how do i beat the first colossus u know wher the mountain thang is youve got ta climb how

You don't get killed after.
The black tendrils are the spirit of the colossus entering your body, increasing your
health and stamina.
There is another reason that you'll find out when you beat the game. :)

You have to run up and jump onto his left leg, right above his foot there will be this
wierd black light shining. stab your sword into it, and he will fall down. then jump onto
his back and climb to his head. When on his head keep stabbing him in his vital (A.K.A.
The wierd symbol thingy on his head.)
