THIS IS GONNA BE ONE HELL OF A PARTY MACHINE! *********************** INTRODUCTION *********************** Thanks for clicking on the FAQ. This guide will chronicle all the types of enemies you encounter during Heaven Or Hell Mode. I will also give a few extra tips when encountering the bosses in this Mode. First of all, if you have not finished Dante Must Die Mode, please DO NOT continue reading the FAQ from this point (SPOILERS)! Only the Hardest of Hardcore Devils may pass! ************************ HEAVEN OR HELL INFO ************************ If you're Hardcore and are up for the biggest and baddest Party this side of Hell, you're up for a treat! What is Heaven Or Hell Mode? HOH Mode is the highest and most insanely intense difficulty after Dante Must Die Mode. All enemies (including Dante) can all be killed in ONE HIT! This is an intense test of reflexes to see who will strike first. Kill or be killed. The enemy placement is based on Dante Must Die Mode. If you can't handle that aspect, HOH Mode is NOT for you. How do I unlock HOH Mode? To unlock HOH Mode, you need to finish Dante Must Die Mode. To unlock DMD Mode, you must finish Hard Mode. To unlock Hard Mode, you need to complete the game on Normal or Easy difficulty. ************************ HEAVEN OR HELL TIPS ************************ First of all, don't even THINK for one second that you can simply beat Heaven Or Hell Mode using Super Dante and Infinite Devil Trigger! Super Dante with Infinite Devil Trigger DOES NOT make him invincible. If he gets hit just ONE TIME in the Mission, he dies! You're absolute best bet to getting through all the missions unscathed is to equip the following weapons: GUNS: --EBONY & IVORY --KALINA ANN --ARTEMIS DEVIL ARMS: --REBELLION --NEVAN I DO NOT recommend these weapons: --BEOWULF --AGNI & RUDRA --CERBERUS I recommend that you play HOH Mode as Super Dante and that you equip the QUICKSILVER Style. With Super Dante, he can use the QUICKSILVER Freeze Time move indefinitely. Now that you're fully prepared, are you ready for the Hardcore Party? THEN LET'S GET THE PARTY MACHINE ROLLING! ------------------------ ++ QUICK WALKTHROUGH ++ == MISSON 1 - A CRAZY PARTY == Violent response to an insane caller. ENEMIES ENCOUNTERED: DANTE'S OFFICE --PRIDE - 13 --LUST - 5 --WRATH - 5 You're biggest threat is Wrath. When they show up, quickly back away and then shoot them to make the Fireball explode. If you miss... MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 2 - THE BLOOD LINK == Bludgeon the devils like an iron hammer. ENEMIES ENCOUNTERED: OUTSIDE DANTE'S OFFICE --PRIDE - 11 --LUST - 5 --WRATH - 3 --SLOTH - 5 BOSS: --HELL VANGUARD When battling the HV, immediately Freeze Time and then hurl a Level 2 Stinger at it to end the Mission. MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 3 - THE DEVIL'S TOWER == Invade the colossal tower. ENEMIES ENOCUNTERED: 13TH STREET & LOVE PALACE --PRIDE - 10 --LUST - 6 --WRATH - 1 --SLOTH - 6 --ENIGMA - 2 BOSS: --CERBERUS Freeze Time and target its feet. Use the Hundred Stab on either foot to end the battle. MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 4 - THE UNINVITED ONE == Find the key to the stars. ENEMIES ENCOUNTERED: ENTRANCEWAY --LUST - 4 (RESPAWNING) LIVING STATUE ROOM & SURGE OF FORTUNAS --ENIGMA - 8 --LUST - 3 --GLUTTONY - 5 --SLOTH - 3 CHAMBER OF SINS --ABYSS - 3 --SOUL EATER - 2 BOSS: --GIGAPEDE As soon as the fight starts, jump down and start blasting it with Ebony & Ivory. Easy. MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 5 - OF DEVILS AND SWORDS == Unleash your might on the demonic gatekeepers. ENEMIES ENCOUNTERED: --BLOODGOYLE - 3 --SLOTH - 2 --ENIGMA - 5 --PRIDE - 20 BOSS: --AGNI & RUDRA These two tend to block your gunshots, so you'll need to get in close. Freeze time and then shove a Stinger in to both of them. MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 6 - FAMILY TIES == Clear the trial and forge a new path. TRIAL OF WISDOM You can avoid this room altogether if you want. TRIAL OF SKILL --SOUL EATER - 4 --GLUTTONY - 2 After passing through the millions of spikes, you'll have to keep aware of the enemies that appear after retrieving the Key Item. TRIAL OF THE WARRIOR --GLUTTONY - 5 --LUST - 5 --SLOTH - 1 --WRATH - 3 MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 7 - A CHANCE MEETING == Duel of the demon children. THE DIVINE LIBRARY --DAMNED PAWN - 5 --DAMNED KNIGHT - 1 SKULL SPIRE (RESPAWNING) --DAMNED PAWN - 6 --DAMNED KNIGHT - 2 TRANQUIL SOULS ROOM PT. 1 --GREED - 4 ENTRANCEWAY (RESPAWNING) --ABYSS - 3 CURSED SKULL CHAMBER --GREED - 3 --SLOTH - 4 TRANQUIL SOULS ROOM PT. 2 --GREED - 2 --HELL VANGUARD - 1 BOSS: --VERGIL Be careful! Vergil can block and counter your attack even if you Freeze Time! Use the Stinger to end the battle. MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 8 - A RENEWED