Updates.............................................................[UPDTE] ------------- Intro [INTRO] ------------- Hello, and welcome to my second guide. I'm making this because I noticed a common misconception floating around the Message Boards at Neoseeker (my preferred Message Board), and was hoping to correct it. However, I figured it would be a lot easier to simply write a new guide (since there's no Seven Star Swords FAQ) to make sure the information is seen. So, without further ado, here's the guide. --------------------------------------- What Are The Seven Star Swords? [WHAT?] --------------------------------------- The Seven Star Swords are special weapons for Jaster. Most of the regular weapons have 5 levels to them; the Seven Star Swords only have 4. They also tend to be more powerful than most of the other swords at that level. The two main problems are getting them and upgrading them. Upgrading is easier than obtaining, but because of the misconception on Neoseeker, I'm including a detailed section on that as well. As a general note, I'm also going to include information on the following weapons: Libra King's Sword Zeo Sychros Sword of Sin Dorgenedge None of these swords are actually Seven Star Swords, but they all operate on the same principles, so I'm including them for convenience's sake. ------------------------- The Misconception [MISCN] ------------------------- Since I'm making this guide to correct a misconception, it's only fair that I tell you what that misconception is. Basically, it is generally believed that the way to upgrade a Seven Star Sword from Level 1 to Level 2, and Level 2 to Level 3, is to combine it with another sword that has a higher Level than the Seven Star Sword. To get it from Level 3 to Level 4, on the other hand, requires that you combine the sword with a particular sword. This theory is false. Why? Because the Seven Star Swords don't level up when combine with a sword with a higher level. If they did, combining the Desert Seeker with a Ridge Cruser would result in the Desert SeekerII. However, if you actually combine a Desert Seeker with a Ridge Crusher, you get the Desert Seeker, and lose the Ridge Crusher. In order to level up a Seven Star Sword, you have to combine it with a sword that has an attack that is equal to or greater than a certain number. Unfortunatley, this relationship is near impossible to see just by playing the game. So how did I see it? Simple. I bought the Guide with the game. The offical game guide from Double Jump Books has a chart in the back that tells the results of every weapon combination in the game. Swords are listed in order of attack from lowest to highest (with the exception of the Seven Star Swords and the other 4 special swords), making the relationship obvious, if you stop to think about it. --------------------------------------- Obtaining the Seven Star Swords [OBTIN] --------------------------------------- In order to avoid confusion, this section only covers how to get the Seven Star Swords. The other 4 will be detailed in the next section. This is done for 2 reasons. First, to show which weapons are Seven Star Swords, and which are special weapons. Second, I've already typed 'Seven Star Swords' in at least 2 different places, and I don't feel like changing it. --------------------- Desert Seeker [SEEKR] --------------------- You can't miss the Desert Seeker. Literally. If you don't get the Desert Seeker at the beginning of the game, take your disc back and get a new one. ------------- Ixion [IXION] ------------- In order to get the Ixion, you need to make it in the Factory. This means you need to get the Blueprint. In order to get it, you'll have to talk to Agissimo in the Spaceport on Rosa (Chapter 8 or later. This is when you have to get the 3 Key Pieces from the ruins on Rosa, Juraika, and Zerard). After that, head to the church and talk to a woman named Misanna. As long as you've talked to Agissimo, she'll give you the Blueprint. Once you've gotten the Blueprint, you'll need the following materials: 15 Revolva Alloy 4 Izerium 3 Seventhmoon 1 Edensia ----------------- Cosmolore [COSMO] ----------------- In order to get the Cosmolore, you need to talk to 3 people on your jaunt to the Ancient Ruins scattered around the galaxy. They are: Nico - Cancer King's Ruins. From the Orphan's Hideout, head to the North-East (upper right) corner of Area 1. Nico's in the farthest corner. Mesod - Path to the Ruins. From the 'Endpoint' Teleporter, head East (right). Mesod is in the second square you pass through. Silma - Gladius Towers. He's on the 3rd floor of the first tower. I can't remember which tower you have to enter through to get to him, but he's on the northern side of Tower 1's First Floor. Once you've talked to them, head to the Dorgenark and talk to Carraco in the control room. Head back to the hall leading to the southern elevator that takes you to the lounge of the Dorgenark, but don't take it. Instead, go through the door just East of the Elevator. Check the Monument on the wall for the Cosmolore. -------------------- Great Caesar [GCAES] -------------------- Head to Item Shop Corbis on Vedan after getting a Platinum License. You will be able to buy the Annals of Hades; do so, then talk to Rodullier (he's inside the shop). Now, head to Rosa and teleport to Ruins -> Endpoint and head towards the Great Tablet. After exiting the tunnel, you'll cross some open sand as you approach an arch. Before going through the arch, look on the right side and you'll see Elderly Man. Talk to him, and when he asks if you're looking for 'Shisa', tell him no. He'll give you the Great Caesar. ---------------------- Pride of Kings [PRIDE] ---------------------- After reaching Johannasburg, talk to Ulbor outside the church in Salgin. Head into the church to find a new chest. Inside is the Pride of Kings, but you need