, and N. Gin's Mecha-Bandicoot up onto the platform you were just on. He will start out by firing multiple missiles into the air, which can be easily avoided. Next, he lays his chainsaw down. Just stay away from that. Then, he fires a big shot, much like the previous boss. Spin it back and it will hit the Mecha-Bandicoot in his chainsaw, and take off some health. After he fires his missiles and runs his chainsaw, spin the next big shot back at him. It will completely destroy the chainsaw. Now, he will fire missiles, and fire his next big shot at you. It will hit his missile launcher. After another fire of missiles, and another big shot, his missile launcher will be destroyed, and he will have 3 blocks of health left. He will just continue firing consecutive big shots, will you can use to defeat the Mecha-Bandicoot. BOSS 3: Name: Papu Papu's Men (Chase Fight) Health: N/A Difficulty: 3/10 (Pretty Easy) Level: Totem Hokum What I have to say: After Papu Papu takes care of Cortex; he will order his men to get Crash. Don't make the same mistake I did. Don't run and try spin the tribesmen normally, these guys are twice as fast, and are invincible. Just run towards the screen and outrun them. STARTEGY: These guys are easy, since they are the first chase fight. Jump over every pit, and every obstacle. If you feel that you have a big enough lead on them, you can try jumping off of the log and nabbing the clear gem. There is two waves of tribesmen to run from, so you shouldn't have a hard time. BOSS 4: Name: Tikimon Health: 3 Difficulty: 3/10 (Pretty Easy) Level: Totem Hokum What I have to say: Tikimon is the mighty totem god. He isn't very hard to beat, but may look it. STRATEGY: Tikimon will start out by trying to hit you with a few elbow slams, so run. Then, he will start doing his main attack. His main attack is laying his hands down, and causing his other hand to slam down in front of it. Just freakishly run around in circles, until he opens his mouth. Toss Cortex in his mouth. He will be damaged, and will summon 3 mini-totems to attack you. They work well in groups; so don't attack them just run. They will eventually just die themselves. Next, Tikimon will do the same as last time, but with a new attack. His fires lasers out of his eyes. Just keep running around in circles around Tikimon and you won't be hit. Throw Cortex in his mouth when he opens it again. He will summon 5 mini-totems. RUN. Continue running around until he opens his mouth for the last time. Throw Cortex in his mouth again. He will summon 7 mini-totems. Once they all die, you're through with Totem Hokum. =) BOSS 5: Name: Uka Uka (Ice Body) Health: 3 Difficulty: 2/10 (Very Easy) Level: Ice Climb What I have to say: Uka Uka will get really ticked at Crash and Cortex, and summon some ice to attack them. He is not hard at all, for the great evil mask. (Sarcasm) STRATEGY: Avoid Uka's attacks. They aren't really that hard to avoid, but still, don't be hit. Throw Cortex at one of the switches, and he will activate them. It will open up the center, revealing a button. Step on the button, and stay there. It will activate grills, and if Uka was on one, he will be damaged. The strategy doesn't really change at all after each hit. After he is defeated, he figures out that the Evil Twins want to destroy the world - thereby taking his job. Uka agrees with Aku that they will work together to beat the twins. BOSS 6: Name: N. Gin (sub-boss) Health: N/A Difficulty: 3/10 (Pretty Easy) Level: High-Sea Hi-Jinks What I have to say: N. Gin here is only a sub boss, so he has no health bar. He shows up, angry at Crash, and tries killing Crash with missiles. STRATEGY: This guy is really easy. Run around him as fast as you can, to outrun the missiles he repeatedly fires. After three waves of missiles, stand right behind one of the legs holding his crow's nest up. He will slowly throw a TNT, so run out of the way. If you were close enough, the TNT will blow up the leg. There is three legs in total, and are the same. There are two problems with this boss. The first thing is that if you get to close to the leg, it will cost you a mask, or a life. The other thing is when you're running around in circles; try to stay towards the inside, because there is a small crack in part of the arena, the part that you enter. You will have to slow down to prevent falling off, which will get you hit with a missile, which usually knocks you off. BOSS 7: Rusty Walrus (Chase Fight) Health: N/A Difficulty: 6/10 (Hard) Level: High Sea Hi-Jinks What I have to say: This is where it gets tricky. This is way harder than the chase with the tribesmen. STRATEGY: Even though Rusty is walking, he is still pretty fast. To outrun him, you must use everything you got to outrun him, and not waste one millisecond of time. That includes unnecessary double jumping, spinning, and stopping. There