Light/Dark Jak Powers 10. Secrets 11. Copyright Stuff 1. Story This comes from the instruction manual. I’m just copying it. “One year has passed since Jak and Daxter saved Haven City from Kor and the Metal Head menace, yet the city still finds itself embroiled in chaos as three separate groups fight for control of its streets. The people of Haven City have grown distrustful of Jak and his mysterious dark powers. As rumors spread of his ties with Krew and Kor, the populace targets Jak as the cause for its current unrest. When the palace is destroyed by a surprise Metal Head attack, even Ashelin and Samos cannot protect Jak. The High Council’s power broker, Count Veger, banishes Jak for life to the Wasteland outside the city’s protective walls. Flown to the harsh, desolate desert and dropped off to fend for himself, he discovers that Daxter and Pecker have loyally followed him into exile. With Daxter and Pecker at his side, the three begin their next adventure as they wander the vast Wasteland and unwittingly set off a series of events that will propel them headfirst toward their ultimate destiny.” 2. Items Ammunition-This is for your morph-gun. Break crates and kill enemies for them. Red is for the Scatter Gun, yellow is for the Blaster, blue is for the Vulcan Fury, and Purple is for the Peace Maker. Crates-Crates are found in many places. Break them for ammo, Dark Eco, health, or Precursor Orbs. Dark Eco-You need this to use Dark Jak (though, unlike the last game, you don’t need a full Dark Eco meter to turn into Dark Jak). Break crates and kill enemies for it, or use Dark Eco vents. Health Packs-These replenish your health, obviously. Break crates and kill enemies for them. Light Eco-This is needed to use Light Jak. Enemies drop it, and you can also get it from Light Eco vents. Precursor Armor-In some missions, you’ll get armor, which gives you two extra health units each time. Precursor Orbs-These are found in hidden places, in crates, and earned by completing mini-games and extra missions. Use these to buy secrets in the Secrets part of the Options Ring. Skull Gems-You get these from breaking crates and killing Metal Heads. Trade them to oracles and the screens you find in Haven City for special missions. Turbos-Turbos make your vehicle go faster for a short time. Usually these are found after destroying Marauder vehicles. 4. Morph Gun A. Red Gun Scatter Gun Gotten: at the beginning of the mission “Earn 1st War Amulet” Description: This short range weapon shoots out a wave of energy that hurts and sends back any enemies within a small radius. Wave Concussor Gotten: not long before “Earn 2nd War Amulet” mission Description: This weapon is like the Scatter Gun, except you can hold down R1 to send out a wider radius of fire. Plasmite RPG Gotten: at the end of the “Beat Gun Course 2” mission Description: The Plasmite PG shoots out a homing rocket that can kill certain enemies in one hit. B. Yellow Gun Blaster Mod Gotten: at the end of the mission “Earn 1st War Amulet” Description: This is a good long range weapon. That’s all I can say about it. Beam Reflexor Gotten: at the end of the mission “Earn 2nd War Amulet” Description: This weapon shoots beams that bounce off walls and can hit enemies multiple times. Gyro Burster Gotten: at the end of the “Beat Gun course 1” mission Description: The Gyro Burster sends out a little thing that spins and shoots everything around it for a limited time. C. Blue Gun Vulcan Fury Gotten: before the “Defeat Marauders in Arena” mission Description: This is a machine gun with less range than the Blaster. Arc Wielder Gotten: at the end of the mission “Defeat Veger’s Precursor Robot” Description: This gun shoots out electricity that is very good at hurting many enemies at once. Needle Lazer Gotten: at the end of the mission “Destroy Eco Grid with Jinx” Description: This gun shoots out homing needles that are very effective at killing enemies (when you shoot enough). D. Purple Gun Peace Maker Gotten: at the end of the “Destroy Barrier with Blast Bot” mission Description: This gun shoots out a ball of energy that homes in on enemies. It can split to hit multiple enemies (and also Freedom League Guards and other random people). Mass Inverter Gotten: at the end of the mission “Beat Cyber-Errol Boss” Description: This gun causes anyone (enemies and people alike) nearby to start floating through the air for a short time. This is a good way to hurt completely defenseless enemies (you coward). Super Nova Gotten: at the end of the mission “Blow Open Tower Door” Description: This weapon shoots off a rocket, which after a few seconds, turns the screen white for a short time, killing all enemies nearby. It uses up a lot of ammo. 5. Vehicles Tough Puppy Gotten: after the mission “Unlock Satellite” Description: The Tough Puppy is a dorky, little, weaponless vehicle. It won’t protect you against Marauders or win you any races (except for the race mission shortly after getting the vehicle). Sand Shark Gotten: at the beginning of the mission “Destroy Metal Head Beasts” Description: The Sand Shark is a fairly fast vehicle that has two machine guns that shoot in the front. Dune Hopper Gotten: at the end of the “Corral Wild Leapers” mission Description: Hold R1 to make the Dune Hopper jump high, which I good for jumping over gaps in bridges. Also, it can shoot nifty, little bombs. Gila Stomper Gotten: at the beginning of the “Destroy Eggs in Nest” mission Description: The Gila Stomper is a big, slow moving vehicle, but it’s strong and has a turret that can shoot in any direction. Slam Dozer Gotten: in the mission “Break Through Ruins” Description: The Slam Dozer can slam into things by using its unlimited turbo. It also has a turret like the Gila Stomper Heat Seeker Gotten: pay 15 Orbs in the Secrets Menu Description: This vehicle is very fast and has a machine gun like the Sand Shark. Dust Demon Gotten: pay 15 Orbs in the Secrets Menu Description: This vehicle is very fast (almost as fast as the Heat Seeker) and shoots bombs like the Dune Hopper. Desert Screamer Gotten: pay 20 Orbs in the Secrets Menu Description: This is supposed to be the fastest vehicle in the game. Neato! It has a machine gun like the Sand Shark. 