Please excuse my English if I made any error whatsoever during this FAQ. I'm also a typical person who works in the office, studies in the college and most importantly playing some of my favorite games. Currently this FAQ is close to completion and now playing the combat school to unlock any goodies the game has to offer, so contribute some FAQ that I miss out anything in particular by emailing me at cheahyuanhong@yahoo.com. In addition, any character respond does not really happen in the game. Metal Slug series has been one of my favorite games so far, even when there are better games with great graphic and 3D character. Metal Slug should be played in an arcade version with normal difficulties setting. People that play on easy mode will understand the enemy attack. This is also gives players to understand the enemy behavior. However. As a veteran Metal Slug, fans like any other goes to a challenging mode known as the Hard mode where the enemies will attack you even when they aren't suppose to. Even though Metal Slug 6 owns many people with never ending episode and all time favorite run-and-gun, Metal Slug 3 still rocks my world. In this series, several new characters, Slugs, and enemy came into play and introduce. The game also lets players to use a newer system that enable players to get more coins by killing and such. This can be count by the bar located at the lower left (1P) or lower right (2P). Other than the game play, several figure also available for the players to enjoy, such as the art gallery, which features the artwork done from the early days of the known famous Metal Slug as well as soundtrack that eventually kept on track from the first Metal Slug to Metal Slug 6 itself. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.Story so far ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Metal Slug 6 takes place right after a few weeks or so in Metal Slug 3 when the Martian needed Morden's man to bring their leader back, Rootmark from the deep in the ocean. When they manage to pull it out, a new breed of enemy attack Morden's men and some Martian turns to lunch. Morden's men along with the rest of the surviving Martian tries to escape the tragic event and station on several location as an outpost, building up weapons of mass destruction to fight this new invader. However, giving the fact that Morden is still alive after their last set back, the government wasn't too please with the results and ordered two war veterans, Clark Steel and Ralf Jones to join up the fight. Marco wasn't too please with this results, as both never once fight the likes of the Rebel Army before. Nevertheless, both joins up and continue to pursue Morden's activity and what seems to be the final showdown between the Regular Army and the Rebel Army before the enemy feared by Rebel and the Martian appears again. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.FAQ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Q. What's a Metal Slug? A. Many people asked this question from the start. It was suppose to be a joke to create a game which related to a slug, but it eventually turn into a tank that could crawl like a slug (hold down and directional key) Other than that, Metal Slug is one of the surviving game series in 2D which features several unforgettable arcade moment. Metal Slug 6 keeps it’s classic just as it is 10 years ago. Q. I can't do the Frontal Attack!! HELP! A. OHMYGOD, Calm down! Simple press the R1 button and your wish came true. Q. How do you do Ralf's special attack? A. Simple press up button and R2 button. This also works on Clark. Q. Why can't I perform this ability to the original characters? A. That because they can't silly. Q. Does the old glitch still there, popping out from the Slug and receives no damage? A. Yes, the old glitch is still there. SNK developers think that this glitch is actually useful, so they keep it. Q. How come I have to rescue the Martians in the final stage? A. They somehow got themselves imprison by the Unknown. Think of it as a prisoner. Q. What is this goofy looking vehicle I found in Mission 3? A. That’s the Slug Gunner in it's prototype stage. Although many refer as baby Gunner, It was officially a Slug Gunner during it's undergo experiment. Q. I heard about character penalties, is that true? A. Yes. Some characters such as Ralf is so powerful when he use his Vulcan Punch, so he's weapon stock is reduce by half. Q. Can any of the characters turn Invulnerable for some time, other than popping out from the Slug? A. None, but Clark somehow has this ability to remain Invulnerable when he perform his Argentina Backbreaker for at least 3 seconds while Ralf has the ability to return from the living from being hit once. Q. Which character do you like? A. I can't say. On Easy Mode, I like Fio and Marco and in Hard Mode, almost all the character is balance. Q. What kind of weapon do you prefer? A. Flame Shots. Too bad I can't use it on the final boss battle. Q. Which Slugs do you think is the coolest in Metal Slug 6? A. I could choose the Prototype Slug Gunner, but I like the Donkey Slug. Believe it. Q. ARGHH!! My weapon!! It just change to a weapon I don't like! A. Calm down, this happens to me once too. If you want the old weapon to stay, simple highlight it (or change in the weapon you want) and grab the other weapon. This way, the selected weapon won't be discarded. Q. I can't find anything useful about this new weapon SNK add in (Zangetsu sword) I think this weapon is a junk. A. Don't say that! Zangetsu Sword is extremely useful, especially later in the stage. The weapon can destroy energy shots like pistol shots or bazooka shots, and has the damage value of a shotgun, but hits multiple times than a single blast! SNK did a good job creating this weapon, so be proud of it! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.Controls ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SNK gives players the ability to configure the controller settings yourself, but here are the default Setting; Directional Pad - Run/Aim Cross - Jump/Cancel Circle - Change Weapon/Confirm Triangle - Grenade/Cannon Square - Fire/Vulcan L1 - Weapon Throw R1 - Frontal Attack R2 - Special Attack START - Pause Turn in to the classic mode like this; Directional Pad - Run/Aim Cross - Jump/Cancel Circle - Grenade /Cannon /Confirm Triangle - Change Weapon Square - Fire/Vulcan L1 - Weapon Throw R1 - Frontal Attack R2 - Special Attack START - Pause ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.Characters ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Each and every last character has their unique ability and advantage. This is also the first time SNK elaborate these unique feature in the Metal Slug universe. Other than the usual team, Clark and Ralf from the Ikari Warriors joins in the fun. Marco Rossi Specialty: Default weapon is stronger than normal Explanation: Marco's pistol weapon has the same damage as the Heavy machine gun, only slower and does not consume ammo (duh!). His Pistol power can make major difference in the game. Balance hero with lots of problem in his head. Best accompany with Tarma Tarma Roving Specialty: Double the damage done when controlling any Slug, increase armor and capable to activate Vulcan Fix. Explanation: Tarma has the ability to do more damage whenever he is inside the Metal Slug, reckless of any type. He only get average ammo at each weapon crate he collect. The main thing about Tarma is that he has the ability to take less damage whenever he is inside the Slug, more firepower and does more damage using the cannon option. Bring him along for a joy ride and see what I mean. Fio Germi Specialty: Double the supply and weapon crate, has Heavy Machine Gun from the start, pistol does less damage than normal. Explanation: Never thought Fio could be lucky to bring along a Heavy machine gun so early in almost every stage. She also gain double ammo whenever she picks up weapon crate and supply, but her Slug damage is something we shouldn't look forward too. In easy mode, she gain a SUPER heavy machine gun, and pack a lot of punches! This character is best accompany with Eri. Eri Kasamoto Specialty: Double grenade/bomb supply, can throw further/ above using the control pad. Explanation: Eri's a Demolition expert!! She gets double the grenade supples, throws further and does more damage with each throws. too bad it didn't enable the same strength in the Slug. Eri may deliver a short blow with her weapon arsenal, but let her take all the grenade in the game and let loose the bouncing green stick on her enemy, or to a hapless boss. Clark Steel Specialty: Does an Argentine Backbreaker stunts that gives Clark 1000 points and double the point at each kills, gain a momentary invulnerability while doing the SAB. Explanation: Clark Steel from the Ikari warriors make a tribute in Metal Slug 6. His Argentine Backbreaker can kill almost all organic enemy with a single attack (except Martians and zombie, don't try it) His ability to tackle all infantry gives him points like crazy. His Slug however is a pushover, does less damage than normal. Try doing an Argentine BackBreaker stunt and watch him do a cool posing. Oh, did I mention he turns invulnerable for a short while when he does it? Ralf Jones Specialty: Does a Vulcan Punch that damage almost all ground unit. Can take two hits, fastest melee character in the game, enhance damage for Zangetsu sword. Explanation: Ralf, like Clark came from the same game, fight together and even enter the King of Fighters tournament. Ralf has an unusual ability to turn his fist into a short range Heavy machine gun that does TONS of damage. It kills tanks, Martians, Morden's men, bosses (O.O) and even the new alien that came straight at him dies with just a couple of hits. Ralf also has a 'second' life that brings him back to the living (O.O). The worst thing about Ralf is that his ability to use weapon crate ammo and grenade supply is limited by half! His best accompany with Clark Steel ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.Character Match-up ----------------------------------------------------------------------- In two player mode, characters with stats are hard to understand, but matching them with the right partner will strengthen their rank and lower their disadvantage. Come up with a partner of your own, but these are recommended for team play. Marco and Tarma, Metal Slug Classic As the name applied, these dual heroes are the best matching team. While Marco's strength lies on his handgun, Tarma help his partner by using the Slug. In the hand of a veteran gamers, these two will last long enough to fight the final boss without continues and lost of life. Concentrate fire is recommended. Mission Achieve: 90% Eri and Fio, Sparrow Special Think about it, have Fio pick up all the weapon crate and let Eri pick up all the grenade in the game and let loose all of it in sheer destruction. These two country girls aren't here to play, their here to kick someone's nut. They could out last long enough though, but may have problems in the Final Mission stage when weapon and grenade are used sparingly. Mission Achieve: 85% Ralf and Clark, Ikari Warriors Classic Is it just me, or does this dual heroes here have a fair advantage over one another? Ralf will be useless using all the weapon