Version Updates ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0.71; January 15, 2008: Fixed image links. 0.7; April 25, 2006: Fixed dead map links. 0.6; October 16, 2005: Added a note about the girlfriend theory proving true through the hot coffee mod. 0.5; January 24, 2004: The last update wasn't posted, I wanted to continue on before uploading a new version. I'm happy with the changes though. I'd like to put all interiors into tables, which makes them a lot easier to scan through, and it looks a lot cleaner. Take a look at the Angel Pine Trailer interior which I've changed to table form, to get an idea of what I mean. 0.4; January 10, 2004: Fixed a few errors. Got an ARMax, so now I can find all these new interiors that have been discovered, and document them here. But here's the dilemma I'm in: the interiors listed here start to deviate from the main list, that has all the updated current finds run by carpetdweller (most found with a cheating device). That means some numbers don't match. Now, after I've been finding the ones listed under those numbers, they aren't in order here and won't be found in that order. My plan is to a) Get rid of all numbering of interiors, and list interiors simply by which heaven they're found in b) Make updated maps, unnumbered, for each heaven c) Have the link of each picture go to it's name, not number d) If a cheating device is needed to view This way, any inconsistencies won't exist any more. Expect to see that in the next update. 0.3; December 31, 2004: Added new variation of the interior universe, with the only discovery in it being Burgershot. Also added some various fixes and names of missions where you see interiors due to submissions. 0.2; December 28, 2004: Added interiors 30-47, with explanations of each. Updated the map up to 42. Renamed many, many interiors to match their official names found on the disc in the American.gxt file. 0.1; December 20, 2004: FAQ first created. Even after brief instructions posted, many people were still confused. Also, it's growing so large that it deserves its own FAQ. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Intro (what this is all about) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This FAQ is all about what's been unofficially dubbed the Hidden Interior Universe. You can see a variety of interiors here: from areas only seen in cutscenes, to regular clothing shops, to the hidden tattoo parlour, to Liberty City, and even the girlfriends sex spots. This Hidden Interiors Universe area is where all interiors in the game are found. That includes everything found in-game, but also things cut out from the game, or interiors that never made it in the final version. This has to be the best glitch in any GTA, ever. It was first discovered December 12th, 2004, and yet there are still new finds that are occurring happening daily. If you've got some time, I suggest reading through the original (and still current) topic about the discovery here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=166773&st=0 You'll see it's quite amazing how things progressed from the start. Keep in mind that many interiors can be found WITHOUT the use of a cheating device such as a GameShark; you just need the jetpack cheat. Although some are still only possible with a cheating device, we're looking for ways to find them without having to have a cheating device. Each interior is listed as whether you need a cheating device or not. Your input is appreciated! One person can only find so many things, but with others searching as well, you can find a lot more. Why waste your time looking for Bigfoot (fake!), when you can actually make a discovery here, that no one, out of the millions of people that have played San Andreas, have ever seen? Now, on to me. I've been playing GTA from a while now, and have also run a site dedicated to the GTA series for a few years. I enjoy just playing around in GTA, looking for secrets, more than I play missions. I've tried to keep this FAQ clean and simple, so it's easier to look through. I've also tried to keep it as spoiler free as possible, so you can look through this at any point in the game without giving anything away. The biggest spoiler you'll find are simply when I say that a certain area was used in a cutscene for a mission. If a spoiler is absolutely necessary, it'll be mentioned. Luckily, I have a TV tuner card, so all the items listed in the FAQ that would benefit from a picture have a link to it. Just copy/paste the URL into your address bar and go there. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Submit and Contact ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you'd like to get in contact with me, email me at gamingfaqs@gmail.com. Please use proper spelling and grammar when writing an email. If I can't read it, I can't respond to it. Be sure to include a username, so I can credit you appropriately. If you don't leave a username, I'll just use the one in your email. If you haven't received a response from me in a couple of days, it's for one of the following reasons: a) Your email contains a spoiler that I haven't been to yet, so I won't read it until I'm there b) I haven't had a chance to try that hidden interior yet, and I'll respond once I've tried it Keep in mind that your submissions may be reworded to properly fit the context it's being put in. I'll try and answer any questions you have about the Hidden Interiors trick. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Instructions [IS01] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- [Basic Instructions] --- Ok, to make anything work in the rest of this FAQ, you're going to need to know what to do first. Luckily, it's quite simple. Here we go: 1) Go to the gym in Ganton, Los Santos. 2) Kill all four people inside. 3) Use the jetpack cheat (Left, Right, L1, L2, R1, R2, Up, Down, Left, Right) 4) Go right on the marker, and fly straight up with the jetpack. You'll notice everything is pitch black. 5) Pause the game, and set a marker (circle when map is on) 2 blocks directly east. 6) Now, fly in that direction while trying to maintain the same height. It's not imperative to stay at exactly the same height, but try your best. On the way there, you should pass by (not always, but usually) 2 people walking on an invisible black surface. Continue onwards to the marker. 7) Once you near the marker, you should see a yellow marker floating on the ground. If you don't see it, hold R2 and L2 to hover, and then use R1 to look around and see if it's above or below you. 8) Land on, or near, the marker. This can be tricky, though. At some parts there is an invisible wall, so fly up and then down again to get past those. At some parts too, the land is not solid and you'll drop past the marker. Just fly back up, and land on another side. Keep in mind that this is one of the easier markers to enter; some will be much more difficult. 9) Once you're beside the marker, take off the jetpack and go inside. The game will load the Angel Pine Motel interior, and you'll find yourself inside. Look for the jetpack behind you, or it might be on you, or you might need to use the cheat again. Whichever the case, simply fly up and there'll be a bright blue sky. Welcome to the main part of the hidden interior universe! If you can watch WMV videos, this process (and it continues to the hidden tattoo parlour) can be seen in the video I made here: http://www.edgefiles.com/files/17888.html To summarize... go to the gym in Ganton, kill all four people, use jetpack cheat, fly up through wall by marker, then go to the Brothel or use the map. Once you can do those steps easily, finding other interiors shouldn't be a problem. However, each will be explained in-depth further on in the FAQ. --- [Alterior Methods of Entering] --- The best way to enter the hidden interiors universe is by far, the method through the gym. All maps that have been made are made in relation to you entering from the gym, so it makes the most sense to enter from there. However, just for fun, here's a list of other ways to enter (1 known so far): Enter through Pig Pen: To enter through the Pig Pen, first go to it in the game (located at the mid-northern side of Los Santos). Once inside, go over to the corner where you can see a bar, with a fridge at the end. Hop on the counter, and then try jumping on top of the fridge. Sometimes you'll land on top of the fridge, but after a few tries you should pop up above the interior and be in the hidden interiors universe. If you try finding things on the map, everything will be different from what is normally there. The only way to locate other interiors is to find their positions relative to the Pig Pen. --- [Outside Limits Instructions] --- These instructions are for reaching hard-to-get-to areas such as the girlfriend's sex places. They are outside the normal limits, so if you flew there normally you'd be stopped by an invisible wall. By using these steps, you can make it, and land on top of ones such as those. Any interior that says "Strafing Technique Required": Yes, refers to this. 1) Place a marker on the map of where'd you'd like to go. 2) Using R2+X or L2+X to strafe, hold the two buttons down and go in the direction you'd like. You need to aim yourself 90 degrees away from your location that you want to go to. Pull the right analog stick all the way to the side, so that the red marker appears directly up on the screen. You can then adjust your angle to make it so that you are going directly straight. 