Getting Started: [B100]
Before you can begin playing you have to
create one or more Sims. I personally recommend creating four to six Sims, but one can
play with any number from six Sims to only Sim if that is desired.
To me there are great
benefits in having at least two Sims since the food and resource gathering duties can be
divided among the two or more Sims and there are Sims and not just Chimps to socialize
with. If you play with more Sims the food and resource gathering duties can be divided
among the Sims more effectively and so having enough resources becomes easier later in the
game.
I feel that it is up to the individual player to decide how many Sims to Sims to
create in the end, but keep in mind once you start the game you can't change the number of
Sims or their personalities.
When creating your Sim you will need to choose an
occupation. There are seven to choose from and you will get a small bonus for your skills
depending on which occupation is chosen, except for the Doctor you will have 3 bonus
points in the corresponding skill. If you choose the Doctor you will get 2 points each in
Logic and Mechanical.
Sim Career Chart [B101]

Mechanic Mechanical Doctor Logic and Mechanical

If you create more than one Sim as I suggest then I recommend that you choose a
variety of occupations, so that your crew will have different skills to start with, this
can help you a bit when playing.
It is best if your starting Sim has Mechanical or Body
to start with, so one should choose either Ranger or Mechanic or Doctor for the Sim that
you start the game with.
Once you have created a Sim you can not change their occupation
, so choose wisely.
You can edit a Sim's Body characteristics, their Fashion, their
Personality or their Name, but you can't edit their occupation once you have clicked the
Accept button.
If one is creating more than one Sim then it is important to understand
Sim personalities. Certain types of Sims will get along better with a Sim of a particular
personality type compared with how they will get along other types. Sims are grouped
according to their Zodiac Sign and a particular Sign will get along better with some Signs
than they will with other Signs.
Here is a handy chart:

Once you have
created all of the Sims that you are going to have in your crew, it is time to begin the
game. if you have more than one Sim you will need to choose which Sim you will start with.
Note this is only Sim that you will have at first and keep in mind that one should
choose either Ranger or Mechanic or Doctor for the Sim that you start the game
with.
After a few cut scenes where are on a boat and then you are in a storm and you are
tossed overboard by the storm you then begin the game.
First Beach and Immediate
Survival: [C100]
When the game begins, you wake up alone on a deserted beach and you get
a message saying that "The Sims have Shipwrecked. Find and unite your lost crew. Help them
get home. Shortly afterward you find "Moneywell's Big Book of Survival" and you are told
that this will help your Sim survive and you are asked if you want to read it and play the
tutorial.
Go ahead and click the Ok button, and you get some survival tips.
Survival
Tip #1: Survey the Environment
This means look all around and move your Sim about to check
everything out, Do this now.
Survival Tip #2: Gather Supplies
This means move your Sim
around and pick up everything you find. You can carry a very large amount of food and
resources, so don't worry about carrying too much.
if you go up to the trees you will
find some coconuts, select put in inventory and put the coconut into your
inventory.
Everything you find has some use so pick everything up. If you want to check
out what you just found press the Start button and then go to inventory.
Be sure to walk
along the beach in the water since there will be clam shells that you can find this way.
Also be sure to swim out to the two different Clam Rocks to harvest some clam meat and
maybe you might find something else of interest like a pearl in the process.
Survival Tip
#3: Eat!
At this point you are presented with your hunger motive and you need to eat
something. if you didn't pick up any coconuts, simply go up to one of the trees and look
for a coconut. Once you find one select the option to eat or press the Circle button and
go to the food screen select a coconut and press the X button to eat it.
Survival Tip #4:
Sleep!
Shortly after you eat something you need to sleep, so press the Circle button and
go to the tools menu and select the sleeping mat and click the X button to use it. Next
select "Sleep on Ground".
Note: if you select "do Yoga" this will increase your body
skill.
Survival Tip #5: Fire Saves
This means that you need to make an emergency fire pit
by pressing the Select button and then going to Plans and then going to your only option
at this point which is Firepits &Stove Plans.
Now select the Emergency Fire pit clicking
the X button. If the Emergency Firepit is not selectable it means that you don't have
enough driftwood, go pick up some and go back and craft the fire pit later.
Once you have
clicked the X button you will be in placement mode, place the firepit someplace
appropriate and click the X button., then press the triangle button a couple of times and
then walk over to the pile of resources and select Build.
Note: Always collect the Ash
that you will find in the firepit before lighting another fire.
Skills and Skill
Building: [C101]
Each Sim has six key skills, Body, Cooking, Charisma, Creativity, Logic
and Mechanical
Body:
Body gauges how well you can handle the physical challenges on the
islands, so it is a very important skill. Also, a Body of 10 is needed to explore some
places later in the game.
Body may increased by climbing trees, clearing resources with
the knife etc., spear fishing, or doing Yoga on the sleeping mat.
Cooking:
Cooking
determines your ability to put ingredients together and craft something that will fuel
your Energy levels. Stoves require Cooking skill in order to craft and a higher level
stove allows for more advanced combinations in food preparation.
Cooking skill is
increased by preparing food as well as gathering food.
Charisma:
The Charisma skill is
your personal attractiveness that enables you to get close to other Sims easily. A high
Charisma gives you positive results from socialization much more quickly. It is your
social tool to getting what you want.
Charisma is increased by socializing with Chimps
and socializing with other Sims.
Creativity:
The Creativity skill is your ability for
artistic expression and originality. Many items require creativity in order to make them
for example, most Leisure items, high end huts and furniture, as well as the sewing kit
and clothing all require creativity.
Creativity skill is increased by pursuing creative
tasks such as, playing the shaker or other musical instruments, crafting leisure items, or
creating island clothing.
Logic:
The Logic skill represents judgement and reasoning.
Logic skill is required in crafting household items. like the better beds and household
furnishings and is required in solving the mysteries of the Llama People and Beard Beard
the Pirate.
Logic is increased by picking up treasure map pieces, hieroglyphic tablets,
pole fishing and playing chess. So make a fishing pole as soon as possible and do some
fishing, you gain food as you increase your Logic.