in the game except Zangetsu sword and his Vulcan Punch does massive damage on armored units, which powers up Ralf attack by double. Clark however goes invulnerable whenever he uses his SAB and an excellent choice in Final Mission, although not many are effected by his attack. Have Clark handle the weapon and grenade while Ralf take control over the Slug. With practice, these two will survive, and perhaps bringing their gold medal at the next King of Fighter series. Mission Achieve: 79%-90% Marco and Fio, Lovebirds Came up this idea during Metal Slug 3 gameplay and tested on this game. This tag team actually covers up Fio's pistol damage using Marco's help while Fio provide long stream of endless supply of weaponry for covering fire on Marco's side. They might lose some lives once or twice though. Mission Achieve: 79% Tarma and Eri, Geek Shady and the Bomb Queen Also came up from Metal Slug 3, Tarma and Eri could rule this game if only there is enough weapon for both of them. Tarma may need protection from Eri until he gets a Slug, but both already has average damage value over one another. In truth, they rule the Final Mission stage, but before they reach Final stage, they may have to team up together once for a while. Mission Achieve: 89% ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 7.Enemies ----------------------------------------------------------------------- In the Metal Slug game franchise, there is only one thing that stands in your way before you reach the boss fights, and thats soldiers, Martian and the likes. These enemies will give you trouble as you proceed but remember, they won't last long before you reach their boss, as long as you survive and hopefully not being killed. Grunt This guys a pushover; they are arm with knife and grenades, laid mines and launch a Chinese-like rocket, nothing more. They tend to be troublesome in numbers though, so don't be overwhelm by their mass number of grunt. Shield Grunt They aren't as agile as the grunt, but they have are armed with pistol and a sword. They tend to back up other grunt to work together and their shield is powerful enough to stop a laser gun to pass through. Consider them as a medium grunt that has a low melee speed. Bazooka Grunt Same as shield grunt, but they have enough firepower and loading time to react depends on your action. Bazooka Grunt is a major threat in numbers, but a pushover as a lone wolf. Have them killed first before attacking the other lesser grunt. This one is consider high priority. Rifle Grunt This Grunt is your average, fully train grunt with a bolt rifle in hand. They sometimes take cover from tanks, gaps and even perform a melee hit for close counters. In numbers, they are life threating enemies. Mortar Grunt This grunt, like any other lesser grunt aren't so powerful alone, but with a few and accompany by shield, bazooka and normal grunt masses together is a real threat. They trade their mobility and defense for range and power. Heavy Grunt Appears just after the final stage, they are slow to react and pretty stupid as well, but they wield out lots of bullets in a single burst. Missile Tank (without spikes) This armored units once have it's spikes on, for some reason they ran out of spikes. They still fire a slow, homing missile that homes into you. This armored unit is weak, so simple apply a handgun will do. Tower Tank The Tower tank is much like a tank with two-stories high and fires a slow moving cannon ball. This tank is useless, but dangerous when grouped together with random enemies. Light Tank A gray tank that serve it's purpose to simple annoy you. They have a decent firepower and armor, but their cannon is very slow. Counter it with a hailstorm of bullets or a couple of grenade. Medium Tank This brownish tank has better armor, fires fireballs, and very, very slow firing time. This armored unit seldom has grunts and bazooka grunts together. MLRS Tank This vehicles fires extremely heavy projectile missile and bettered armored, but aren't so great while on the move. This unit is toast when a character is near this vehicle. Combat Copter a.k.a. Little bird Morden's own air support. This little copter takes time to fire their weapon, but they intend to confuse players whenever it fires at random or horizontally. This can be taken out just enough bullets stuck in their hole. Apache This is a oversize combat copter and does the bombing run as you go. It also uses a projectile rockets that homes in to you. Take it out and you'll be fine Combat Jeep (With mounted Machine gun) A conventional Jeep that had been modified to attack and ram any opponent or hostel enemy. They're speedy and has decent armor, but their attack and moves are predictable. Villager These villagers somehow inherit Ralf's ability to survive after being shot. They aren't as tough, but in numbers, they can slice you for all they care. Take them out by afar, or simple let Ralf and Clark do their things. Flying Piranha The least enemy you would expect to see again from Metal Slug 3 is the flying menace itself, the flying piranha. They are weak and easily dealed with, only an idiot would simple ignore them. Martian This octopus-like creature with a gun is the Martian. They made a tribute in both Metal Slug 2 and 3. They sometimes attack with yellow homing goo that can be destroyed with a single shot. They also fires blue, speedy projectile, enough speed to kill you. They are your average opponent. UFO The flying little plate that homes in on you is known as a UFO. This pesky unit can kill you with their laser and has a decent defense against firearm. This thing tends to go out hunting you in numbers. Unknown Alien