are lots of pits here, and the purple gem is hard to get in this fight. You will usually die getting the gem, but you will keep it as long as you don't get a game over (which will be very upsetting because you're almost done with the level, and you haven't broken a single world crate since you started the level.) There are grills that you will have to run around here, but they don't cause a problem if you're careful. You don't need to get every life box in this chase, because you will usually end up losing it. You can try if you want if you have a big lead and have 0 lives left. After you outrun him, you will find a big load of TNT crates, which N. Gin lands on. After a funny scene, the explosions of the crates send you flying . . . BOSS 8: Henchmania (Nefarious Tropy and Nitrus Brio) Health: 3 Difficulty: 4/10 (Easy) Level: High Sea Hi-Jinks What I have to say: . . .right onto an iceberg, where Crash meets two familiar faces. N. Tropy looks incredible in this game, and N. Brio looks absolutely awful. STRATEGY: Brio will go under some transformation, which turns him into a frog (!@$%%^) that looks awful as well. He will bounce around, so run around trying to avoid him. He will eventually fall back into the water, which brings up N. Tropy. Tropy will slam his "fork" into the ground, which smashed the iceberg to pieces, with Tropy in the middle. He will activate a shield, which doesn't affect anything. Just keep jumping from platform to platform, since the platforms sink. Eventually, Tropy will turn off his shield, so run over and whack him. Brio will come back up, bring the iceberg back together, and bounce again. Hit N. Tropy 3 times to successfully defeat this fighting duo. Boss 9: Dingodile Health: 4 Difficulty: 7/10 (Pretty Hard) Level: Boiler Room Doom What I have to say: Before you do this fight, look into the sky and start saying "Thank you, god, for putting a world crate before this fight." This is a really hard boss, right after a really hard level. Dingodile has loads of attacks to hit you with, so I'll ironically divide this guy into phases. STRATEGY: Phase 1 - He will start by firing 3 fireballs into the air. Just run around to avoid them. He will do that twice. He will start charging up a blast, so stand in front of one of the radioactive stones. When he's about to fire, run out of the way. It will release a button if he hit the stone. Slam the button, and Dingodile will be sprinkled upon. Run over and spin him. Phase 2 - He will fire his flamethrower around the arena at ground level, so jump over it whenever it gets to you. He will do the same thing again, only at head level. Just duck and don't get up to avoid this pathetic attack. He will charge again, hit the stone, slam the button, activate the sprinklers, and hit him. Phase 3 - He will fire his flamethrower at ground level again, only this time, he won't go in circles, he will wave it back and forth. That is harder to avoid, but I bet you can manage. He will activate a fiery wall, so run from that. He will do his charge again, lather, rinse, repeat. Phase 4 - He will do a very annoying attack now. He will do it around in circles again, but this time, he will repeatedly switch between head level and ground level. Try running for the most of the time, and avoid it if you have to. He will do two fire walls now. Run from them, and he will charge again. Do the usual, and then spin him to beat him. BOSS 10: Roaches (Chase Fight) Health: N/A Difficulty: 5/10 (Medium) Level: Classroom Chaos What I have to say: GET USED TO CORTEX's CONTROLS. STRATEGY: The roaches aren't hard to outrun, but they are really annoying. Here are some tips of avoiding the pesky things: -Don't break every box in your path. It wastes time. -If the roaches start to catch you, shoot like crazy. If you're lucky, you will survive (without a mask) -Use radial blasts if necessary. -If you are about to get caught, don't shoot the geek-bots in your path. -This isn't a tip, it's a hint. Take note that ammo boxes can be destroyed just by touching them. I can't really say much more. I just need to say good luck. BOSS 11: Madame Amberly Health: 3 Difficulty: 4/10 (Easy) Level: Rooftop Rampage What I have to say: Here's a real fight as Cortex. You will be fighting the very fat Madame Amberly. STRATEGY: Madame Amberly is pretty easy, but very annoying, because if you get a game over, you must do the chase fight with Nina again, and even if you die, you have to still do everything but the chase fight. Madame Amberly will start by opening the platforms with electricity, and releasing flames from it. Shoot it repeatedly to close it. Did I mention that in all Cortex boss fights, Cortex has unlimited shots. That's good in this fight. After MA finishes firing the beams, she will summon some bells to come at you. Shoot every bell, and Madame Amberly will turn around. Shoot the