Walkthrough - Special Vehicles GuideJUST CAUSE SPECIAL VEHICLES WALKTHROUGH Version 1.0 By GTA_Loco xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 1. WELCOME TO SAN ESPERITO xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx In a huge place like this fictional South American Island where you have to tackle your missions in what's said to be an approximately 1,225 square miles of mountains, jungles, beaches, cities and villages, you can expect to encounter all sorts of vehicles that range from a variety of land, sea and air craft. Interestingly, some of these vehicles have extra features and properties that make them special and stand out from among the rest. Many of these have some of these special features are useful, but some are rather trivial. The special qualities we can list here are: 1) Bulletproofing and Damageproofing. Vehicle protections from gunfire and physical abuse by way of constant crashing. 2) Exclusive colors in their vehicle class. More for looks than anything else. 3) Uniqueness. A type of vehicle that's the only one of its kind in the game. 4) Rarity. Something that's difficult to find or obtain, or a one-time appearance only. As usual, most of these vehicles can be found only inside missions, both storyline and side ones. Some however are obtainable even in free roam, although you still need to perform mission-related tasks to be able to acquire them. These are probably also part of the little secrets in the game that involve ride able vehicles that you have to discover. Not that all of them are useful in your mission objectives, but maybe some of them are nice to have in your collection of special vehicles just the same, if you're particularly into this aspect in playing the game also. This guide would be divided into five sections: 1.PROOFED VEHICLES 2.EXCLUSIVELY COLORED VEHICLES 3.UNIQUE VEHICLES 4.RARE VEHICLES 5.UNOBTAINABLE SPECIAL VEHICLES. Note that every information here was based on the PS2, and may have some slightly different version in another platform. If anyone has some information relating to this guide, kindly sent me a note on this address: srgvm2005@yahoo.com I'd be more than glad to know about them. This guide would be regularly updated as refinements on the information provided are still expected. Any contribution is most certainly welcome. ***************************************************************************** 1.01 A RISKY WORLD OUT THERE ***************************************************************************** It's never exactly a safe drive anywhere in San Esperito both from any of the law enforcement agencies and rival cartel the Montanos, that's why you should take note to be extra careful when transporting any of your hard won special vehicle to any of your safehouses. Law enforcers can be ruthless, they won't bust you in the normal way by apprehension, but are extremely trigger-happy and would not bat an eyelash shooting at you at a mere offense of mildly bumping into another vehicle or pedestrian. Attack helicopters can even aggravate the risk for you in most occasions even for as low as a 1 wanted level of offense. So don't take the risk, if you wouldn't want having to go through all the process of obtaining again a special vehicle. You can use your opened safehouses however, particularly the garage to lose the heat. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 2. VERSION HISTORY xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Version 1.0 (October 18, 2006): Created this guide and submitted to Gamefaqs.com xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 5. YOUR SAFEHOUSES AND GARAGES xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx You have access to about 48 safehouses in all in the entire Island, each of which has a decent size garage where you can store your choiced special vehicle. Quite unfortunately though, each of this garage can accommodate strictly only ONE medium to small vehicle despite the fact that there's still so much room to store more. One thing that's also certain is you can't store any type of aircraft in any of them without the risk of losing it. Not only because size is an issue, but the garages don't save aircrafts and not even repair them, even if they could fit in there like the Delta SH4 Boxhead type of helicopter or the smallest of all aircraft, the Gyrocopter. Therefore, this would mean there is no hope in obtaining some nice aircraft in some mission, particularly the Bulletproof/Damageproof Gyrocopter of Otto Kleiner in the mission Guadalicano Choo Choo. You can't open garages also if you're pushing a vehicle inside it using another one. You have to be very close to the door for it to open and this can prove rather difficult if it requires that you use a second vehicle for pushing one that is locked and you want to obtain. Only one special vehicle however is locked in the game that would require this procedure. Good news is, no purchases or mission completion is required to be able to use any of the garages if you need them only for storing your vehicles. Everything is open and useable already right from the very start of the game, only that you can't save in the unlocked safehouses if you don't have access to them yet. You can easily access most of these by land, no restrictions instated or barriers are installed to prevent you from transporting your vehicles from garage to garage. There are some advantages though in opening the safehouses like having access to different sorts of high-powered weapons and some armed aircrafts which could be of great help to your assignments, this, apart from them being a convenient means to travel from place to place. So you might want to open the safehouses nevertheless, whenever the game allows you already to do so at a given stage. These safehouses can be unlocked in at least three different ways, given that you acquire them from three different sources. You need to perform certain tasks from each source to be able to open a safehouse and save your game progress there. Out of these 48 safehouses/garages, 5 are obtained from the Agency, 10 are from the Rioja Cartel & 33 from the Guerilla. ***************************************************************************** 5.01: LOCATIONS ***************************************************************************** 1. GUERILLA SAFEHOUSES/GARAGES ***************************************************************************** A total of 33 safehouses can be acquired from the guerilla group whom you'll be helping for the most part of your missions. This would happen only after you complete a given mission, after which would result in the destabilization of a province or provinces affected by the outcome. A province or provinces ripe for liberation of settlements is/are colored red in the political map in your PDA. 1. RIOJA CARTEL SAFEHOUSES/GARAGES ***************************************************************************** Probably the easiest to have access are the Rioja's, though maybe a bit time consuming and tedious. 