This humanoid is the main enemy from the entire Metal Slug 6 series. Their head is bigger than average human and like to eat fresh Martians. They can puke out worms that self-destruct, attack you from afar and do a bouncing/rolling attack. They even explode into chucks of worms in the final stage. Consider them as Martians on steroids Parasite Red, flying unknown alien here is what we known as a parasite. These things can kill your character no matter how resistant they are. They can also control civilian and turn them into mindless zombies. Luckily, you can only kill the host and won't take more than three shots. Flying Unknown Alien These things are the same as the first Unknown Alien, except that it grows wings to take flight and puke out small, slow energy ball. Eye Alien An alien, who has only one eye to look at you, puking some bubble that is harmful to your health. They have better armor and quite dangerous, even when they are alone fighting you. They are lethal whenever they are grouped together with other alien breed. Spider Alien Tank This four-legged creep is like a tank that can't crush you. It does two things. One, It fires a two plasma artillery energy ball towards you. And if you fight from afar, this thing will fire out a Drop Shot version. They have the same defense as a Medium Tank has. Unknown Mini-UFO Unknown driving a UFO, the same as the Martian did. But compare to Martian, their craft are weaker than you could imagine. It fires many energy shots though. Alien Craft a.k.a. Unidentified Energy Object Instead of a UFO, we have a UEO! This ship gathers meteors, spare parts, junks and fish (That's right, fish!) as a weapon and toss it one by one or all together to you. They have better armor than Unknown Mini- UFO and sometimes fires volley of hot needles. Consider the Little birds. Pulverizes Can't come up a good name for this red-orange alien in the final stage. This alien is slow, but it can fly by and forming it's leg and propel it like a helicopter. Once on sight, it drops like a rock, effectively killing you. They appears to be social-like aliens, and aren't too happy to see you. Deflectors Green, oversize alien-like tank that fires small beam ball with slow speed at random height. They are annoying enemies and tend to attack you from both sides. They also project a huge laser beam that rotates slowly to you and absorb anything you shot at. They have better armor than their Spider Alien Tank. Alien Ant This Alien appears underground when you dig your way downward. They are annoying and has a average armor. But they can get serious when they are near you. Red Unknown Alien These are an 'elite' type of Unknown you'll encounter in Final Stage. they are better armored and handgun has little effect to simple ignore them. Fire as fast as you can by killing them with Shotgun, Zangetsu sword, Laser or Duel Machine Gun. Killing them before they attack will wield out normal points, try your best to kill them whenever they attack you, which wield out 10000 Points! Mother Eye Huge, freaking Eye Alien's mama. They are invulnerable to all weapons on their bodies, but no defense on their eyes. This thing kept on firing seeds of doom to you and sometimes accompanied by the unknown alien. They can take a lot of punishment before going down. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 8.Weapons ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The saying ' your weapon is your best friend ' is best descript as something you shouldn't done in real life. The saying ' we only fire when fired upon ' is also not true in this game. So, let see what our old armory has and try to hit something with it on Morden's men, Martian and the likes. SNK did a good job building a new system as well, so carrying two weapons along with your everyday handgun is unique. Each weapon will be discard if you ran out of ammunition or if you picked up a newer weapon. So remember, guns don't kill people, we do. Pistol/ Magnum Damage value: * Your bread-and-butter weapon of choice. Has infinite ammo and does half the damage done by a Heavy Machine Gun. This weapon can be used almost all situation, from fighting against horde of men to boss battle. Heavy Machine Gun Damage Value: ** This weapon has been in this game for over 10 years, and it is still the balance weapon used. Heavy Machine Gun does twice the damage done by a Pistol and can fire almost all directions. The main floss is that it consumes a lot of ammo just by a single bust. This weapon is all-purpose type arsenal. Rocket Launcher Damage Value: *** The weapon used to clear mass numbers of infantry and armored tanks. Does a splash damage as well. This weapon has very little homing device, but packs it all into speed and raw power. Use at your own risk, as it has a major cool down at each two shots it fires. Flame Shot Damage Value: ***** Your typical Flamethrower on steroids, this weapon can incinerated almost anything, and can be used to cook your foes to crispy perfection as well. Devastating damage, but it's short range gives a little weapon less effective against opponent that had you pin down. Use this weapon during an emergency only, or simple torch the entire army with it. Shotgun Damage Value: **** The same weapon as the Flame Shot, but no splash damage, just an impact sound of bone crashing and bodies flung from one side to another. This weapon can be your friend AND foe. In short, this is a great weapon to clear unwanted path and get rid of the entire enemy in front of you. It also takes at least 3 second cool down at each shots, making it difficult to use when both front and back screen starts to overflow by enemy. Laser