The amount of health you lose depends on the severity of the hit. You can restore your health by breaking the clear boxes with blue orbs in them. As you defeat enemies, you will gain experience. When you gain enough experience, your health will level up and give you an extra hit point. The maximum amount of hit points you can get is 50 in normal mode, and 75 in challenge mode. ----------- Weapons ----------- You can purchase weapons from the various "Gadgetron" vendors in the game. As you use weapons, their ammo will run down. When your ammo for that weapon gets to zero, you can't use that weapon until you find or buy more ammo from "Gadgetron" vendors. When you kill an enemy with a weapon, that weapon will gain experience. When you gain enough experience, your weapon's level will increase. Higher levels generally mean more ammo, more power, and added effects. After you get your weapon to the fourth level, it will be renamed and will receive a new feature. In "Challenge Mode", you can purchase special versions of each weapon, called "Titan" weapons. These weapons further increase the power of each weapon, but cost much more than normal weapons. ----------- Gadgets ----------- Gadgets are tools that help you through certain parts of the game. Each gadget has a different ability and can only be used in certain situations. Gadgets don't to any damage to enemies and can't level up. ---------------- Quick Select ---------------- The quick select menu is brought up when you press the "Triangle" button. It is a wheel that you can place weapons and gadgets on for quick access during battle. You can change what weapons and gadgets are on the quick select wheel at any time by going to the pause menu, then pressing "Quick Select". Weapons that are not on the quick select wheel are accessable by going to the pause menu and pressing "Weapons". --------------- Grind Locks --------------- After you acquire the Shrink Ray on Kalidon, you will find these puzzles. Ratchet will shrink down and use his grind boots to grind on rails inside of the locks. You can jump from rail to rail, as well as over obstacles. The main goal of these is to use your wrench to hit the switches (they look like red, glowing triangles) to lower the forcefields and make it into the locks. These are all pretty simple. ================== Weapons (WAOS) ================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lacerator - First Purchase: In inventory at beginning of the game - Price: Free - Upgrade Name: Dual Lacerators - Ammo: -Level 1: 60 -Level 2: 70 -Level 3: 80 -Level 4: 120 - Upgrade Speed: Very Fast This will probably be the first weapon you level up to level 4. - Other Comments: My personal favorite gun. You will probably use this quite a lot for general use. Not very effective in boss situations, however. Titan Dual Lacerators - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Dual Lacerators - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 120 -Level 2: 120 -Level 3: 120 -Level 4: 120 Upgrades: - Double Barrel Mod: - First Available: Challax - Cost: 30,000 Bolts Adds another barrel to your Lacerator (Or one to each Dual Lacerator), thus making it twice as powerful. One of the best upgrades in the game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acid Bomb Glove - First Purchase: In inventory at beginning of the game - Price: Free - Upgrade Name: Acid Detonator - Ammo: -Level 1: 5 -Level 2: 7 -Level 3: 9 -Level 4: 10 - Upgrade Speed: Very Fast This weapon is very, very easy to level up especially when you use it around large groups of enemies. - Other Comments: I didn't use this weapon that much on my first playthrough, but it does become useful in challenge mode. Titan Acid Detonator - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Acid Detonator - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 8 -Level 4: 8 Upgrades: - Acid Burn Mod: - First Available: Challax - Cost: 30,000 Bolts Makes enemies that are in the acid that the acid bomb produces catch on fire. They continue to stay on fire even when outside of the acid. Works great in combonation with the Epoxy Mod. -Epoxy Mod: - First Available: Challax - Cost: 50,000 Bolts When enemies walk through the acid made by the acid bomb, their speed is reduced to 50%. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Concussion Gun - First Purchase: Pokitaru - Price: 10,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Concussion Cannon - Ammo: -Level 1: 25 -Level 2: 25 -Level 3: 30 -Level 4: 30 - Upgrade Speed: Medium It takes quite a while to level this one up because you have to very close to enemies to use it effectively, and getting in close to enemies is very risky. - Other Comments: I have never, ever leveled this weapon up past level one. This weapon is totally useless. You can save yourself the 10,000 bolts and purchase something useful. Titan Concussion Cannon - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Concussion Cannon - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 25 -Level 2: 25 -Level 3: 25 -Level 4: 25 Upgrades: - Wide Barrel Mod: - First Available: Kalidon - Cost: 15,000 Bolts Increases the width of the blast from the gun. It works fine, if you can find any use for the gun. - Lock On Mod - First Available: Kalidon - Cost: 5,000 Bolts Your gun will now lock onto enemies. It's pretty much useless though, as most of your gun's fire still won't hit the enemy. - Charge Up Mod: - First Available: Challax - Cost: 50,000 Bolts Press and hold circle down to charge up the gun. Does much more damage than a single normal shot would do. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agents of Doom - First Purchase: Ryllus - Price: 25,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Agents of Dread - Ammo: -Level 1: 6 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 10 -Level 4: 10 - Upgrade Speed: Medium-Fast If you use them a lot, they are pretty fast to level up, but their later levels can require a lot of use. - Other Comments: These guys are really useful near the end of the game, so leveling them up early is quite smart. These guys get special powers with each level up. Level 1: Run along the ground and attack enemies with their fists. Level 2: Run along the ground, but now have cannons that they can use for long distance combat. Level 3: Almost exactly the same as level 2, but they do slightly more damage. Level 4: Fly behind Ratchet and shoot enemies from afar. Titan Agents of Dread - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Agents of Dread - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 10 -Level 2: 10 -Level 3: 10 -Level 4: 10 Upgrades: - Launcher Mod: - First Available: Quadrona - Cost: 20,000 Bolts Makes the Agents of Doom/Dread do more damage. Really useful for bosses and the final planet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scorcher - First Purchase: Kalidon - Price: 20,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Incinerator - Ammo: -Level 1: 60 -Level 2: 90 -Level 3: 90 -Level 4: 90 - Upgrade Speed: Fast You can level this up really quickly if you can find a large group of weak enemies, and since there are a lot of those, you will probably upgrade this one in a few planets. - Other Comments: This weapon is really powerful, but hard to use. If you really want to use it effectively, strafe around your enemies and keep firing. The ammo will run our quickly, however. Great for bosses, in my experience. Titan Incinerator - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Incinerator - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 90 -Level 2: 90 -Level 3: 90 -Level 4: 90 Upgrades: - Spitfire Mod: - First Available: Quadrona - Cost: 15,000 Bolts Whenever the Scorcher/Incinerator stops firing, it releases a fireball. The size of the fireball depends on the length of time you were firing. The longer you were firing, the larger the fireball released is. - Sunflare Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 200,000 Bolts ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suck Cannon - First Purchase: Ratchet's Dream - Price: 30,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Vortex Cannon - Ammo: Ammo for this gun is done a little differently, since you have to suck up enemies or crates to use them as ammo. Below are the number of items you can suck up at once at each level. -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 10 -Level 3: 12 -Level 4: 16 - Upgrade Speed: Fast You can suck up crates anywhere. - Other Comments: I haven't used this weapon that much except for Ratchet's Dream, so I don't know that much about it. It does fire out extremely powerful shots, however. Titan Vortex Cannon - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Vortex Cannon - Price: 300,000 Bolts - Ammo: Ammo for this gun is done a little differently, since you have to suck up enemies to use them as ammo. Below are the number of enemies you can up at once at each level. -Level 1: 10 -Level 2: 12 -Level 3: 14 -Level 4: 16 Upgrades: - Bounce Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 600,000 Bolts Makes the enemies you fire out of your Suck/Vortex Cannon bounce off of walls. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bee Mine Glove - First Purchase: Medical Outpost Omega - Price: 50,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Killer Bee Mine Glove - Ammo: -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 8 -Level 4: 8 - Upgrade Speed: Very Fast If you can find an area where you can toss the mine down into a group of enemies, you can level this quite easily. Works well with the Agents of Doom/Dread. - Other Comments: I absolutely love this weapon. It is quite weak in its first two levels, but levels 3 and 4 are extremely strong. Titan Killer Bee Mine Glove - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Killer Bee Mine Glove - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 10 -Level 4: 12 Upgrades: - Worker Mod: - First Available: Challax - Cost: 5,000 Bolts Makes the bees that come out of the hives collect bolts and health orbs for you. Also makes them stay outside of the hive a little bit longer before the