10 safehouses are obtainable from this group, most of which awards you too with cool vehicle rewards. To unlock these, you have to earn certain number of prestige points required to open a particular safehouse. The higher the numbering of a safehouse, the higher the number of points required too. Accumulate these points by doing any side mission and/or overthrowing a Montano estate which award you a 30 points for each successful mission. Side missions in particular can be obtained from a Rioja employer from an estate owned by them already anywhere in San Esperito where it is available. Only one mission, Test of Loyalty is required to be done for the Riojas to be able to open the rest of the settlements and side missions for this group to raise your prestige points. 1. BUENA FORTUNA - RIOJA 01 Location: Provincia de la Cruz Requirement:100 pts. 2. PARADISO BAY - RIOJA 02 Location: Provincia de Rio Negro Requirement:200 pts. 3. DEFINITION OF TERMS xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx BP - Bulletproof: Protected from any form of gunfire. It can unlimitedly withstand ALL types of bullet-based firearms ranging from pistols to a minigun. DP -Damage Proof: Vehicle does not sustain any form of physical destruction, in terms of denting and deterioration of its health due to constant physical abuse like crashing or getting hit with non firearm/explosive weapons. Motorbikes for one don't get dented but you'll know if they sustain damaging from crashing if you see them smoke after awhile. EC - Exclusive Color: Some vehicles do not have any proofing at all, but have a color that is unobtainable from any Pay n Spray. The colors aren't anything unique by themselves, but something you would find only in one vehicle from among the rest in its class. In some cases the "exclusivity" of a color scheme is in the way they are applied to a given vehicle. They may be the same colors you can ordinarily get from the vehicle but the application can be "reversed". There are some vehicles though that sport an exclusive color and are proofed at the same time. UNIQUE - A vehicle that has a totally different look from the rest. A one of its kind in the game, something that doesn't only have an exclusive paintjob but with features that belongs to that vehicle only. You wouldn't see any other similar type driving around any of the cities nor spawned anywhere else. RARE - A vehicle that has a very limited presence in the game. It's not just a different version of a regularly spawning vehicle but something that you can only find inside a mission or chance circumstances. OBTAINABLE/UNOBTAINABLE - The terms refer to the final state of the special property/properties of the vehicle or the vehicle itself, whether it/they can be acquired and saved or not, when a mission is tactically failed intentionally or successfully completed. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 7. THE WALKTHROUGHS xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx In roughly storyline order, here are the special vehicles and the walkthrough on how you can get them. The methods here have been done and tested on PS2 platform and may have some slight differences on other platforms. One interesting common aspect of most of the special vehicles you can find in the game has something to do with the fact that they are armed. You can find a lot of them having mounted machine guns which are not simply for looks, but are even useable. Note that your adversaries here are not lame who would just fire their guns at you, but they also throw grenades and in the case of the armed enemy units, they fire their cannons and rockets at you with deadly accuracy. So maybe that's another thing that you have to very careful of when figuring in a skirmish with an enemy. One other important fact in dealing with the game mechanics which play an important role in your special vehicle quest is how your character can't push any vehicle. This would be important to take into consideration too as there would be circumstances where you can find yourself literally stuck someplace. Be careful as well of riding more than two vehicles or you run the risk of losing the first one. This would be risky of course if it involves your special vehicle. Difficulty rating would be based on the whole process involved in obtaining the special vehicles inclusive of the stage or stages in the mission that you have to go through, as well as after the mission is failed or passed. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 8. PROOFED VEHICLES xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx These are the so-called bulletproof ones. Most of this type of vehicles existing in the game belong to the military and guerilla and can be found in most occasions during an attack in a military base. Only one so far, the Armadillo MV of Shledon in the very first mission, is a non law enforcement vehicle that is bulletproof and damageproof. ***************************************************************************** 8.01: BULLETPROOF/DAMAGEPROOF/EXCLUSIVE COLOR BLUE ARMADILLO MV ***************************************************************************** Location : El Rosario, Provincia Aguilar Mission : Devil's Drop Zone Character : Sheldon Difficulty : 3 Source : GTA_Loco Your very first Bulletproof/Damageproof car in the game. Too bad it isn't "everything proof", but this would be useful already for some of those difficult missions. Expectedly, this game would have some Bulletproof cars just like in GTA, and this is just one of them so far. METHOD 1 Do the mission as normal and complete it until you and Sheldon drive to your first safe house in the game. Dismount from the vehicle