Gun Damage Value: *** An enhanced version of Heavy Machine Gun. It's raw power can cut through anything it touches, and destroys armored units like a breeze. This weapon has floss though, like the machine gun it consume it's ammo like mad, bursting out 4-5 ammo straight. Unlike the machine gun, it also takes a lot of time to kill the shield grunt, even though this weapon can cut through armored units like cutting butter with a burning chainsaw. Keep this weapon for last, as this weapon is an ideal arsenal against bosses. Drop Shot Damage Value: *** The bouncing bomb that... er bounce on the ground. This weapon is perhaps the oddest weapon created by SNK. Like it's sidekick Iron Lizard, this weapon is not always good against ground units, but it has a small splash damage. It also bounce towards the enemy before it hit something or explode on it's own. Like the Rocket Launcher, it has a major cool down after three Drop Shot is fired. Iron Lizard Damage Value: *** This weapon is an anti-ground weapon used to target infantries, tanks, Martians, and the likes, massive splash damage that hit even at the far rear of a battalion. For a weapon that hit almost all ground units, it also can be used to shoot up as an emergency. It's fast and lethal, and an ideal weapon against mass number of foes. Enemy Chaser Damage Value: ** This is like Rocket Launcher on steroids, it's fast, no cool down, little splash damage, random targeting sensor and absolutely ridiculous damage value. This weapon trade of it's damage to homing capability, which it zero in towards the enemy. This weapon can also be used to find and locate hidden prisoner or hidden items. Not an ideal weapon against boss. Super Grenade Damage Value: ***** Super Grenade is like a pump up version of the standard grenade that shoots straight. It's massive power over armored tanks are something to believe at. No vehicles can withstand it's raw power not more than two hits. This weapon is so devastating that it only has 20 ammo or so, enough to send soldiers flying from one end to another, destroys uninsured enemy armored tanks and boss battle turn short as it constantly being hit by it. Dual Machine Gun Damage Value: **** Heavy Machine Gun's greater cousin. This weapon is the powerhouse version of Heavy Machine Gun, doubles the ammo capacity and feared by many. Like its lesser cousin, it is also ammo consumer, up to 8 ammo! Unlike it's lesser cousin though, it can't fire all the direction you want. Use this weapon on heated battle and boss fights. BIG Heavy Machine Gun Damage Value: *** A beefup version of Heavy Machine Gun. It's better powered and improve damage, but like it's previous incantations, this weapon still has a few floss. This weapon is rare and available in Mission 4-2, Slug path. BIG Rocket Launcher Damage Value: **** A beefup version of Rocket Launcher. It fires a gigantic missile that can damage anything before and after impact. It's large splash damage is awesome, but like it's incantation, this weapon still has a few floss. This weapon is rare and available in Final Mission BIG Shotgun Damage Value: ***** A beefup Version of Shotgun. This weapon is so powerful that it can take out almost anything in front. Massive damage and included a splash damage, but it's ammo useage is something to be believe at. Like it's incantation, this weapon still has a few floss. A rare item found in Final Mission BIG Laser Gun Damage Value: ***** A beefup Version of Laser Gun, or perhaps the most powerful weapon found. This is so powerful that it can take out Red Unknown Alien faster than Duel Machine gun could. It's power over mechanical unit is also an unbelieveable. This rare weapon is found in Mission 4-2, Slug path but like before, the BIG Laser Gun has a few floss similar to the normal Laser Gun. Zangetsu sword Damage Value: **** For some reason SNK wanted to use this arsenal as a weapon of mass destruction. Well, we read ya SNK for this weapon happens to be as useful as it looks later in the stage. This weapon has the same damage as the Shotgun blast, only it deals multiply damage than a single blast. Use this weapon against armored unit and cut it to tiny scrap metal is nice, but having a limited range means you need to get near it and only attack vertically. Capable to block energy shots and when the meter goes max, Zangetsu sword will unleash wave after wave of coins on enemy vehicle with each strike. Absolutely NOT an ideal weapon against boss, but an excellent weapon on the mid-boss battle. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 9.Grenades ----------------------------------------------------------------------- In the Metal Slug series, grenades are your friend whenever you need to clear a certain path or just to lower the boss down. This bounding green stick will help you out, and will always replenish each stage. Or in other case, if you die. SNK provide only 2 types of grenade from the original Metal Slug and Metal Slug 2, namely Grenade and Firebomb Grenade Damage Value: **** This is your typical grenade with awesome power. It has a massive splash damage, bounds a couple of times and powerful enough to kill anything most average armored units appears in front of you. This is your most used weapon and perhaps an ideal weapon against bosses. Firebomb Damage Value: ***** This weapon was introduce in Metal Slug 2 and boy, does it come hot. Although this weapon doesn't bounds (this weapon is made out of glass, so basically it can't bound) but if the weapon is hit by solid ground, it will create a momentary firestorm, perfectly to kill (or burn) any unit that is foolishly jump in it. This weapon also has a awesome splash damage and easily the most useful weapon by fan demands. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 10.Vehicles(Slugs) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Vehicles are not an essential to the game, but it's a what their here for. Metal Slug and the rest of the armored unit are there for the heroes to ride in, giving a major boost on defense, firepower and raw power. Some of these vehicles are available during the boss fight and some do not. Here's some of it; Metal Slug The original Super Vehicle 001 a.k.a Metal Slug still makes a tribute in the game. These things serve as the backbone for the entire game, since it's the only vehicles named after a slug (huh?) in the first series. The Metal Slug has 360 degree firing angle, a powerful cannon and an average speed, nice defense and easily the best vehicles in the past 10 years. Donkey Slug (With Cannon Convoy) Okay, whose idea was it to have a donkey-mounted Vulcan? This thing is so slow; it compares the Elephant Slug on a low perspective. Like the Elephant Slug, this unit is slow moving and exposing you. One unlucky hit and bam! there goes your life. Good thing is that the Donkey Slug has a VERY powerful 360 degree Vulcan equipped, thank god! Did you know that when you use a frontal attack, the convoy wield out coins upon destruction? Slug Gunner (Prototype) Believe it or not, this vehicle found in Mission 3 under the sewer is actually the prototype of our once powerful Slug Gunner. Even when this vehicle is still a prototype, it can move faster and jump higher than the Gunner could, 180 firing degree angle and has a build in Vulcan Fix, but having a hero expose is something bad though. It also hate to turn, taking it's time turning to the right direction. Weaker than it's fully completed one, but pack with surprising moment. Who would have wondered the Slug Gunner was so useful even in its prototype stage? Slug Flyer The classic Slug fighter and it haven't even change a bit. It has a 90-degree firing angle and a cool all-purpose missile. Like the Metal Slug, this vehicle is not entirely invulnerable. It does however hover depending your movement on you control pad. It's frontal attack is much powerful though, think of it as a kamikaze vehicle with steroids in it. This Slug can't attack at it's rear end however. Drill Slug Do not be confuse by the Slug Driller, this Slug main function is to dig it's way underground. Seeing that this vehicle is good, it has it's floss. One, the drill does no damage on enemy and two, the grenade it launches are hard to control. With practice, this Slug could be your friend. Try and used it to find a treasure next time. Super Metal Slug No, this Metal Slug can't fly nor it is invulnerable. Super Metal Slug appears red or orange in color and has a very powerful Vulcan, firing cannon with forceful blast and jump higher as well, minus the recoil. Just imagine that this Metal Slug hasn't been given a good treatment lately and had lotsa steroids on it. Found in the final stage. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 11.Tips on Beat-the-crap-out-of-Metal Slug 6 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Know your enemy. While many people know the Rebel and Martian attack tactic, many player, newbie and veteran alike always let themselves been killed. Avoid this from happening at all times 2.Note that SNK is generously gives players the ability to set up high score by killing and filling the lower meter full for extra points. 3.Some weapons, such as Duel Machine Gun or Flame Shot are rare, so don't waste it on normal foes, keep that weapon until you absolutely need it. 4.The Metal Slug glitch is still there, but majority of us forget about it and even complain about it. For those who is new, simple press down on the control pad and jump button. The Slug will take no damaged during this act and the character you control remain invulnerable until he lands. 5.Check the map location throughly, you may need to recall if there is a hidden item or prisoner in the area. 6.Zangetsu Sword is perhaps your only weapon used against Mid-boss battle in the Final Mission. Keep as many as you can, as it's damage value is well earn to those who keep it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 12.Walkthrough ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Complete walkthrough and with no hidden prisoner been reveal, it covers a lot of stages and boss fights. This game is played on HARD difficulties and yes, it covers final mission as well. Also, I will try and cover the character's tactic and advantage on the walkthrough. For hidden prisoners, please refer to Prisoner Location below this FAQ. (Under Construction) ================================================= Mission 1 Difficulties: Walk in the Park Character Advantage: The Lot. Character Disadvantage: None ================================================= Ahhh, The Metal Slug Theme song for MS6 is back and better. You arrive on a rural area where you will be spotted by a grunt as you move forward, attack the grunt and more will come. A Prisoner there will give you your first weapon, Heavy Machine gun. Move forward and you'll arrive at the enemy outpost. This is where the fun begins. Shoot anything non friendlies and a truck loaded with grunt will join the fun. Attack the truck to free the prisoner inside, giving you a Rocket Launcher. Use it and cause some mayhem on the shield grunt. There are two crate as well, bomb supply and an Enemy Chaser. Pick both up, as more grunt and armored vehicles will join the fun. Once you clear the mess, move forward until the tower armored vehicles appears. Use your pure