Mechanical:
The Mechanical skill is
the most important skill for building and crafting and many items require a high
Mechanical skill level.
Building and crafting will increase your Mechanical skill and big
projects like building a shelter will raise it dramatically. Repairing an item also
increases your Mechanical. Do a lot of crafting and your Mechanical skill will
increase.
Note: one of the best ways to increase your Mechanical is to craft rope on the
crafting bench, as rope is a required resource in lots of items and projects and you
increase your Mechanical skill at the same time.
Note: Some goals will take longer to
complete than others. so work on each of the books that you find and try to complete any
of the goals that you can and remember to check back on each book as there may be a goal
that you are now able to complete.
Note: make a tool or craft other items as soon as you
can as doing so will unlock new plans for more tools and more items that your Sim will
need. So get in the habit of checking every so often for new plans that you use to craft
something, make sure to check everything.
Note: as soon as the plans for the Shaker
become available in the Leisure Plans, craft a Shaker since it is a musical instrument
that provides fun for your Sim as well increasing their Creativity when they play
it.
First Beach and Basic Survival: [C102]
Once you have built your Firepit and lit a
fire when you select the fire you can now cook food or if you select more you have the
options of sit, get warm and Build Home Tiki.
First select the fire, then more and
choose to Sit, this will unlock the comfort motive and open up the plans for "improvised
cot". Using the Sit command near a fire satisfies the comfort motive and helps keep your
Sim happy.
The Get Warm action also raises your Sim's Comfort.
Now select the fire, then
more and choose Build Home Tiki.
Next go to your Home Tiki and choose to Declare Home and
this will open up the option to choose one of four jobs, collect resources, cook food,
fish or gather food. When your Sim goes into free will mode she will know what task to
complete without your guidance. Be sure to have each Sim in your crew choose a job from
the Home Tiki.
Note that you can have more than one Home Tiki Torch set up, but only one
home location can be active at a time. What this means is that Sims return to the location
of the active torch after their island jobs.
Since you have a fire going it is a good
idea to cook some food, you can cook coconuts or some of that clam meat that you harvested
for a more satisfying meal.
You may want to see if you can harvest some more clams
now.
Note: cooking food as well as harvesting clams increases your cooking skill.
Now is
a good time to press the Select button go to Goals and read what is in "Moneywell's Big
Book of Survival", the first page is Basic Survival, the second page is Find Your Crew and
the last page is Find a Way Home. You go to the different pages by pressing the left or
right directional buttons on the D-pad.
For now we are just going to work on the Basic
Survival section, so go up to where you see two rocks near some trees and choose to build
a workbench.
The workbench opens up the Tool Plans, Special Plans and Roof Plans.
Now
you can make a bamboo spear, if you haven't already harvested some bamboo, go to where the
bamboo is and harvest some. Once you have the needed bamboo, go to the crafting bench and
select craft then go to tools and craft a bamboo spear.
Now that you have a spear you can
try your hand at fishing with a spear. To catch fish with the spear go to the water and
look for a school of fish, when you do you will have the option of "spear fish" choose
that.
Once you do so it will say "stab fish", now in order to succeed in catching a fish
you must wait until you see a fish jump out of the water, when you do select "stab fish".
It may take a little practice, but it will increase your body skill why you do
so.
Remember to keep an eye on your motives, it is important that you remember to eat,
sleep and take care of your comfort and bladder motives also.
After you have caught a
fish or two with the spear, go to your firepit and cook a fish and you will completed one
the goals in the Basic Survival section.
if you explore the area you are in thoroughly,
you will come across a strange plant that you have but one action with which is identify,
so and your Sim will eat some of it and then throw up, You have found the Poke Berries,
harvest some as they are resources that you might use later.
While you are at First Beach
make sure to explore the beach area next to where water is for various things that are
important and
Make very sure that if you find a bottled message that you pick it up. As
there is an important piece of a treasure map that you can only find in one of the bottles
that you find on the beach. Even if the bottle that you find doesn't have the treasure
map, keep the bottles for later.
Occasionally after a storm you may find a Chest washed
up on the beach, but you need the shell axe to open it, so make the axe as soon as you are
able.
Once you have spent some time at First Beach, which is where you are at this point,
it is time to do some exploring. If you are not fully rested, get some sleep first,
otherwise go to where you will see that there are a couple of feet floating in the air.
This means that this is a gateway to another area, in this case the brambles patch.
Frequently you have to deal with some sort of obstacle in order to access the new area the
first time, so unless you have rested recently it is a good idea to get some rest first.
Otherwise go to where the feet are floating and choose to Explore.
Deep Jungle and
Exploring: [C103]
Once you arrive on the other side in the Deep Jungle you will have
completed the goal of exploring the jungle and you have now unlocked some clothing plans
to replace your tattered clothing.
As you explore this new area be sure to harvest Vines
and Bananas and identify any new trees or plants that you might find. There are several
new plants and a couple of trees to identify, so be sure to explore the Deep Jungle area
thoroughly to make sure that you find everything.
Make sure to gather what you can of the
various resources to be found especially Vines.
Also be on the look out for your first
hieroglyphic tablet while you are exploring the area.
Once you have gathered some vines
and other resources, gathered some food and explored a bit head back to First Beach to
make the Shell Axe on the crafting bench.
Now that you have the Shell Axe go up to a
coconut tree and select more to get the option to harvest wood. This is the softwood that
you need to have in order to be able to craft a torch.
Next you need to Make a Shelter,
go to Plans and then Roofs and choose to make the Tiny 1 x 3 Shack Roof, you need to do
this before the first rain hits the island and once you have done this you complete
another goal.
Go back to the Deep Jungle and do some more exploring so that you will find
your way to the rest of the island and while you are exploring it is a good idea to start
making friends with the Chimps, what ever you do don't shoo them away. Use a banana to
entice one and you can then make friends eventually.