6. Enemies Like I said in the Copyright section, I found the names of enemies in the official guide by Piggyback Interactive. Bat There are Bats flying all over in the bigger parts of the Nest. They like to shoot at you and be annoying, so just shoot them back. Blast Bot Blast Bots are slow and nasty. They shoot lasers and bombs (which can be knocked back at them). Stay close when fighting them to avoid their lasers, but when it eventually decides to die, run away before it blows up. Dark Maker Hornet Dark Maker Hornets are like stronger, meaner versions of Metal Jackets. They shoot stuff at you, so watch out. Dark Splitters As the name implies, when you hurt a Dark Splitter, it splits into smaller pieces. Just keep shooting at them, and they’ll eventually die. Dark Maker Trooper Ugly beasties, aren’t they? And not too friendly either. They can shoot some nasty stuff at you and use shields, but enough hits to the shield (or just one punch, don’t worry, Jak won’t get hurt) will break it so you can give these guys a well-deserved beating. Frog Frogs are frogs. What else can I say? They are found in large groups in the Eco Mine and the Sewer, so the Scatter Gun (red gun) works well. Gekko Gekkos are only in the Eco Mine, where they crawl around the walls and shoot stuff at you. So shoot them down and beat them up before they can hurt you too much. Grunt Grunts are one of those enemies every game has. The dumb kind that can be found in a lot of areas in big groups. But, don’t worry, a couple of shots from your morph gun, and those dumb buggers will die. Juice Goon I hate these. Not only because they have a dumb name, but also because they can shot you with annoying electric stuff, so stay away from them. KG Blade Beater These are only in one part of the Sewer, and good thing, too. You can’t hurt these, so when you’re around them, make sure you dive under the water they float above before they can chop poor Jak to little, elfy pieces. KG Death Bot Despite the name, as long as you’re careful, KG Death Bots shouldn’t cause you too many deaths. They can roll around, then unroll and shoot lasers at you, but just keep attacking them and they’ll die. KG Fighter These are found flying around outside the War Factory. They won’t cause you too much trouble. KG Hopper Bots Hopper Bots hop. Need I say more? In one mission in the Sewer, you’ll find these things jumping around. One shot kills them; no one will miss them anyway. KG Hover Guard These annoying robots are quite common in the Sewer and sometimes come in fairly large groups. It’s best to use stronger guns to kill them before they can kill you. Sometimes you find them coming out of red domes. Don’t bother with them, then, because they’ll never go away. KG Robo Goons These are the Grunts of the KG forces. There are a lot in the Sewers, but they’re not too strong. KG Sentinels These dumb things fly around Haven City. Just one hit is needed to kill them. KG Spy Bots Don’t worry about these weak, tiny things. One hit kills them….Except they do get pretty annoying in Haven City, since they’re in such large numbers. Manta Poor Mantas. They only get to be in the little Eco Mine area. They can fly, so you’ll need to use your gun to hurt them. Marauder You have to fight Marauders in the Spargus Arena and their stronghold. They also dive around the Wasteland doing whatever they can to bother you. I hate them more than any enemy in the game, since they can really mess with any mission that has a time limit. At least they leave behind turbos when you blow them up. Metal Head Beast In a few missions, you’ll have to kill these using a gun on a vehicle. Don’t let them get too close or they’ll fling you’re vehicle quite a distance. And if that’s not enough, they can shoot bombs. Metal Jacket Metal Jackets are flying enemies that shoot stuff at you, so kill them using your morph gun. Metal-Pede Metal-Pedes are only found in one mission in the Nest. They can burrow underground, so shoot them when they come out. Their lasers and driving into them can flip your vehicle over. Metal Mantis Metal Mantises like to jump around pretty quickly, so they’re kind of hard to shoot. Make sure you’re careful, or they’ll attack before you have a chance to do anything. Needle Fish Needle Fish are annoying little fish that hide in shallow water in a few places in the Sewer. And as the “needle” part of their name implies, they’re not something you want to touch, or even get near for that matter. Pod Spider Pod Spiders are weak, little enemies that you can find in very big groups in the Nest and once in Haven Forest. If you’re driving a vehicle, shoot them before they can get on the vehicle and do a lot of damage. In Haven Forest, you can hurt them with a Jet-Board powered up wit green eco. Rat Rats are found in the Eco Mine. Their only