1.2 The World of Persona 4

The world of Persona 4 takes place 2 years after Persona 3's
universe. The game is focused on a more rural area instead of
the city. Persona 4 makes traveling much easier compare to Persona 3,
by pressing the square button, it can give you the function
to instanty move to another area.

Yasogami High School
=========================================================
This is the school of our Protagonist. The school is build in with
two buildings. The Classroom Building and the Practice Building.
Classrooms can be found in the Learning Building, while all
Clubs can be found in the Practice Building.

There is a billboard that post all exam marks.
Yukiko, Rise, Ai and Naoto can be found on this floor.

Bus Stop: The Bus Stop allows your character to travel to another

Yomenaido Bookstore: The Book Shop sells a particular magazine each
month, which helps you to increase your status parameter.
Blue Door: Leads you to the Velvet Room.
Daidara Metal Works: This is the location where you would find all your
weapons for sale. Unlike Persona 3,  you will need to sell the materials
you have collected before the Weapon Shop will offer new stock.
Marukyu Tofu: You will come here for Rise's plot arc.
Shiroku Store: Sells healing items, and other items for dungeon use.
There is also a Capsule Machine that use up a day of your time to
get misc items.
Shopping District, North

Souzai Daigaku: You can buy snacks from here.
Chinese Diner Aiya: The Ramen Shop has either the 800 Yen deal
(Increases Courage) or on rainy days it will have the 3000 Yen special,
which increase 3 random status parameters.
Town Bulletin Board: In order to get jobs you need to look at the Billboard.
Tatsuhime Shrine: You can accept requests from Fox for the Hermit SLink.
Tatsumi Textiles: You will come here for Kanji's plot arc.
Mailbox: You can mail in 3 Prize Sticker (From Shopping Network) for a prize.
Konishi Liquors: There's a vending machine near this shop.

This is your room, and it contains everything you need to build your Status
Parameters. You can check all the magazines you have purchase on the sofa.
You also could study by examining your desk, check the  work table for all the
part time jobs you have applied to. By checking the TV it will give you the
option for Weather Forecast,  "Midnight Channel"(AKA Mayonaka TV in JP Version)
and as you progress through the game Tanaka Shopping Channel will be available
every sunday.

different. Our main character recently moved from the city to live with
his Uncle. A transfer student at Yasogami High School, he quickly becomes
friends with Chie, Yukiko and Yosuke upon encountering them. He starts with
the Persona Izanagi.

become friends.  Yosuke starts with Persona Jiraiya, which eventally evolves
into Susanoo.

One of the first friends the Main Character befriends with. She is an

Yosuke over a Jackie Chan DVD (* Trial of the Dragon on US version). Her
biggest fear is that  she is living under Yukiko's shadow. She eventally
gets her own Persona, Tomoe Gozen, which eventually evolves into Suzuka
Gongen.

Rise used to be one of the more popular idols in Japan. In Persona 4
she is first seen on an advertisement at the start of the game, but for
unknown reasons, Rise quit her job and transfered to Yasogami High
School as a freshman. When Rise's is trapped in Midnight Channel, it is
determined she is most afraid of being treated like a sex symbol. When
Teddie becomes playable, Rise will be the support character from then on.

Gameplay Basics

Velvet Room
========================
In certain locations of the game, you can find a blue door, and by
entering, you'll be transported into the Velvet room. Inside the Velvet Room,
you can speak to Igor for Persona Fusions and other Persona request.
Social Links
========================
Social Links is the bond between you and your friends. Each friend is assorted
to a certain arcana of tarots. The rank increase as you spend more time with
them. As the rank increases, Social Links will provide your persona with more
bonus Exp upon fusioning. For Party members, Social Links will grant them
more abilites as the Social Link become stronger.
Inside Midnight Channel (Mayonaka TV JP version)
========================
When you are inside the Midnight Channel, you are given the choice to enter
a dungeon by speaking to Teddie (Then Rise for the later parts of the story).
Each dungeon have a fixed set of floor that is randomized upon each visit.
Inside the dungeon, you can encounter Shadows to initiate a fight. The
Shadows are caterogize as black, purple and gold. Black Shadows are normal
enemies, (However if their size is bigger, it means they are in big groups).
Purple Shadows are enemies that have a higher average level then the enemies
on that floor. Gold Shadows is actually a Gold Hand enemy. The Gold Shadows
usually run away quickly in battle, but leave a fair amount of Yen and a
Chest key when defeated.
Battle
========================
When you initiate a fight, you are given a set of commands on your action.
HP- Hit Points, The amount of life you have.
SP- Spirit Points, The currency used for spellcasting.
Analysis- Your support unit will analyse the enemy's status and weakness.
Tactics - Change the actions of your party members.(Party members are default to
AI controlled. You have to change the tactic for them to be control.
Guard   - Reduces damage and prevent your character from being knocked down by
Weakness.
Attack  - Standard physical attack.
Persona - (Main Character only) Switch Personas
Skills  - Use skills. (Skills are from your Persona)
Physical skills requires HP to be used.
Item    - Use items from your inventory
Escape  - Your support unit will help your party escape from battle
(*Requires a few turns)
Rush    - When you press the triangle button, the Rush command is set on, which
will fast forward the game and have all character set on attack.
**Remember if the Main Character is KO in battle, game over.

