While reading this, take note that I'm actually playing the game in small sections and then writing the guide so that I don't miss anything that I feel is important. And, I'm playing on Hard, which means that some enemies won't appear in the easier difficulties and enemy locations will differ from Extreme. So if you're sitting around scratching your head wondering why something's different, that might be why. If I remember a guard not appearing, I'll try to mention it. As for enemy location on Extreme, spare me; if you're playing on Extreme, you shouldn't need to use a FAQ. I should also mention that I prefer using directions rather than saying "right", "left", or "forward". If you look at the map in the Survival Menu, you'll see that the area at the top is always north, and since the camera usually faces north, right is east, left is west, et cetera. When or if this doesn't apply, I'll use the other terms. Any questions, comments, corrections, or contributions are welcome, my email is tarrun75(at)gmail(dot)com. Please make sure to add something related to Snake Eater in the subject line so I don't have to figure out what game you're talking about. Also, questions regarding something that's already covered in the guide will not be answered. Credit will be given to anything sent to me that I add or major corrections. For corrections, please email me only if it's something really important, something that will clearly confuse anyone reading. Legal information: This document is copyrighted Tarrun 2004-2007. Third Submission: Version 2.0 - Completely revised the guide; rewrote parts of the existing sections and added plenty of new ones. II - Weapons, Items, and Everything Else 001.0 - Weapons 001.1 - Melee Weapons - Cigarette Spray - A classic KGB weapon, the Cig Spray looks like an ordinary cigarette but actually contains highly concentrated knockout gas. You have to be fairly close by for it to take effect, though, so only use this weapon when you're in disguise and can't use your weapons. - Fork - Basically an even weaker version of the Survival Knife, you get this weapon in your cell in Groznyj Grad. The only reason to use the Fork is to eat something, because you'll automatically gain the stamina instead of having to go through the backpack system. - Knockout Handkerchief - A handkerchief soaked in an anesthetic. If you sneak up behind an enemy and cover their faces with it, they'll immediately collapse and fall asleep. It's a good weapon to use when you need to quietly clear an area and don't want to use a firearm. - Survival Knife - Your standard combat knife that can be used to stab things with. Fairly weak compared to most of your other weapons, so you'll have to do a lot of stabbing to actually kill someone. It can also be used to interrogate a captured enemy soldier. - Torch - Besides being a large piece of wood that can be used to beat your enemies with, the Torch can also be lit to light your way in dark areas and protect yourself from animals. 001.2 - Handguns - EZ Gun - A stun gun with infinite ammo, you can only use it if you're playing on Very Easy or replaying a game after capturing all of the food in the game in a previous run. It's a great weapon, albeit pretty cheap to use. - M1911A1 - A .45 pistol and Snake's main lethal weapon. It has a decent rate of fire and can be equipped with a suppressor, making it extremely useful in just about any situation, with the exception of large gunfights. - MK22 - The non-lethal version of the M19. You have to be careful where and when you use the MK22 because it must be reloaded after each shot. However, the positive is that you'll only need one shot per enemy. How quickly your target is knocked out depends on where they're hit, so head shots are immediate, torso shots take a few seconds to take effect, and hits to the arms and legs will take even longer. - Single Action Army - Six shots, more than enough to kill anything that moves... Sorry, I couldn't help throwing at least one Ocelot quote there. The Single Action Army is a powerful revolver that can be used to ricochet bullets off of walls or other objects. You gain it after selecting the correct weapon during the final scene. Even though it packs quite a punch, it fires very slowly and takes forever to reload. 