purpose in life is to be punched and smacked until they land in a wheel, where they can provide power for stuff. Saw Fish You find Saw Fish in the Sewer. Stay out of the water when they’re around…though they can come up on land. But, it’s easy to kill them on land, in water, it’s not. Sling Blaster Sling Blasters are found in the Sewer a few times. They throw stuff and can hit you from quite a distance. Spider Spiders are pretty weak. They’re only in the Monk Temple. When they come in large groups, use the Scatter Gun (red gun) on them. Spiny Toad Hound Spiny Toad Hounds are only in the Volcano. They roll around quickly and are really nasty, but they’re pretty weak. Spyder Gunner Spyder Gunners are only found in the ruins around the end of the game. Shoot at them from a distance because they can shoot at you and kill you quickly and easily. Stinger Stingers are weak, little enemies, but they’re fast and frickin’ annoying, so it’s best to hit them from far away before hey can get to you. Wasp Wasps are really annoying. They always fly up from dark, bottomless chasms in pairs and shoot at you. Shoot them quickly before they get a chance to annihilate you. 7. Walkthrough Complete Arena Training Just follow Pecker’s instructions to get all 35 tokens. After, go into the light for a cut scene. Earn 1st War Amulet You get the Scatter Gun. Kill 20 Marauders. Get on the raised platforms when the alarms go off, since lava will rise. After a bit, you’ll turn into Dark Jak. When you’re done, ride the platform up to the light. After a cut scene, you’ll get the Blaster Mod. Catch Kanga-Rats On a Leaper lizard, run up to and attack six Kanga-Rats to catch them. They’re the red dots on the map. Unlock Satellite Press the right buttons when they teach the circles. You’ll get more points if more shapes are touching the circle at the same time you press its button. You can only miss or make a mistake five times, or you’ll lose. You need 75 points. Learn to Drive a Vehicle After getting the Tough Puppy from Kleiver, drive into the Wasteland. Just follow the green dots on the map. Beat Kleiver in Desert Race Go to the green icon to race. The red things are turbos, which may help you get up the hill at the end. For a lot of turbos, you need to turbo and jump to get them. There are 3 laps. Win and you’ll be able to keep the Tough Puppy. Race for Artifacts Out in the Wasteland, quickly get all 12 artifacts (green dots on the map) before time runs out, then, return to Spargus. You receive new armor (two extra health units). Beat Monks in Leaper Race Race the monks on a Leaper. Make sure you go through every ring (green dots on the map) or you’ll lose. When you win, there will be a cut scene. Destroy Metal Head Beasts Get in the Sand Shark, then, drive out into the Wasteland. There are four Metal Head Beasts (green dots on the map) to kill by shooting the heck out of them. They can shoot out bombs and ram into you, which can throw you pretty far. There will be a cut scene when you’re done. Earn 2nd War Amulet Before you come here, you’ll get the Wave Concussor. Anyway, you’ll have to turn into Dark Jak then do the Dark Bomb (X+Square), then, you can kill off the 30 Marauders here. When the alarm goes off, get to another part of the arena before the lava comes up. After killing the Marauders, ride the platform up to get to the light in front of Damas. You’ll get the Beam Reflexor. Corral Wild Leapers Get in the Sand Shark, then, drive to the grey icon in the Wasteland. You have to corral 3 Leapers by driving close behind them. Then, Daxter will jump on one and you’ll have to steer it (it’s running fast) into the corral. Don’t hit cacti or walls or the Leaper will die. (On the map, the grey dot is the corral and red dots are the Leapers.) After, there will be a cut scene, and you’ll get the Dune Hopper. Rescue Wastelanders O the Sand Shark, drive into the Wasteland. You have to rescue four Wastelanders and bring them to certain places (both of which are green dots on the map). You have 1:39 for the first person, 1:30 for the second and third, and about 5 min. to get to the fourth. Hurry up, though, since the next mission will have to be done in the remaining time. Defeat Dark Satellite You have the left over time from the previous mission to beat this. Stay under the satellite as it twirls lasers beneath itself. Then, run away before it slams the ground. Jump over the shockwave it creates, then, jump over the tentacle it spins around while shooting at it. It changes direction when it’s spinning. Repeat this two more times (two shockwaves and tentacles the second time, three the third). After it dies and blows up, drive back to Spargus in the remaining time. Reach Monk Temple Get in the Dune Hopper, then, drive towards the red icon in the Wasteland. Later, you’ll need to drive fast and jump high to get over the gaps in the path. At the temple, go inside, and there will be a cut scene. Climb Monk Temple Tower Climb up the things nearby, then, jump to the canopy. Bounce on it and spin attack to get to a higher ledge. Jump to a pole, then to another one. Jump up and right to a ledge. Go along the ledges, then, jump to the pole to the left. Jump to another ole to the left then up to some ledges. Cross the ledges (some break and fall), then, go up some stairs, then, cross more ledges. At the end, climb up some more poles and ledges, then, cross more ledges at the top (some of which break and fall). Continue climbing up poles and ledges until you get to the hang