Shipwreck Lagoon: [C104]
Be sure
to explore this area for new plants and trees and look for another of the hieroglyphics
tablets.
While you are here you can build another crafting bench as there are a couple of
rocks here, this way you won't have to return to First Beach every time you need to craft
something.
Once you have built the crafting bench use the crafting bench to Craft a
Shirt, to do this go to Plans and then Clothing Plans and then choose a shirt to craft.
Once you have done this you complete another goal.
Note: Once you make a shelter you have
the plans for Shelter plans as well as Windows Doors and Wall plans.
Also note that as
soon as you complete all of the goals on the Basic Survival page you gain the plans for
the bamboo fishing pole, so it is always important that you try to complete the goals when
you can and it is also important to craft new tools as soon as you are able, since doing
so will unlock further plans.
Pier Beach: [C104]
When you get to Pier Beach you find
"Shipwrecked by Lord R. Stickywyck" another book with goals for your Sim to complete and
if you haven't already done so, you need to make friends with a Chimp as one of the goals
in this book.
Once you make friends with a Chimp you can ask the Chimp to gather which
you need to do in order to complete another one of your goals.
Next you need to make a
new home base here at Pier Beach, so build a firepit and build a Home Tiki and Declare
Home.
Later when one of the Chimps brings you a leaf bundle, you should use the "Respond"
action and the Chimp will give you their leaf bundle. Or sometimes the Chimp will drop
the leaf bundle on the ground and if you find one pick it up. Once you have taken a leaf
bundle from one of the Chimps or picked one up from the ground, you will have completed
another goal. At this point you will now have the plans to make a chimp of portent in the
leisure plans section.
Whenever a Chimp brings you a leaf bundle, choose the "Respond"
action soon enough and the Chimp will give you their leaf bundle, otherwise they may just
go off somewhere else.
One of the critically important things that you need to get is a
piece of the treasure map that one of the Chimps will bring you in of their leaf bundles,
so always try to make to sure to get the leaf bundle from the Chimp when they bring one or
if you see a leaf bundle on the ground try to make sure that you pick it up.
You can also
find a statue on the beach, King LoofaLava, make sure that you pick it up and add it to
your inventory. Also look around the area near the beach to find another hieroglyphics
tablet.
Also be sure to swim out to the two different Clam Rocks to harvest some clam
meat and maybe you might find something else of interest like a pearl in the process.
You
will want to be sure to identify any new trees or plants in the area as well being sure
that you are gathering whatever food there is to be had as well gathering resources that
your Sim will need, so make sure to explore the area thoroughly.
If you haven't already
done so build a bed or cot to sleep on, once you have done so another goal is
completed.
Now Craft a a Small Shack Table, do this and another goal is completed.
Next
Inspect the Pier and you will unlock plans for a Raft that will take you to the next
island.
Gather sufficient resources and make sure that your skills are high enough and
you can make the raft and travel to the next island. You will need Mechanical 2 and Body
2, plus 50 Bamboo, 30 Vines, and 10 Palm Fronds.
Airplane island:
West Beach:
[D100]
When you get to West Beach you find the "Log of the Final Voyage of Beard Beard
the Pirate" another book with goals for your Sim to complete.
Make sure to look around on
the beach for the Conch shell that you can use to summon a tribe member or the entire
tribe.
Take time to greet and then socialize with your #2 Crew Member that you will
discover somewhere on the beach. Then once you have gotten your relationship up to around
25 you should have the option of Ask to Join Tribe become available under Special. Get
them to join your tribe.
Once you greet the lost crew member you accomplish one goal and
once you have succeeded in having Join your Tribe you will accomplish another of your
goals. Check to see what other goals you have yet to accomplish.
Next find a likely spot
for a firepit and light a fire. Now build a Home Tiki and Declare Home.
Now switch to
your other tribe member by pressing L2 to make the Sims menu popup and then use the left
and right buttons on the D-pad to switch between Sims. Once you have switched to the other
Sim have the Sim go over to the Home Tiki and select one of the jobs. it is up to you to
decide which one of the jobs that this Sim should do, but having them do something from
your first Sim is probably the best idea.
Now you need to craft a bed and create some
shelter if you haven't already done so. You should have a bed, since one or more of your
Sims may need to get some sleep and they would be better off with a bed instead of
sleeping on the ground.
It is critically important that you swim out to the two different
Clam Rocks to harvest some clam meat as the first time that you harvest come clam meat you
will also find one of the pieces of the Treasure Map, afterwards it is still a good idea
as you gather some food and you might find some gold or a gem in one of the clams.
You
will want to be sure to identify any new trees or plants in the area as well being sure
that you are gathering whatever food there is to be had as well gathering resources that
your Sim will need, so make sure to explore the area thoroughly.
Before you do anything
else it is a good idea to craft the Bamboo Crafting Bench. Place it someplace convenient
as you will be using it later.
Go to where you see the Floating Feet to get to the next
area.
Airplane Jungle:[D101]
Again you will want to be sure to identify any new trees
or plants in the area as well being sure that you are gathering whatever food there is to
be had as well gathering resources that your Sim will need, so make sure to explore the
area thoroughly.
While you are exploring make sure to pick up the Airplane Radio that is
located near the Airplane Wreck, also while you are in the vicinity make sure that you
gather some of the hibiscus flowers nearby since the flowers are one of the resources
needed for several different things.
You might want to switch Sims a few times as you
explore and gather resources and then head back to West Beach for rest and to eat.
Dark
Cave: [D102]
When you get here you will unlock the plans for Obsidian Tools.
Explore the
area and make sure that you pick up what ever stones you can find. When you are exploring
you may notice a Door with some feet in the air in front of the door, if you inspect it
nothing apparently happens. Just ignore the Door for now as there is nothing you do at
this point with it.
While you are exploring, be sure to pick up the Statue of Prince
LoofaLava, that you find and also be sure to pick up the hieroglyphic tablet that is in
the cave.
If your hygiene is low swim in one of the cave lakes and if you like you can
use your fishing pole or spear fish.