classic attack on this vehicles. Oh, remember to retaliate the grunt at the back as well. Move forward until you reach the river, saving another hostage and fight more grunt, mortar grunt, and shield grunt. An Apache will greet you at the river, giving you presents that you refuse to take. Take it out for a love letter it gives you. Move forward, rescuing 2 more prisoner, killing grunt and 1 more prisoner that has a Heavy Machine Gun. By the time you have equipped that weapon, a Morden's Centipede Convoy will appear, moving from one screen to the other. Try and destroy all of the segments and free the Metal Slug while your at it. If you destroy all of the segments, coins will wield out. LOTSA coins! Marco and Tarma: Coins For All! Fio and Eri: Shopping Spree!! Ralf, looking at Clark: Why are we hooking up with these guys again? Move forward and you'll be arriving at a cliff side. Kill more grunt and save another prisoner, this time he wield out an Iron Lizard. Use the Slug or Iron Lizard and fight off the grunt. Right now, you should have to fight a combat copter with no problem at all, rescue another prisoner for a Heavy Machine Gun. After the area is secured, you have a choice to go up or move forward. The choice is your. Route A Marco: Forward, march! Ralf and Tarma: On it! Moving forward. There you will be block by a huge gate. Destroy the gate and kill the bats as well. You will spot a prisoner been eaten alive by a bunch of bats with a Mortar grunt and a single tank guarding the area. Kill it and rescue that Prisoner. This prisoner wield out what you've been waiting for. A Flame Shot! Move forward and there will be another three more prisoners ahead. When you rescue them, the grunt will appear, attacking you with all the strength they have. Waste them using the Metal Slug or invite them for a barbecue festival using the Flame Shot. I recommend you save the Flame Shot for last though. Once all the grunt lay down and disappears, move forward until you see a prisoner and a lone tank guarding the area. Waste that tank and destroy the gate, enters your first boss battle Route B Tarma, driving the Metal Slug: Who's idea was it to take the high road!? Fio and Eri: Get out from the Slug then! Jump up according to the ledges. This isn't pretty, as shield grunt, bazooka grunt and normal grunt cornered you. Your Slug might be hit once or twice, so be sure to kill the bazooka grunt first, normal grunt and finally shield grunt. Work your way up until you see four prisoners hold up just at the peak. Carefully release them and rescue all of them. One of them has a Heavy Machine Gun crate (Re-joys!). When you rescue these prisoners, an armored vehicle appears and starts to attack you. Retaliate it and move forward where several parachute bazooka grunt and combat copter appear, giving another opportunity to kill you. When the entire enemy does their free fall, continue going up until you reach the summit, move forward until you reach the entrance. You will perform a free fall here, scaring the shit out of the two grunts. Shoot anything that worth the points, including bats, and more prisoners. There is also a Gas tank, boosting your weary Metal Slug and a wonderful weapon crate, Super Grenade! When you approach the weapon crate, more grunts and tanks will come inviting you to their prison. Simple say no and kill everything non friendlies. Move forward to you first boss battle. Marco: Hey, that boss looks familiar... Tarma: OhmygoditsourSlugDriller! Other characters: Pardon? ======================================================================= BOSS BATTLE ONE MASTER DRILLER Suitable Weapon: Heavy Machine Gun, Super Grenade, Flame Shot, Rocket Launcher. Is it just me, or is this some sort of joke? This boss isn't worth your penny, but they make havoc on the surface, might as well destroy it. Morden must have come up with this from the Slug Driller. No matter. Time to stop this machine once and for all!! 1st Form attack: Raise shield up, releasing some sort of Iron Lizard. Destroying it will wield out random weapon crate, bomb supply. Long range artillery blast, fires gigantic Stones from their machine's upper hole. 2nd Form attack: Fires gigantic Stones from their machine's upper hole, Massive Driller that sometimes fires out it's drill, similar to Drill Cannon from the Slug Driller. This is ridiculous, Morden copy everything the Metal Slug team once has! This boss has an Iron Lizard, Stone and even the Drill cannon! His first form is as weak as hell, just fire volley after volley of firepower is enough. Watch out for their intimidating Iron Lizard though. When a grunt pop out on to of the shield, get yourself some covering ground! After you destroy the shield, a huge oversize drill will appear and remember to stay away from it, as it sometimes starts to drill when you approach it. It also splits out Stones from above, thank goodness it's slow though, and evading it is easy. However, don't leave the stone where it is, as the Master Driller will use its Drill Cannon. If you still have the Metal Slug, simple attack with your eyes close (No, seriously. ATTACK with your eyes close.) and watch the monster go down in less than a minute. Mission 1 Complete! Results from the characters; Marco: Easy as pie. Tarma: Owned once I got the Slug. Eri: Pushover, where's my remaining grenade? Fio: Geez, I still have ammo left. Clark: That thing is heavy too lift, but got it down. Ralf: Vulcan Punch anyone? ======================================================================= Total number of prisoner found: 25 ======================================================================= ======================================================================= Mission 