hive disappears. - Hive Bomb Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 300,000 Bolts When all of the bees from a hive have been expended, the hive will explode, causing damage to nearby enemies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sniper Mine - First Purchase: Challax - Price: 50,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Deadeye Mine - Ammo: -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 10 -Level 4: 10 - Upgrade Speed: Medium This weapon will only level up quickly if you use it to snipe enemies from a distance. If you try and use it in close combat, you will find that it doesn't level up easily. - Other Comments: I see the use for this gun, sniping from long distances, but I can't find any practical applications for it in the game. There are almost situations where you would use this weapon. My advice is to skip this gun and use the 50,000 bolts for something a little more useful. Titan Deadeye Mine - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Deadeye Mine - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 8 -Level 4: 8 Upgrades: - Split Beam Mod: - First Available: Quadrona - Cost: 25,000 Bolts When you fire the mine, the beam hurts enemies near your target. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shock Rocket - First Purchase: Dayni Moon - Price: 55,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Electro Rocket - Ammo: -Level 1: 20 -Level 2: 20 -Level 3: 22 -Level 4: 22 - Upgrade Speed: Slow In it's first two levels, you will find that it upgrades quite easily. From level 3 on, however, it takes an enormous amount of experience to level up. - Other Comments: I used this weapon quite a lot from when I got it. Very useful on bosses and large groups of foes, due to the electrical arcs that hurt nearby enemies when they are near the missile. Titan Electro Rocket - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Electro Rocket - Price: 1,250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 18 -Level 2: 20 -Level 3: 22 -Level 4: 24 Upgrades: - After Shock Mod: - First Available: Quadrona - Cost: 25,000 Bolts The missiles from the weapon will do more damage, as will the electricity that comes from the missile. - Lock On Mod: - First Available: Quadrona - Cost: 5,000 Bolts Lock on to enemies. Really useful, because enemies around that enemy will be hurt too. - Multi-Launcher Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 2,000,000 Bolts Fires more missiles, and thus does more damage. Worth the cost. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mootator - First Purchase: Found on Dayni Moon - Price: No Price/Free - Obtained By: Beating all Dayni Moon Clank Challenges - Upgrade Name: Armoogeddon - Ammo: -Level 1: N/A -Level 2: N/A -Level 3: N/A -Level 4: N/A - Upgrade Speed: Slow Best use on small, weak enemies, and lots of them. - Other Comments: This weapon is pretty much useless. The only real reason to use it would be for the one skill point you need it for on Pokitaru. Titan Armoogeddon - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Armoogeddon - Price: 1,500,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: N/A -Level 2: N/A -Level 3: N/A -Level 4: N/A Upgrades: None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Static Barrier - First Purchase: Inside Clank - Price: 65,000 - Upgrade Name: Repulser Field - Ammo: -Level 1: 5 -Level 2: 5 -Level 3: 5 -Level 4: 5 - Upgrade Speed: Medium-Fast If you purchase this one immediately, you will find that you will almost have it leveled up to it's max by the end of the game. - Other Comments: Purchase this one as soon as it becomes available. It is the most useful weapon in the game by far. The final boss is almost impossible without it. Titan Repulser Field - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Repulser Field - Price: 2,500,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 5 -Level 2: 5 -Level 3: 5 -Level 4: 5 Upgrades: - Reflection Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 250,000 Bolts If an enemy fires a laser attack at you, it reflects back and hits them. - Mirage Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 1,250,000 Bolts When you have a shield over you, it leaves behind a Ratchet decoy that you enemies will fire on, instead of you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Laser Tracer - First Purchase: Quadrona - Price: 85,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Optical Laser Array - Ammo: -Level 1: 200 -Level 2: 200 -Level 3: 300 -Level 4: 300 - Upgrade Speed: Very Slow Chances are you won't even level this one up once by the end of the game. - Other Comments: While this gun is very, very strong, it has a major problem. You have to stand still to use it. This is partially helped by the fact that there is a small shield on the front that protects you from enemy fire. Titan Optical Laser Array - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Optical Laser Array - Price: 3,000,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 300 -Level 2: 300 -Level 3: 300 -Level 4: 300 Upgrades: - Pierce Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 1,250,000 Bolts When you fire the weapon, it will go through enemies and hit an enemy behind them. - Ricochet Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 500,000 Bolts The Laser Tracer beam will bounce off of walls. For best effect, use in small rooms. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RYNO (Rip You a New One) - First Purchase: Pokitaru, Challenge Mode Only - Price: 9,999,000 - Upgrade Name: Rynocerator - Ammo: -Level 1: 30 -Level 2: 30 -Level 3: 40 -Level 4: 50 - Upgrade Speed: Very Slow It will probably take you a couple of challenge mode run throughs to level this one up. - Other Comments: Without a doubt, this is the strongest weapon in the game. If you have it, there's no reason to ever use any other weapon. Can make mincemeat of the final boss. Upgrades: None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ================== Gadgets (GDES) ================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hypershot - First Obtained: In inventory at beginning of game - Price: Free - Obtained By: In inventory at beginning of game - Other Comments: This is probably the gadget you will use most often. You don't need to have it in your quick select, however. Just jump towards the floating nodes and press circle to automatically activate it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sprout-O-Matic - First Obtained: Ryllus - Price: Free - Obtained By: Given to you in an unskippable cutscene - Other Comments: You might want to keep this one on your quick select, as you will use it fairly often. To use, just spray a little water on a plant, then lead it over to a patch of dirt. Spray a little into the dirt and it will grow. It should be noted that on Dayni Moon, plants will not grow at night. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Polarizer - First Obtained: On Medical Outpost Omega, after it gets blown up - Price: Free - Obtained By: Win skyboard race - Other Comments: You will only use this a few times, so it doesn't really warrant a place on your quick select menu. To use, just point it at an applicable object and press and hold fire. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PDA - First Obtained: Challax - Price: 50,000 Bolts - Obtained By: Purchasing from a Gadgetron vendor. - Other Comments: This gadget is really only useful during the long boss fights. The main problem with this is that you can only buy ammo, and the ammo that you buy is five times it's regular price. You may want it on your quick select, you may not. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shrink Ray - First Obtained: Kalidon - Price: Free - Obtained By: Win the "Learner's Permit" skyboard race - Other Comments: You don't have to equip this one, it is automatically used in grind lock puzzles. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bolt Grabber - First Obtained: Medical Outpost Omega - Price: 5,000 Bolts - Obtained By: Purchase from a Gadgetron vendor - Other Comments: Automatically used. Doubles the distance in which Ratchet attracts bolts. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Box Breaker - First Obtained: Medical Outpost Omega - Price: 20,000 Bolts - Obtained By: Purchase from a Gadgetron vendor - Other Comments: Automatically used. When you do an overhead smash (Jump + Swing Wrench), it increases the area in which boxes are broken from the impact. Does not increase the distance in which you do damage to enemies, however. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Map-O-Matic - First Obtained: Dayni Moon - Price: 50,000 Bolts - Obtained By: Purchase from a Gadgetron vendor - Other Comments: Shows all areas of a map, including secret ones. Its pretty useless if you follow this guide, but if you want to explore on your own, go ahead and buy it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ======================== Armour Pieces (AMPE) ======================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wildfire - Wildfire Helmet: - Ryllus This will be floating in front of the temple (where Clank enters the hole in the wall). - Wildfire Body Armour: - Pokitaru At the end of the training session with Luna, it will come up on the bridge that you are forced to raise. - Wildfire Gloves: - Pokitaru Near the Gadgetron vendor before the boat portion of the level. - Wildfire Boots: - Kalidon After you finish the section where the elevator goes down and enemies come out of doors on the side, it will be right in front of you when you come up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sludge Mk. 9 - Sludge Mk. 9 Helmet: - Metalis Beat the Clank Challenge "Nigh Impossible." - Sludge Mk. 9 Body Armour: - Kalidon It will be on the bridge after you defeat Mungo. - Sludge Mk. 9 Gloves: - Kalidon Complete the "Master Challenge" Skyboard race. - Sludge Mk. 9 Boots: - Ryllus When you first get the Sprout-O-Matic, you plant a bomb plant. Instead of hitting the bomb towards the wall you are supposed to, go to the other side of the plant and hit it. These are called "Gadgetron Vendors" and they are where you will purchase weapons, ammo, and some gadgets. Press triangle to interact with it. So far the only thing you'll see is the "Concussion Gun." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Concussion Gun - First Purchase: Pokitaru - Price: 10,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Concussion Cannon - Ammo: -Level 1: 25 -Level 2: 25 -Level 3: 30 -Level 4: 30 - Upgrade Speed: Medium It takes quite a while to level this one up because you have to very close to enemies to use it effectively, and getting in close to enemies is very risky. - Other Comments: I have never, ever leveled this weapon up past level one. This weapon is totally useless. You can save yourself the 10,000 bolts and purchase something useful. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Press triangle again to exit the vendor, since you don't have enough money to buy that gun right now. Follow the girl up the path near the vendor. Two crabs will come and attack you. Press square near them to use your wrench and kill them. Do you see those golden objects that just came towards you? Those are called "bolts" and they are the currency of the game. Now press and hold triangle. That circle that comes up is called your "quick select" menu. You can put weapons and gadgets on it for quick access in battle. For now, move your analog stick/nub to the right and equip the "Lacerator." Press "X" to jump over the log. On the other side, either use your wrench to attack the crabs or use your "Lacerator." To use your gun, press circle for a single shot, or press and hold for the gun to continue firing. To best use guns, press and hold L2 in the PS2 version, or use the D-Pad on the PSP version to strafe. This will keep your gun towrads the enemies and make hitting them much easier. When you're done with the enemies, approach the crates to either side. Use your wrench to break these, yielding bolts. Do the same for the set on the other side. Approach the large earthen stairs and press "X" to jump up them. When you approach the wall, the girl will tell you what to do. High jump over the wall. On the other side, use either your wrench or the Lacerator to defeat the enemies that approach you. When you have defeated all of them, run up to the bolt in the middle. Press "square" and rotate the analog stick/nub slowly and Ratchet will open the door ahead. Enter through, and long jump over the crevice. Break the boxes and approach the large door. Enter first person mode as instructed and use your Lacerator to shoot at the target on the door. Enter through the door and be careful, as several crabs will apprear from behind the waterfall at your right. Take them out and head behind the waterfall where they appeared for some more crates. Break them and head back out. Approach the large land mass and either high jump or double jump onto it. Break the boxes, but don't jump to the other side just yet. Instead, pull out your Lacerator and attack the enemies from here to ensure you don't get hit. When they're done for, jump over and slide down the dirt ramp. On the bottom, take out all of the enemies, and the gate ahead will open, yielding a few more baddies. If you run out of ammunition, press and hold triangle to open the quick select and rotate the analog stick/nub to equip the "Acid Bomb Glove." Head through the newly opened door and deal with the crabs any way you know how. Continue around the corner for two Gadgetron boxes (which hold ammo instead of bolts) and some more enemies. Take them out. When you're done with them, break the chairs for a few extra bolts and long jump over to the island. Break the crates. Here you will find a clear crate with a blue sphere inside. These will heal part of your wounds if you are damaged. Rotate the bolt to raise the bridge. Head across and grab your first piece of armour. [WILDFIRE BODY ARMOUR OBTAINED] Head all the way across the bridge to finish this objective. ----------------------------------------- Objective Complete: Complete Training ----------------------------------------- [Cutscene] -------------------------------- New Objective: Find The Girl -------------------------------- To get a skill point, quickly retrace your steps around the training course. If you did it quick enough, you'll end up with a fancy new skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (1/25)] Head to the Gadgetron vendor to buy some ammo. Break the boxes near you and kill the bot hovering near the house remnants. Be careful, when the bot blows up, a spider bot will come out of it's remains and attack you. Continue past the broken house. [Continue Point] On the wooden platform, some crabs will attack you, so take them out and continue along. Take out the spider bots, then head up the path and take out the hover bots. Be careful of the spiders that come out of them. Break the boxes to your left and approach the metal wall. Walk up the wall as instructed and take out the bots on top. Approach the zip-line, but don't use it yet. Instead, turn to face the giant |