glider. Glide to Volcano Use the hang glider to glide to the volcano. If the bar at the bottom of the screen goes to red, you’ll go to slow and fall. Fly through accelerator rings to speed up and shoot closed ones to activate them. Some rings move. Anyway, go on the air currents (white things) to go higher. At the end is a cut scene. Find Satellite in Volcano Go forward and fight off a lot of Stingers, then, climb up some ledges. The Leaper nearby will start running away. Follow it. Along the path are Metal Jackets, Metal Mantises, and Spiny Toad Hounds (and parts of the path break). At the end of the path, get on the Leaper, then, fly across the lava to a ledge (Watch out for lava shooting up.). Jump onto the platform moving up and down. When it goes up, fly to another area. Cross more similar platforms, then, fly to land. Go along the path, then cross more moving platforms. Fly to land (the edge of it breaks). Past some Spiny Toa Hounds, get off the Leaper and climb up the ladder nearby. Go along the path, then, after a short cut scene, you’ll get to be Daxter. Cross the climbable ceiling (stay near the edge to avoid the lava shooting up), then, drop off at the end. Go forward and cross some gaps when lava’s not flowing through it. Then, cross some wobbly platforms (and fight off some Metal Mantises). Now cross another climbable ceiling (while avoiding the lava). At the end, drop off. Go forward and there will be a cut scene. Cross the pillar that fell to Jak. As Jak, cross back over the pillar. High jump to a higher ledge, then, kill some Metal Mantises. Go along the path while dealing with Spiny Toad Hounds, Metal Jackets, and Metal Mantises. Punch the lat rock to get it onto the steam. Ride it up to a higher ledge. Go along the path (with Metal Mantises, Spiny Toad Hounds, and Metal Jackets along it). After here is a cut scene, then, you’ll be Daxter again. Slide down the pipe, while jumping over any gap. At the end, go along the pipe, then, climb up some rocks. Bounce on the trampolines to a higher place. Up here are Spiny Toad Hounds. Continue climbing up rocks and bouncing on trampolines until you get to the top. Go forward, and there will be a cut scene. As Jak, Punch the flat rock onto the steam, then, ride it up to a higher ledge. Kill some Spiny Toad Hounds, Metal Jackets, and later, some Metal Mantises. Past all of these, punch both flat rocks onto steam, then, ride the middle one up to a higher ledge. Go up some ledges (that have Spiny Toad Hounds on them). Go along the path, then, jump onto a moving platform on the lava. Jump to the ladder and climb up. Go forward, and here will be a cut scene. You’ve learned the Shadow Invisibility, which you’ll be able to use soon. Jump down onto a platform in the lava, then, jump off at the edge. You’re back at the beginning. Go to the purple thing near the wall and use it (Triangle) to be invisible, so the eye guarding the teleporter ring won’t see you. Go through the teleporter ring to get to the Monk Temple. Find Oracle in Monk Temple Go to the purple statue in the wall, and use it to become invisible. Go through the door guarded by the eye. There are Spiders and a Dark Eco vent in the hallway. Past the hallway is a room with strange things around the middle. If they see you, they’ll electrocute and kill you, so go along the edge of the room until you get to a purple statue. Use it to become invisible, then, go to the middle of the room and dive attack the switch to open a door. Now you’re visible. If the things see you, they’ll kill you. So turn into Dark Jak and use Dark Bomb to kill them instead. Go through the door that opened. There are many Spiders here. The Wave Concussor (second red gun) works well. Go along the path. In this room, you’ll have to repeatedly use the statues to become invisible, then, quickly cross the moving poles. If you’re too slow and become visible, the eyes will electrify the poles, and you’ll fall and die. Past here is a Dark Eco vent and many Spiders in the hallway. Past the hallway, in a room, is a cut scene. Go into the light for another cut scene. You’ll get Light Jak Regeneration (Triangle while holding L2). Now go through the teleporter ring nearby to get to the Temple entrance. Leave and go back to the city. Beat Turret Challenge Go to the turret icon and get in the turret. You have to shoot the stuff that comes out of the water for 7000 points. Orange targets are less points, blue are more points, and green are the most points. When the crosshairs are red, you can shoot things. If you miss 10 times, you lose. At the bottom of the screen, the green dots are the targets. When you win, you’ll get a Light Eco Crystal. Defeat Marauders in Arena After getting the Vulcan Fury, ride the platform down to the arena. You have to kill 30 of those nasty Marauders. When the alarms go off, get on the platforms that rise up, then, get off after the lava goes down before the platform goes down. When you win, there will be a cut scene. Destroy Eggs in Nest Get in the Gila Stomper with Sig, then, drive to the brown icon in the Wasteland. Outside the Nest, good ol’ Sig will blast it open so you can drive inside. There are a lot of Pod Spiders here (shoot them before they can jump on your vehicle) and some Bats. The green dots on the map are the 10 eggs you have to destroy. Eggs can shoot at you, but just shoot them back until you destroy them. After destroying five, go to the blue dot on the map. Shoot the green stuff at the base of the pillar to knock it over. Cross