I started this faq more than a year ago...I didn't realize how long it's been until I saw the trailer for the Goblet of Fire game. I finished this faq months ago, but I was kind of lazy sending it out to the US Copyright office. I didn't mail it out until October 31st, 2005. So, if anyone out there is still playing this game, I hope this faq will be of some use. :) So many things have happened since my last faq. My sister, my proof reader, has been deployed to Iraq, so I don't know if I will be able to write the next faq...or at least write one that's comprehensible!! She got a huge migraine just reading this one. She had a few laughs, though. Well, best wishes to all! If you would like to send me a message, you can either email me, or LEAVE ME A COMMENT ON XANGA!! :) www.xanga.com. My User ID is sueunyin. * * *End 11/2/2005* * * This is the third Harry Potter FAQ I have written. My other works include "Wizard Card FAQ for Chamber of Secrets (for PS2)" and a "Complete Walkthrough For Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (for PS2)". Originally, this faq was for PS2 only, because at the time I only had a PS2. Last year my sister's Army Reserve unit was mobilized and was getting deployed to Iraq. As her farewell present she bought me an Xbox, a more pricy gift she would usually get me because...hey, you never know what's going to happen you've been deployed. Anyway, luckily for her she DIDN'T get deployed afterall. And as for me??? Haha, her farewell present was for nothing~~ She still threatens to take away my Xbox and give it back to me when she's really getting deployed. Xbox is cool, but I only have like...one or two games on Xbox. I thought it would interesting to compare the two Harry Potter games--one on PS2 and one Xbox, since the previous games had some variations. So now I have one Prisoner of Azkaban on PS2 and one on Xbox, and you know what the difference is between them? NOTHING!! Just the buttons are different. So it wouldn't make any sense if this faq was written just for PS2 if the game was identical for all systems (PS2, GC, Xbox). Well...I didn't play the GC version yet but I'm pretty sure it's the same. Okay, let's talk more about the game~ Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite among the other HP games. I really like the character swap feature. Now Harry's not so alone on his missions and/or challenges. However, having more companions can be a bit of a drag. If you are idle too long they start complaining. EA games divided Harry's abilities (from previous games) among the two other characters, Ron and Hermione. Before, Harry had the combined abilities of his teammates, such as searching, crawling, and using Dungbombs/Stink Pellets. Also in this game, only certain characters can equip certain spells. *-===-*-===-*-===-*-===-*-===-*-===-*-===-*-===-*-===-*-===-*-===-*-===-*-===-* II. Aboard the Hogwarts Express [#EXPRS] =============================================================================== **Tasks to be completed** CHECKLIST _____1. Help Ron search for Scabbers. _____2. Duel against Slytherins. _____3. Escape from the Dementors. Harry, Ron and Hermione are on their way to school on the Hogwarts Express. Ron brings up how Sirius Black killed thirteen people with one curse twelve years ago. Harry doesn't seem at all interested with the topic. Suddenly, Crookshanks lunges at Scabbers, Ron's pet rat, and chases it out the compartment and down corridor. Ron argues with Hermione but she tells him to pipe down and not disturb their new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Lupin, who is sleeping peacefully near the window. Ron gets up to look for Scabbers and Harry offers to help in the search. ~*~ =============== =========== Task #1 =========== =============== **HELP RON SEARCH FOR SCABBERS** Playing as: H A R R Y =========== You gain control of Harry when he leaves the train compartment. The adjacent compartments are vacant and empty so there's no need to explore them. Follow Ron down the corridor and into the next room. Ron rummages through the room for Scabbers and accidentally sets off a Monster Book of Monsters. From a distance, target lock the book using the R1 button and cast Flipendo (Square button) at it until it flops to the ground. (Ron does a body slam on it to make sure it's down for the count.) A trunk blocks the door to the next room and it is too heavy for one person to move. You will have to help Ron lift the trunk and