as quickly as you can once you get passed the highway and in the dirt road already going to the safe house, just before you enter the cut scene. This is important because if you didn't dismount the MV, most of the time you'd find it slammed into a tree somewhere a bit down the hill. You wouldn't prefer this happen as it would be one hell of a time getting this to your garage. But if you've dismounted prior to the cut scene, you'd find the MV parked in the middle of the dirt road allowing you more convenience to push it to your garage. Bad news is, the MV would be locked so just like in GTA, you need to unlock it inside the garage. Now the difficult part in obtaining this is in pushing it to your garage. It's disappointing enough that you can't use Rico to push vehicles in the game so you'll just have to rely on another vehicle. And what can also be frustrating is the fact that garage doors tend to push away vehicles when opening, and also wouldn't open for you when you're riding in a vehicle and about one car length away from the door. On foot, the door would open even when you're not near the door, but in vehicles that wouldn't happen. So you need to jack a small sized-car and use this to push the MV inside. Try to force the MV to get on top of your vehicle so that you can get close enough to the garage door for it to open. Just push the MV while it's on top of you until you're inside the garage. If by stroke of glitch you find yourself trapped inside the garage with both of the vehicles, just destroy the other vehicle and the garage door would open again. Sometimes the car you're driving or the MV you're pushing would get stuck somewhere, and there's no way you can use Rico to unstuck them. You can't ride a second vehicle should the one you're in get stuck, or if you're thinking of using it to wedge the garage door open so that you can push the MV inside. For some silly reasons the MV would disappear even when it's just right in front of you. This method may take several annoying attempts, as the garages in the game are disappointingly inefficient. You can't even store more than one vehicle, which is a lot of wasted vacant space especially for the big garages. But if you've successfully kept it inside, just save the game and you'll now have a sweet Bulletproof/Damageproof car. If when you open your garage sometimes and find the MV or any other vehicles inside gone, just wait awhile and it would appear again. ***************************************************************************** 8.02: BULLETPROOF/DAMAGEPROOF MILITARY BALLARD M5B1 SCOUT ***************************************************************************** Location : San Esperito Military Camps Mission : Military Base Liberation Operations Character : Guerilla Difficulty : 3 or 4 Source : GTA_Loco It's the standard tank used by the military, a light blue and dark gray colored tank with the military insignia, that you can find regularly spawned in a few bases but which usually appears also whenever you're liberating a military camp or base. METHOD 1 Start liberating a military camp in a politically unstable province and just wait until the tank appears. Be aware though that it would fire its cannon at you with serious intent of killing you. So if you can avoid it, try your best to dodge its attack and jack it once you get near it. You can use it to proceed with your liberation work by just using it to vanquish your enemy. Save it in your garage once you're successfully done with your task. ***************************************************************************** 8.03: BULLETPROOF/DAMAGEPROOF GUERILLA BALLARD M5B1 SCOUT ***************************************************************************** Location : San Esperito Military Camps Mission : Military Base Liberation Operations Character : Guerilla Difficulty : 3 or 4 Source : GTA_Loco A tank used by the guerilla that is rather rare and can be seen only during a military camp liberation. It's a green and dark gray colored tank with a red star guerilla insignia, not obtainable anywhere else or in any other occasion except when you're doing a military camp liberation. This wouldn't appear too in other countryside settlement liberations. METHOD 1 Choose which military camp is already ripe for overthrowing once the province it is located is politically unstable already. Start liberating the camp, then just wait awhile for a guerilla tank to appear. If one is around, carefully approach it then steal it and use it to complete the mission. Be careful though with your enemy as they would fire their cannons at you and you run the risk of losing the tank if it gets badly hit. When you're done with the mission, just save it in any of your garage. ***************************************************************************** 8.04: BULLETPROOF/DAMAGEPROOF/EXCLUSIVE COLOR RIOJA CARTEL BALLARD M5B1 SCOUT ***************************************************************************** Location : Motor City Safehouse- Rioja 07, Resolucion Mission : Rioja Cartel Side Mission / Capitan 1,500 pts Character : Rioja Cartel Difficulty : 3 or 4 Source : GTA_Loco This tank looks everything else exactly the same as the guerilla and military tanks except for its paintjob. It's a yellow green tank distinctive of the Rioja color, plus the Cartel's insignia emblazoned on it. METHOD 1 Accumulate a total of 1,500 points by overthrowing Montano properties combined with doing easy side missions for the Riojas and you can find this regularly spawned in Safehouse 07 as a reward for you in getting promoted to the rank of Capitan. You don't need to keep one in your garage though as this would always be there at the back of your safehouse garage. ***************************************************************************** 8.05: BULLETPROOF/DAMAGEPROOF/BROWN BALLARD M5B1 SCOUT ***************************************************************************** Location : Provincia de los Guererros Mission : Free Roam Character : Rico Difficulty : 1 Source : GTA_Loco Looks similar to the other tanks but this one is colored light brown. The only other time this tank would appear is during the mission Taking Out the Garbage where it would be used by the presidential tank commander that you have to take out. In free roam though it can be found regularly parked beside a shack by the gorge, a li |