3) Once you reach the marker, immediately hold R2 and L2 to hover. With a weapon, look up with R1 to see the interior, or look below to see if it's below you. 4) In most cases, the Jetpack will stop working now, so you can only go left or right by strafing, even if you're holding X. These normal limits of areas can be explained because their the edge of the land bordering the water before the SF airport. To see what I mean, edisoncarter has traced out the edges of where you actually are, over what the map appears to show you. The red zones are areas that kill your jetpack if you try and fly there normally. To get into/past the red areas for a bit of time, read the instructions above. View the limits here: http://www.maxbot.com/misc/HeavensMap.jpg --- [Codes] --- If you have a cheating device, it'll make things incredibly easier! Firstly, you can go wherever you want without worrying about the jetpack dying. Also, you can drop below the "Loading" sign, and make it back up, with the interiors still loading. Make sure you know what cheating device you have before trying to enter these codes. Because of this Interiors Universe trick, many people have actually invested in one just to find more interiors. Keep in mind that you need to enter a "master code", which unlocks the game, before trying to enter any codes listed here. The necessary master code can easily be found with a search on google. This is for the jetpack unlimited height code. Use L2 or R2 to fly around when you're above the max height. Using the following code for GameShark/CodeBreaker/AR2: Jetpack Unlimited Height (use L2 and R2 to move around) 1024E2E4 00003BD2 D0700942 0020BFFF 1024E2E4 00003BB0 Jetpack Unlimited Height PAL 1024E3D4 00003BD2 D0700A42 0020BFFF 1024E3D4 00003BB0 Jetpack Unlimited Height ARMax NTSC *what I use* 2V43-KT9J-J3XJH KX13-2Y9F-7VNN0 QCXT-15GA-TTC1R TD9X-QUQW-TFNE8 Jetpack Unlimited Height ARMax PAL QEV6-PTCF-814EG V8YR-XBTR-XHH34 HW3F-ZP82-3YGR0 B6BF-0NBM-N5X3T ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. Basics [BS01] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- [Map] --- Right now I've divided the map into two: locations you can get to easily, and further out locations you can ONLY see from below. They're both on this page: http://thegtadomain.com/sanan/himap.php. Keep in mind this map is old - some numbers may not match up with interiors listed in this FAQ. That page is all done without cheating devices, though. I'm working on new maps right now. --- [Explanation] --- First off, a list of all the known interiors can be found at the top of this page in the Table of Contents. You'll also have to understand that you may need to enter a different marker to get a different location to load. You'll notice at first, the world is all black when you fly up from the gym. When you enter the Brothel's marker, it all turns to a sky blue. Each is a different sort of part to the universe, and different interiors can be found in each. That is why there leaves so much exploring to be done. You can never really tell when every interior has been found. Just as you think the search is over, new things can be discovered by other people. Also, the interior universe is extremely high in the air. Almost all the buildings are above max height, and if you decide to jump off one of them and fall to the ground, you've got a long way to go. The reason they're located above the max height, and not inside the actual building space, is to save loading times in the game. This way, the interior is only loaded once entered, not when you're near it. After the AUDIOZON.ipl file was found on the game's disc and read as text, it was realized that this contained 150 interiors - each listed with it's location in the sky. This was a huge a find, and was then mapped the game's map. Most could only be found by using a cheating device, because pretty much all of the areas you can reach without a cheating device have been found