move it out of the way. So, grab the other end of the trunk and push the "X" button (action button)to lift it up, then use the left analog joystick to move it away from the door. Push the "X" button again to drop the trunk. Destroy the crate next to the door to get a Chocolate Frog, then exit to the next room. Apparently, Scabbers has found his way into the clutches of Draco Malfoy and his goons, and they will not hand over Scabbers peacefully...of course. =============== =========== Task #2 =========== =============== **DUEL AGAINST SLYTHERINS** Like with the monster book, target lock one of the Slytherins and blast away with Flipendo. You might need to adjust where you're standing to get a better shot since the tables and chairs can get in the way. If someone casts a spell, jinx or hex at you, just avoid it by moving from side to side, or hold down the "X" to duck or dodge out of the way. (To dodge away, you have to hold down the "X" button then push in the direction in which you want to dodge to.) If an orange spell hits Harry, his head will turn into a pumpkin and he will be disabled, but only for a few seconds. Once Crabbe and Goyle are knocked out, just walk up to Malfoy and hit the Square button repeatedly to finish him off. *Note that Malfoy is using the Expelliarmus spell to block some of the spells.* Malfoy and his goons exit the room and disgust. Just as Harry and Ron are about to return to their compartment the train suddenly stops. Time to investigate what's going on. After taking a few steps forward, Harry will begin to lose consciousness. Muffled screams can be heard. The room suddenly seems to be caught in a blizzard, and a dark, hooded figure comes aboard the train. Hermione comes running in and tells Ron to help get Harry out while she finds help. =============== =========== Task #3 =========== =============== **ESCAPE FROM THE DEMENTORS** Playing as: R O N ======= You will have to play as Ron and help Harry to safety...in other words, away from the ominous, black hooded figure. The train corridors are filled with clutter and debris. Try not to get caught in a corner or the hooded figure will try to suck you in. --------------------------- | @@ | | @@@@ | | @@@@@@ | | @ @@ @ | | @@@@ | | | | | | START | | |-------| | | | | | | | | | | |-------| |-------| | | | | | | | | | | |-------| | | | | | | | ----------| |----------- | | ----------| |----------- | | |---| |----| | | / | | | ______/ | | | | | | | |-------| | | | | | | | (ATTACK!) | | | |-------------| |---| | | | |-------------|___| | | | | |---------| |---| | | | | |---------| | | | | | FINISH | | | | ----------| |----------- ------ There are no obstacles blocking your way in the first section, so just push down all the way on the left analog joystick. Shortly after entering the second area, the hooded figure will attack. (It will try to suck Harry and Ron in.) To resist getting pulled in, just rotate the left analog joystick until you break free, then continue towards the exit. Help has finally arrived! Lupin comes in screaming that Sirius Black is not on the train. A light flashes and everything returns back to normal. Harry is conscious again. Lupin offers a Chocolate Frog to Harry and explains what the hooded figures were--Dementors. He then gives him a book (Folio Bruti) that is stored into your inventory. ~*~ =============================================================================== b. Marauder's Map [#MAMAP] =============================================================================== **Tasks to be completed** CHECKLIST ______1. Show the Folio Bruti to Ron ______2. Practice Expelliarmus with Ron on the seventh floor. ______3. Go to see Fred and George on the sixth floor. ______4. Find the Marauder's Map. ~*~ Harry is still worried that Sirius Black is on the loose and probably after him. Ron comes in the room and asks Harry to show him the book that Professor Lupin gave him. =============== =========== Task #1 =========== =============== **SHOW THE FOLIO BRUTI TO RON** Play as: H A R R Y =========== To view the Folio Bruti, push the SELECT button and to access the Game Menu. The book is located at the bottom right corner of the Menu. Select the Folio Bruti and push "X" to view the book. As of right now you have only one Folio Bruti information--Dementor. Ron wants to show off their new book to Hermione, but before you head down stairs, open the maroon colored [TB] marked "H.P." to receive a QUIDDITCH CARD (#1, Cyprian