Weapon Tips [0005] ############################################################################### ***** E-mail me if you have more tips ***** Its important to know how to kill "correctly". So this section will help you shoot and kill with less chances of getting shot and killed yourself. Getting killed can result in the loss of your coke, your dirty cash, and a mission failure. You don't want that to happen, trust me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I. On-Foot [0006] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is a few tips: 1) Never walk around with a weapon out when its not needed. 2) If you are by a wall use the wall cover feature to maximize cover. 3) When you are by cover that only reaches your waist crouch. 4) Reload when you have the chance, not when you empty a mag. 5) Reload behind cover. 6) Use the sniper to recon an area before you approach. 7) Use weapons when their disadvantages are the least vulnerable. 8) Never shoot a cop. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- II. Vehicular [0007] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is a few tips: 1) Use cars to clear out Gang Nests. 2) Buy the Bodog Stampede for maximum automotive firepower. 3) If your vehicle keeps exploding use the Brahma. 4) When in a car chase use the M-79 to destroy the opposing cars. 5) Buy the Cigarette Gun Boat for maximum marine firepower. 6) Buy the Attack Boat for, well obviously, attacks. ############################################################################### 6. I'll cover as much as I can about the weapons in the game. Not much else needs to be said... =============================================================================== a. Melee Weapons [0009] =============================================================================== Weapons that will always be fun for beating up drug dealers and they never run out of ammo. Just don't use them in gun fights. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I. Lead Pipe [0010] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I like this weapon, not because it kills the fastest or because it can cut people's heads off, but because its great for old fashion beatings. If you are roaming around and decide to kill some drug dealers its fun to use this. It'll probably be the first melee weapon you get. A problem with this weapon is that you can't buy it, but once you buy the Driver Henchman this Pipe will be one of his default weapons (See section [0042]). Also, the Pipe doesn't attract the cops' attention... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- II. Machete [0011] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Better than the Pipe in its killing abilities, but not as fun. It'll kill an enemy with one swing, usually, but its just not worth using much. Like the Lead Pipe you can't buy it, and a henchman doesn't carry it. So acquiring it can be kind of tricky. On some missions in the Islands (The Sandman Missions) you have to save someone from getting beaten to death, and sometimes after you kill the gang members you can take all nine of their Machetes and put them in your Weapons Locker. Also like the Pipe the Machete doesn't attract the cops' attention... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- III. Chainsaw [0012] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I absolutely hate this weapon! Why you ask, because this weapon has probably killed me more times than any other weapon in the game. Once that Chainsaw gets within two feet of you... There is no chance of survival. If any gang member is coming after you with a chainsaw kill him quickly or run the hell away. One time I was just roaming around and then I decided to fist fight a Drug Dealer. I threw one punch when he pulled the chainsaw out and off went my head. It happened so quickly. Besides that, its a good weapon for Tony also. It can cut peoples heads, arms, and legs off. Tony can even perform a Full Body Dismemberment. How many times you perform each of these gets recorded on the stats screen. Once you cut a head/arm/leg off you can see it on the ground next to the torso. The Chainsaw is a great rage mode weapon also. This is the only Melee weapon that you can buy. Its also the only Melee weapon that DOES attract the cops' attention. Cool weapons, probably going to be the first guns you'll see. The ammo is cheap which makes them great for easy kills. They also don't attract the cops' attention very much. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I. .38 Automatic [0014] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lame pistol that takes forever to kill someone with, small and concealable though, allowing you to carry it around without much problems with the cops. Might be the first handgun you get, but the .45 will easily replace it. Its very cheap, $100!, making it a perfect first weapon. Don't use it outside of Little Havana though, by then it will be out classed. Price: $100 Clip Price: $50 Ammo Capacity: 80 Clip Capacity: 9 Rep Level Unlocked: 1 Upgrades: 0 Investment: Montana Defense Benefits: Ammo Capacity: 500 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- II. .45 Automatic [0015] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My favorite pistol in the game, possibly in my life, it just has the perfect blend of power, accuracy, and rate of fire. Making it far superior to the .38, and more practical than the Deagle. Once you get this you won't ever replace it. When you buy the silencer for it you'll notice how slowly the cop meter will fill, allowing you to have it out for extended periods of time. It takes down enemies quickly and quietly, most definitely the best pistol in the game. Price: $300 Clip Price: $50 Ammo Capacity: 80 Clip Capacity: 12 Rep Level Unlocked: 3 Upgrades: 1 1) Attaches a Silencer Rep Level Unlocked: 4 Price: $50,000 Investment: Montana