FEAR == Burst forth from the great demon's womb. You're biggest problem in this Mission aren't the enemies but the acidic puddles! Be extra careful of the acidic water OR ELSE! LEVIATHAN'S INTESTINE PT. 1 --GIGAPEDE LEVIATHAN'S INTESTINE PT. 2 --ENVY - 8 LEVIATHAN'S RETINA --ENVY - 15 LEVIATHAN'S INTESTINE PT. 4 --GIGAPEDE LEVIATHAN'S STOMACH (NO POWER) --ENVY - 8 BOSS: --LEVIATHAN'S HEARTCORE You don't need to use Freeze Time here. Use the Stinger on any of the side Hearts and then Stinger the Heartcore when it pops out. MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 9 - FADED MEMORIES == Christen the sorceress of the abyss with a blade. PROVISIONS STOREROOM (BLUE ROOM) --ARACHNE (S) - 4 SUBGROUND WATER VEIN (RESPAWNING) --ENIGMA - 5 ROUNDED PATHWAY PT. 1 --GREED - 2 --GLUTTONY - 1 ROUNDED PATHWAY PT. 2 (RESPAWNING) --ENIGMA - 2 PROVISIONS STOREROOM (RED ROOM) --ARACHNE (S) - 5 LIMESTONE CAVERN --BLOODGOYLE - 7 BOSS: --NERVAN This fight is very tricky! Even if you use the Freeze Time ability, Dante can still get hit with Bats! You'll have to do up-close combat and then use super evasive techniques to expose Nervan. Once she's exposed, slam a Stinger into her. MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 10 - THE JOB == Strengthen the silent bridge. LIMESTONE CAVERN --BLOODGOYLE - 8 ROUNDED PATHWAY PT. 1 --DULLAHAN - 3 Try not to fight the Dullahan in this area. SUBGROUND WATER VEIN (RESPAWNING) --ENIGMA - 5 PROVISIONS STOREROOM (BLUE ROOM) --ARACHNE (S) - 4 --ARACHNE (L) - 2 MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 11 - REVENGE == Give a guest from the past an adequate homecoming. GEARS OF MADNESS --ENIGMA - 2 ALTAR OF EVIL PATHWAY --SOUL EATER - 5 ALTAR OF EVL --SOUL EATER - 4 TEMPERANCE WAGON --LUST - 5 --PRIDE - 7 --WRATH - 1 --GLUTTONY - 1 --ENIGMA - 2 Be careful when shooting Wrath or else... BOSS: --BEOWULF This is super easy. Just shove a Stinger in its sensitive-nosed ass. MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 12 - HUNTER AND HUNTED == Reclaim the bridge before the soul is lost forever. Just hope your reflexes are faster than the enemies in this sequence. Remember, all it takes is ONE hit to fail the mission! TEMPERANCE WAGON --LUST - 1 --SLOTH - 6 --PRIDE - 4 --WRATH - 4 --GLUTTONY - 5 --ENIGMA - 1 Watch out for Wrath! ALTAR OF EVIL --GLUTTONY - 10 ALTAR OF EVIL PATHWAY --BLOODGOYLE - 7 GEARS OF MADNESS --BLOODGOYLE - 8 MARBLE THROUGHWAY --HELL VANGUARD --PRIDE - 2 --LUST - 7 BOSS: --GERYON PT. 1 --GERYON PT. 2 Use Freeze Time to stop the missiles it shoots. Get in close and shove a Stinger to end both battles. MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 13 - CHAOS' WARM WELCOME == Battle of blood and of brothers. EFFERVESCENCE CORRIDOR --DAMNED PAWN - 9 --DAMNED BISHOP - 2 LUX-LUMINOUS CORRIDOR --DAMNED PAWN - 10 --DAMNED BISHOP - 5 BOSS: --VERGIL The same strategy from Mission 7 applies here. MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 14 - DRIVE! == Charge upward to the sky. Slam a Stinger in her face to end the battle. MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 17 - INNER-DEMONS == Confront your shadow. TRIAL OF THE WARRIOR Ignore this area. TRIAL OF WISDOM --ARACHNE (S) - 2 --SOUL EATER - 2 TRIAL OF SKILL --GOOD LUCK! SKULL SPIRE --ABYSS - 3 --SOUL EATER - 2 BOSS: --DOPPELGANGER You need to be extra careful here. The Doppelganger can still attack you while you attack the light source lids. When the Doppelganger is exposed to the light source, it is instantly killed. MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 18 - INVADING HELL == Break the seal and battle into the depths. DAMNED CHESSBOARD --DAMNED PAWN - 8 --DAMNED KNIGHT - 2 --DAMNED ROOK - 2 --DAMNED BISHOP - 2 --DAMNED KING - 1 --DAMNED QUEEN - 1 ROAD TO DESPAIR (RESPAWNING) --THE FALLEN - 2 LOST SOULS NIRVANA All the boss strategies I've listed above all apply for each battle. GOOD LUCK!! MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 19 - FORCES COLLIDE == Topple the great beast with fate's bullet. ROOM OF FALLEN ONES --ABYSS - 5 NIRVANA ROOM --ABYSS - NEVERENDING Immediately smash the first green mirror you see! After that, smash the second green mirror or else... INFINITY NIRVANA --ABYSS - 4 BOSS: --ARKHAM PT. 1 --ARKHAM PT. 2 DO NOT use Freeze Time against Arkham! Wait for him to appear and then shove a Stinger in him. Once Vergil appears, attack simultaneously to end the battle. MISSION COMPLETED! == MISSION 20 - SCREAMING SOULS == Cast off your pride and embrace your fate. BOSS: --VERGIL I won't even spoil it here. You can figure it out by now. MISSION COMPLETED! Congratulations, you just beat the most insane difficulty in DMC history! While a difficult game like Ninja Gaiden implements the use of strategic but fast combat, DMC3 throws strategy out the window and throws everything but the kitchen sink at you.