thing on her back to break one of her ropes holding her up. You pretty much just have to do that two more times, only each time, she opens more and more platforms, and fires more and more bells. BOSS 12: The Evil Twins Health: 6, 4, 4 (14 in total) Difficulty: 3/10 (Pretty Easy), 7/10 (Pretty Hard), 4/10 (Easy) (8/10 (Very Hard)) Level: Ant Agony What I have to say: When you fight the evil twins in their gigantic, awesome looking mech, it will be split into three different characters. Here they are: STRATEGY: Nina - Start by running towards one of the columns. The evil twins will come towards you and fire some ants out. Ignore them and wall reel yourself up. You will find a strange power source up there. Hit both of them. You must hit all six of the power sources to finish this part of the fight. He also can stomp, and fire a flamethrower. Cortex - Ironically, the hardest part of the fight. The mech's claws will transform into a laser cannon and a gatling gun. Start by running over to his left (your right) and firing like crazy at his laser cannon. He will fire his gatling gun, so avoid it. Now, run over to his right side (your left) and fire like wildfire at his gatling gun. He will fire his laser cannon. Keep switching back and forth, until both of the weapons are history. Mecha-Bandicoot and Crash - Crash will come back with the Mecha-Bandicoot, ready for action. Read the controls section of this guide to figure out its controls. The big shot is completely unnecessary, and won't need to use it. The evil twins will develop a cylinder-shaped shield around them, which is spinning slowly. It has several spaces, where you will attack them. The evil twins just use a light saber to attack you. It is incredibly easy to avoid. The problem with this fight is that it is not dying; you just need lots of patience. Watch out for the beam saber, and when you find a hole in the shield, fire a missile ([]) and take a blow at their mech. 3 more successful blows into their mech will completely destroy it. ========================================== 3.1 - More Stuff ========================================== Here is a little section of my guide where I do multiple things, I explain some tips, do Q+A, and lots of other stuff. Let's start with Q + A. Q: Buy or Rent? A: If you are obsessed with Crash, I definitely recommend buying, but if you like Crash, but aren't obsessed, I suggest renting it and seeing if you like it. Q: I heard that you could play as the Mecha-Bandicoot. Is this true? A: Yes, it is. Unfortunately, you only get to play as him for five minutes in the very end of the game, since Crash can't really blow a giant mech to smithereens by himself. Q: I heard that Cortex works with Crash in this game. Is this true? A: Pretty much. Uka Uka also helps them, because the Evil Twins want to destroy the world - That's his job! Cortex wants to help because he doesn't want to lose his brain. Q: Any new characters? A: Yes, quite a few. There is Nina Cortex, Tikimon, Mecha-Bandicoot, Madame Amberly, Rusty Walrus, The Evil Twins, Evil Crash, etc. Q: What is the Japanese name for this game? A: Crash and Cortex no Yabou. Q: Any strange appearances/glitches? A: Spyro the Dragon appears after Ant Agony, and takes out Brio, Tropy, and Gin. That's supposed to happen, though. This is a good game, but it is full of glitches. I got Cortex stuck in a Classroom Chaos room with the screen in a separate room. I managed to fix it though. Q: How are the levels organized? A: There are four main places in the game, and they have the hub, and 3 other levels with them. They each contain 6 gems. Here are the levels: HUB 1: N. Sanity Isle Level: Jungle Bungle *, * Level: Cavern Catastrophe Level: Totem Hokum !, * HUB 2: Iceberg Lab Level: Ice Climb * Level: Slip Slide Ice Capades Level: High Sea Hi-Jinks +, !, * HUB 3: Academy of Evil Level: Boiler Room Doom * Level: Classroom Chaos ! Level: Rooftop Rampage !, * HUB 4: Twinsanity Island Level: Rockslide Rumble Level: Bandicoot Pursuit Level: Ant Agony * Q: How are the bosses organized? A: Randomly. There are different bosses in different levels. I will label each level with a "*" if it has a boss. If it has a sub-boss, I will label it with a "+". If it has a chase fight, I will label it with a "!". Q: I looked at some reviews/forums, and noticed that many people hate the game. Is this seriously a bad game? A: No way. It's their opinion. This definitely isn't the best Crash game, but it's definitely not the worst. Q: How's the music? A: Some of the boss fight music is incredible, but some music from the levels is just plain annoying. ------------------------------------- I haven't got very many tips for this game, so lets move on to the end of my guide. ==================================== 3.2 - Copyright ==================================== Copyright: Thunder850, member of neoseeker.