After you have explored and fished if you wanted to
try your skills, go back to West Beach and make the Stone Tools using the crafting
bench.
Once you have made the Stone Hammer and the Stone Chisel using the Bamboo Crafting
Bench you can return to the Dark Cave and harvest Obsidian so that you will be able to
make the Obsidian Tipped Spear and the Obsidian Knife on your crafting bench.
Make sure
that you are well rested and you can find your way to the next area, go to where you see a
pair of feet floating in the air near a steep incline and then move around carefully until
a circle on the ground appears and the option to Explore appears, now choose to
explore.
Skull Rock Jungle: [D103]
Explore the area carefully as usual and make sure
to identify new trees and plants if you find any. While you are exploring make sure that
you harvest the Sisal and some of the Clay from the Clay deposit located near a steam
vent.
Also while you are in the area make sure to look near the Skull Rock for another
hieroglyphic tablet.
Once you have enough Sisal you can finally make some Twine and some
Rope, once you have the needed twine you can craft the Sewing Kit. Be sure to make some
Rope as you are going to need it.
When you have the needed Clay you should now be able to
make the Fortified Firepit.
if you come across a boar stand still in front of it and it
will attack you, if you win the fight you will accomplish another goal that of killing a
boar and you will unlock clothing that uses leather and boar tusks.
Once you have
explored the area thoroughly and you send some time gathering whatever food there is to be
had as well gathering resources that your Sim will need, you may want to head back to your
base at West Beach or you can go to the next area, just look for the Feet in the
Air.
West River Plains:[D104]
Getting to the West River Plains accomplishes a goal and
you now have plans for the chicken trap and the shell hoe.
When you get to West River
Plains you find "Moneywell's Big Book of Survival 2" another book with goals for your Sim
to complete.
Once you are at the West River Plains you can find your #3 of your lost
Crew, so socialize with them and ask them to join your tribe.
As usual you will want to
be sure to identify any new trees or plants in the area as well being sure that you are
gathering whatever food there is to be had as well gathering resources that your Sim will
need, so make sure to explore the area thoroughly.
Once you have crafted a chicken trap
this is one of the areas where a chicken trap can be placed and make sure that you pick up
any chicken feathers that you might come across in the process.
Once you have a high
enough Body you can climb down the Chasm and cross to the East River Plains or you can
build the Rope Bridge to cross the Chasm to the East River Plains.
Personally I build the
Rope Bridge rather than trying to make sure that I have enough Body to make the climb down
up the Chasm.
Rope Bridge requires: Mechanical 4, Logic 4, Rope 10, Bamboo 25, Softwood
10.
East River Plains: [D105]
As usual you will want to be sure to identify any new
trees or plants in the area as well being sure that you are gathering whatever food there
is to be had as well gathering resources that your Sim will need, so make sure to explore
the area thoroughly.
While you are exploring make sure that you find the hieroglyphic
tablet that is to be found here.
Once you have crafted a chicken trap this is one of the
areas where a chicken trap can be placed and make sure that you pick up any chicken
feathers that you might come across in the process.
From the East River Plains there are
two different directions that one can go South or East, as long as you explore both
directions it is not important as to which you do first.
However I am going to the East
first.
East Beach:[D106]
When you arrive you have met the goal of Find the other
Beach and you have new plans for home decorations and musical instruments.
When you look
around you will find Crew member #4, greet them and then get them to join your
tribe.
Next find a likely spot for a firepit and light a fire. Now build a Home Tiki and
Declare Home. Once you have the Home Tiki be sure to switch to your newest tribe member
and have them sign up for a job.
Inspect the Ancient Pier and you get plans for a canoe
which will take you to the next island.
Also you will want to be sure to identify any new
trees or plants in the area as well being sure that you are gathering whatever food there
is to be had as well gathering resources that your Sim will need, so make sure to explore
the area thoroughly.
Once you have crafted a chicken trap this is one of the areas where
a chicken trap can be placed and make sure that you pick up any chicken feathers that you
might come across in the process.
When you are at the south end of the beach you will
notice that there a couple of Feet in the Air, go this way and Explore.
South River
Jungle: [D107]
Be sure to harvest the vines near the Airplane Wreck and then go inside
the wreck a bit to find the Transmitter. It can be difficult to find, but it is much
easier if you harvest the vines first and then move around slowly in the area sort of
inside the wreck.
Once you have crafted a chicken trap this is one of the areas where a
chicken trap can be placed and make sure that you pick up any chicken feathers that you
might come across in the process.
Now head down to the river to find another statue, this
one is Princess LoofaLava.
Next head along the water's edge to some rocks and near the
rocks you will find another hieroglyphic tablet.
You will want to be sure to identify any
new trees or plants in the area as well being sure that you are gathering whatever food
there is to be had as well gathering resources that your Sim will need, so make sure to
explore the area thoroughly.
Now head back to the East Beach.
East Beach
Again:[D108]
When you are back at East Beach you need to craft the canoe that will take
you to the next island, depending on how many resources you have you may have to spend
some time gathering or crafting rope or you might have to work on your Body skill.
In
between gathering, crafting or working on your Body or even if you don't need to do
anything except craft the canoe, revisit where you placed any Chicken Traps and go up to
each one and choose to "Recover Trap" as this is how one checks your traps. For best
results have at least two or maybe three chicken traps placed at different locations and
check each one daily.
By now you should have the Stone Axe and the Stone Hoe in your Tool
Plans, craft both items.
Once you have the Stone Axe you are able to harvest Hardwood and
so you might want to revisit some of the earlier areas, especially the jungles as now you
will find hardwood trees in several places.
Once you have crafted the canoe you are ready
to go to the next island.
Volcano Island
Volcano Beach:[E100]
When you get here you
accomplish the goal of reaching the last island and get more shelter plans and find
another book this one is "The Biscuit Isles by Lord R. Stickywyck" .
When you look around
you will find Crew members #5 and #6 or if you just had five in your crew the last crew
member.