it, then, destroy the other five eggs. (One egg, you need to cross a bridge to get to it, but the bridge falls quickly. Luckily, there are two bridges, so you get two chances. Just cross the bridge quickly.) After destroying them, a 2:59 timer will start, so drive to the brown icon as fast as possible. (Before destroying the eggs, another blue dot indicated a pillar to knock over. Don’t do it. This way is longer. Just go back the way you came.) Find Ashelin in Oasis Drive to the tree icon in the Wasteland. There will be a cut scene. Defend Ashelin at Oasis You and Ashelin will have to fight off 57 Marauders. Don’t let her die. You can shoot the vehicles to destroy them. After you kill them all, you’ll get the Jet-Board. Complete Monk Temple Tests Get in the Dune Hopper, then, drive to the red icon like you did before. Inside the Monk Temple, go forward through the door. Metal Jackets and a Dark Eco vent are in this hallway. Past the hallway is a room. Go to the door with the circles on it. There will be a cut scene, then, go through the door. There are also Metal Jackets in this hallway. Go through to a room. You have to get 18 purple and blue things. #1 is at the entrance. Get on your Jet-Board, then, go left to #2. On the water are four more. Simply go to #3, jump to #4, jump and flip to #5, then, launch jump to #6. Go up the ramp on the right side of the room and jump to #7. Go along the path while jumping over the gaps for #8. Jump at the end for #9. Go up the ramp straight ahead, and jump to #10. #11 and #12 are along here. Grind along the rail for #13. #14 and #15 are along the next path. Grind across another rail and jump to #16. #17 and #18 are along the path. The door will open, so go to it and launch jump to get up to it. Go through and along the hallway (which has a Light Eco vent in it). Past the hallway, go into the light, and there will be a cut scene. You’ll learn Light Jak Flash Freeze ((hold L2 then press Square). Do Flash Freeze so the platforms flip slowly. Cross them, then, go through the doorway and the hallway. (There are some rails you’ll have to rind along on your Jet-Board.) When you get to a room with a Light Eco vent in it, you’ll have to use Flash Freeze o the propellers will spin slowly enough to get past. Repeat this until you get to another Light Eco vent. Flash freeze, then, cross the bridge that will fall slowly (which, normally, would fall too quickly to cross). Go forward, through the door, and ride down the elevator. Travel Through Catacomb Subrails You have to ride this weird vehicle though the Catacombs. You can shoot with R1. Watch out for pillars, lasers, gaps in the tunnel, and little gun thingies (and in case you haven’t noticed, you can go up the walls). At the end, there will be a cut scene, then, you’ll get Light Jak Shield (hold Circle). Explore Eco Mines Ride up the elevator, then, go along the path to a Light Eco vent. Climb up some ledges nearby. After a cut scene, shoot the bridge to the right to lower it. Cross it. Fight off some Mantas and Gekkos, then, go right and shoot and lower another bridge to lower it. Cross it, shoot another bridge, then, cross this one. Kill some Mantas, then, go left and ride the elevator down. Shoot the bridge to lower it, then, jump to it before the elevator flips down. Go forward to some Mantas and Grunts. Go along the path (which has Mantas, Gekkos, and Grunts along it.) Ride the elevator up, then, jump off before it flips down. Kill some Grunts, then, go along the path while dealing with more Grunts, Mantas, and Gekkos. Ride the elevator down, hen shoot and jump to the lowered bridge before the elevator flips down. Go forward and fight off some Grunts. Ride another elevator down (I don’t think this one or the ones later on flip down.), then, go along the path to a Light Eco vent and ride another elevator down. Frogs, Mantas, and Rats are here. Punch a Rat until it lands in the wheel. Some platforms will appear, so cross them. Go along the path while fighting off Frogs. Knock another Rat into a wheel, then, cross some platforms that went up. Kill some Frogs and Mantas, then, go along the path. Punch another Rat into a wheel so some platforms start moving. Cross them. There are some more Frogs here. Also, there’s another poor Rat to smack into a wheel (And Jak says he’s good with animals.). Ride a ledge on the now turning wheel (not the wheel the Rat’s in), kill some Frogs, then, ride the ledge on another wheel. Kill some Frogs and Mantas, then, have a Rat follow you up the path. Knock it into the wheel. Cross the platforms that appeared. Go forward for Leg Armor (two extra health units). Go right and go to the light. Hit the lever for a cut scene, then, ride the big elevator up. Escort Bomb Train You have a limited time to shoot the track targets (red things on the tracks), so the bomb train can go along the track. Go forward and shoot two track targets. Go along the path. Kill some Mantas, then, shoot two more targets. Grind across some rails, then, go along the path past some Gekkos and Mantas. Shoot two more track targets. Cross the platform moving in and out of the wall, then, go along the path past some more Gekkos and Mantas, then, shoot two more track targets. Cross some more platforms moving in and out of the wall, then, shoot some more track targets. Continue along the path and grind along a rail. Cross some more moving platforms, then, shoot two more track targets. Shoot the bridge to lower it, then, cross it to some Mantas and