001.3 - Rifles - AK-47 - I think one of the requirements for an action game is that the AK must be a weapon somewhere in the game. It has above average accuracy and a thirty-round clip, which makes the AK-47 a weapon you can depend on when you really need a lot of firepower. - M37 - An extremely powerful shotgun that sends anything it hits flying backwards. It has a slow rate of fire, though, so only use it against a limited number of enemies at a time and in close quarters. - M63 - Oh my, the M63 is quite a weapon. It has what seems like a never- ending clip, so you can mow down dozens of enemies at a time. You can increase the rate of fire by pressing down more on the fire button, and Snake lets out a roar when using it. - Mosin Nagant - The End's tranquilizer sniper rifle, which you acquire if you drain The End's stamina instead of killing him. Like the SVD, the Mosin Nagant isn't very useful because of how loud it is, but it makes draining The Boss' stamina much easier. Keep in mind that the Mosin Nagant is a bolt- action rifle, so you'll have to reload after every shot. - Patriot - The Boss' own modified assault rifle, which you automatically get after completing the game once. It has great accuracy, a high rate of fire, and infinite ammo. In fact, the only thing that it's missing is a suppressor; otherwise, it's the best rifle in the game. - Scorpion - The Scorpion is a small machine gun that doesn't pack as much of a punch as any of the other assault rifles. The only positive aspect of it is the laser sight, which means that your accuracy is probably going to be better. This makes it a great weapon to use during the motorcycle chase through Groznyj Grad. - SVD - A sniper rifle with a long-range, two-setting scope. As useful as it is to use when you have a good vantage point, the SVD is also the most fun weapon to use, in my opinion. The only problem is that it's loud, so trying to quietly pick off enemies at a distance and then sending the area into a caution is kind of redundant. - XM16E1 - The only assault rifle that can be equipped with a suppressor, which definitely makes the XM16E1 a great weapon to use at times. It can also change the rate of fire from fully automatic, semi-automatic, and a three-burst shot. It only has a twenty-round clip, though, so you'll want to make sure you hit what you aim at. 001.4 - Explosives - C3 - Plastic explosives used to destroy the Shagohod's fuel tanks. Considering that you never use them anywhere else, writing anything more about them would be a waste of time. - Chaff Grenade - A grenade that temporarily disables electronics, including cameras. - Claymore Mine - Anti-personnel landmine with a motion detector in the front. After planting it, any enemy that walks by within a few feet will be missing a few legs afterwards. You can pick up buried Claymores by crawling over them. - Grenade - A standard frag grenade. After pulling the pin, you have a few seconds before it goes off. The more you press the Square button down, the farther you'll throw it. - RPG-7 - Otherwise known as a Rocket Propelled Grenade, or simply rocket launcher. Unlike the Stinger Missile Launcher from the other Metal Gear games, the RPG-7 isn't guided in any way, so be sure to use the first-person view and aim carefully before firing. - Smoke Grenade - A grenade that created a wall of smoke that blinds and immobilizes them for a few moments. If Snake is caught in the blast, though, he'll go into a coughing fit as well. - Stun Grenade - When Stun Grenades explode, the flash of light and loud noise temporarily stuns anyone in the area. If it goes off when an enemy is close enough, they'll be knocked unconscious. - TNT - Powerful explosives that can be used to destroy enemy armories and food storage warehouses. After planting it, press the Circle button to detonate it. - WPG (White Phosphorus Grenade) - A grenade that causes anything in the surrounding area to catch fire, including animals, plants, and enemies. 001.5 - Miscellaneous - Book - If you drop this magazine and an enemy finds it, they'll be so engrossed in it (for the articles, of course) that they become oblivious to everything going on around them. - Directional Microphone - The Directional Microphone is extremely sensitive and can pick up the sounds of footsteps of passing enemies. You can also use it to listen in on conversations or hear The End breathing. - Magazine - An empty magazine clip that can be thrown to distract an enemy while they investigate the noise. The harder you press the button down, the farther you'll throw it. - Mousetrap - Besides physically hunting them down, mousetraps are the best way to capture animals for food. Set one down and walk away, and within a few moments you'll be rewarded with a tasty snack. It's also the only way to capture a Tsuchinoko. 002.0 - Items - Active Sonar - The Active Sonar is Snake Eater's equivalent to the radar in the previous games. It appears as a small box in the corner of the screen and shows the positions of everything in the area. It uses batteries, and can only be used on the lower difficulties. - Anti-Person Sensor - The AP Sensor gives off a beep when an enemy is nearby. The shorter the interval between beeps, the closer they are to Snake. On the high difficulties, the AP Sensor and Thermal Goggles are the two best items to use to sneak around. - Binoculars - As one would expect, the Binoculars allow Snake to view areas from a distance; you can change the magnitude of the zoom by pressing Triangle or Square. However, I personally favor using the SVD's scope instead, since you can equip your Thermal