Next find a likely spot for a firepit and light a fire. Now build a Home Tiki and
Declare Home. Once you have the Home Tiki be sure to switch to your newest tribe member or
members and have them sign up for a job.
Look a little more an you will find the last
statue, Queen LoofaLava, pick it up to complete the goal of finding all of the
statues.
You should spend some time gathering whatever food there is to be had as well
gathering resources that your Sim will need, so make sure to explore the area
thoroughly.
To get to the next area you have to have sufficient Body skill as well as be
sufficiently rested.
Volcano Jungle:[E101]
Once you get here you find the "Pirates
Guide to Retirement, Manuscript" and this is the last book containing goals.
Next explore
the area until you find some hot springs and then make sure that your Sim gets in one of
them as you will meet a goal as well as you will find another piece of the treasure
map.
In the same area as the hotsprings is a ledge that you can walk on , walk up on the
ledge to find another hieroglyphic tablet.
Here and there are some trees with bee hives,
to harvest the honey comb, you must have a torch in inventory, if you do the option to
"smoke bees" will appear choose to smoke the bees before attempting to harvest the honey
comb. Later if you come back to one of the trees pick up the torch from the ground where
you dropped it previously and smoke bees before you harvest again.
You will want to be
sure to identify any new trees or plants in the area as well being sure that you are
gathering whatever food there is to be had as well gathering resources that your Sim will
need, so make sure to explore the area thoroughly.
Now go to the next area via the
Floating Feet
Geyser Plains:[E102]
You will want to be sure to identify any new trees
or plants in the area as well being sure that you are gathering whatever food there is to
be had as well gathering resources that your Sim will need, so make sure to explore the
area thoroughly.
At the foot of the Ancient Door you will find the final piece of the
hieroglyphic tablets, you now need to craft the Ancient Stele in order to be able to use
it.
Once you have crafted the Ancient Stele on your crafting bench, you can return to the
Ancient Door and your Sim will be able to open the door. You will need to check the
Leisure section for the needed crafting plan.
However you need to make sure that you are
well rested before attempting to use the Portal at the Ancient Door.
Once you have
crafted a chicken trap this is one of the areas where a chicken trap can be placed and
make sure that you pick up any chicken feathers that you might come across in the
process.
If you want this area makes a nice home base area as there is enough room and
there is a wealth of resources here.
So if you do make this your home base, make sure
that you have a Hardwood Crafting Bench placed here along with your Firepit and Home Tiki.
By now you should be able to craft one of stoves so make sure that you have one of the
Stoves here as well.
As you were exploring you will notice the Floating Feet, but a small
geyser is blocking your path. Look up to the right at the small plateau with a large
boulder there. Circle around and get on the plateau next to the boulder, now choose to
"inspect" the boulder. It may take you more than one try, but if you have crafted the
stone chisel and the stone hammer your Sim will use them and push the boulder over the
side to where it plugs the geyser hole and you can now use the Portal.
Once the boulder
has plugged the hole you can now explore to the next area, however you need to make sure
that you are well rested before attempting this Portal.
Volcano Overlook:[E103]
This
is the largest area in the game and it is a good place to build one of the larger houses
like the Mansion Bungalow once you have the required plans and the required resources
needed.
If you want this area makes a nice home base area as there is enough room for
building and there are some nice hot springs as well a some good resources here.
If you
do make this your home base, make sure that you have a Hardwood Crafting Bench placed here
along with your Firepit and Home Tiki. By now you should be able to craft one of stoves
so make sure that you have one of the Stoves here as well.
Be sure to identify any new
trees or plants in the area as well being sure that you are gathering whatever food there
is to be had as well gathering resources that your Sim will need, so make sure to explore
the area thoroughly.
There are three Portals here with the Feet in the Air, a couple of
them are difficult while one of them is easy.
The two difficult ones are easy to find,
one has a path with a steep climb and there is another at some broken stairs, both are
quite difficult.
We will be doing the easy one first and then returning to the Volcano
Overlook for the Stairs Portal later and then we will return again for the Steep Climb to
the Summit next.
Note: Before attempting the Stairs Portal, you must be well
rested.
Note: At the Portal with the steep climb upwards, you need a minimum Body of 9 in
order to be able the make the steep climb and you need to make sure that you are well
rested before attempting this Portal.
So go to the easy one and use that one for
now.
North Volcano Jungle:[E104]
You will want to be sure to identify any new trees or
plants in the area as well being sure that you are gathering whatever food there is to be
had as well gathering resources that your Sim will need, so make sure to explore the area
thoroughly.
There are two Portals here, the one you came through and one that you will
find if you head down towards the water below and head a bit to the east.
North Volcano
Beach:[E105]
When you arrive here you will accomplish the goal of Find the Other
Beach.
As usual be sure to identify any new trees or plants in the area as well being
sure that you are gathering whatever food there is to be had as well gathering resources
that your Sim will need, so make sure to explore the area thoroughly.
Using the Ancient
Pier here you will be able to craft a Sea Worthy Boat once you have sufficient resources
and have the required Body skill of 10.
For now go back to North Volcano Jungle and then
return to Volcano Overlook
Volcano Overlook revisited:[E106]
You are returning here
for the Stairs Portal, so make sure that you are well rested and it helps if you consume
an Energy Meal if after you have slept on the best available bed you still get a message
telling you that you need more energy.
You don't need a particular Body skill level for
this Portal, but you must have a full energy level.
Go up to the Broken Stairs Portal and
choose to Explore.
Temple Exterior:[E107]
When you climb up the broken stairs you will
arrive at the Exterior of the Llama Temple.
There is not all that much of real interest
here, but be sure to go to right of the Temple where the ground slopes up and there are
some interesting plants here that you will to identify and harvest.
There is a path
leading up, but we will save that for later.
Instead go up the Temple Stairs and you will
find some Feet in the Air here, this Portal will take you inside the Llama Temple, so lets
go this way.
Temple Interior:[E108]
When you enter you are inside the Llama Temple
and you accomplish the goal of finding the Llama Temple.