Youdle). **NOTE** This [TB] can only be opened by Harry. When you're finished go down to the common room. Hermione is too busy for her two friends at the moment; however, she gives them some friendly advice before she resumes ignoring them. She points out that things would have been much easier if they used the Expelliarmus spell during their little duel against Draco and his goons. Harry walks up to the Expelliarmus spell book and reviews the book. This spell can now be equipped from the menu. There's a notice board in the common room. Students will post notices for lost items here. When you find a lost item, return it to the notice board to receive a reward. =============== =========== Task #2 =========== =============== **PRACTICE EXPELLIARMUS WITH RON ON THE SEVENTH FLOOR** It's time to put you're newly acquired spell to practice. Exit the Gryffindor Tower to the seventh floor to begin the practice session. Ron will be practicing the Expelliarmus spell first, so cast a Flipendo spell at him. Ron successfully casts an Expelliarmus spell and Harry is knocked down by his own spell. Okay, now it's Harry's turn to practice blocking. Make sure you have the Expelliarmus spell equipped. Ron will cast a Flipendo spell at Harry. When the spell is just about to hit Harry, cast the Expelliarmus spell to send the Flipendo back at Ron. After the brief practice session, Ron suggests that they go visit Fred and George. =============== =========== Task #3 =========== =============== **GO TO SEE FRED AND GEORGE ON THE SIXTH FLOOR** Go through the door marked "Seventh Floor Corridor". Keep on going until you reach a portrait of a knight. Say hello to Sir Cadogan. Exit the seventh floor to the Grand Staircase. The floors are as follows: * First floor: "Transfiguration" * Second floor: "Charms" * Third floor: "Defense Against the Dark Arts" * Fourth floor: "History of Magic" * Fifth floor: "Muggle Studies" * Sixth floor: "Ancient Runes" * Seventh floor: "Arithmancy and Gryffindor Tower" (Right now everything below the sixth floor is closed off, so you'll just have to save your exploring for later ^^) Go through the door marked "Sixth Floor (Ancient Runes)". You are greeted by Peeves the Poltergeist. He throws a Monster Book of Monsters at Ron that knocks him unconscious. Harry will have to take out this monster book by himself. This monster book must have swallowed a ton of wizard crackers. It's best if you keep your distance from this psycho book. Sparks will fly from its mouth followed by what looks like a Flipendo spell. Cast Expelliarmus when you see this spell coming at Harry. After a few successful blocked shots the monster book will be defeated. Search the room for a [TB] with a QUIDDITCH CARD (#2, Joscelind Wadcock). Break the crate blocking the door to get a Chocolate Frog. (You'll have to knock it out before eating it.) Go through the door marked "Glanmore Peakes' Corridor". There's a puddle of water to your immediate right, but you can't do anything with it yet so just ignore it for now. The treasure box across the puddle is also locked don't bother with it. Take a few steps further down the room and some books will fly off the bookshelves towards Harry and Ron. Target lock the books and cast Flipendo to destroy them. At the end of the room is a door leading to the East Wing and a door marked "Disused Bathroom (Fred and George)". If you walk around the wall next to the bookshelf, the "X" button will change to "Try". There's nothing you can do right now, so ignore it for now. Go inside the bathroom. Fred and George reveals to Harry and Ron that there is a secret passage in the bathroom that leads to the Marauder's Map. Now it's just up to them to find it. (Don't forget to search the bookshelves and robes for goodies.) __________________ _________________ \ \ / / \ CHARACTER \/ SWAP / \________________/\_______________/ Push the "O" button to switch from Harry to: RON ===== Ron points out that there's something odd about the wall behind his two brothers. Go up to the wall and push "X" (action button). A secret passage is revealed. =============== =========== Task #4 =========== =============== **FIND THE MARAUDER'S MAP** It's time to seek out the Marauder's Map. Go down the secret passage and there will be a cut scene. Harry and Ron sees the map at the top of an obelisk. Look around this area. There is a gate with two handle bars, but it is still too heavy for both of them to lift. There's two doors, but |