Goggles at the same time. - Bug Juice - Nature's own insect repellant, the Bug Juice will keep hornets and leeches off of you while it lasts. Use it if you're planning to take a swim in a swamp or annoy a hornet's nest. - Camera - The Camera allows you to take photographs of anything you want in the game, and these pictures are saved and can be viewed from the main menu. You can find the Camera in the Groznyj Grad prison in Groznyj Grad Southeast. - Cardboard Box - The box is one of the signature items in the Metal Gear Solid series, and there's no way it would be left out in Snake Eater. When equipped, Snake will hide under the box to trick enemies into ignoring him. The box can be destroyed if damaged enough, and you won't fool anyone if the guards are under alert of you're walking around. - Cigar - Similar to the Cigarettes in the other Metal Gear Solid games, Snake's Cigar will steady his aim when equipped. It also can be used to burn off leeches in the Cure Menu, drive away hornets, and create a small light when you're in the dark. The only negative is that it also slowly drains your health at the same time. - Crocodile Cap - Found in the lake just after Rassvet, the Croc Cap is just what it sounds like - a crocodile head that Snake can wear. If you equip it while you're in the water, enemies will think you're just a harmless crocodile. Great for getting around in the Ponizovje River undetected, but pretty much useless just about everywhere else. - Fake Death Pill - A pill that will temporarily put Snake in a state of suspended animation, making it look like he's dead. Snake will collapse, the Game Over screen will appear, and any enemies that are in the area will inspect the "corpse" before going back to their normal routine. Afterwards, take the Revival Pill to wake up; if you wait too long, though, the effects will become permanent. - Life Medicine - The only item in the game that will actually restore your health (by about 25%). Otherwise, you'll have to just sit around and let your health gradually replenish. - Mine Detector - It detects mines. Specifically, when equipped, the Mine Detector gives off a small noise when you're standing near a mine. If you find out that you're in a minefield, quickly lie down and equip your Thermal Goggles to find them. The Mine Detector uses batteries. - Monkey Mask - Ok, so maybe the Monkey Mask doesn't actually do anything, but at least it looks kind of funny. You earn the Mask by completing all of the Snake vs. Monkey missions. - Motion Detector - Similar to the Active Sonar, the Motion Detector appears as a radar screen that gives you the positions of moving objects. The Motion Detector uses batteries, and is only available on the lower difficulties. - Night Vision Goggles - The Night Vision Goggles amplify the light in a given area to make it easier to see in the dark. Be careful about using the Goggles in a well-lit area, though, or everything will be blinding white. The Night Vision Goggles use batteries. - Pentazamin - A drug that temporarily stops Snake's shaking hands, increasing his accuracy. Obviously, this is a great item to use along with a sniper rifle. - Revival Pill - The complementary pill to the Fake Death Pill, this one will wake Snake from his fake death. It can't be removed from your item menu to prevent you from being unable to revive yourself. - Stealth Camouflage - The Stealth will camouflage Snake in any area, giving him a camouflage index rating of 100% regardless of whether you're standing, crouching, or punching an enemy. However, the Stealth Camouflage will drop to 95% in two situations: during an alert and during a boss fight. You can obtain this extremely useful item by either completing the game without triggering a single alert or by shooting all sixty-four of the Kerotan (the little toy frogs) that are hidden throughout the game. To be honest, though, it's actually a lot easier to play through the game without getting an alert than it is to hit some of the Kerotan, particularly during the motorcycle chase sequence. - Thermal Goggles - Easily one of the most useful items in the game, once equipped you can distinguish everything by how much heat it gives off. Inanimate objects are primarily blue or black, whereas living things like plants, animals, or humans are red and orange. The Thermal Goggles make hunting and attacking much easier. Like the Night Vision Goggles, the Thermal Goggles use batteries. 003.0 - Food A new feature in the Metal Gear Solid series is having to hunt for food to maintain your stamina. Thankfully, food in the jungle is abundant, and you won't go more than a few steps before you find something edible. In this section, I'll list all forty-seven you can eat in the game, along with a short description of how it tastes and where it can be found. Keep in mind that if you collect every item of food in one play-through, you'll earn the Markhor ranking and receive the EZ Gun as a reward. 