the Star Key to open it. ---------------------- Duke Nightmare [NIGHT] ---------------------- In order to create this sword, you need to combine swords using Toady. This is most easily done after reaching Mariglenn, since the weapon vendor Narcissus sells one of the weapons you'll need. Buy the following items from the indicated Weapon Vendors to get things started. Alexander - Rant, Zerard Plain Edge and Gustbringer - Mohandis, Rosa Spirit Calibur - Kayo, Vedan Adamon Raiser -Narcissus, Mariglenn Now, after each weapon is mastered, combine them as follows: Alexander + Plain Edge = Alex Impulse Alex Impulse + Spirit Calibur = Demon Rouser Gustbringer + Adamon Raiser = Majestic Halo Majestic Halo + Demon Rouser = Duke Nightmare -------------------- Pegasus Lord [PLORD] -------------------- After reaching Mariglenn, head to Rosa. In the entrance to the Labyrinth, you'll find a woman named Kyralil Bell. Talk to her twice and she'll send you into the Labyrinth to find her partner, Blaster J. Blaster J can be found in one of several locations; either in a side hall before the Maze of Chaos teleporter, in a room after the Maze of Chaos teleporter, or in the room before the final teleporter in the Ancient Ruins. When you find him, talk to him to get the Pegasus Lord. -------------------- Other Swords [OTHER] -------------------- This section details how to obtain the other 4 Special Swords. -------------------------- Libra King's Sword [LIBRA] -------------------------- The Libra King's Sword is gotten as a storyline event when you first enter Gladius Towers. It doesn't matter which Tower you enter first, as you'll get the sword in either one. ------------------- Zeo Sychros [ZSYCH] ------------------- Another Storyline event, the Zeo Sychros is obtained on Mariglenn by getting the eight Drigellums. They will automatically be combined into the Zeo Sychros for you. -------------------- Sword of Sin [SOSIN] -------------------- The Sword of Sin is located in the Ghost Ship. After fighting the Individer, look around the room to find the chest containing it. ------------------ Dorgenedge [DORGN] ------------------ The Dorgenedge is obtained by defeating the Ghost Ship. --------------------- Upgrade Chart [UPGRD] --------------------- The following chart details the Weapon Thresholds for upgrading a weapon listed in this FAQ. This will allow you to quickly decide if a weapon you have in your inventory will allow you to upgrade your Seven Star Sword/Special Weapon. Note that the sword mentioned is not the only weapon you need in order to upgrade the weapon; it's merely the first weapon that will result in an upgrade. If you have a weapon that has a higher attack power than the named weapon, then you can use that weapon instead of the named weapon to upgrade your weapon. For example, when upgrading the Desert Seeker, using a Core Breaker instead of a Shining Blazon will still get you the Desert Seeker II. +------------------+----------------+----------------+ |Name |Attack Threshold|Weapon | +------------------+----------------+----------------+ |Desert Seeker |74 |Shining Blazon | |Desert Seeker II |113 |Core Breaker | |Desert Seeker III |162 |Alex Decider | |Earthshaker |- |- | +------------------+----------------+----------------+ |Pride of Kings |93 |Shining Bravo+ | |Pride of Kings II |129 |Sparo Breaker | |Pride of Kings III|183 |Olympias+ | |Kindom Master |- |- | +------------------+----------------+----------------+ |Duke Nightmare |113 |Core Breaker | |Duke Nightmare II |146 |Alexander | |Duke Nightmare III|201 |Saba Garuda | |Dark Cloud |- |- | +------------------+----------------+----------------+ |Great Ceasar |129 |Sparo Breaker | |Great Ceasar II |162 |Alex Decider | |Great Ceasar III |229 |Zelenga Zenenga+| |Babylon Reborn |- |- | +------------------+----------------+----------------+ |Cosmolore |146 |Alexander | |Cosmolore II |183 |Olympias+ | |Cosmolore III |234 |Gustbringer | |Ragnarok |- |- | +------------------+----------------+----------------+ |Ixion |162 |Alex Decider | |Ixion II |201 |Saba Garuda | |Ixion III |274 |Gundarion+ | |Guard Axis |- |- | +------------------+----------------+----------------+ |Pegasus Lord |183 |Olympias+ | |Pegasus Lord II |190 |Saba Luga | |Pegasus Lord III |274 |Gundarion+ | |Gryphon Lord |- |- | +------------------+----------------+----------------+ |Zeo Sychros |183 |Olympias+ | |Zeo Sychros II |217 |Zelenga Zenenga | |Zeo Sychros III |274 |Gundarion+ | |Zeo Sychros X |- |- | +------------------+----------------+----------------+ |Libra King's Sword|93 |Shining Bravo+ | |Libra King's Pride|113 |Core Breaker | |Libra King's Fury |129 |Sparo Breaker | |Ruler's Horn |- |- | +------------------+----------------+----------------+ |Sword of Sin |190 |Saba Luga | |Demon Blade Ashura|229 |Zelenga Zenenga+| |Demon Blade Ashana|278 |Judgment Halo | |Diablolos |- |- | +------------------+----------------+----------------+ |Dorgenedge |201 |Saba Garuda | |Dorgensaber |245 |Gustraiser | |Dorgenbreaker |289 |Dazzling Halo | |Dorgencalibur |- |- | +------------------+----------------+----------------+ ------------------ Contact Me [CNTCT] ------------------ If you find any errors or have any information to include, contact me at swk3000@gmail.com Put some reference to my guide in the subject so I don't delete the e-mail. ------------------------ Authorized Sites [ATHOR] ------------------------ The only sites that may host this guide are as follows: www.neoseeker.com - Neoseeker ---------------- Credits [CREDIT] ---------------- Thanks to Level 5 for creating Rogue Galaxy. Thanks to Doublejump Books for creating such a great guide for this game. --------------- Updates [UPDTE] --------------- 05/26/09 - Added information about upgrading that I should have put in when I wrote the guide, but failed to actually put in. 08/24/07 - Initial version of the guide. |
