Introduction:
Hello I am David Currie, as you probably already know as my name is at the top
of the page! A lot of people think that the Observatory on the hills behind
Cedar Groove is fake, non-existent, and really just reject it as a possibility
of actually being something there. There is a way of getting there!!!!!! YES
THERE IS A WAY OF GETTING THERE!!!!!! Not much there but still you will have the
honor of being able to do something that not many are able to do and in this FAQ
I will show you haw you can get to this place of mystery. It must exist anyway
otherwise why would the put it on the map. I am currently taking e-mails from
ANYONE who wants ANY questions answered about GTA3, ANYTHING AT ALL it doesn't
have to be about the observatory. The bellow methods have all been tested time
and time again except for the last one, which I will update as soon as I can get
information of anyone being able to do it. Do not get discouraged is you cant
manage to get there, it took me three days to work out how to get there and then
another week to manage to at last get up there. If you think up or find out any

What it is:
It is really just a round building with a long thing coming from the roof that
is probably the telescope but I wont go on about that. I have heard some rumors
that the Mibotsu Monstrosity is at the observatory, it is not true. There is
nothing there and the ground underneath it is not even solid SO DO NOT ATTEMPT
TO LAND ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some of it may be solid but most of it is not. The
land just before it is solid, IT IS SOLID!!!! But the ground around it is not
solid, NOT SOLID AROUND IT!!!!!!!!!! Other than that it is pretty pointless
going there but it is like the ghost town, I didn't believe in it until I got
there but I HAVE SEEN IT!!!! When I heard about the ghost town I set about
trying to fly and at last managed it and got there. The next step for me was
exploring off the map, which meant trying to fly away from all the islands,
which the map did not show. The next thing was exploring ON the map, which
firstly meant the observatory!
How to get to it:
Well first things first there are three ways I know of getting to the
observatory. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO FLY A DODO OR CAR TO BE ABLE TO DO ANY THREE OF
THESE FOUR METHODS, ONE DOES NOT WORK YET!!! If you cant fly then there is an

Method 1: Get into the plane and head up to Cedar Groove. The Columbian cartel
will make this way pretty difficult sometimes; I just depends where they all
are. Start where the traffic lights are at the beginning of the road where one
part goes winding down to Whichita Gardens. Rev the plane up by holding down R1
and X. When you feel confident and you think there is not many cars about begin
to run along the road. As soon as you let go hold the DOWN arrow. NOTE: holding
down will make it very difficult to turn so I suggest using the analog stick for
turning if you encounter a car along the way. As soon as you see sparks let go
have down and stabilize the plane. You need to turn very quickly BUT DON'T HOLD
THE DIRECTIONAL BUTTON, ONLY TAP THEM! Head up the hill towards the hill and you
should have enough altitude to make it over the hills.
Method 2: This one is rather harder but doesn't require as sharper turning so
late on. Head up to Cochrane Dam and rev the plane up at the beginning of the
dirt path along the top of the dam. Use the same method for taking off as you
did on the last one and just go straight forward as you reach the end of the
dirt track and straight over the hill. Ta-da
Method 3: This one is very different to the others in one way; you fly a tank
instead of a dodo! Start of at the easiest place for any flying vehicle to take
off, Francis International Airport! Yes you are able to get an easy take off for
this mission! Get the tank by either risking a six star wanted level and trying
to steel one or you could just put in the code, I wonder what one you will
prefer? The cheat is (O,O,O,O,O,O,R1,L2,L1,TRIANGLE,CIRCLE,TRIANGLE) and the
tank will just fall from the sky! Take it to the far end of the runway and start
to drive down the runway heading towards Staunton Island. As you are driving or
flying you must continually be pressing the circle button so you are always
firing the cannon, it will give you more height and speed for taking off. As
soon as you take off you just turn left so you are heading towards the hills
behind the Cartel Mansion. Note: the tank has very different turning than the
dodo. One tap to long and it will go spinning into oblivion! This really does
require extremely light touches to turn! Just keep firing the cannon and you
will gain altitude all the time and when you get to the hills you will just soar
over them and the observatory is in front of you but do not land in the tank! It
will take to much land to stop. Thanks Thomas
Method 4: The hardest method so far and could be impossible. I have tried but
failed and am just putting it in here so that some more experienced players can
maybe try it out and pull it off. If you are a beginner and can't fly then I
suggest going back and keep trying the other two methods, as this one is almost
impossible! Get a Dodo in your hideout and shut the door. Then use the "blow up
all car cheat" (L2,R2,L1,R1,L2,R2,TRIANGLE,SQUARE,CIRCLE,TRIANGLE,L2,L1) and
quickly get your Dodo up to cedar grove and take off without the difficulty of
traffic. I have never, I repeat NEVER managed to do it. I just put it in as
another thing to fill up the page!
Can't Fly? Here Is A Way To See It!
I have at last figured out a way to see it without flying! Get a Patriot (bet
you guessed that was coming!) And head up to the hills behind the Cartel
Mansion. Go up to the hills on the right hand side of the Cartel Mansion and
start going left only when you have reached as far up as you can go. Now head
left and soon you should come to a ridge that has steep sides on either sides.
Drive the Patriot up on top of the ridge and get out. NOTE: The patriot will
slide down the ridge so watch where you stand! Then look up towards the west and
there it is! You can try and shoot down the dodo's that fly about the sky , I
have to admit I have never shot it down!
Questions & Answers:
Q: Do all the above methods work?
A: No, as I explained methods number 1,2 and 3 all work and have been tested
multiple times by myself and some of my friends. But method 4 has not worked yet
but hopefully soon!
Q: Is the Maibatsu Monstrosity at the observatory?
A: No, I have also heard that it was there but it is not, I think it is just
another stupid thing that is on the radio in the car. It makes some people
believe that it is there, it does exist and you need to do something to get it,
but so far nothing has been proved. Another thing I want to clear up, there
really is not much to see ant the observatory, you just get to do what so few
can do to this day.
Q: Can I e-mail you about anything?
A: Anything within reason! I take e-mails only for GTA3 at this moment but I am
hoping to get all my games up and running with guides and FAQs. This one has
taken me the best part of an hour so I wont do them straight away.
Q: if I send you a cheat/guide/FAQ will I get credit?
A: Yes I will give you full credit. Although I would love to send the people who
submitted a cheat to me a t-shirt, a mug, and all the novelty stuff I really
don't have that kind of money! What I mean is I will put you name at the top of
the page alongside mine and put you in the credits box at the bottom of the
page.
Q: Is there any way that you can get up there with the patriot and actually
stand next to it?
A: No there is no way to do that, the ground around it is not solid anyway.