Gekkos, then, shoot two more track targets. After a cut scene, shoot and lower a bridge. Cross it to some Mantas. Shoot, lower, and cross another bridge, then, go right and ride the elevator down. Go through the door that opened, and there will be a cut scene. Defeat Veger’s Precursor Robot First, the robot will hit the ground with a long, thin thing (I’ll call it an energy blade.) two times, which creates shockwaves you have to jump over. Then, it will move the blade across the room two times, so jump over it. Next, you’ll have to fight two Dark Splitters, which break into smaller enemies when attacked. Then, five pillars will rise up. When they cool, climb up to the top of one of the taller ones while dodging stuff the robot shoots at you. Shoot one of the bomb carts until it falls on the robot. Next, the robot will hit the ground three times, move the blade across the room three times, then, you’ll have to fight three Dark Splitters. When the pillars rise up, climb up one and shoot down the next bomb cart. Now the robot has two blades. It’ll hit the ground four times, so double jump over the shockwaves. Then, double jump over the blades as they move back and forth three times. Next, kill three Dark Splitters. Then, get on a pillar after they rise to shoot down the last cart to destroy the robot. After a cut scene, you’ll get the Arc Wielder. Meet Your Old Friends Ride the elevator up to get into Haven City. There are a lot of Stingers around here. Go to the Samos icon for a cut scene. Reach Port via Sewer Go to the grey icon on the map, through the door, and down the elevator. Kill the Wasps, then, go along the path. Go in the half pipe on your Jet-Board and go up into the tunnel on the left. Go along the path and through a door. Kill some Frogs, then, go along the path. On your Jet-Board, go along the tunnel (Don’t fall in the holes.), and go through the tunnel to the left into another tunnel. Go along here then through the tunnel to the left into a room. Kill all the Frogs and Saw Fish to open the gate. On your Jet-Board, go up the ramp up to where some Needle Fish are. Go right and grind along a rail. Past here are fans that blow you backward. Get of your Jet-Board and shoot them until they blow up. Continue along the path on your Jet-Board (Watch out for whirlpools and Needle Fish.). Kill all the Frogs and Saw Fish to lower a rail to grind up. Go along the path. Destroy the fans like before, then, go up a ramp. Along this path are Juice Goons. Ride your Jet-Board up a ramp to some Frogs. Past here, along the path are Sling Blasters and Juice Goons. Past them, got through some doors and go forward. Kill the Wasps, then, go left through a door and up an elevator back into the city. Destroy Incoming Blast Bots You have to destroy 3 Blast bots (green dots on the map). Stay close to them so their lasers won’t hit you. They can also shoot bombs, which you can hit and knock into them. Attack the Blast bots until they start beeping, then, run away before they blow up. Destroy Barrier with Missile Go to the green dot on the map, and there will be a short cut scene. Now you’re Daxter riding a missile. All you can do is steer it and jump. Don’t hit anything or you’ll blow up. Go through every red thing (green dots on map). Beat Gun Course 1 Go to the green icon on the map. After talking to Tess, you can do the Gun Course. You’ll be using the yellow guns (but starting off with the Beam Reflexor). Shoot enemy targets for points. Don’t shoot people targets or you’ll lose points. Shoot gold targets for extra points. Small targets that beep blow up, and some targets can shoot at you. Get 10000 points for the Gyro Burster. Destroy Sniper Cannons The red dots on the map are nipper cannons. When near these tings, they’ll shoot at you when the target turns blue. Quickly dive attack all the switches nearby for something to come out of the ground. (If you’re too slow, the switches will turn red again, and you’ll have to start over.) Attack that thing to break it, and the sniper cannon will blow up. You have to destroy a total of five. Reach Metal Head Area via Sewer Go to the grey icon. Go through the door, and ride the elevator down. Go forward and right. Cross the pipes when green gas isn’t coming out of them. Go forward and through the door. Go along this tunnel (which has KG Death Bots in it), then, cross more pipes hen green gas isn’t coming out of them. Shoot the fan to destroy it, kill the KG Death Bots past it, then, continue along the path. Cross more pipes when green gas isn’t coming out of them, then, kill some Death Bots. Past here are KG Hover Guards. Jump onto the platform, and it ill move. Avoid the lasers and Hover Guards. Off the platform, kill some Death Bots. (You can go over the air vent nearby on your Jet-Board to get up to a room with crates in it. Yawn.) Go left and kill all the Hover Guards to get the electricity out of the path. Past here, kill all the Spy Bots to get more electricity out of the way. Jump onto the platform, and it will move. After jumping over a moving laser, jump over the bullets shot from the gun. When you get off the platform, go left. Drop down to a lower area. Kill some Saw Fish, then, dive under the grating in the water. Kill these Saw Fish so there won’t be too many later on, then, dive attack the switch. Some gates will open, and more Saw Fish will come through. Past here are two Kg Blade Beaters. You can’t hurt them. Stay in the water and dive when they go by to avoid them. Swim to the middle area, then, dive