There are no resources here, but
make sure to explore the area thoroughly anyway. On the floor behind the Throne you will
find the Llama King's Crown, make sure that you pick this up. Near by is the Monkey Horn,
pick it up and put it in your inventory. If you play it, Chimps will come.
The Temple
Interior is an area where one may find chickens and it has several spots where you can
place a chicken trap. Remember to check the chicken traps each day by using the Recover
Trap action.
You should notice the Thrones, go up to the Throne and sit in it for a
bit.
There is a broken Forge that you have the option of repairing, do this and you will
have accomplished another goal. As well as causing an Earthquake that occurs as a new
island appears between the first island and the second island. More on Crystal Island
later.
Once you have repaired the Ancient Forge you will have the plans for metal tools
and glass. in order to make metal tools you need the Ancient Forge and have some metal
ore. For glass you need to use the Ancient Forge and you need to have some bottles that
the messages come in or you need to have some fine sand.
There are two other Portals
located at some Doors here besides the one that leads to the Temple Exterior.
If you used
the Ancient Stele to open the Ancient Door at the Geyser Plans both Doors inside the
Temple will be open, and you will have arrived inside the Llama Temple without visiting
the Temple Exterior, if you did come here by way of the Ancient Door make sure that you
leave via the Portal that takes you to the Temple Exterior, you need to do this so that
you get the goal of finding the Llama Temple met.
If you did not use the Ancient Stele to
open the Ancient Door at the Geyser Plans both Doors inside the Temple will be closed, and
if you have crafted the Ancient Stele you can inspect one of the Ancient Doors that have
Portals here inside the Llama Temple.
One Ancient Stairway Portal will lead you to the
Geyser Plains and the other Ancient stairway leads to the Volcano Summit and both of these
Portals are quite handy.
The Ancient stairway that leads to the Geyser Plains gives
convenient access back and forth from the Temple to the Geyser Plains.
The Ancient
stairway stairway that lead to the Volcano Summit allows you access to the Volcano Summit
without requiring you to have a Body of 9 like the Summit Climb does. This is quite handy
since the Volcano Summit is where the metal ore that you need is to be found.
You should
plan on visiting here every so often, meanwhile if you arrived via the Ancient Stairway
from Geyser Plains make sure that you leave via the Portal that takes you to the Temple
Exterior.
Heading to the New Island next.
Access to Crystal Island: [F100]
Next we
need to go to Crystal Island but the way you get there is going to be indirect since we
can't use the Island Map.
In order to get to Crystal Island you first need to go to
either Pier Beach on First Island or West Beach on Airplane Island.
Once you are at
either Pier Beach or West Beach you need to get in the water and swim out to where you see
a strange looking island chain, as you swim out you will go through a Portal to Crystal
Island.
Crystal Island: [F101]
When you arrive on Crystal Island look around and you
will a strange landscape that has those same odd looking green crystals that you found in
the Dark Cave.
There are two important resources here on Crystal Island, one is Fine Sand
and this is the only place that has this needed resource and there is another deposit of
Clay here as well.
Look around and in the main area of the island there is small
depression that has a piece of the Treasure Map in the center of it, make sure that you
pick this up.
Near where you found the treasure map piece is a roughly circular area with
water that has a clam rock and you should make sure to harvest the clams in case you find
a gem or some gold.
Next go to your inventory and place the Airplane Radio on the ground
near where you found the treasure map piece. Now select the Radio and choose to Repair it.
When your Sim does this you will accomplish the goal of "Assemble a Radio
Transmitter".
For some added fun select the Radio and choose "Send SOS".
Now observe
what happens. What fun, yes?.
Afterwards you can harvest Clay or Fine Sand or Fish with
a Fishing Pole until you are exhausted or hungry and then Send the SOS again, you can
repeatedly harvest Clay or Fine Sand or Fish until you are exhausted and then Send the SOS
until you feel like doing something else.
I mentioned that your Sim can Fish with the
Pole here as it is a good place to catch a Shark as well as you can build the Logic skill
for whatever Sim you are having Fish with the Fishing Pole.
Note: I recommend that you
switch to different Sim a few times and then do this process a few times and then switch
to another Sim and do the routine again a few times. It is a great way to build the Body
and or Logic skills for your several of your Sims.
Note: Aren't Alien Abductions fun?
When you get Abducted you come back with full Motives and a small amount of Alien Food,
check in the Meat Section for the Alien Food.
When you get tired of getting abducted and
then harvesting or fishing and then doing it again and again it is time to move on.
At
this point it is a good idea to travel to back to Airplane Island and go to the Dark
Cave.
Dark Cave revisited: [D109]
Once you back in the Dark Cave go over to the
Ancient Door. This is the mysterious Door with the Feet in the Air. Now we are going to
open it.
To open the Ancient Door you need to go up to it and Inspect it, assuming that
you did find the Llama King's Crown in the Llama Temple, your Sim will put the hat on and
then use it to open the door.
Now that the Portal is open, the only thing is you need to
be well rested in order to use the Portal. So get some rest in a good bed first. You might
want to have an Energy Meal after you get out of bed in addition as that can help make the
difference.
Hidden Lagoon: [D110]
When you arrive in the Hidden Lagoon the first thing
you need to do is make sure that your Sim's fun level is filled in order to complete a
goal.
Once you have enough fun, spend some time exploring the area and make sure to
identify any new plants and trees as well harvest resources. Note this is a good place to
find some of those hard to find blue orchids.
Also this is another area where one may
find chickens and it has a spot or two where you can place a chicken trap. Remember to
check the chicken traps each day by using the Recover Trap action.
Next we go towards the
other Portal across the water and more or less opposite from where you came in. This takes
us to the East River Plains.
East River Plains revisited: [D111]
You end up on the
other side of the quicksand standing between two Pillars, on the ground next to one of the
Pillars is a piece of the Treasure Map. Make sure that you pick this map piece up.
Next
move to where you are behind the left Pillar and inspect it. Your Sim will push the Pillar
over and it will land across the quicksand opening your way to the rest of the East River
Plains.