Gameplay Changes from Persona 3
=========================================================
Persona 4 plays very similar to Persona 3, and most people will have no problem
adapting the gameplay if you have played Persona 3 before. In this section,
I've included most of the changes that have affected the gameplay in Persona 4.
Event
=========================================================
The Social Links (Commu in JP Version) system is still in this game, but
unlike Persona 3, Social Links Ranks can now increase the Efficiency of
your party members in battle.
The game now includes a weather system.
You no longer you need to go to dungeons at night, as all dungeon activity
is now done after school.
This game has added 2 new status parameters, "Expression" and "Understanding".
Request are no longer made from the Velvet room, as all requests are
acquired by talking to NPCs.
Magaret (replacement for Elizabeth) will ask for Persona Fusion
requests only.
People trapped in Midnight Channel(dungeon related) must be saved
before the next foggy day (usually 2 weeks).
You must find clues about the victim after watching the Midnight Channel
before you can enter the dungeon again.
Dungeons
=========================================================
Unlike Persona 3, in Persona 4 There are now multiple dungeons each with
their own distinct feature.
The fatigue system from Persona 3 is now removed, however HP & SP is
no longer restore when you return to the entrance, as it is now
restore by paying a certain fee to Fox (really expensive),
Which is available when Kanji's dungeon is unlock.
Access points are no longer available. In order to leave
a dungeon, you wil need to either walk all the way back to entrance,
or use the item "Goho-m"("Kaereiru" For JP version *), or find the save
point on the last floor.
Rare treasure chests are now locked and require a Chest Key to open.
The Reaper can only be found on a 2nd playthrough.
Battle Related
=========================================================
You can now control your party members by selecting the Tactics Command,
and choosing the last option.
The ONE MORE system is back but with a few tweaks. You don't lose
a turn when getting back on your feet, neither does the enemy.
But if you critical or use the enemy weakness when the enemy
is down they will recieve the status Dizzy and will lose a turn.
When an enemy is knockdown, sometimes it will randomly trigger
a special follow up move from party members.
Party members will now cover you if you're in danger (Commu Rank 1+).
The guard command is added. It prevents knockdown from weakness.
The physical attributes are now merge to 1 instead of 3 different ones.
Analyze now only tells HP& MP and abilities (once you have Hi-Analyze).
Shuffle time now only offer 3 cards. Persona , Blank and Nothing.
When taking the nothing card you will receive nothing after the battle
is over.
A new feature has been added called Arcana Chance. Each time after
shuffle time it'll give you the option for Arcana Chance, depending
on the Arcana card it can give out positve or negative effects depending
on your luck.
Persona Evolution
=========================================================
In Persona 3, your party members will have their Persona evolved into
a new form when the character resolved his problem, but in this game
the Persona will not evolve unless you have maxed out their Social Links.
Persona evolution offers your character resistances to elements and
for Rise she gets more abilities as you rank up on her Social Link.

Battle Tactics
=========================================================
Let them decide   | Party Members will do whatever they want.
Full Frontal      | Party Members will go attack with all their might.
Save SP           | Party Members will try to save as much SP as possible.
Save your power   | Party Members will try to save as much HP as possible.
Direct Command    | Party Members will be under your control.
No Change         | Party Members will act the way they were before.

Poison     | Reduce HP each turn. Attack Power is also reduced 50%.
Rage       | Can not be controlled, but Atk 2X, Def and Hit % down 50%.
Dizzy      | Lost 1 turn of action.
Silence    | Can't use Skills. Also the Main Character can't switch Persona.
Exhaustion | Reduce HP each turn. Defense is also reduced 50%.
Confusion  | Characters will do random things, P4's version of Charm.
Enervation | All status is cut in half.
Fear       | Can randomly lose a turn, also randomly escape from battle.

In Persona 4 you need to focus on 5 different status parameter
that will allow you do certain action, and to activate certain