attack the switch to open the door. Go to the door and jump to it from a platform on the water. Go along the path, and go through a door. Kill some Hover Guards, then, go along the path, through a door, and up the elevator. Destroy Dark Eco Tanks There are a lot of Grunts and Stingers here. There are six Dark Eco tanks to destroy (green dots on map). On your Jet-Board, grind across the thin, blue vine nearby. (Don’t fall in the stuff below.) Jump to the area to the right, and jump onto the weird plant to be shot upwards. Attack the Dark Eco tank to destroy it. Drop to a lower area, and grind across a different vine than before. Go onto the plant to be shot to another area. Grind across two vines (Jump over the electric things on them), then, use the plant to be shot to another area. Grind across two more vines, then, use the plant to be shot up to the second tank. Destroy it, then, jump to the plant that will shoot you to another area. Grind along a vine (jump over the electric thing), then, grind along another vine to the area where the enemies are. Go left, and you’ll use a series of three plants to get to the third tank, which you must destroy. Use some more plants until you get to one that will shoot you to some platforms low near the evil water. Cross these (jumping and using spin attack will help keep you from slipping off the platforms), then, use the plant to be shot to another plant, which will shoot you up to another tank. Destroy it, then, use another plant to be shot to where he enemies are. Go forward, and destroy the last tank. You’ll learn Dark Strike (hold R1, then let go). Kill Dark Plants in Forest Go to the red icon and through the doors to get into the forest. There are a lot of Pod Spiders. The green dots on the map are Green Eco vents, and the purple dots are infected plants. You have to go through the vents on your Jet-Board, then, go through the plants to kill them. (You can only spread Green Eco on your Jet-Board. If you get off, you’ll run out of Eco. Also, you can run through Pod Spiders and kill them only when you have Green Eco. Otherwise, the Pod Spiders will hurt you.) Go through the plants quickly, or else they’ll spread and infect more plants all over again. (The green meter shows how much Green Eco you have left, and the purple meter shows how many dark plants are left.) (Remember, you can grind over logs and the rails remaining of broken bridges. Also, if you can’t find the plants, don’t forget to follow the river to another area.) When you’re done, pillars will rise in the water. Go to them and go in the light (green dot on the map) for shoulder armor (two more health units). The pillars will rise when you get off of them. Destroy Eco Grid with Jinx Get in the vehicle with Jinx. In this mission, you need to drive to the green dots on the map, and protect Jinx from Metal Heads when he does stuff. When he tells you, get back in the vehicle and drive away before the thing he was messing with blows up. After doing this a total of four times, there will be a cut scene, and you’ll get the Needle Lazer. Hijack Eco Vehicle Go to the green dot on the map, and get on the vehicle in the light. Missiles will start following you. Drive as fast as you can in the high hover zone (so you won’t hit anything to slow you down) to the green dot on the map. If the missiles hit you, you’ll die. At the Port, a 1:30 timer will start. (If you die at the Port, hold X from the fail mission screen so you’ll be going fast enough to get away from the missiles.) There are blue things (green dots on the map) near the water. Shoot them from a distance then get a little bit close so a missile will go to it. Do this a total of six times, then, drive towards the Naughty Ottsel for a cut scene. (Aw, poor Daxter’s sad now. His ugly statue thingy was beheaded.) Defend Port from Attack In this mission, you are stuck in small areas you can’t leave. You can only use one gun. The gun you can use changes when you pick up guns that appear at random. Health will appear at random, too. In the first area, kill all the Spy Bots and KG Death Bots. A few Freedom League Guards will come later on. In the second area, kill Grunts and Stingers (at first, Freedom League Guards will be there). In the third area, there are three innocents. Make sure at least one lives. Kill Stingers, Spy Bots, Grunts, and KG Death Bots. In the next area, kill Spy Bots and Blast Bots. (Some Freedom League Guards will come, but they’re absolutely no help.) Beat Gun Course 2 Go to the green icon. After talking to Tess, you’ll do the gun course. You are using the red gun, but starting out with the Wave Concussor. You need 11,000 points. Remember, shoot enemy targets for points; don’t shoot people targets or you’ll lose points. Shoot gold targets for extra points. Small targets that beep blow up, and some targets can shoot at you. Blue-tinted targets have shields, so you need to shoot them twice to break them. When you win, you’ll get the Plasmite RPG. Break Barrier with Blast Bot You control a Blast Bot in this (but the KG enemies still attack you). Shoot with R1. You have to go to the green dot on the map. Check behind you often to make sure no enemies are sneaking up behind you. Enemy Blast Bots are surprisingly much stronger than you are and can kill you very quickly, so shoot at them from a distance and walk left and right so it’s harder for them to hit you. (The cheat book says to use the walkways, but they don’t help at all, so don’t use them.) At the red barrier, walk