Spend a bit of time gathering resources and make sure that at least one of your
Sims has at least a 9 Body, when you are ready it is then time to go back to the Volcano
Overlook.
Volcano Overlook revisited again: [E109]
Your main reason for being here
this time is to make the Summit Climb to the Volcano Summit, since you need to get to the
Volcano Summit the hard way.
Make sure that your Sim has a 9 Body and also make sure that
your Sim is fully rested, and it might also be a good idea to have an Energy Meal just
before making the attempt.
Volcano Summit: [E110]
Once you have arrived via the Summit
Climb you obtain another piece of the Treasure Map.
There only few resources at the
Volcano Summit and the most important are the deposits of Metal Ore that you will find.
There is also obsidian and sisal, but we are mainly interested in the metal ore. You can
harvest as much as you want of the metal ore and obsidian as there is an inexhaustible
supply of both.
When you are done harvesting metal ore etc. return to your base
camp.
Base Camp: [E111]
At your base camp at the Geyser Plains or at the Volcano
Overlook you should rest and then if you haven't already crafted the metal tools, return
to the Llama Temple so you can use the Ancient Forge to craft them.
Make sure to get some
rest and get your Body to 10 if you haven't already done so.
Note one of the ways to
increase your Body skill is to harvest some wood, so make sure that you have the Metal Axe
and spend some time harvesting Sandalwood, and Hardwood and Softwood, since you will need
the wood resources for your upcoming projects.
When you have our Body at 10 and you are
well rested you need to go the Temple Exterior again.
Temple Exterior Revisited:
[E112]
While you are here you can spend a bit of time gathering some resources if you
want, but watch so that you don't spend too much energy doing so or you will need to get
some sleep on a bed.
Mainly you just want to get to the Ancient Theater and the Portal
that you need to use is opposite of the Portal going to the Broken Stairs.
Ancient
Theater: [E113]
This area has a lot of resources, but you should plan on coming back
later to spend the time needed to harvest more extensively. For now look around a bit and
get your bearings and maybe do a bit of harvesting of the orchids and the sisal that you
find here.
Your main purpose is to make the Ceremonial Dive off the Cliff, so if you are
not fully rested you should either make a cot to sleep on or use a cot that you have in
inventory. At this point you should be able to make the best, which is the "sturdy
cot".
When you are ready make the Ceremonial Dive head to the Portal straight ahead of
where you entered and then use the Portal.
Tidal Pool: [E114]
When you do the
Ceremonial Cliff Dive you end up in the water in the Tidal Pool area, once you have done
this you unlock Clothing Dyes and Tribal Face paint.
You also gain the another piece of
the Treasure Map, but you get a message telling you that a shark ate part of it. This
means that you need to fish in the Tidal Pools area for a Shark in order to get the
missing piece of the Treasure Map.
Once you catch the Tiger Shark you should gain the
last piece of the Treasure Map, assuming that you have managed to get the piece in the
bottle and the piece from the Chimps by now.
Also if you haven't caught a shark before
you satisfy the goal of catching a shark and you gain some new clothing plans.
Once you
have all of the Treasure Map pieces you need to craft them together using a crafting bench
and then you need to find Beard Beard the Pirate's Treasure, so you will need to go to
West Beach on Airplane Island once you have put the map pieces together.
West Beach
Revisited: [D112]
In order to find Beard Beard the Pirate's Treasure, you need to Inspect
the Strange Boulder that is in a small area off to the side on West Beach. Once your Sim
inspects the Strange Boulder, your Sim will push the boulder to the side revealing The
Beach Tunnel Portal that you need to Explore.
Pirate's Cove:[D113]
Look around for the
Ship and head over to it, on the Ship is Beard Beard the Pirate's Treasure.
Once you have
found the treasure which consists of Beard Beard the Pirate's Sword and Pirate clothing
for men and women, spend some time exploring the area and make sure to identify any new
plants and trees as well harvest resources. Note this is a good place to find some of
those rare food resources.
Once you have found the treasure and harvested what resources
you can, head back to what ever areas you like in order to gather the required resources
that you need in order to build the Bungalow that you need to build to complete one of
your goals.
Note: if you use the other Portal that you find in Pirate's Cove besides the
one that leads back to West Beach you will end up in Skull Rock Jungle.
Goals:
[G100]
Most of the Goals are completed by now, but some of them may yet remain if you
need help completing them check this section out for some helpful tips.
Note: It does not
matter in what order most of the goals are completed, I am just listing them in this order
as it makes sense to list them in this way.
You should pretty much complete each goal as
you are able to do
so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Catch a
Chicken. [G101]
The best method I have found to catch a chicken is to place a chicken
trap in several different locations and then each day check each trap by using the Recover
Trap action. If you place several traps and check each of them once per day you will catch
at least one chicken after a few days
time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hunt a
Boar: [G102]
The best method I have found when trying to Hunt a Boar is to stand in front
of the Boar and move to stand in front of it again if they move, if you do this for a
little while the Boar will attack you and you will likely succeed in killing it. It may
take you several attempts when you see a Boar to get in front of the Boar and stand there,
but this is what works best for me. Try chasing the Boar around and always try to get in
front of him so that you block his path.
You need at least the bamboo spear and having a
high body skill level will help.
The Boar will appear every so often when you are in the
East River Plains or in the West River Plains on the Second Island and it will appear in
the Geyser Plains and in Volcano Overlook on the Third Island.
When you have successfully
hunted a boar you will unlock some clothing plans and the
scarecrow.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Plant a Crop:[G103]
Once you have the plans for the Shell Hoe and have crafted the hoe,
go to Special Plans and then choose
Cultivatable Soil Patch, and you will need the hoe,
cooking skill 4 or higher and Ash from the fire.
You have been collecting the Ash,
yes?
