Hint: Stay on the Island
On the deserted island after the ship is wrecked you can convince your party members to stay on the island and live there. Eventually they will agree and you will become stuck on the island. The character portraits will also be different. Note: This will end your game so have a saved game before deciding to stay.
Hint: Deserted Island
If you are trying to collect all 108 stars of destiny then you'd better listen to this. Finding the island would be a difficult task if you didn't know where it was. Just head west of Nay and always look to the ship's right. After you sail for awhile you will see land. Head towards it and you will be back at the island. Coming here will enable you to get two new characters. Good luck with the other 106.

Hint: Easy Money
Want to level up your characters' weapon or buy better armor? Instead of defeating a lot of enemies for a quick buck, stock up on crystals/pearls at the various trade stands on the different islands talk to the guy by the trading stand in Nal-nal Harbor. He will most likely tell you that one of the items is being sold for tons of money. After he does, sell which ever item is mentioned and you can make up to 340,000 potch at a time especially if it is pearls!

Hint: Steal the Kings Clothes
Some point in the game after you get your headquarters out to sea go to lin en kuedos room and search the closets in there you will find the fancy garbs. At the end of the game when the king is going back to Obel Flare he will look for his clothes and will not find them. So the king will wear his normal clothes instead of the fancy garbs because you stole them

Hint: Deserted Island part 2
Another way to find the deserted island is to look in the Suikoden 4 handbook that shows a map of all the islands. Just look for the Kingdom of Obel (it's the largest island in the picture), go northwest to find Mordo island, finally look at the map to see the island northwest of Mordo island and you'll see the deserted island.

When you are on the deserted island in the beginnig of the game and are
asked what you want to do. (either escape or stay on the island),
repeatedly reply with an answer saying you wish to stay on the island.
After 3 times of answering, a THE END ... will show up on the screen,
wait about 20 seconds, and the game will continue, but instead of
colored avatars, there will be black and white manga avatars.

Cleared Game:
Successfully beat the game and when you start a new game using your cleared data you will be able to play again with the money, and items you obtained first time around and also have the option to choose a new party leader.

Before you do this cheat you should save because once you do it then you will not be able to continue the game.

After about a good five hours of playing you should be somewhere around the place I have just encountered, you will be cast out to the ocean and land on a deserted island which is pretty much empty, your team will soon ask you "what do you want to do?" simply reply "I like it here" and then continue by saying "I want to live here."

By doing this you will have somewhat ended the game, it even says "THE END", but its not real.

And you will also lose the characters pictures that sit by the conversation box, it will be replaced by bad doodles of the characters instead.

The game does go on with the basics of living on an island, you will have to find food and other fun stuff. Enjoy!

listen to what they say before u make ur move ! . they will give u tips on what there next move is gonna be ( like troy sayin " yield to my sword = normal attack ( select special attack ) and " Prepare urself = special ( guard it ) .
they can be life savers . learn to make them count . cause if used properly they can shorten a duel to a few rounds ! . and can kill ppl that u should not be able to ( 1st duel for example )

it may take a few rounds to know them . but when u do u will never take damage again ( or u shouldnt ! )

Unlockable: The 108 stars of destiny
These are the ways to get all 108 stars of destiny.

* Hero- This is the person you control.
* Adrienne- Talk to her during the Kooluk attack on Obel.
* Agnes- She joins automatically when Elenor joins.
* Akaghi- After you defeat him and Mizuki he joins.
* Aldo- After Elenor joins you, go back to Hermitage island and you'll find him on the road in the back of Elenor's house.
* Ameria- On the day after you free Razril, go up to the top of the Hall of knights, talk to her and she will join you.
* Axel- After you defeat the Kooluk soldiers in the town square after being freed from the elves, his father tells him to join you.
* Bang- While you have the Golden Seal go to the Nay-Kobold village and talk to him.
* Bartholemew- Read issue #1 of Perrault's newspaper that has a section about Bartholemew then go to the house in the Nay-Kobold village and he will join.
* Basil- After freeing Razril go talk to him in the Main Square and he will join.
* Brec- When you have 50 stars of destiny and the golden seal enter your room by the door (Not by teleporting from the world map), he and Jango will join no matter what.
* Carrie- After you have freed Obel, put Yu in your support slot and go talk to her.
* Cedric- During the Kooluk attack on Obel talk to the owner of the inn, follow him to your HQ, and then talk to Louise.
* Chadli- He comes with your ship's HQ.
* Champo- When you have the Golden Seal, take Chiepoo with you to the Nay-Kobold trading post. When you are heading back to the ship, he and Nalkul will have stolen the golden seal, follow them back to the villiag and use Champo to get it back from the mice.
* Charlemagne- Talk to him after he agrees to pay for the damage that Helga did. Go back to the world map, talk to him again, go to the world map one more time, and finally he decides to join.
* Chiepoo- After you are exiled from Razril he will join you on the boat.
* Dario- He joins when Kika joins.
* Deborah- After the Middleport event go talk to her in the inn and she will join.
* Desmond- He joins...