into it, and there will be a cut scene. You’ll get the Peace Maker. Defend HQ from Attack You have to destroy three KG transport things (green dots on the map) by shooting the four things on the bottom (just shoot at them, your gun will aim at the right part on its own). These transports drop KG Sentinels, KG Death Bots, and Spy Bots. They also shoot missiles (the red targets on the ground show where they’ll land) and three lasers from beneath them that spin. They blow up when you destroy them. Race for more Artifacts Go to the blue icon and ride the air train to the Wasteland. For this mission, you use the Sand Shark, and you have a limited time to get all the artifacts (green dots on the map). When you get the Holo Cube, drive back to Spargus in the remaining time. Defend Spargus’s Front Gate At the tire icon on the map, get in a vehicle and drive out into the Wasteland. You have to shoot destroy 13 catapults (and other Marauder vehicles, since some run into Spargus’s front gate on fire). (Red dots on the map are catapults; orange dots are normal Marauder vehicles.) If the front gate takes too much damage (grey meter in the upper left corner of the screen), you lose. When you win, drive to the light (green dot on the map) for the Beam Generator. Take out Marauder Stronghold Go to the tire icon and get on the Dune Hopper. Out in the Wasteland, drive to the grey icon. (You have to jump over a few gaps in the bridge on your way to the stronghold.) In the stronghold, there will be a cut scene. You have to kill 60 Marauders (catapults will be shooting fireballs into the stronghold). After killing the Marauders, four Marauder vehicles (green dots on the map) will drive away. You have a limited time to get in your Dune Hopper, chase them, and destroy them. (You start off with three turbos. When you destroy these Marauders, hey leave behind turbos.) You have about 59 second for the first three and 1:59 for the fourth. After destroying them, drive into the light for the Prism. Destroy Metal-pedes in Nest Drive to the mountain icon on the map. After a cut scene, get in the Gila Stomper with Sig. Drive into the Nest. (Like before, there are Pod Spiders and Bats. Also, the green dots are Metal-pedes under ground, and red dots are Metal-pedes above ground.) You have to shoot and destroy five Metal-pedes when they’re above ground. They have health meters so you can know how much health they have left. Metal-pedes can shoot lasers that can flip over your vehicle. Also, you’ll get hurt if you run into them. After killing them all, drive to the light for a Light Eco Crystal. Chase Down Metal Head Beasts Sig is driving the Gila Stomper, while you shoot the turret. The green dots on the map are Metal Head Beasts. There are the kind you’ve seen before that shoot bombs at you and flying Metal Heads that shoot missiles. (Shoot what the Metal Heads shoot at you so they won’t hit the vehicle.) After killing them all, drive into the light. Find Switch in Sewers Go to the grey icon and through the doors. Ride the elevator down into the sewer. Kill some KG Hover Guards, then, go forward and kill some KG Hover Guards. Go left and cross the pipes when green stuff isn’t coming out. Go forward and through the door. Kill some Robo Goons Hopper Bots, then, go right. Jump over two moving lasers. Kill some more Robo Goons, then, jump over two more moving lasers. Kill some Hopper Bots, then, go right and kill some Robo Goons. Cross the water, then, climb up the ledges to the left. There are some Robo Goons here. Go forward to some more Robo Goons and Hover Guards. Go right. There are three moving lasers. When the top laser is not lined up with the bottom two, jump over the bottom two lasers. Kill some Hopper Bots, then, go left and kill some more Hopper Bots. Go forward to some Robo Goons. Go along the path to a room with shallow water in it. Red waves are coming out of the machine to the left. If the waves touch you, the machine will shoot out three lasers and spin. Press the red switch to the left to open a gate and turn off the machine. Kill the Hover Guards that came through the gate, then, go through the gate. You’ll land in a room with water and Frogs in it. Go forward and right. Cross the ledges moving in and out of the wall over the fast-moving water. There are Frogs past here. Go in the water, and dive under the wall. Go left to some Robo Goons. Climb up the ledges moving down the waterfall nearby. Jump to the land to the left. Cross the pipes moving in and out of the water to some KG Death Bots. Cross another pipe moving in and out of the water, then, climb up the ledges moving down the waterfall. Jump to the land to the right where some Robo Goons are. Cross some more pipes moving in and out of the water to some more Death Bots. Go forward. After a cut scene, go right through a door. Go left then right through another door and up the elevator. Find Cypher in Eco Grid In this mission, you control Daxter’s head, and you have to go through all the orange thinsg. Use the control stick to change where you’re moving in and press X to move faster. Don’t hit the red thing that moves along the red line or you’ll lose. Sometimes a yellow thing comes and leaves behind orange things. Go through it to make it go away. After getting all the orange things, get the blue thing that appears. Beat Pillar Ring Challenges Go to the tree icon on the map to get to the forest. There are five oracles here (that are green dots on the map in the options ring). When you go |
