Okay, I know a lot of you are sometimes getting stuck with the first and/or second battle
with the El Gigante. 
 The first time, buy a rocket launcher from a merchant. It doesn't matter how long you
have it, just have it for when you battle the ogre thingy. So, when you're in your first
battle with him, you just have to take the Launcher out and shoot him anywhere (I love
going for the head)! 
 And the second time, after you've fought off all of those retarded villagers, look around
the small village. You will find some items: a grenade on the top floor of the house you
were in, some herbs on the bottom floor if you hadn't grabbed them during the battle, and
outside you will find some handgun ammo and shotgun ammo. You go up to a lever in between
to gates. It'll ask you if you want to go "left", "right", or
"cancel". Go for the right (because the left side is a swarm of freaking
retarded villagers again!). That is where El Gigante is, awaiting to fight you. Before you
enter the right gate, go to the hut by the merchant. There will be a note about a
helicopter. Pick that up and read it carefully. Then, after you're done reading that, go
to the merchant outside the hut. Buy a rocket launcher from him. If you don't have enough
Pesetas, don't worry about it. SELL EVERYTHING YOU HAVE ON LEON'S PERSON. Once you've sold
everything and you've got 30000 or more Pesetas, go back to the hut and save your game. 
 After you save your game, go to the gate you opened. When you get into the ruined place,
DO NOT TELL ASHLEY TO WAIT BY THE ENTRANCE, because if you leave down the ruins by
yourself, El Gigente will come and squeeze her to death. 
 So when you enter the gate, make sure Ashley is following you. A cutscene will occur,
showing the El Gigente coming out of his "hiding place". Then the screen will
move to the huge boulder. You don't need the boulder, it doesn't work at all. When the
cutscene finishes, equip your rocket launcher if you haven't. Then aim at El Gigente and
he'll die instantly once the rocket Launcher hits him (it doesn't matter where, but I
prefer the head). He'll desinigrate into the ground and there will be 150000 Pesetas/Gold
there. Go pick it up and then head back to the village. Go back to the hut and save your
game (just in case it freezes during the merchent dealing thing). Once done saving your
game, go to the merchant. You can buy some items back. Then after that, save again. After
you save, go back into the gate.