2 Difficulties: Boot Camp, Office work. Character Advantage: Ralf, Clark, Marco, Eri, Fio. Character Disadvantage: Tarma, Clark and Ralf (second phase and boss fights) ======================================================================= Wow, this mission theme song is the remix from the first Metal Slug game, mission 2. You arrive what appears to be a village ruled by Morden's men and its villagers aided them. When you land, a single villager will greet you with his kitchen knife with his partner down at the dock with a dynamite. Put him down and his friend and rescue your first prisoner. Move forward and you'll see your next prisoner, but the villager wanted him too. Kill them and even more villager came along, joining the fun. Move forward and get the Laser gun below deck, with a ammo crate from the one of the two prisoner ahead. Kill the villager first before going towards the MLRS tank. Dispose it and move forward for your next prisoner, who happens to have a firebomb. Waste the flying piranha and a couple of villager, move forward and get another laser and ammo crate. Tarma: Is it just me, or did I just saw a UFO? Marco, Eri and Fio: de' javu? When you reach the end of the screen, destroy the gate to proceed, but the villager wouldn't let you, so try and survive the onslaught before tackling the gate. Ralf: This is where I'll show my technique to EVERYONE! Vulcan Punch!! Fio: Eat Laser creep! Eri: Barbecue anyone? Tarma and Marco: Me, me!! Clark: One little, two little, three little rag doll (Does an Argentine Backbreaker all the way) Once you pass the gate, you'll approach a single prisoner, wielding a Drop Shot, and the 2 Martian came down greeting the Metal Slug team. Clark: On my God, Martians! We're under attack! Martians: Hello earthling, we come in peace. Marco: Oh, that’s good then, so no...fighting? (sees Clark pull out a knife and kill both of them) Ralf: Friends of yours? Tarma: We're so dead. Yes, dead as ever, more forward and free another prisoner, wielding out a Flame Shot. Roast the Martians that appear both front and back screen before moving on. There you will see a Donkey Slug with a grunt appears to try to steal it. Fio: Who the hell send in the Donkey? Marco: I was told there were sending the Metal Slug, but they had to abandon that request. Eri: Why? Marco: HQ saids a Donkey will do fine, which they did. Tarma, riding the Donkey Slug: It's slower than a god damn Elephant Slug!! I want my money back!! Yes again, a donkey, equipped with a Vulcan, a VERY powerful Vulcan. Use it and travel forward, and more UFO came down, raining laser at you. Deal with it and it will go away. Don't forget the prisoner too. As you move forward, you might spot the cannon convoy, as you will arrive what seems to be a very small outpost, with the grunt looking for an intruder. Greet him with the Vulcan and enter the outpost, having the convoy attach to the donkey. There is Rocket Launcher in the crate and two prisoners, one of them will give you a new weapon, the Zangetsu Sword Fio: Sonic What? In no time, the bazooka grunt from both sides will appear, followed by a flood of grunts, armored tanks and Martians. Try to survive it and move forward. A single prisoner, Hyakutaro will help you as you progress the next segment of the outpost. You'll spot four prisoner, one of them has a bomb supply which is good for either the donkey or Eri. As you move on, more grunt and bazooka grunt will attack you. Be warn though as the grunt is now seriously want you dead, pulling out their knife to kill you. As you fight on, Martians and UFO joins the fight, followed by more bazooka grunt, medium tanks, Martians and UFO, a wonderful display of violent and explosion all into one screen. Clark: It's like World War 2 already! Marco: Hey, we eat this kind of things for breakfast. After all that, the door is good for the taking, you can use the frontal attack to destroy the convoy, wielding out precious coins all the way for your trouble. Tarma: No!! My donkey!! Yes!! Money!! Or simple attack the gate with full force. Either way, the donkey stays behind for your second boss fight. Tarma: No!! My Donkey!! I Want My Donkey!! Eri: Get this guy a pony. ======================================================================= BOSS BATTLE TWO MONORAIL TANK Suitable weapon: Laser Gun, Heavy Machine Gun, Flame Shot, Rocket Launcher The tank that went out of control, speeding down the hill exceeding our laws speed limit and the entire team have to destroys in on it's lower deck. To make matters worse, this boss even wield out lots of rockets traveling vertically at random location. Try your best to fire the huge turret and evade/destroy the missile. 1st Form Attack: Launches a hell lot of rockets, launches tomahawk missiles, side turrets. 2nd Form Attack: Flak attack, Gigantic Missile attack. Here's the rules, the 1st form is a monster, it will launches multiple rockets that goes vertically from one screen to the next, launches it's tomahawk missile at you and pulling out it's side turret. These attacks appear to be random. When you see that if it starts to launch multiply attack at once, that means it's close to it's death. Attack the Giant turret and defend yourself from all the threat it uses. And remember, Heavy Machine gun is your friend here. Flame Shot also helps very down this tank, including the laser gun. Just as the 1st form is destroyed, get ready for the lord of pain. The upper turret slides back and reveal a giant missile silo, launching towards the sky with it's flak. Unfortunately, the missile appears to be heavy and starts to fall |