003.10 - Animals 003.11 - Snakes - Snake A - King Cobra - Description: A poisonous snake that's black and gray in color. Its distinctive hood behind its head makes the King Cobra stand out from most other snakes. Taste: Very Good Stamina Recovery: High Where It's Found: In the tall grass during the Virtuous Mission before meeting with Sokolov. - Snake B - Taiwanese Cobra - Description: A dark snake that lives in damp areas. Taste: Moderate Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: The Chyomaya Peschera caves after the Ocelot battle. - Snake C - Thai Cobra - Description: A red and brown snake that blends in with a desert environment. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: They're pretty common, but you can find one during the Ocelot battle. You have to kill it anyway, otherwise it'll attack you. - Snake E - Milk Snake - Description: A non-threatening snake that mimics that Coral Snake in appearance. The one difference is that Milk Snakes are mainly red and gold with a few black stripes, whereas Coral Snakes are red and black with gold stripes. The best way to tell them apart is by simply seeing if it tries to attack you. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: Another fairly common snake, but you can find them in the areas around the Graniny Gorki labs. - Snake F - Green Tree Python - Description: A green snake that's primarily found, as the name implies, hanging from tree branches. Taste: High Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: You can find one in the beginning of Operation Snake Eater right before the cinematic with The Boss. It's hanging from a branch and dangling right in front of you. - Snake G - Giant Anaconda - Description: A very large black snake. Despite its size and its depiction in movies starring Ice Cube, it's actually pretty harmless. Taste: Very Good Stamina Recovery: High Where It's Found: They're not as common, but you'll find one in the Chyomaya Peschera caves just before The Pain. - Snake H - Reticulated Python - Description: The most common animal that you'll come across, the Reticulated Python is a brownish gray snake that likes to hide in grassy areas. Taste: High Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: Just about everywhere, but if you need something specific, you'll find them around Rassvet. - Snake I - Snake Liquid - Description: A special, mysterious white and silver snake that's only found in Rokovoj Bereg where you fight The Boss. Taste: Very Good Stamina Recovery: Very High Where It's Found: Rokovoj Bereg - Use your Thermal Goggles or sensors to find them. - Tsuchinoko - Description: A legendary snake with a wide body and small tail and head. According to these legends, Tsuchinokos can speak and have a tendency to lie to anyone it meets. If you capture one alive and keep it for the entire game, you're rewarded with the Infinite Face Paint. Taste: Very Good Stamina Recovery: Very High Where It's Found: The Tsuchinoko is only found in two areas, and you have to capture it in both to earn the face paint. The first is in Graniny Gorki South before you fight The Fear; you'll have to lay down mousetraps and wait for the Tsuchinoko to get caught in one. After that, you'll have to recapture it in the area near the waterfall after your encounter with The Sorrow. After you collect your equipment, go back out and find it along the path just next to the stream. 003.12 - Birds - Bird A - Parrot - Description: The End's parrot. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: You'll only be able to find this bird during the battle with The End. It's in the first area (Sokrovenno South), either on the storehouse or on top of a tree next to it. - Bird B - White-Rumped Vulture - Description: A large vulture that's found in desert environments and enjoys feeding on dead animals. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: You'll find them all over the Krasnogorje Mountains. - Bird C - Red Avadavat Description: A small red bird - nothing that really separates it from any of the others you'll come across. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: They aren't extremely common, but you'll find them around Graniny Gorki or Groznyj Grad. - Bird D - Magpie - Description: A small black bird with a long tail. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: They're pretty annoying to catch, but you can find them around Dremuchij or the Bolshaya base. - Bird E - Sunda Whistling Thrush - Description: A small blue bird. Taste: High Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: On the roof of the building where Sokolov is being held in Rassvet. 003.13 - Fish - Fish A - Bigeye Trevally - Description: A fish with presumably big eyes. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: Anywhere that there's water, particularly the Ponizovje river. - Fish B - Maroon Shark - Description: As the name implies, it basically looks like a miniature shark. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: They're everywhere along the Ponizovje river. - Fish C - Arowana - Description: A very large, almost prehistoric, fish. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: The Ponizovje river is a good place to look, as well as the small ponds in the Chyomaya Peschera caves. 003.14 - Frogs - Frog A - Otton Frog - Description: A fairly large brown frog. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: These things are rampant in the Chyomaya Peschera caves. Throw a grenade near the waterfall where the Torch is and you'll be able to collect a dozen of them at a time. - Frog B - Tree Frog - Description: Another pretty uncharacteristic frog. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: This type of frog is fairly common, so you really shouldn't have too much trouble finding one. Check out the Zaozyorje forest, behind the waterfall after The Sorrow, the Ponizovje river, or anywhere in Dremuchij. - Frog C - Poison Dart Frog - Description: A poisonous frog with an obvious red and blue skin color to warn predators. You'll get sick if you eat it. Taste: Very Bad Stamina Recovery: None Where It's Found: Another pretty widespread frog, but in particular they're in Graniny Gorki South. Collect a bunch of them here and use them to poison The Fear later on for a quick and easy non-lethal boss fight. 003.15 - Miscellaneous - Cobalt Blue Tarantula - Description: A poisonous blue spider. You probably won't even notice that it's near you until you get bitten. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: Mostly in buildings, like the Graniny Gorki prison cells or the shack at the top of the Krasnogorje Mountains, but if you search around the mountain you'll find a few roaming around outside as well. - Emperor Scorpion - Description: A poisonous black scorpion. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: The Krasnogorje Mountains - European Rabbit - Description: A cute little brown rabbit. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: You'll find them pretty much anywhere that's wooded, but you'll remember them most for being in the Sokrovenno forest when you're fighting The End and need something to eat to regain stamina. - Indian Gavial - Description: A very large, very terrifying crocodile. Not only can it eat you if you happen to swim to close to its mouth, but it can swat you with its tail. But if you manage to kill one (you can toss a grenade in its mouth a la the Dodongos from The Legend of Zelda) you'll be rewarded with three meals instead of the usual one. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: High Where It's Found: Mainly in swamps such as Dremuchij or the lake in Chyornyj Prud (where you find the Croc Cap). - Japanese Flying Squirrel - Description: A small brown squirrel that uses flaps of skin around its arms to glide along tree branches. They seem to only come out at night. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: Check the area where you begin Operation Snake Eater and Graniny Gorki South (before fighting The Fear). You may have to use your Thermal Goggles. - Kenyan Mangrove Crab - Description: A small crab that lives in shallow water. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: Very widespread in the Chyomaya Peschera caves. - Markhor - Description: A gray mountain goat. It can kick you if you get too close to it, but it's much less dangerous than the Indian Gavial. And it's so large that you get two meals from it. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: High Where It's Found: This is another animal that you'll be glad appears frequently in the Sokrovenno forest. - Rat - Description: A rat. Taste: Moderate Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: Check any buildings with vents or crawlspaces and you're bound to find a rat running around. - Russian Ration - Description: The standard ration provided to Russian soldiers. It may taste awful, but it will recover your stamina and never spoil. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: Food warehouses are the best place to find them, but soldiers in the Ocelot unit have a tendency to drop them as well if you search their bodies. - Vampire Bat - Description: Your average bat; they're found primarily in caves and in large groups. If you disturb them, they might fly down and bite you. Scare them away by swinging a lit torch. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: Caves or anything that's similar to a cave will probably contain a few bats, including the Chyomaya Peschera caves and the tunnel leading down to The Fury. 003.20 - Plants 003.21 - Mushrooms - Mushroom A - Russian Oyster - Description: A black, fairly uncharacteristic mushroom. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: Check by the bottoms of trees in forests. Check out Bolshaya Past Base if you really want one. - Mushroom B - Ural Luminescent - Description: Similar to a shiitake mushroom. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: I've really only seen it in the forest after the Ponizovje warehouse, the one you pass through after getting the key from Granin. - Mushroom C - Siberian Ink Cap - Description: A common brown mushroom. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: Pretty much anywhere you'd find Russian Oysters. - Mushroom D - Fly Agaric - Description: A distinct red mushroom that happens to be poisonous. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: None Where It's Found: I've found it in the area after The Sorrow and in Graniny Gorki South. - Mushroom E - Russian Glow Cap - Description: A bright green mushroom. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: Just about everywhere, but you can find them in the Chyomaya Peschera cave entrance after The Pain. - Mushroom F - Spatsa - Description: A gray, fairly uncharacteristic mushroom. However, it has a tendency to put anyone who eats it to sleep. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: These mushrooms can be found in the Svyatogornyj forest and the Sokrovenno forest. - Mushroom G - Baikal Scaly Tooth - Description: Another brownish mushroom. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: Svyatogornyj seems to be the easiest place to find it. 003.22 - Fruits - Fruit A - Yabloko Moloko - Description: A round red fruit that kind of looks like an apple. Taste: Bad Stamina Recovery: Low Where It's Found: Look up in the trees around Dremuchij or Sokrovenno. - Fruit B - Russian False Mango - Description: An oval green and yellow mango that's found growing on the ground. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: High Where It's Found: There's a patch of them in the Zaozyorje forest by the log bridge and another in the Chyomaya Peschera caves after The Pain. - Fruit C - Golova - Description: A large round fruit found in trees. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: High Where It's Found: Look up in the trees around Dremuchij or Sokrovenno. - Vine Melon - Description: A large melon that's found, as one would expect, on vines. Taste: Good Stamina Recovery: High Where It's Found: The Svyatogornyj forest 003.30 - Miscellaneous - Baltic Hornet's Nest - Description: A large hornet nest, just be careful to avoid being stung by its inhabitants. Taste: Very Good Stamina Recovery: Moderate Where It's Found: The most obvious answer here is in Dolinovodno by the bridge, since the game goes out of its way to point it out to you. - Calorie Mate - Description: A popular Japanese energy bar. Taste: Very Good Stamina Recovery: Very High Where It's Found: Primarily in food warehouses, but you'll occasionally find them in other buildings. - Instant Noodles - Description: Ramen noodles! Taste: Very Good Stamina Recovery: Very High Where It's Found: Primarily in food warehouses, but you'll occasionally find them in other buildings. 004.0 - Camouflage One of the new features to the Metal Gear Solid series in Snake Eater, along with hunting, was the addition of camouflage. Now, instead of having to hide under tables or in lockers, Snake would be able to blend in with his surroundings. Depending on how well you camouflage yourself, you can make the game either much easier or much more difficult. To switch camouflages, enter the Survival Menu and select the Camouflage option. After selecting which type you want to change - face paint or camouflage outfits - you'll see a list of all of your camos along with a number telling you how much your camo index will be affected. Obviously, you'll want to choose the camo that gives you the highest bonus in that area. 004.1 - The Camo Index The camo index is the number in the top right corner of the screen, and will tell you just how well hidden Snake currently is. Here's a quick list to give you an idea of what a certain index rating means. 100% - Snake is basically invisible; an enemy would literally have to walk into him before they'd see him. 99%-80% - With few exceptions, you normally won't be able to have a perfect camo index, but a rating above 80% is still incredibly good. As long as you don't draw any attention yourself, enemies can be about ten feet away and still won't be able to find you. 79%-70% - You're hidden, but if someone was really looking they'd be able to spot you. Be sure to be a little farther away from enemy soldiers than you would with a higher index rating. 69%-50% - You're hidden, just not very well. At first glance, an enemy would likely see something suspicious, but wouldn't be able to determine exactly what it was before closer inspection. 49%-20% - A rating in this area is not good, plain and simple. Enemies will have to be pretty far away not to spot you, so either find somewhere to hide, eliminate everyone in the area, or switch camos. 19%-0% - If you have an index rating in this range, be prepared to go into an alert. Enemy soldiers will have no problems spotting you at nearly any distance. |