Defense Benefits: Ammo Capacity: 500 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- III. Deagle [0016] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good pistol, better than the .38, but not quite as good as the .45. Without a doubt this pistol has the most power out of the three, but it has a terrible recoil. The slow fire rate caused buy the recoil may cause trouble in sticky situations, but if you're someone looking for power, this pistol it the way to go. The fact that you can only purchase this at rep level six is a serious problem. Yeah, the developers did give it a strange name didn't they, why don't they just call it Desert Eagle? Price: $1,600 Clip Price: $50 Ammo Capacity: 80 Clip Capacity: 7 Rep Level Unlocked: 6 Upgrades: 0 Investment: Montana Defense Benefits: Ammo Capacity: 500 =============================================================================== c. They're basically pistols that can fire in full auto. Useful in close quarters situations, but bad for long rage gun fights. What they lack in accuracy, range, and power is made up for with crazy high fire rates. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I. Micro SMG [0018] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First automatic you'll see, fairly good at doing its job. With the ability to upgrade three times, you can keep this baby up-to-date late in the game. The first upgrade is an extended clip. From the 30 round clip you can upgrade to a 35 round clip, allowing for less reloads in the field. The second upgrade is a stock, great for improving its crapy accuracy. And the third is a silencer, reducing the cops attention. At rep level four you can purchase the silencer, and you can also purchase the MAC-10. This means that even though the MAC-10 is better than the Micro, the Micro has three upgrades making it a better weapon. Price: $600 Clip Price: $150 Ammo Capacity: 250 Clip Capacity: 30 Rep Level Unlocked: 1 Upgrades: 3 1) Clip Capacity: 35 Rep Level Unlocked: 2 Price: $30,000 2) Attaches a Stock Rep Level Unlocked: 3 Price: $40,000 3) Attaches a Silencer Rep Level Unlocked: 4 price: $50,000 Investment: Montana Defense Benefits: Ammo Capacity: 800 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- II. MAC-10 [0019] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SMG is very similar to the Micro, but it seems that every aspect about the MAC-10 is one step better. As with the Micro, the MAC-10 can be upgraded 3 times. The first is a clip with an extra five rounds, the second is a stock, and the third is a silencer. AK47 [0021] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Very good weapon! You can purchase it at rep level 3, which is absolutely fantastic. Plus, its only 700 bucks, this weapon makes one hell of an appearance early on in the game. The AK can be upgraded 2 times! The first will double your clip capacity from 40 to 80. The second will attach a shotgun under the barrel, great for use in close quarters situations. To use the shotgun press the R2 button. By far, this will be your primary weapon until you acquire the Carbine Assault Rifle. Price: $700 Clip Price: $150 Ammo Capacity: 450 Clip Capacity: 40 Rep Level Unlocked: 3 Upgrades: 2 1) Clip Capacity: 80 Rep Level Unlocked: 4 Price: $60,000 2) Shotgun Attachment Rep Level Unlocked: 5 Price: $150,000 Investment: Montana Defense Benefits: Ammo Capacity: 900 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- II. Carbine Assault Rifle [0022] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yeah brother, the Carbine Assault Rifle, Well obviously its an M16. I'm not sure why they named it that anyway, and the name doesn't even mach it. Since its an M16 they should call it the Rifle Assault Rifle. It should only be called Carbine Assault Rifle if it was an M4, but its not! Once you acquire this weapon, you will never change it. Its far superior than the AK47 in every category; range, power, accuracy, fire rate, ect, and that's saying something because the AK is a very good weapon. This will be the first weapon you'll see because you get to use it on the first mission, but its too bad that you can't keep it. Just like the AK, you can upgrade the M16 2 times. The first will double your clip from 50 to 100, and the second will attach an M203 to the under barrel. The M203 is a small grenade launcher, similar to the M-79. Like the shotgun on the AK, you press R2 to fire the M203. There is a way to acquire this weapon early on in the game, to find out how go to this section: [0041]. Very fun and very gruesome, when you shoot a limb it will end up on the ground somewhere behind the body. It'll take down enemies with one shot if they're only ~ 15 meters away, but any further and it'll take 3 - 4 shots. You'll acquire it early on in the game which is great for those Little Havana turf wars. It can take two men down at the same time if they're close enough to you and close enough together. Very fun weapon if your looking for blood. Oh, its also 300 dollars which is cool. Price: $300 Clip Price: $100 Ammo Capacity: 30 Clip Capacity: 8 Rep Level Unlocked: 2 Upgrades: 0 Investment: Montana Defense Benefits: Ammo Capacity: 300 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- II. SAW [0025] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a very useful weapon for situations where your highly outnumbered and need firepower. This weapon is similar to an assault rifle, but its best description would be light machine gun. Its similar to the Carbine Assault Rifle in its statistics. It does have a higher rate of fire though. This LMG doesn't have good accuracy, but that's a good thing, you get the spray effect with this gun, perfect for close quarters gun fights. It has a few problems though: its the most expensive weapon in the game, it lacks the abilities of auto-aim, and its unlocked fairly late in the game.