already. Although there are 150 interiors listed in that file, some that are in the game aren't listed there (or have a filename we're not recognizing and associating with the interior). --- [Summarized List] --- Here's a list of interiors. Each has it's version of heaven it's located in, and it's filename. Along with that, you'll find the proper name, and the order in which it was discovered. Unnamed filenames means we're still looking for them in that heaven. Ver: The version of the interior universe it's found in (heaven). Filename: What it is referred to as on the game's disc. Proper Name: What we know it as in-game (sometimes a guess, not definite as of yet). Num: Numbers are based on order of discovery. +-----+----------+-------------------------------------------+-----+ | Ver | Filename | Proper Name | Num | |-----+----------+-------------------------------------------+-----| | | | | | | | | Heaven Nickname: Liberty Heaven (1) | | | | | | | | 1 | LAHS1B | Burglary House X3 | 78 | | 1 | SMASHTV | | | | 1 | CARMOD1 | Transfenders | 30 | | 1 | GF1 | Denise's Sex Place | 34 | | 1 | LACS1 | | | | 1 | AMMUN1 | Ammunation (V2) | 32 | | 1 | FDREST1 | Cafe | 31 | | 1 | TSDINER | Welcome Pump, The | 75 | | 1 | JETINT | Jet | 74 | | 1 | SWEETS | Sweet's House | 44 | | 1 | WUZIBET | Wu Zi Mu's | 58 | | 1 | MAFCAS | Caligulas Casino | 48 | | 1 | MAFCAS2 | | | | 1 | MAFCAS2 | | | | 1 | JUMP2 | | | | 1 | JUMP1 | | | | 1 | ABATOIR | Sindacco Abatoir | 102 | | 1 | CHANGER | | | | 1 | SVVGHO1 | | | | 1 | UNKNOWN | Liberty City | 42 | | 1 | UNKNOWN | Trials Stadium | 38 | | 1 | UNKNOWN | Warehouse 2 | 8 | | 1 | UNKNOWN | Sub Urban | 33 | | | | | | | | | Heaven Nickname: B Dups Crack Heaven (2) | | | | | | | | 2 | BDUPS1 | B Dups Crack Palace | 10 | | 2 | CARMOD2 | Loco Low Co. | 26 | | 2 | LASTRIP | Pig Pen, The | 40 | | 2 | GF2 | Katie's Sex Place | 49 | | 2 | BARBERS | Reece's Barbershop | 50 | | 2 | LAHS1A | Burglary House X2 | 77 | | 2 | VGHSB3 | Burglary House X9 | 92 | | 2 | VGHSB1 | Burglary House X10 | 92 | | 2 | CARTER | | | | 2 | CHANGER | | | | 2 | SVVGHO2 | | | | 2 | RYDERS | Ryder's House | 43 | | 2 | UNKNOWN | Angel Pine Trailer | 51 | | 2 | UNKNOWN | Big Smoke's Crack Palace | 56 | | | | | | | | | Heaven Nickname: Ho Heaven (3) | | | | | | | | 3 | SEXSHOP | Sex Shop | 17 | | 3 | TATTO3 | LV Tattoo Parlor | 18 | | 3 | LAHSB4 | Burglary House X1 | 76 | | 3 | BROTHL1 | Brothel | 2 | | 3 | CARMOD3 | Wheel Arch Angels | 11 | | 3 | BDUPS | B Dups Apartment | 9 | | 3 | STRIP2 | Big Spread Ranch, The | 6 | | 3 | STUDIO | Record Label Hallway | 5 | | 3 | BROTHL2 | Brothel 2 | 3 | | 3 | OGLOCS | OG Locs House | 12 | | 3 | POLICE4 | | | | 3 | GF3 | Helena's Sex Place | 35 | | 3 | GENOTB | Inside Track Betting | 4 | | 3 | POLICE3 | LVPD HQ | 15 | | 3 | CSSPRT | Pro-Laps | 16 | | 3 | BARBER2 | Gay Gordo's Barbershop | 13 | | 3 | CARLS | | | | 3 | CHANGER | | | | 3 | DRIVES | | | | 3 | DRIVES2 | | | | 3 | PDOMES2 | | | | 3 | PDOMES | Jizzys Pleasure Domes | 54 | | 3 | PAPER | | | | 3 | BIKESCH | Bike School | 116 | | 3 | S1TEST | | | | 3 | UNKNOWN | Planning Department | 14 | | 3 | UNKNOWN | Budget Inn Motel Room | 83 | | | | | | | | | Heaven Nickname: Thief Heaven (4) | | | | | | | | 4 | X711S | 24/7 (V5) | 98 | | 4 | LAHS2A | Burglary House X12 | 95 | | 4 | GF4 | Michelle's Sex Place | 100 | | 4 | AMMUN2 | Ammu-Nation (Palamino) | 96 | | 4 | DINER1 | Diner 2 | 97 | | 4 | LAHSS6 | Burglary House X13 | 105 | | 4 | DIRBIKE | Dirtbike Stadium | 109 | | 4 | SFHSM2 | Burglary House X15 | 113 | | | | | | | | | Heaven Nickname: Gym Heaven (5) | | | | | | | | 5 | GYM1 | Ganton Gym | 1 | | 5 | LAHSB3 | Burglary House X11 | 94 | | 5 | GF5 | Barbara's Sex Place | 36 | | 5 | FDPIZA | Pizza Stack | 22 | | 5 | DINER2 | Diner | 21 | | 5 | CSDESGN | Victim | 25 | | 5 | GANG | | | | 5 | MADDOGS | Madd Dogg's Mansion | 55 | | 5 | MDDOGS | | | | 5 | CHANGER | | | | 5 | SVHOT1 | | | | 5 | LACRAK | Crack Den | 93 | | 5 | VGHSM2 | Burglary House X16 | 114 | | 5 | SFHSB1 | Burglary House X17 | 115 | | | | | | | | | Heaven Nickname: RC Heaven (6) | | | | | | | | 6 | LAHSB1 | | | | 6 | X7_11S | | | | 6 | GYM2 | Marital Arts Gym | 110 | | 6 | POLICE1 | Los Santos Police Department | 111 | | 6 | GF6 | Millies Bedroom | 107 | | 6 | REST2 | | | | 6 | AMMUN3 | | | | 6 | AMMUN5 | | | | 6 | RCPLAY | | | | 6 | CHANGER | | | | 6 | CHANGER | | | | 6 | SVSFBG | | | | 6 | CHANGER | | | | 6 | SVCUNT | | | | 6 | SVSFSM | | | | 6 | BROTHEL | | | | 6 | SFHSB2 | | | | 6 | SFHSS2 | | | | | | | | | | | Heaven Nickname: Ammunation Heaven (7) | | | | | | | | 7 | LAHSB2 | Burglary House X4 | 79 | | 7 | GYM3 | Below the Belt Gym | 29 | | 7 | AMMUN4 | Ammu-Nation (2 floor) | 24 | | 7 | 8TRACK | 8-Track Stadium | 39 | | 7 | OFTEST | | | | | | | | | | | Heaven Nickname: Burning Heaven (8) | | | | | | | | 8 | BURHOUS | Burning Desire House | 57 | | 8 | SVLAMD | | | | 8 | CHANGER | | | | 8 | SFHSS | | | | | | | | | | | Heaven Nickname: Cluckin Heaven (9) | | | | | | | | 9 | LAHS2B | | | | 9 | FDCHICK | Cluckin Bell | | | 9 | CHANGER | | | | 9 | CHANGER | | | | 9 | SVVGMD | | | | 9 | SFHSB3 | | | | | | | | | | | Heaven Nickname: Burgershot Heaven (10) | | | | | | | | 10 | FDBURG | Burgershot | 47 | | 10 | X711S3 | 24/7 (V2) | 28 | | 10 | POLICE2 | SFPD HQ | 27 | | 10 | TRICAS | The Four Dragons | 41 | | 10 | CHANGER | | | | 10 | CHANGER | | | | 10 | SVGNMT2 | Abandoned AC Tower? These numbers correspond with the usually updated list of all finds, run by carpetdweller here: geocities.com/carpetdweller2000/interiorwishlist01.html This FAQ doesn't use numbers, but the names should match up. --- [Tips] --- Some Tips: a) Use R1 and X when flying regularly. Hold it down for half the time, then the other half just fly with X. This way, sometimes you'll be going up, sometimes down, and you'll stay at roughly the same height level. b) If you see a "LOADING" screen for even a split second... your done. Reload, and try again, because you've now fallen below and it's impossible to get back up to the universe. c) If you're trying to get further than normal, hold L2/R2 and X to strafe in any direction. It's harder to steer, but you can fly over areas that you normally can't with the jetpack. It doesn't work forever though, eventually you drop if you go outside the normal limits. d) Try entering the parachute cheat while flying (Left, Right, L1, L2, R1, R2, R2, Up, Down, Right, L1). You'll have the altimeter at the side of the screen. When the bar dips below max height, make sure you rise up so it goes back up to max and you then know you're safe. e) To save LOTS of time, use the speed up gameplay cheat for long flights around wherever your'e going. It's Triangle, Up, Right, Down, L2, L1, Square. If you want to slow it down again when exploring an interior, enter Triangle, Up, Right, Down, Square, R2, R1. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Locations [LS01] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- To start off to find any of these, fly up through the Ganton Gym as detailed in the Basic Instructions. Then, follow further instructions... -----------[Heavens Explained]---------- Each heaven has it's own interiors that can only be seen in that heaven. If you visit the exact spot of an interior when not in it's heaven, you won't be able to see it. However, it is there, and you can hit its walls which are invisible. To get into a heaven, you need to enter an interior (usually by a marker) to load all interiors in that heaven. Each interior listed here will have it's method of entering explained in further detail. -----------[6.A Known Locations]---------- This is how each location is listed. +-----------------------------+--------------------------------------------+ | Heading | Description | |-----------------------------+--------------------------------------------| | Cheating Device Required | If you need a Gameshark or ARMax with the | | | unlimited jetpack height code enabled. | |-----------------------------+--------------------------------------------| | Directions | Where to go. | |-----------------------------+--------------------------------------------| | Strafing Technique Required | Only listed when needed. If you drop too low and see "Loading" briefly, you won't find any of them! Also, if an interior just says (Not Documented), that means that it's been found by someone, but it hasn't been written up yet here in this FAQ. ================================================ -----------[Heaven 1 (Liberty Heaven)]---------- ================================================ +------------------------------------------------+ |Note: TO GET IN ANY INTERIORS IN THIS HEAVEN, | | YOU MUST FIRST ENTER WAREHOUSE 2's | | MARKER. It's located as number 8 on the map here: http://thegtadomain.com/sanan/himap.php Instead of trying to decipher my directions, it'll probably be easier if you use the map for this heaven. The map is listed with numbers, which can be found in that first big table of this section.