Next go back to playing your Sim and then go up to where you placed the Cultivatable
Soil Patch and choose to "Plant Sprout" at which point you come to screen where you can
choose to plant a resource or to plant a food item. Choose which ever you want to plant
food or resource and when you have done so, you will complete this
goal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Harves
t a Crop:[G104]
Go to where you planted something previously and if the resource plant or
food plant is ready to be harvested, you will know it ready if there is an option to
harvest, be careful not choose 'remove plant". When you have harvested something from one
of the plants that you have planted this the goal will be completed and some new plans
will be available for the Umbrella and the Fish
Trap.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Harves
t an Egg: [G105]
Once you have caught a chicken craft a Chicken Coop and place the
Chicken Coop someplace and then select the coop and choose to "Add Chicken", next serenade
the chicken, then collect the eggs. Once you have collected the eggs the goal is
completed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Build a Cabin:[G106]
Go to Shelter Plans and select to build one of the Cabins. You can
choose to build an Irregular Cabin, or Vista Cabin or Family Cabin, or Country Cabin or
Harbour Cabin. Any of these Cabins will meet the goal once it is built.
Note: if you
have more than one Sim, have the rest of your Tribe help. If they are not already there
use the Conch Shell and choose "summon
tribe"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Buil
d Two Cabin Chairs: [G107]
Go to Seating Plans and select to build a Cabin Dining Chair
or a Cabin Living Room Chair.
You will need to build two chairs to complete the goal and I
always build a matching pair of
chairs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cra
ft a Shell Shirt: [G108]
Use the Hardwood Crafting Bench and then Go to Clothing Plans
and select to craft one of these shirts:
Shell Tank (female only)
Array of Shells Halter
(female only)
Layered Screen Knit Top (male and female)
{the one with Indigo Leaves and
Nautilus Shells.}
Note: that for some reason there are two shirts named "Layered Screen
Knit Top", but one of them uses blue orchids and that one will not meet this goal.
If you
are going to craft a Layered Screen Knit Top and you want it to count toward this goal
choose the one that requires Indigo Leaf and Nautilus Shell in the list of
requirements.
Note: You must use the Hardwood Crafting Bench for this
goal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Build
a Bungalow: [G109]
Go to Shelter Plans and select to build one of these: Compact
Bungalow, Manor Bungalow, Ranch Bungalow or Mansion Bungalow. note that they are ordered
from smallest to largest in my list.
Once you have built one of the Bungalows you unlock
the plans for the Lavish Shower and Lavish
Outhouse.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bu
ild a Lavish Shower: [G110]
Go to Outhouse and Shower Plans and choose to build the
Lavish Shower.
Note: I like to build the Lavish Outhouse to
match.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Build
a Bungalow Stove to Create a Feast: [G111]
Craft a Bungalow Stove and choose to Cook a
Group Meal using this stove, when you do this you complete this
goal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Build
a Seaworthy Boat:[G112]
Build the Catamaran at the Ancient Pier on North Volcano
Beach.
You need to have Body 10 and the Metal Axe.
Resources are 30 Sandalwood, 30
Hardwood, 50 Softwood, 50 Cotton and 15 Rope.
If you use the Catamaran you get out to Sea
and then you are rescued, at which point you get some cut scenes where you are back home.
At the end of the cut scenes you are asked if you want to return to the islands in order
to continue
playing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Se
nd an SOS from High Ground: [G113]
Go to the Volcano Summit, place the Airplane Radio on
the ground and then choose "Repair Transmitter", now choose Send SOS. Goal accomplished
and you are rescued.
You will need Mechanical 8 and Logic 8 to do this.
At the end of
the cut scenes you are asked if you want to return to the islands in order to continue
playing.
Cooking: [H100]
Some meals have special effects that you can see: if it has
red hearts or sparkles it will give a boost of energy which can be very helpful when you
need to use a Portal that tells you that you need more rest or more energy.
Stoves give
your Sim the ability to create recipes with more than one food item and they are the key
to advanced cooking, so craft one of the stoves as soon as you are able to do so.
In
order to create food that has an Energy Boost, one needs to read the info for the food
items that one is going to use. If you choose food items with a number for energy when you
are creating a meal, when you prepare the meal and then eat it, this meal will give you a
boost of energy.
Note:Red hearts will give you energy as well as tend to put you in a
romantic mood.
Note: Sparkles with a meal means that it will give you an energy boost.
Note:Green smoke means it will make the Sim throw up.
Note: Water Drops means that the
Sim will need to use the toilet
For more information on Recipes see my "Castaway's Guide
to Cooking.txt"
Fishing: [J100]
Fishing with a fishing pole is a great way to
increase your SimÕs Logic skill as well catch an important food resource.
Requirements:
Bamboo Fishing Pole or Wood Fishing Pole.
Sharks and other Large Fish can only be caught
with a fishing pole and certain locations are best for catching certain fish:

Notes about FAQ & Glitches etc. [K100]
FAQs:[K101]
Q: Will the several
earthquakes be explained later in the game?
A: The Earthquakes will cause damage to your
buildings, but they are not dangerous otherwise and the only explanation that I can think
of is they are there because of atmosphere.
Q: Where I can find the death daisy?
A: You
only need the Death Daisy if one your Sims dies, at that point it appears at the spot
where the Sim died.
When a Sim Dies [K102]
When a Sim dies, there will be a sign that
pops up announcing the death and giving their name. At the spot where the Sim has died,
there will be a Death Stone. Sims in the area will autonomously go to the Death Stone and
Mourn the Dead Sim.
To Bring Back the Dead Sim:
Find the Death Stone, mourn the departed
Sim and then pick the Death Daisy. Then using the bamboo crafting bench or the hardwood
crafting bench craft the Death Daisy Potion.
Now return to the spot with the Death Stone,
select it and choose to Resurrect, you will then see your Sim pour the blue glowing death
daisy potion on the death stone and then a large pink cloud forms and the formerly dead
Sim appears with full motives.
Note: the ingredients for the Death Daisy Potion are the
death daisy obtained from the death stone where the Sim died, one blood orange, one
manchineel fruit and one mandrake root.
Note: I have completed the game several times
without anyone dying and thus never needed it, so you may not need it eith |
